1 Good Morning Morons.  Today is Thursday, November 08, 2012.  On this day in 1895 Wilhelm Röntgen discovered the X-ray.  On Nov 9 comic books had ads on the last page for X-Ray glasses for horny teens.

3 The first inkling of exit polls.  Keep in mind that these answers reflect opinions of the people who voted, not the ones who stayed at home. Although Obama voters declined by 10 million, Romney voters also declined by 2 million.  That we did not expect.  I havenÂ’t checked turnout in the key swing States yet.  But looking at the people who actually voted it looks like minorities and Hispanics gave it to Obama.  Remember the ground game by the Dems is the union GOTV.  Both OH and VA are heavy union States and they gave it to Obama.   This is where I see Republicans needing work.  They are going to either have to destroy the unions or get something comparable.  But from the people who voted it appears that (1) The hurricane helped Obama (thank you MFM and Fat Man)  (2) They blamed Bush for the bad economy (thank you MFM)

5 Harry Reid will attempt to end the filibuster.  IIANM he can do that at the beginning of the upcoming term with a simple majority while voting in the rules.   He needs to remember though, what goes around comes around.  We will not always have Senate candidates who stick their feet and their own dicks in their mouth responding stupidly to questions from the MFM.

12 Good morning. Remember. The purpose of politics is to engage in family and personal life better. Think of the political challenges our ancestors faced. Ours may be big and we'll never fix them all. But are they really so much bigger? Go back far enough along your family lines, and I don't think you'll find it so.

13 To my Conservative friends: Just because we lost doesn't mean we were wrong. Our principles and beliefs, true to the founding, are the bedrock of all that we believe and strive to acheive. They are neither immoral nor unjust and altering them at the whim of the electorate, or compromising them at the behest of the deeply biased media makes us complicit in our own demise. If this is the last hill, so be it. I'd rather finish with my chest out, integrity intact, swinging than mewling apologies and begging forgivness from a group of people that think I'm a racist, mysogynstic, homophobic bigot.

14 BEAVERCREEK — A Mitt Romney supporter has chosen a unique way to express his dissatisfaction with the election results, and neighbors are taking notice. News Center 7 received calls Wednesday night from residents in Beavercreek who were not happy about their neighbor flying the U.S. flag upside-down. One caller said it might not be illegal, but it’s offensive to the people in the neighborhood. Despite what his neighbors think, Ray Lewis said flying the flag upside-down is an international symbol of distress and he felt compelled to do it as a form of “peaceful protest” following the re-election of President Barack Obama.

Morning, all.

18 We will not always have Senate candidates who stick their feet and their own dicks in their mouth responding stupidly to questions from the MFM.

From the results any candidate who is asked about abortion or rape on camera might as well find a set of electrified tracks and lay down directly across that third rail before answering.

I know here in Pa, Obama campaign ran a video of Romney saying something about 'going after Roe Vs Wade'. Over and over and over again.

19 The first article in the sidebar from American Thinker sums it all up. We can bitch and moan about "outreach," demographics, depressed turnout, Akin and Mourdock, Sandy and Krispy Kreme, and the MFM from now until the end of time. The fact is is that we lost this election decades ago, when the Marxists took over the classrooms and brainwashed several generations of American youth, and poisoned them to turn against us. I screamed and wailed endlessly about taking back the schools. Well, it's too late now. G-d help us all.

That's what Obama got, from white people.

There is a  map that shows which states Obama would have lost, if only white votes were counted.  It included California and New York.  It did not, interestingly, include Iowa.

This may not be the ONLY explanation of the results we saw on Tuesday, but it's huge.

We ran the candidate that lost to McCain in the primaries of 07-08. If Romney had garnered as many votes as McCain in 08 it would have been a victory.

28 In-depth analysis of vote totals VA and OH

VA

2012

R = 1,781,445
D = 1,891,486

2008

R = 1,725,005
D = 1,959,532

R down by about 30K, D down by 70K

OH

2012

R - 2,586,467
D - 2,686,609

2008

R - 2,677,820
D - 2,940,044
R down by ~ 100K, D down by ~  254K

So in both cases Democrat votes went down considerably, but so did Republicans. It follows the national numbers.  We expected our side to have a wave and the wave never came.   That is the story of the election.  So the unions did not give it to the Dems in these two States.  Republicans sitting at home gave it to them.  How could many of us, and especially me, have been so wrong on the Republican turnout?  Are we truly an isolated group feeding ourselves with regenerative political feedback?  (Another thing to keep in mind is that the Republican and Democrat turnout in 2008 was down from 2004.)

Remember what I and a lot of people have tried to hammer home over and over. The candidate who inspires his base to get to the polls and vote is the one who wins.  Romney did not inspire the base.  That is the short and final answer.

So piss on all these pundits calling for Republicans to pander to certain blocks to “expand” the Party.  We should not “pander” to any group.  If we do that we become the Democrats.  We should offer a Party plank of conservatism for all regardless of ethnic origins.  Republicans need to change their Primary rules to get a candidate who inspires the base. Would my man Perry have had a different turnout?  We will never know, but it could not have been any worse.  We lost to the worst President in modern history under an economy that is truthfully in another great depression.

30 We lost because Independents didn't get excited for Mitt. Why that is will be a subject of debate for some time. My personal guess is that people saw the two men as advocating basically the same positions (Obama: raise taxes on the rich, Romney: close their loopholes to raise revenue). This coupled with ingrained, stupid cynicism lead people to stay away when they thought there were going to be long lines at the polling places. The big takeaway, I think, is a need to make inroads with minorities, and I think we do this with social issues.

Vic, given the current state of the GOP, do you think he really has to worry about being in the minority at any point in his lifetime? I sure don't. Besides, he can depend on the spineless GOP to not do the same to he and the Dems anyway, if they do look up and get a majority back at some point.  He has absolutely no reason to worry about future punishment for doing this, not from the GOP wusses.

