— Gabriel Malor Happy Monday.
Florida election officials are busy demonstrating once again that they're barely competent. Lawsuits are ensuing.
Here's a noteworthy piece on negative advertising.

Wonder Boys
A successful first novel made Grady Tripp a young star, and years later he still hasnÂ’t grown up despite his professorship, estranged wife, and pregnant girlfriend. This satire of the permanent adolescence of the creative class is mordant, humane, and features characters as loveably flawed as any in American fiction.
And thatÂ’s it for Monday.

Yeah, I've been watching that. Due to global warming it may just hit my area as an eight inch snowfall. In the first week of November, for crying out loud.
Usually our snow period is from mid Dec. to mid Feb.

I was just going to compile a list of Republicans that the Democrats claim. MLK was near the top. They also claim Abe Lincoln -- who I have mixed feelings about. Not over slavery, but the entire issue of states rights vs federal government.

All the hullabaloo over voting in the flaccid penis state is nonsense. Absentee voting was open to all comers with a simple request via email. Absent that, a phone call was sufficient to bring the ballot.
I suspect the wailing and teeth gnashing is muscle flexing prior to election day. Without doubt, the Marxist will double-down on extracting a pound of flesh from Governor Romney and Congressman Alan West. Lock and load!

Whoever is doing the closed-caption transcription for the constant Obama commercials on ESPN is clearly not voting for him. I hit the mute button during the commercial breaks and the CC comes on automatically on this tv.
Anyhow, all the other commercials, they come across perfectly fine. But the Obama commercial is a festival of misspellings and incomplete sentences. It's especially funny that they misspell Barky's name--I mean, who doesn't know how to spell his name? So it seems that they're taking a small dig at him.
Warms my heart.

My schedule tomorrow....
Get the kids up, and ready for school, (and out the door).
Get my wife up, and dressed. Heh.
Get the baby dressed warm, and then head to the fire station, and vote!
I'll spend the rest of my day watching/reading the news, and snickering at the usual cries of Suppression! by the left in heavily democratic areas in transparent attempts at getting a few more people to vote. Then it's all lawyers and lawsuits for the rest of the day until the polls close, and numbers start coming out. An early call for PA, and/or Ohio for Romney will seal the deal, and I'll start the gloating on a few other sites I frequent.

Friends tell me they are fairly certain the shenanigans in Florida are part of the Democratic effort to throw this election into turmoil and question. Many of the voters purposely overwhelmed several polling station/lines to give the appearance of impropriety.
Notice the speed with which the lawsuit was filed by Democrats.
The whole thing reeks. But has the media questioned who is in line? Are they eligible? Was there a concerted effort by any particular group to perpetrate this phony incident?
No of course the media didn't ask the tough questions. IT's simply the "evil" Republicans voter suppression efforts.

Smart guy, your Grandpa Mutt. :-) I vote no on anything unless I'm dead certain it's a good change (mostly, that means it's one that limits government power). I think we only have 2 on the Virginia ballot this time, but there's only one that I will vote for (makes it harder to steal private property with eminent domain) no matter how many are actually on it.

That's my worry. I don't want to spend a month waiting for the lawyers, and courts to decide who we voted for. No hanging chad recounts. No BS.
That's why turnout is so important. An overwhelming win in each state that Romney takes is crucial.

Was passing through the area over the weekend, and neighborhoods that once had a ton of Obama signs in '08 had very few this 'go round and yet had oodles and oodles of Romney signs. We're talking 2 to 1 margins, at least. One area that had basically all Obama signs in '08 and lots of 'em now had a whopping total of 2. And 2 Romney signs (I don't remember McCain signs there last time).
Hopefully happy days are about to be here again.

You have to win by more than the "margin of fraud" yes. That's my worry. I am pretty much certain that Romney will get more votes (and more EVs) if you just count real, live eligible voters voting. But when you have to factor in the undead and illegals and NAACP revolving door voting...well, that worries me. Dems will lie, cheat and still. It's what they do; it's what they are.

