1 Good Morning Morons.  Today is Tuesday, October 23, 2012.  On this day in 1915 25,000 women marched in NYC for the right to vote.   Tector Crites didnÂ’t think too much of that idea.  31 years later on the same day the U.N. convened for the first time in NYC.  Coincidence??

8 Jerry Brown once again goes for a massive tax hike to balance CAÂ’s budget.  CA voters have managed to avoid this so far seeking to live off of federal largess. What needs to happen is to kill the unions in CA and redo the golden retirements they all get.  That will not happen until CA completely collapses.  Tax hikes will not work either because they always spend the money on new socialist spending.  CA used to be the richest State in the union.  The Democrats took complete control sometime around the early 80s and after 30 years they have bankrupted it.  Proof positive that even in America socialism does not work.

14 The latest lawyer scare and FDA scarey news for Halloween EVIL CAFFIENE IN ENERGY DRINKS!

Run for the hills, 5 deaths and 1 heart attack   (since 2004)

Evil Monster Energy Drink contains 240 mg of caffeine in 24 oz can! 7 times as much as a 12 oz cola!

14 y.o. girl dies after drinking 2 in 2 days.  Yes she had a heart defect but parents are lawyered up now in CA.  Jackpot city here we come!

Guess what people. 1 cup of coffee (8 oz) has between 95 and 200 mg of caffeine depending on where it is grown and how the beans are processed. So a 24 oz can of coffee (3 cups) could have 285 mg to 600 mg of caffeine.  Much more than the energy drink.  But that will not matter to the lawyers or the stupids the lawyers will pack the jury with.

17 Last night's debate shows us what is wrong with the GOP overall and their lose more slowly mindset.

The sitting Presidents foreign policy is an unmitigated disaster and his challenger either couldn't or wouldn't crush him.

Obama should have and could have easily been eviscerated last night, Romney whiffed badly.

Instead I wake up to the news that a fair number of people thought President Fuck Stick won last nights debate.

UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE!

18 Alabama House leader to try to block UN observers in AL. http://is.gd/9avYA6 Posted by: Vic at October 23, 2012 07:03 AM (YdQQY) All UN scum in America should just be arrested and held for trial until some time after the Innocence of Muslims creator is released. Then the UN jailbirds should be freed and dropped off in central Zimbabwe. UN personnel love Africa. They have the most desperate children there willing to do anything for a UN dipshit with some food that they act as if they grew and paid for themselves, the scumbags.

It really has nothing to do with Romney. Barky is a retarded America-hater and no one needs to have that pointed out in some pseudo-debate. How do you think we have gotten to the precarious perch we now find ourselves in?

Because we have not followed Conan's first maxim: Crush your Enemies

We are staring down the barrel of disaster and the GOP has played a part in this because:

1) They Promote Squishes and Marginalize Conservatives
2) Like Issa, they talk a good game but when push comes to shove they
    do nothing.
3) They unlike the Democrats miss every opportunity to move their agenda forward.

38 I hear you, but we need Obama and politicians like him crushed, CRUSHED! Barky needs to be prosecuted and jailed, not crushed. He's a traitor and criminal of the highest order. But ... this nation doesn't seem to have the brains or sense to understand that someone who has torn our Constitution to shreds and made a total mockery of our law MUST be held to account. People seem to be of the mind that he can be voted out and everyone will just pretend that nothing happened between 2009 and 2013, and everything will just return to normal. It doesn't work that way. The US has been irreparably damaged and of the damage that is repairable, it can only be done if those who caused the damage (intentionally and out of pure malice) are held to account and punished. So, barring that happening ... the rest is just minor commentary and of little consequence. I agree with you that barky should have been pounded into the ground (as Bachmann or Newt would have done, without any question) but that's just a side issue, at this point.

And the progs are relentless.  They use ballot initiatives, the courts, 2000+ page unread legislation, trivial but time-consuming law suits, variations on ballot initiatives, etc.  Even if they were all voted out of office, unraveling their legacy legislation would take years, and the stacked liberal courts would impede that as well.  I don't think the Republicans (or the Conservatives) really understand long term political strategy.

41 Gen. WW-take a pill.  Romney did exactly what he set out to do, which was not to please you with redmeat, but to reassure the persuadable voters that he's stable and trustworthy.  IOW, exactly what Reagan did 30 years ago.

The most damaging part of the evening for O was his snarky little comment about "we have these ships we land planes on, they're called aircraft carriers".  He let the mask slip.  He let his anger at being bested shine through.  Bad move, Barry.

