Oh no, our fat annoying girlfriend is going to dump us!:
Meghan McCain on Why the Republican Party Needs to Wake Up
I know there are many out there, especially in the more conservative sphere, that regard me with disdain. I donÂ’t fit into the traditional Republican box that the wingnuts who have hijacked my party think all Republicans should....
if we donÂ’t move forward, adapt, and become relevant again, the Republican Party isnÂ’t going to survive. It will just continue to alienate more moderate voters like myself. If I donÂ’t see some changes in the next four years, IÂ’m going to consider registering as an Independent in 2016.

If she has two working brain cells that might collide into each other every now and then, she would realize her only value is as a Republican critic among the liberal pseudo-intellectuals who populate tv and webzines.
Registering as an independent would destroy her only asset. Seriously, even her large chest isn't an asset. Most fat girls have large chests.

Good Morning Morons. Today is Friday, November 16, 2012. On this day in 534 the Codex Justinianus was published. This was the compilation of all Roman civil law and was written by order of the emperor Justinian. It is where we get the term “justice”. Too bad we don't have any of this now.

And hereÂ’s a secret about him that the MFM will never publish. When the state did a huge cut back due t budget problems a few years ago, instead of laying off his staff he donated a huge part of his campaign funds to pay them and keep them working (he was a DA). I have never heard of ANY politician ever doing that before.

Sadly, compromise seems hard to come by, even though the consequences of going over the cliff — hundreds of billions of dollars of spending programs that are set to expire, along with the largest tax increase since World War II for virtually all income levels — was specifically designed to force compromise.
So, we will have to quit spending is a problem??? I donÂ’t think these people live on the same planet we do.

It's particularly eye opening as to the reasons why these companies are having to take these risks and how the Govt. (you knew they were in there somewhere) is the root cause of it all.

Perhaps she can hook up with Sean Hannity, Bill Kristol, David Frumpy and several "stars" on the NRO staff to form their own little political club, a comfy place where they can sit around sipping tea, nibbling on pastries and telling each other how "sensible" they are for becoming Democrats while NOT becoming Democrats.

There's not much solace in the aftermath, but one possible comfort is this: when lefties are the most confident, they express what they really think, because they think people actually like it. After last week, I don't know, maybe they do. But maybe not. Maybe they just haven't seen it like we have.
An early sign: Obama looking for even more tax increases than he tried to sandbag Boehner with in Woodward's book.
So maybe we should be thinking not so much "let it burn" as "let them feel totally confident." Give them the ball, which they have anyway, and be ready for the inevitable fumble.

TGIF, fellow morons. IÂ’d still be in bed right now, except thereÂ’s some baby daddy in town whoÂ’s expecting to get a pair of $500 sneakers for Christmas, so I canÂ’t disappoint him by failing to work and pay my fair share.
Just a few short stories today - the first comes to us courtesy of Clark Gable; ever the gentleman, he didnÂ’t provide names:
After one of MGM’s biggest stars had finished shooting for the day, he decided to surprise his famous actress wife on her birthday. Inviting a few other leading men (among whom was Gable) out to his home to provide the surprise, he brought the gang into the house and hid them at the foot of the stairs. Then he shouted to his wife, “I’ve got something special for your birthday!”
She had something special, too. As the gang jumped out to yell “surprise,” she, never suspecting there was anyone else in the house, appeared at the top of the stairs, whipped open her sheer nightgown and yelled, “It better be a fuck, because I need one!”
And now, more Gable:
Judy Garland’s first break in the movies was a small part in The Broadway Melody of 1938, where she played a starstruck teen singing “Dear Mister Gable” to a picture of the King. Gable hated the song. “You goddamn brat, you’ve ruined every one of my birthdays,” he told her years later when they met. “Every year they bring you out of the wallpaper to sing that song and it pisses me off.”
What Gable knew – and Garland didn’t – was that he was pissed off not because of her or because of the song, but because of its in-joke title. It was well known around MGM that Gable had, for years, been getting letters from a woman who was insistent that he was the father of her illegitimate child. Each letter began, “Dear Mister Gable. . .”
Another movie and another story:
In Billy Wilder’s masterpiece, Sunset Boulevard there is a scene where Joe Gillis (William Holden), the struggling screenwriter, shows up at a New Year’s Eve party thrown by his friend Artie Green (Jack Webb). As he comes in, a group is gathered around two men at a piano, and everyone is singing the song “Buttons and Bows.” The scene is, again, a Hollywood in-joke, since the men at the piano are Jay Livingston and Ray Evans, who wrote the song.
Originally, they had been hired to write an original song for the scene and came up with “The Paramount-Don’t-Want-Me Blues,” but the song was quickly scrapped. A good thing, too. Footage of the party scene with Livingston and Evans performing the song still survives; it’s a lousy song and would have stopped the movie dead in its tracks.
Now, let’s finish off with a joke. I’ve heard this one attributed to a number of comics, but I think I first heard it sourced to Don Rickles, who once greeted Sinatra by saying, “Make yourself at home, Frank. Hit somebody.”
“I love Frank Sinatra,” Rickles’ joke began. “I do. Do you know he once saved my life? A couple of big gorillas were beating the crap out of me outside of the Sands when Frank walked up. He only said four words, but they saved my life: ‘OK, fellows, that’s enough.’”
I hope you all have a wonderful day and a great weekend. IÂ’ll be back on Monday with the story of the director Thomas Ince, whose death spawned a Hollywood legend and even played a part in the plot of Citizen Kane.