If it's because of tree limbs coming down you should write a polite
letter to your utility describing the number of times you've lost electricity,
how the damage was caused by trees, and ask them to please check their records for the last time your area had tree trimming crews. Wouldn't
hurt to have your neighbors do the same thing.
We had a tree crew work our area last spring and I was amazed that we didn't
lose power this time. Part of every electric bill goes toward that sort of preventive maintenance.

Good morning, ‘rons and ‘ronettes. I hope you all had a great weekend.
TodayÂ’s entry is a little long and a little dark, because IÂ’m feeling dark. First is a Hollywood story, then a rant by me, so once youÂ’ve finished the story, you can just skip the rest. Because thatÂ’s the kind of giver I am.
One of the best films about the soul-destroying power of publicity and celebrity is the 1957 Burt Lancaster / Tony Curtis Sweet Smell of Success. Beginning life as a Collier’s short story, “Hunsecker Fights the World,” it was press agent Ernest Lehman’s attempt to expiate his guilt for being one of the little fish who fed big fish like Walter Winchell (who was the inspiration for Hunsecker) gossip and secrets that made men like WW more powerful, in his own way, than President Eisenhower.
Through a number of machinations, Lehman was asked to write the screenplay, and from the beginning, he had nothing but fear and contempt for Lancaster. “People were frightened of Burt, and he never did anything to make people unfrightened of him.” On his first day at the lavish production offices for Sweet Smell, he was talking to Harold Hecht, a former bookie and hoofer who helped found the production company of Hecht-Hill-Lancaster. “I was sitting with Harold Hecht. The door opened and in walked a towering, impressive figure. He was zipping up his fly and smiling proudly, saying, ‘She swallowed it.’ That was my introduction to Burt Lancaster.”
Working with the venal Hecht, the sleazy Hill and the angry Lancaster (who was also known as a prolific woman-beater, among other achievements) ruined Lehman’s health, and his doctor ordered him to get off the movie. The doctor repeated the order to the production company, whose only response (and the doctor never repeated who said it) was “I hope the son of a bitch dies.”
Sweet Smell of Success was a flop at the box office; it was too cynical for the America of 1957 and the public wasn’t prepared to see two popular stars like Lancaster and Curtis play such rotten shits. At a party after the preview, a finally healthy Lehman found himself sitting at a table with Lancaster, who suddenly turned on him. “You weren’t that sick, Ernie,” he snarled, angy at the failure of the movie. “You didn’t have to leave the picture. I ought to punch you in the jaw right here and now!”
“Go ahead, Burt,” Lehman said. “I need the money.”
And now for my ranty lament:
One last day, ‘rons and ‘ronettes. Dear God, have mercy on us, only one more day of this un-American Marxist and his nasty, grasping, ghetto-trash beard. I’d like to think that. But let me share with you some thoughts from a column in the local paper (the Sunday Eagle-Tribune), penned by a fellow who teaches government and politics at the local community college and who claims to have worked on eight Dem and Rep presidential campaigns:
Mitt Romney received no “bounce” from his nominating convention in Tampa. According to Gallup, he actually lost one point in the polls. . .President Obama received a median five-point bounce. . .whereas the DNC was crisp and breezy, the RNC was staid and stale.
According to NBC/WSJ and Marist College polls, Obama has a comfortable lead in Wisconsin. . .not looking good if a VP candidate canÂ’t deliver his home state.
According to recent polling data from organizations such as Gallup, Ipsos (who?) and Rasmussen. . .most of the individual battleground state polls continue to show Obama with small to comfortable leads. And the battleground states are where this election will be won.
RomneyÂ’s competitors from the GOP primaries and caucuses have been conspicuously absent from the general election campaign, and their silence speaks volumes about their enthusiasm for Romney. Allowing Romney to be defeated clears the way for Rick Santorum, in particular, to begin the process of what is likely to be a 2016 re-try. Speaking of enthusiasm, Ann Romney did not seem to have much of it recently when she publicly stated that if her husband loses, he will not try again in 2016. Sounds like a tacit write-off of Nov. 6.
When all is said and done, Obama will win re-election. He should receive around 51 percent of the popular vote and around 300 electoral votes, possibly more.
Now, the Horde has known me long enough to know I’m not a Concerned Christian Conservative, but columns like that make me wonder – is he trapped so deep in his bubble he can’t see the weighted posts, or is this country really so bent on suicide as to reelect the SCOAMF?
I so want to shove this column back in the guy’s face with a letter to the editor next Sunday. If you’re not working a phone bank or some other GOTV / ORCA duty, just think of this braying jackass and how good it will feel to laugh “how’s that 51 and 300 working for you, chief?” at cockholsters like this for the next four years.
Sorry about that. My gut tells me we’ll win – already you can read blog posts, letters and opinion pieces asking why the country is so divided and how we really need more bipartisanship (Dem code for “Shit. We are going to get our asses kicked on Tuesday. I hope the GOP stays the spineless wimps we want them to be.”) – but my heart and head aren’t. This is why I’m not watching the returns tomorrow night – I couldn’t take the sight of votes piling up for the Taupe Dope. I’m just going to wake up Wednesday morning and turn on the radio.
Sorry for the downer, friends in a box. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