47 Our major concern now should be the unions in the swing States and massive voter fraud in those same States.

Dirty tricks like that stupid letter being sent to FL Republicans will not effect enough to turn over the State but busing in massive numbers of people and voting on dead people's registrations along with "found" ballots will.

Yes, Choom Boy should have been gutted like a fish on his incompetence, treason and hatred for America.

But it's not Romney's place to do that. He -- or his advisers -- know there is a substantial group of voters who would be turned off if Teh Mutt tried to portray himself as President Meanie. If he can beat the SCoaMF while staying calm and positive, that's good "optics."

So who should have gone after the Traitor-in-Chief? Congress, for starters, followed by the MFM (which has been too busy sucking Osama Obama's toes to notice that he has been screwing up) and the eunuchs in the so-called conservative media, who have been too bust tittering and giggling at his foibles but didn't (and don't) have the balls to close the deal.

If any one of these groups had stood up for America instead of giving President Historic First© a lifelong free pass, Obama would have showed up for the debate in an orange jumpsuit.

And Romney still would have played it calm and cool. That's what he does.

Years back, Niven was shooting a picture in the south of Spain (I donÂ’t remember the name; perhaps one of you morons can figure it out).  One evening, Niven was walking out of his hotel when he was approached by a man whom he had known years ago.  The man, it seems, was pissed off at Niven; had been, in fact, for years over some unknown grievance.  When he was face to face with Niven, he began shouting at him, cursing and degrading him for the long-ago insult.  Always nonchalant, Niven just stood there, listening, hands in his pockets.  Finally, when the man stopped his tirade to take a breath, Niven said to him, “YouÂ’re a cunt.”

The man took a deep breath, as if he hadn’t heard, and kept on insulting Niven, who once more said, “You’re a cunt.”

The flow of words continued, and Niven – never raising his voce - repeated once more, “YouÂ’re a cunt.”

With that, the man suddenly punched Niven, who went tumbling down the steps of the hotel, his hands still in his pockets.

Now, despite his debonair image, Niven was big, strong and very brave – he was, in fact, a highly decorated war hero.  But he simply got up, brushed off his suit and walked away.  When asked why he didnÂ’t deck the man, Niven – the soul of reason and fair play - replied, “Well, after all, I did call him a cunt three times.”

The other story is and isnÂ’t a Niven, as such.  It comes from Tony RandallÂ’s wonderful collection of TV, stage and Hollywood stories, Which Reminds Me, and concerns a conversation the two were having somewhere at some time.  Randall, a gentleman, disguised the name of the woman Niven mentioned, calling her only “Mona.”

“Of all the women IÂ’ve had,” Niven told him, “Mona was the best.  The absolute best in the world.  Now, you must promise never to repeat this, dear boy, but I will tell you how good she was.  While you were screwing her, if, for some reason, it suddenly occurred to you to get a mackerel, wrap it up in news paper and shove it up her ass – well, without your saying a word, sheÂ’d stop, get up, go downstairs and bring back a fish.  ThatÂ’s how good she was!”

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

In cases where the gravy train comes to an end they seriously trash the place on their way out. (This sort of thing has become more common in regular evictions in the SCOAMF economy as well).

It would have been nice if Romney had corrected Barky every once in a while when Barky would pound his chest and say "terrorism" that Romney would say, "Don't you mean 'man-caused disaster', as per your own adminsitration's instructions?" Little things like that would have been nice ... and so easy ... and so true. There are thousands of these things hanging out there. Romney could have just asked Barky what the name of Israel's capital was and why his administration refused to say the name for so long. If Mitt wanted to be really nasty he could have brought up the "Al Quds" name that Barky's idiots threw around in Congress (I'm sure most of America has no idea about that little nugget). But ... meh. It is what it is. Either America wants to be restored or not. If not, I'd like to know now so I can get to the states that are going to split off or just leave. I will not live in the American Socialist Superstate. That's for damn sure.

I used to live in Mad Maxine's district. What a hellhole. I feel your pain....

One of the things that always pissed me off on election day was watching unregistered people come in to vote. The poll worker would say "I'm sorry, Mr Lopez, you're not on the list" and Lopez would say "Mang, I live 223rd estreet." Result? "Provisional" ballot that, when marked, would be dropped right into the normal ballot box.

I'm sure it has only gotten worse, thanks to the untiring efforts of Moonbeam, Maxine and Villaraigosa.

My only good memory of living there came one day when I was standing on a beach near my apartment. A tourist came up and said "do you ever find shells on this beach?"