The new contract offered by Hostess cut salaries across the company by 8% in the first year of the five-year agreement. Salaries were then scheduled to bump up 3% in the next three years and 1% in the final year.
Hostess also reduced its pension obligations and its contribution to the employees' health care plan. In exchange, the company offered concessions, including a 25% equity stake for workers and the inclusion of two union representatives on an eight-member board of directors.

I think there's still a subtle difference. I take "let it burn" to mean, as I think you're saying, "let them put their ideas into practice. Their ideas don't work, so they will naturally fail, and people, seeing the failure, will reject them and their ideas."
What I'm saying is "let them feel confident, so that they openly propose their most cherished ideas, which are so horrifying that people will recoil." The good thing about this notion is that it discredits them earlier.

The media is the problem, has always been.
Here is a good example of how corrupt the media is:
ABC
McCain Misses Classified Briefing While Blasting White House Over Benghazi
Meanwhile on the actual day of the attack when our Embessy was being sacked and our Ambassedor was being murdered, Obama was jetting off for a fundraiser in Vegas while he was sending out his flunky to lie!
Does anyone think this would have been allowed to stand uncommented on if Obama were a Republican?
He deigns to give a press conference, he is only asked by a FOX reporter what he did or didn't do and he says NOTHING!
No followups from the assembled media, no pointed questions just more blow jobs.
WHERE THE FUCK ARE OUR SAM DONALDSONS!!!!
It's a fucking joke.

I have literally avoided it for almost ten years. However last week I had lunch with one of the gloaters and after asking me to come to Thanksgiving this year he asked me what we were going to do when the economy collapsed. Mind you, he still voted for the communist, but now he's worried. Another cousin told me a while ago that she knows that the SCOAMF doesn't know what to do about the economy but she's glad she voted for Barry because uterus.

Obama is such a rich source of incompetence that you could probably go on for an hour about how their vote will impact their lives over the next 365 days.

Here's the gag and the joke too many do not get.
Pelosi, Reid, and Choom own the nation....
watch Choom willtry to use the courts to force Hostess to operate at a loss..."for the good of the people" and then when the investors run like hell his allies will buy the corpse on the cheap and suddenly the union will "see the light."
If that happens and people don't get the message that was sent in the GM and Chrysler raids and start pushing to fix or end this mess we are done.
This is like Crassus' games with the fire department.

A lot of people were surprised that the Teamsters were smart enough to accept the deal with Hostess. I wasn't. Even though the Teamsters and the Longshoremen were almost entirely run by the Mafia at one time, they were still the most practical to deal with. They knew when to compromise and when to give in. Of course they also knew how to 'negotiate' too. The worst union I worked with was the UAW. They were and are greedy lazy little SOBs.
Also a lot of the people affiliated with Hostess will be affected, like the route drivers who may be franchisees. Then there are the suppliers who will lose money too. Yeah life's a bitch.

LONDON (Reuters) - Major banks have announced some 160,000 job cuts since early last year and with more layoffs to come as the industry restructures, many will leave the shrinking sector for good as redundancies outpace new hires by roughly two-to-one.
A Reuters analysis of job cuts announced by 29 major banks showed the layoffs were much bigger in Europe than in Asia or the United States. That is a particular blow to Britain where the finance industry makes up roughly 10 percent of the economy.