I'd rather the latter than the former, although it would be sweet to have Paul Ryan cast all the deciding votes to move our agenda along.
Especially the repeal of 0-care, considering how it was rammed down our throats.

It would give Paul significant skin in the game and thats good for his election in 2020.

Me too. Important to remember, they tried telling us in '04 that Kerry was going to win it, and they did it by fudging polls, playing shenanigans with polling stations, vote counting, newspaper headlines, etc.... all the same stuff they're doing this year.
It didn't work then, it won't work now.
I don't know about anyone else, but in '08 I stopped all contact with politics just after the conventions. Everyone knew who was going to win, and it was pointless to pretend we didn't.
We know who is going to win this year, and that's why many of us are still hanging around. It's also why you don't hear anything like enthusiasm coming from the left.

Then I would definitely write a letter. You might have a bunch of goofy libs in your area that get pissed off when they plant an inappropriate tree near power lines and the tree crews come along and 'top' it. So, to avoid the outrage they just stay out of area and let nature takes its course, which it will.
Anyone that plants a tree that will grow to more then 30 feet near utility lines is just asking for it. You know as well as I that libs are the dumb.

My general rule of thumb is to not pay attention to what 99.9% of professors say about politics, because of the fact that so many of them aren't just liberals, they are blazing communists and proud of it. In that spirit, I would not let that op-ed worry you one little bit.
I don't know what will happen. My gut also tells me we win, but I am nervous too. Can't help but be. The important thing now is to work, vote, and drag Mitt and Paul over the line. The two possibilities are that this guy is trapped in a bubble or we're trapped in a bubble. There are two pieces of evidence that lead me to believe that it's him and not us. First is the Scott Walker recall. Everyone in the press expected that to be razor thin; in fact, it was not even close. Second is Chick-Fil-A. That thing was entirely word of mouth, there was no big media push, no publicity campaign. People knew about and showed up, the press was taken completely off guard, and then when they found out about it they blew it off because it didn't fit into their preprogrammed model.
We see these polls showing the race as a tie and with large Democrat overweighting. I don't know that the polling outfits are doing this to try to influence the election; rather, I think they're doing it because they don't trust their own results. They believe that the election is going to be close because that's what conventional wisdom says, so they either consciously or subconsciously tweak the data to fit their expected results. I also think that all of the polling outfits are hesitant to step out on a limb as no one wants to be thought of as the crank. If one company says it's not going to be as close as the experts thing, and that one company is wrong, then that company will take a lot of heat. However, if every company is wrong then no one company can be embarrassed.