I could only say "Yeah. Usually 9mm."

I will be monitoring poll watchers in swing counties around the country (along with 700 other folks) in order to direct the GOTV phone and door efforts in the places that matter the most. I'm honored and really, really excited to have this opportunity. Not to mention getting a chance to see President Romney at the moment he first hears the great news! The moral of the story is, go sign up at the link at the top of the sidebar, and come join the well-organized, highly-sophisticated Election Day operation, and lets get this thing done.

Posted by: Truman North at October 23, 2012 04:01 AM (I2LwF)

119 I hope this isn't just wishcasting but...seems to me what Romney's strategy last night indicates (and it had to be on purpose since he never deviated from it) is that he and his advisors have internal polling telling them they have the election won so there was no reason to risk looking unpresidential or sounding too much like W on foreign policy...especially that second part. So, they passed on giving Barky the beatdown he deserved as fun as it might have been to do. I mean, given all the things that Romney could have justifiably ripped Barky a new a-hole about on foreign policy, do you think he'd have passed on doing that if they saw the race as still being close much less as them being behind? That would seem to be at odds with the high quality campaign they've run so far.

At least I hope that's what they were thinking and why, and they damn well better be right about where the race is now.

Romney knows he has the momentum and has wisely put the WH under siege instead of making unnecessary and costly frontal assaults.  His devastating blitz in the first debate pretty much destroyed Obama's offensive capability.  Now it's mop-up and tighten the noose.

Romney also played the Foreign Affairs just right.  Even in a contest for the Presidency, most Americans expect a degree of unity for the world to see.  Hugging the generalities of Obama's current FoPo makes it hard for Obama to attack him as being a risky loose cannon.

After "What about your gaaaafffes", and getting jumped on for daring to criticize the Egypt apology, Romney wisely decided to let Obama hang himself with his own FoPo fails.  I think Obama already lost the FoPo debate last week.

That said, I would have like to see Romney bring up "Leading from Behind", especially when "I" "We" "Me" puffed up about his taknig the initiative in putting together the Libyan Bombing Coalition.  He also should have pointed out that these new-fangled things called aircraft carriers do not float around all alone, and that there are things called "Carrier Groups" which are composed of many smaller ships which defend and service the carriers.

When you're talking about the backlands in Afghan mountains or Libyan desert, etc., beasts of burden certainly retain their value traversing in the wilderness. And then there are the "unexpected" incidentals...

In the documentary Restrepo, a bull was caught in the barbed wiring set out by US Army, and our soldiers butchered it and feasted with a big outdoor BBQ that night in full view of the Afghan whose bull they "stole" without purchase. When the farmer and tribal elder met with the Army PR Captain, asking for equal reimbursement either with another bull or the purchase in money, he was told to accept beans and rice. Not a fair agricultural trade /contrary to Jack and the Beanstock/. Especially given the arid inability to grow beans and rice that require immediate consumption, no renewal for next season. A bull isn't simply a symbol of power in the region, prestige for the owner, but has ongoing value breeding. A farmer doesn't slaughter his bull until he's all spent out.

145 Romney pushed o's buttons last night. He sat back and watched the bully child lose it more and more. People see this. barry cannot get the street chicago thug out of his veins, it is always just near the surface. Romney looked the incumbent. barry looked as if he was fighting for his life. Romney was not as prepared as he might have been, and I noticed at times he wanted to look at his notes, but knew better while midsentence. It is so much easier to be in the incumbent seat for this type of debate. O has all the inside info. Romney does not. Romney allowed o to run over himself several times. Good enough. the MSM thinks the zingers and bullying is a "point." But, overall, I agree with Krauthammer. Romney won this by being above the fray, and acting presidential, and going big.

147 My personal Moron Scorecard from the debate...

Israel - Romney
Iran -Romney
China - Romney
(he showed a stronger determination to deal with the issues)
Syria , Egypt and Afghanistan - wash
Libya - Missed opportunity

Appealing to Women and Independents - Romney

#1 issues of this election , The Economy
and Romney won this hands down...

Where the immigrant O'bama screwed up -
1) - Sequestration - he already signed this into law in an effort to force a tax hike on rich people...But last night he said it wont happen and the spin elves said he didn't really mean that.
So - the effect of this blunder is O'bama just screwed himself on his own tax argument and his promise to Veto...