I hear what you're saying, but it doesn't quite come together. Let's imagine that the U.S. splits. Won't happen either -- a nation that has fought a civil war to avoid a schism will not lie down for another. But let's follow out the idea anyway.
It wouldn't be Sharia. Not because libs have anything to defend against Sharia -- they are resolutely opposed to having principles, so they could be subsumed by this more dominant principle. But merely because, unlike England, we are blessed with having neither geographic nor Colonial ties to sufficient numbers of Muslims to make it happen. No, what it would be is unbridled leftism. What they would show you would be the same thing we will all face without schism -- what happens when "you run out of other people's money" (Thatcher).
Also, and I won't elaborate without encouragement, because this post is long enough, but the other thing you neglect is the extraordinary momentum of history. None of ours tends that way.

I see it more as a barter. You give up this material thing in exchange for more sanity on the other side.
Its human nature for people to care more about something they got a real stake in.
If I'm management, that higher level of care and attention is worth something to me. The employees take better care of equipment, they make more cost saving suggestions, etc.

The soil you stand on when you get out of bed is from secession.
I would not be leaving to perpetuate evil or over anything minor if it comes to that I will actually be of a mind I am defending my nation.
Problem is I guess too many think Barack gives two fucks about our heritage or our system.
So I may just have the land under my two shoes in a corner of somewhere.
This nation is over.
The libs left in 2001 or 1968.

On a tour of Sandy-ravaged Staten Island, President Barack Obama met Thursday with Damien and Glenda Moore, whose 2- and 4-year-old boys died after being ripped from their mother's arms by the devastating superstorm.
While the meeting took place behind closed doors, the White House released a picture on its official Flickr photo stream.
In remarks later on Cedar Grove Avenue, Obama described his emotional meeting with the bereaved parents.
Funny how George Bush was responsible for all of the death and destruction in the wake of Katrina but Prezzy Photo Op is the big hero. I'm sure the Flickr photo stream made life all that much better. Has Barry met with and consoled the parents who's children were killed in Benghazi?

I wanted to see a video that had been linked in one of the e-mails sent by Ann Romney during the campaign, but instead this is what came up:
"I still believe in the people of America. And so Ann and I join with you to earnestly pray for this great nation.
Thank you, and God bless America."

Sven, I do not doubt your resolve or your motives, nor do I question your evaluation of the Left or their current apostle. But I do doubt, strongly, the viability of secession, in this country, for the foreseeable future.

some I got 5 hours last night.
I decided I am gonna wait until the holiday trip down to Myrtle beach and ponder some things.
I'll visit my mother in law a bit but I have nothing nice to say about the daughter she's moving in with and will go stare at the water a bit.
I'm making up my mind about some things and will be rested I sleep well on the shore.

Hmmm.... I say they were the easiest to deal with because they were practical. I don't think we need them unionized but that's pretty much a done deal now.

If the decision is made STARKLY to force the American people to choose socialism ran so stupidly it is communism by default or leaving I suspect we'll leave if it happens in the next 6 years.
Past that you are bang on and it will be silently strangled in its crib.

about the Clark Gable post - I used to read a lot of old Hollywood biographies. Carole Lombard used to joke about her husband's big butt and little tool.
Posted by: kallisto at November 16, 2012 08:42 AM (jm/9g)
OK, one last one, for you, kallisto - Lombard said both, "If Clark was one inch bigger, he'd be the Queen of Hollywood" and (I believe at a party with Tallulah Bankhead, who evinced interest in bedding Gable) "Christ, I love Clark, but my clit is bigger than his dick."
Bye now.

Oh I've seen the unions from the inside out. I worked for the UAW way back when. And yeah they suck big time. Without a doubt the laziest and greediest bunch of Aholes I have ever met and I have two ex-husbands. LOL And I doubt things have changed over the years.
When I was married we owned a small trucking company so I got to know the Teamsters and Longshoremen pretty well...again. way back when. Personally I would rather have dealt with the Teamsters than the independents. But in fairness to both of them, government regulations for truckers are ridiculous. Of course many don't exactly follow the rules, but then who can blame them. In all my so-called careers, dealing with the FMCSA and DOT has to rank as the most time consuming idiotic rules/forms driven one I ever had. And that's saying something.

They were normal seeming fun-loving guys who were not stuck-up in the least. They got to do cool adventures on breaks, unlike the rest of us, but were excited about life and never seemed bored or jaded.
Probably how they were brought up...especially if Dad was self-made.

You do your best but in the end all you can do is hope the addict helps themselves and be there once you know the recovery is in good faith to help.
I do know unlike Yawn Ban Jovi I have never used my job as a politicial platform to 10s of thousands while my life was a wreck.