As a taxpayer obligated to fund the local ISD, the last time this came up in debate a few years ago, the curriculum being tested by the State was limited to educational fundamentals.
If time is the constraint, given that the results of tests reflect each student's preparation, taxpayers need to complain that the burden of responsibility be placed back where it belongs on each individual. Students and Teachers, do your homework on schedule every day, and report for testing on Saturdays, attendance mandatory.
That'll be the day... when "no child left behind" public education actually trains the lazy, stubborn and insubordinate students with countermeasure job skills rather than persist enforcing conformity of failure within the only "acceptable" college-prep track. Results? Accountability? Get back to basics: Expectations.

Nah, if they don't screen well for likely voters, it's their fault.
Either way, it is silly.

My father and I were wondering yesterday what exactly TFG's concession speech will sound like. His theory is that it will be something like, "I cannot in good conscience concede yet, and will fight to ensure that all Americans are allowed the right to vote without impediment, overcoming Rethuglican disenfranchisement, blah, blah, blah."
I disagree. I honestly don't think Obama WANTS to win re-election. He doesn't like having to work this hard; it gets in the way of his personal time. The only reason he has any urge to win is his ego, which is so huge that Narcissus caught sight of it and said, "Whoa, that dude is CONCEITED." So when it comes time to concede (and have no doubt, he WILL be the one conceding), I think his speech will be more along the lines of, "The country isn't ready for my awesomeness, you're not worthy of me, and I'm going to take my ball and go home."

Regardless, it is in the margin of error. And frankly I don't trust NBC, ha!

Whereas, the election computers require a volunteer to literally make your entry for you on screen, accessing a cumbersome "ballot". The computer must process page changes to get from one office to the next, requiring excessive time given a crowd waiting in cue for their turn to vote. Regardless of time wasted in the process of attempting to vote by casting your ballot on inefficient computer screens, there are always far too many voters who dawdle at the poll, completely unprepared for all the other offices being contested in each election.
As the sale's pitch for computer ballots was "efficiency", they take far longer for a voter to complete and submit than the fill-in-the-blank paper ballot. As per cost, paper ballots are far less expensive for elections than computers. And as for what security in prevention of election fraud can be taken, paper ballots win over computers. Besides, in order to access a ballot from the computer, it knows your exact identity, tracking your choices. There really is no expectation of "privacy" with that, no matter the propaganda to the contrary.
From local counties to each voter's State, this should be THE issue for redress 2013.

3) Americans just changed their minds at the last minute.

O+0.50% - Current RCP Average
R+1.30% - Average using the D+3 turnout model
R+3.60% - Average using the 2010 turnout model
R+4.17% - Average using the Rasmussen Party ID turnout model
This is a special version I am running where I have thrown out all the old polls that are a week old and have not been updated. I'm also throwing out the CNN poll because it is an obvious outlier that skews the averages too far in Romney's direction.
The polls are trending toward a Romney victory of between 3 and 4 points right now.

Democratic turn out has always been affected by the weather - bad weather, lower turnout - while Republican turnout is not affected nearly as much. The MSM is trying to tell us that a weather disaster will positively affect Democratic turn out? Sorry, that doesn't compute.
In addition, remember the most reliable Democratic voters have already been tallied in early voting - leaving only the unreliable voters to turn out on election day. They are unreliable because things like bad weather keep them from voting. So the claim is that the unreliable Democratic voters are going to literally crawl through broken glass to vote for Obamao - when they didn't have that much enthusiasm for him in the first place?
Just more media lies in an attempt to suppress Republican voting by discouragement.

Among the directives:
Displaced voters may cast provisional ballots at any polling place in New Jersey.
If a voter casts a ballot in a county other than where they are registered, the county in which they voted must either hand-deliver or mail via overnight delivery the ballot to the home county, which will then count the ballot.''