2) - O'bama was petty and immature over the Navy comments
and showed disdain and 'snarkyness' all through the debate which is also evident in his campaign speechifying..
( typical liberal stances)

3) - Horses and Bayonets ? Well horses were used during the invasion of Afghanistan and the Marines use Bayonets to pick Socialist out off their teeth...

4) - The issues of a STRONG military , STRONG economy
will equal a STRONG foreign policy is above O'bama's pay grade...

Posted by: AmericanDawg at October 23, 2012 04:31 AM (XIsD/)

148 But, Mitt could have said, "That has nothing to do with the number of ships needed TODAY and the low, low number that our Navy will be reduced to, decimating our most important control of the oceans, thanks to your ineptitude and disastrous policies, you fucking retard."

Certainly he could have responded that way (I didn't watch that part of the debate, so I don't know how he responded), but I suspect he was just letting TFG say as much stupid stuff as he wanted.

Mitt lead with "The Navy says..."  and TFG responded with "Well, we have fewer horses and bayonets, too! Neener, neener!" (okay, I may have added that last bit)  If I had to guess, I'd say that Romney is hoping the independents will hear those juxtaposed and say, "One of these men is serious, and the other is not.  Which one would I prefer in charge of my nation's security?"

I understand Romney not wanting to rock the boat, but I don't like the fact that he kept agreeing with Barry, I'm worried that he was so concerned with getting the Independents, that he may have lost a few conservatives. The last thing he wants is to slow down the enthusiasm right now. I know conservatives will still vote, at least I hope they will, but he doesn't need to give a single one of them a reason to change from crawling over broken glass to vote for him, to dragging their feet.

Posted by: ThePrimordialOrderedPair at October 23, 2012 07:47 AM (X3lox) But, I think that was the point. Romney chose not to go down into the thousands of lies and random details like we see, but most Americans do not. He "went big" as CK said. He DID bring up red meat throughout, just on a larger scale. He brought up the bowing -- this was a pattern not to be missed. The apology tour. He DID bring up the sequestration -- but no one got it, imho. Only we did. He DID bring up Iran no nuke policy, etc. He went big. He could have argued every little detail and mishap and lie, but I think that would have dropped him to barry's level -- the sewer. No one likes a sewer brawl.

Romney stayed free of gaffes, looked Presidential while 0bama no longer looks so much Precedential, and the Preference Cascade will continue its march to the White House.

There was no need for Romney to get nasty or in 0bama's face. It's the fourth quarter of the game, most of the fans have already grabbed their caps and coats and are heading for the exit. We have a slim lead, and we still have the ball. Time to just run out the clock.

If you're concerned about the heat, East Texas isn't quite so bad (lots and lots of trees) as the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex (and areas west).  Of course, then you'd have to deal with squirrels the size of house cats, but these things are trade-offs.

Honestly, summers here suck for most people (I like them, but I'm a sick freak), but we spend most of the time when its hot in-doors anyway, and do our outdoor activities in the morning or evening.  Just be sure to wear bug spray.

Comments are only damaging if they are described by the media as such.

Instead, the media are busily describing Barky's comments as "commanding" and "brilliant".

Romney started out by talking about the total number of ships in the Navy.

Obama stuck out that glass jaw of his, in that Mussolini way, and implied that Romney didn't know what he was talking about, because of aircraft carriers and subs.

Except that the fleet numbers Romney was quoting INCLUDE carriers and subs.

Romney could have landed an uppercut on that jaw right there with that one simple observation. And did not do so. Don't stay up late waiting for the media to point out that Barky was wrong. Either Romney does it, or it doesn't get done, and Romney didn't do it. Grrrrrrr.

We were actually thinking east/northeast Texas, but I'm not sure either of us is up to moving back to hot/humid summers. It's nice and mild here a good 8-9 months out of the year, and the winters haven't been bad at all so far. Maybe we can start a movement to break off the rest of Virginia from the liberal enclave near DC. We are supposed to have 57 states anyway, aren't we? :-)

Just got back from a grouse hunting trip to North Central Pennsylvania.   True to form, the center of the state is overwhelming for Romney.   Hopefully the suburbs of Philly will shift a bit to the right this year too.

For what it is worth the grouse seemed to be quite safe this year.

Then there's far, far, far East Texas, so far you're over the border, aka the Shreveport Bossier area, aka the tri state area, aka the ARK-LA-TEX.

The weather? Umm, well, the nice thing is that it's humid in winter, so you don't have that dry cold. Or "cold" at all, actually. Cool, warm and hot are the seasons.

We don't have many Cowboys fans. Some, but it's purple and gold 24-7, with some Saints stuff thrown in occasionally.

213 You know what team has the best pass defense? The Cowboys. We like to make fun of Jerry Jones because he's a freaky yay-hoo who micromanaged his team; but he does seem to get some decisions right. Plus Cowboys Stadium, if it were in any blue state, would be the object of much deification by ESPN and the other pliant press. He glad it's in Dallas so the commentariat doesn't emasculate all over every broadcast coming from there about its sheer awesomeness.

229 139 Thunderb.

That would seem like an easy given, which explains why Romney already hung Benghazi around Obama's neck like an albatross. However, as always when given treachery, there's more intrigue than either candidate wants to expose at this point.

The CIA personnel and Director Petraeus left Ambassador Stevens in Benghazi on his own without making his requests their own demands on Washington to cover the Embassy's ass against al Qaeda terrorist attack.

Given that much public evidence, no wonder no more mention. Hot Potato.

Nonetheless, Obama FAILED.

Barry didn't simply fail the four mutilated and assassinated Americans and the Benghazi Embassy security losing all intelligence documents to al Qaeda.

That failure was the inevitable totally predictable result of the larger Obama FAILURE to truly stay abreast of everything.

Benghazi clarified Libya's act of War on America and proved how miserable Obama's "lead from behind" strategy is.

The US sponsored the NATO War on Libya, carrying the bulk of the cost, personnel, craft and armaments used up as NATO members failed to bring their share to the war, and what supplies they had are all expired now, used up in Libya along with US armaments misappropriated from where Congress approved and the Joint Chiefs designated their use for Iraq and Afghanistan. (NATO Deputy Secretary General Vershbow August address in Washington, The Air Force Magazine, Oct. 2012 issue)

Obama tried his community organizer strategy in Libya and got Benghazi terrorism.

Despite wanting credit for all things accomplished well by Americans everywhere, Obama was not interested in being involved let alone directing decisions about anything, not even directing his own chosen War against Libya propagandized as if an Arab "Spring" /Spring from the frying pan into the fire/.

Obama has been on VACATION. The only work that Obama performs regards his perpetual campaign selling whole cloth. Far too many months in a row, Obama failed to attend the Intelligence Briefings provided FOR the benefit of the POTUS.

From the onset, Obama has refused to do more than Occupy the White House when not on VACATION. He didn't even compose or organize "ObamaCare" nor has he likely bothered yet reading those 2000 pages that he signed into law, written and comprised by Pelosi/Reid. He took Nancy's advice one step further. "You can read it after it's signed into law." Thanks but no thanks.

That lack of proper leadership is America's problem. And Obama's sponsorship of the Arab Spring as the figurehead of the "democratic community organizer" movement gone amok is nothing for US Voters to accept, and nothing for Romney to compliment.

Granted, I slept through the last 30 minutes last night. But during the first hour, it seems that both candidates are weaving their basket of diplomacy as community organizers for the Middle East Region, collecting eggs. Tricky. All the eggs in one basket...

The debates are over. We'll see now...

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, but a couple of things.

1) State, not CIA, is in charge of Embassy/Consulate security.  That rests with Hillary.

2) The reports requesting more security (starting as early as November 2011) were all directed specifically to the Secretary of State and "WASHDC" (which I presume means the White House, but I'm not sure on that).

I'm not sure where Gen. Petraeus enters this equation at all.

That doesn't even mention the fact that England and France had already shut down their embassies due to the danger in Libya, and the ever-escalating terror attacks there for nearly a year leading up to the Ambassador's murder.

254 How you can be "undecided" at this point is beyond me. There are two very stark choices.

At this point, Romney has been seen as someone with a very good command of the issues. On the most important issue, our economy, he is seen as much better than the President. Big advantage Romney.

Mr. Obama has offered no new ideas. He has spent a great deal of his time demonizing Romney and continuing to divide our populace. That provides no hope for the future. This nonsense of "you don't want to go back" has no positive appeal either. If you asked most people if they want to go back to the economy before Obama was President they would say- yes.

That being said, I think that "undecideds" largely break for Romney and help put him over the top. People intuitively know what Mr. Obama is trying has not worked and a continuation of the same only prolong their economic agony.

What worries me is Ohio. I believe Ohio becomes the next Florida and there are plenty of shenanigans that Team Obama are pulling  to make that contention happens. There has been an uptick in their lawyers on the ground and they are getting in place to prepare an assault. That should worry everyone.