I voted early in Florida for Romney/Ryan. This required photo ID to match my aging supermodel face and the address matching my casa. Then I got a printed receipt with my name and precinct. Another volunteer got the two page ballot, read my precinct number out loud (with pointing to numbers in the event I might be a Democrat) from both pages, matching this to the number on the receipt. I then had to initial my receipt before I could finally vote. Do not tell me that the entire state is incompetent when you lump us on the same short bus as those bozos in South Florida. Let's pretend, for a moment, that you're not lying. I know, it's a stretch, but just go with me here.
the "final PPP poll" is not what PPP was saying. See, almost everybody tries to get the "final poll" right- as a way to regain their reputation after a full cycle of shilling for one candidate or the other. As we've seen in this race (2% of those who already voted are "undecided?" seriously?), that isn't guaranteed to work, either- but their work is actually already done. Their "work" was done last week. That was the culmination of their previous preposterous polling. This most recent round is a fig leaf for them to say,"Oh, we saw a lot of movement," "We saw a shift in momentum," or (as will probably be this year's excuse,) "We knew our data was bad, but the answers we get are the answers we get. We can only publish what we actually find!"
On the other hand, there's you. You most certainly were telling us- up to the day of the election, that Walker was going to lose the recall. You still haven't cleaned that egg off of your face.

Oh, the Blue is just for the celebratory drink. Or two. Actual drunkenness will be achieved through other, cheaper, means.

now that they can't write "Obama is a stuttering clusterfuck of a miserable failure/tyrant" anymore?
I don't see why we can't continue to refer to Bammy as a SCOAMF/SCOAMT. Just because he's getting kicked out of office doesn't mean he's not still the miserable waste of space he was when he first got inaugurated.

I woke up this morning, wide-eyed at 3:30, thinking of the family who arrived to vote only to be told that they'd "already voted." Further inquiry determined that their votes were cast for Obama and that they couldn't do anything about it until mid-November.
I'm dyin' here.

True that. I'm reading about a miles long backlog of cars waiting to get onto Long Beach Island that started 8 pm last night. They'll have 8 hours to get in and get out with whatever they can take. Since the homes will have no heat for as much as six months because they've shut off gas lines and need to rebuild the entire system, they've gotta do winter prep, too or face broken water heaters, toilets, plumbing in the spring.

Lol. The only reason I have a bottle of it is because the wife and I honeymooned in the Bahamas. The shop in our hotel had it for $125. Still expensive, but there was no way I was walking away from that. It's only been opened once in the last 9 1/2 years. At the christening of our first child, which was the first grandchild for either family. I fixed 3 drinks, one for me, one each for the godparents. (Wife was nursing obv) I thought it tasted better than sex. The godparents both choked and poured coke in it. I "might" have lost my shit a little at them.

I'm in SW PA where the dog mauled the child. Everyone here knew of it and was aghast that the mother did not jump in to save the child. Two take aways:
1) Mother waited for help = nanny state mentality = Darwin award ( mind you that this is a tradgedy and I am not thrilled to point this out.
2) These people that all knew of this trdgedy know nothing of Benghazi which is more than a trdgedy it is treasonous as well.
3) I Lied there is three. Our culture may be beyond repair without a little fertilization of the tree of liberty.

Note well all cues both verbal and physical of any significant characters that you encounter. Take a series of mental snap shots, because in this time of surreal and serpentine media communication and mixed social messaging, when the single most difficult thing to determine is the unvarnished truth, you will both see and hear it, whether intentionally or involuntarily.
It will be invaluable going forward.

For the most part, I don't think it is either. In the last week their likely voter screens have been destroyed by Democrats claiming to have already voted. It is a campaign tactic being used to artificially inflate the polls and make them tighter.
I also think there's some confirmational bias built into these poll results. The companies expect Jugears to win and thus they are tweaking their data to make it fit into their expectation. My guess is that their unweighted data is showing a Mittens lead outside the MOE and they just don't believe it to be true. so they reweight to get to something that they think conforms more closely to reality.