Posted by: General Woundwort at October 23, 2012 07:16 AM (06lNq)

That's the main problem with your and others thinking.

Just because the Republican party claims and espouses a conservative agenda does not mean that they actually do.

They have been living on the difference between the Democrats agenda and their claimed agenda. Garnering votes and reputations along the way.

A close look AT WHAT THEY ACTUALLY DO reveals that they only differ in degree and tempo with the Democrats.

It's a function of the office they hold, the power and money they have to wield and the election cycle requiring them to convince one group to give them money and another group to give them votes.

To much of the time those two groups have different goals in mind and the politician must find a way between them that APPEARS to satisfy both.

This is why the TEA party is such a threat and also why Palin was seen as a threat by both sides.

I would almost guarantee she would have attempted to adhere to her spoken goals and been less beholden to the money group.

274 Obama's Department of State Policy, aka "Obama Doctrine"

"We came. We saw. We killed. BWAHAHAHAHAHA."

Likewise, "right back at you" al-Qaeda sends their regards to Obama, the POTUS who sponsored their revolution in Libya while telling Americans that al-Qaeda is on its heels.

Cognitive dissonance, as Hillary said, requires a willing suspension of disbelief to allow that Obama has killed (projecting himself into the fray) all the leaders of al-Qaeda as claimed last night.

Obviously, that's not the case given the Benghazi incident out-maneuvering our CIA, our entire Embassy personnel, not to mention our bought-and-paid-for mercenary Libyan "security" forces (owned by Brits) who performed in league with the terrorists.

Where's our outrage? NATO affiliated corporations profit from sponsoring and "managing" these so-called democratic Arab Spring revolutions that are spawning barbarism where there had been coexistence, imperfect but better than now.

CRUCIFIXION. How can any civilized Westerner endorse the ruling revolutionary Egyptians crucifying their opponents who had actually maintained peace within the factions of Egyptians, whether Coptic or Muslim? In the world's face, the crucifixions occurred in front of the Egyptian Presidential Palace. Particularly, a logical person is OFFENDED that our taxes enhance the growth of the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda. A logical person rejects propaganda, political promises for re-election votes. Objectivity exposes the fraud from fabrications of profitable whole cloth sold to the masses by our nation's bipartisan leadership.

276 Hell, I wonder what the damn toll on the Golden gate is now.

277 @266 I'm not letting you Navy guys get ahead of me on this.

If that was his informed discourse on the Fleet, can you imagine what his deeper thoughts on air power would sound like?

So. From my Air Force family -- the very same.
There. We agreed on something. Now let's get back to brawling.

280 I think that Romney played it well by being boring and not picking any fights nor producing any zingers. Obama desperately needs something to energize his base. He wanted to make Romney into a war monger who MUST be !!STOPPED!! before he kills us all. He wanted to make him look mean and cruel enough to -put you on the roof of the car with the dogs. Recall the attempt to stir up women with "binders" - clearly nothing to draw swing voters, blacks, or hispanics. That was an attempt to get the wooly-legged feminists off their butts and out to vote. This debate was aimed at the Code Pink crowd. They don't care much what Obama does, but they need a reason to hate Romney -to portray him as Bush's evil twin. I don't think it worked, just as I don't believe that 'the binder effect' will last two more weeks. I think that Obama must find a way to animate his base quickly or lose. If he has an October surprise we should see it by Thursday or it'll be too late for it to get traction. Dems (who endorse any anal gratification behavior for themselves) love to paint Republicans as hypocrites. Therefore I betting on a fax copy of a DUI charge from Romney's college days.

281 can you imagine what his deeper thoughts on air power would sound like? Air Superiority Fighter: dead. Attack Aircraft: Delayed. Refueling Fleet: Yeah, sometime, maybe.

I had a girlfriend in Los Angeles, and one evening we were having dinner at some nondescript place, when who should appear but Drew Barrymore and whatever guy she was dating at the time (mid-90s). She and her date were so hammered, or stoned, or both that they could barely remain upright at their table.

Hmm.  I'm glad she cleaned up her act (somebody must have sat her down and told her what a wreck Uncle John turned out to be), but I would have liked to have met her back in those days; I suspect she'd have been hammered enough that even I could have hit it.

And hit it I would.  Like Capone at a dinner table.

283 @258 Northeast acquaintance tells me well-heeled Obamabots are headed this week to Ohio to drive dems to early polling. Mine lives in NYC- Unbelievable that they actually admit "Camp Obama 101" includes "persuasion training?" http://tinyurl.com/8u3ye8l