And here we are again, fellow ‘rons and ‘ronettes.

“Bitter recriminations” is right.  But, in the middle of trying to black out (it takes more than just one bottle of MacallanÂ’s 12, IÂ’m here to tell you), it occurred to me that we conservatives are now like the monks of Iona during the Dark Ages, trying to preserve Western civilization against the rampaging savages.  Perhaps we may keep the light of freedom burning long enough for a new Alfred or Arthur or Roland to take America back from the vandals who are plundering what they despise.  I suspect Mark Steyn could do a better analysis along those lines than I can.

HereÂ’s a story about Darryl Zanuck, chief of Twentieth Century-Fox:

When he was satisfied with a rough cut of a new movie, Zanuck would get a few of his staff together and preview it cold before an unsuspecting audience.  Then, while one assistant collected the comment cards the audience had filled out, Zanuck and the rest of his staff would do what he called a “curbside autopsy” – stand in a huddle outside of the theater to discuss if the movie needed further editing.

After one particular preview, Zanuck and his men were standing in front of a candy store discussing the movie.  As they spoke, a man walked out of the theater, joined them, and told them what he thought.  Everyone in the group assumed  he was from the studio, so they listened carefully to his comments, Zanuck occasionally breaking in with an “I like that” or “you might be on to something there.”

After the man left, Zanuck said, “That guy knows his stuff.  What department is he with?”

The assistants looked at each other in confusion.  “We donÂ’t know, Mr. Zanuck,” one finally said.  “We thought you knew him.”

Zanuck ordered an assistant to go fetch the man, who was halfway down the block.  When he was brought back, Zanuck eyed him narrowly.  “Do you know who I am?”

The man shrugged.  “Nope.”

“IÂ’m Darryl Zanuck.  IÂ’m the head of Twentieth.  Do you work in the movies?”

“Nope.”

“Well, you do now,” Zanuck barked.  “YouÂ’re my new PA.  Report to the studio first thing tomorrow.”

And IÂ’ll see you all first thing tomorrow.

41 What the "right" of both parties used to have, to counteract the unions' influence, was veterans organizations. Peace ampersand prosperity, the VA, and really effective educational work have neutered that -- and yet a poll worker might still have to deal with a fat guy in a Vietnam hat bitching about no flag being up the pole at the closed senior-citizen center owned by his town government that they almost forgot to unlock, while getting his card punched to vote for the cocksucker who left the seals to die in Benghazi, cut the nukes to 300, and decommissioned the Enterprise -- how was your day, by the way?

42 When I was young(er), there was a certain time-frame of expectations. By the age of 30 it was expected that you were married, had a full time job, were settled in a career in a position that would be around for a couple of decades. You might have had a house, maybe some children, and were acutely aware of  affairs in the community, school, and nation. I believe the word 'vested' would be appropriate.

Fast forward to 2012 where 5 million of the perpetually coddled children of baby-boomer parents between the ages of 18 to 30 decided this election. They now can't even be expected to graduate college before they are 26 years of age. Obama and ObamaCare took care of continuing their health insurance to that age. Romney was going to repeal their new little perk. They may marry, before 30, but it is becoming statistically more rare. The entire venture into adulthood and becoming vested in a community and paying into the tax system has been pushed back nearly a decade. So what were their 'hot buttons' -- or at least the ones that the Democrats thought and capitalized on?

1. The sanctity of abortion in their eyes - third rail for (R)'s
2. Birth control -- free or at least universal insurance coverage -- maybe nobody wanted to see Sandra Flake in person but she got front page attention

I don't have the answer.

Posted by: Schrödinger's cat [/i] at November 08, 2012 03:13 AM (feFL6)

43 Yes, the GOP once again nominated a candidate to appeal to the independents and the independents once again said, "eh, well, he's okay, but I got better things to do than vote." And a lot of the base said, "well, they sure don't seem to care much about what we think so why bother?" And, presto!, you have 3 million fewer votes than a train wreck of a campaign like McLame ran managed.

If you give people a choice between a Democrat and a Democrat, they'll pick the Democrat every single time. And I saw that as someone who thinks Mitt ran as good a campaign as a candidate such as Mitt could run, and who thinks he's a really quality human being. (shrug) Being a good guy doesn't win you elections these days.

I hate conspiracy theories, but I have an American colleague here, does part-time work in our office, former Obama supporter now big-time Republican, but still with close friends in the Democrat community.  All she heard in the weeks going into the election was that Dem turnout would be low as the election was already in the bag.  Her theory is that well-known plans for fraud is what caused the huge early voting among Republicans--again, her anecdotal evidence--as a means to try to combat the fraud, and what brought turnout down on election day, for both parties.  For whatever it's worth.  I just found it interesting because in the thousands of words of analysis I have read, I hadn't read that.

63 >>> Probably not true. If you read those exit polls Romney took the majority of the independents. But those are the ones that voted. Running on a platform of taking away free stuff from minorities demonstrably doesn't work. So, try the God route.

74 As to breaking the unions, I have an anecdotal story.  Was on the way to meet son (USAFA student) at West Point last weekend.  Was filling the tank at last station in PA before entering NJ.  Was next to a tree trimming truck from Alabama.  Man in line behind him asked if he was heading in to help.  He got an earful "No, I'm going home.  Came to help, make some extra cash, was turned away because I'm not union"  Was pretty irate.  The three drivers in cars around him gathered and started to get angry too.  Lots of 'follow me, our street will pay you cash'.  We left, don't know what happened then.  When people are hurting, unions will only hinder help.  That's a great message to start pushing.  Told it to Blue friends in NJ, in front of their blue friends.  They said they heard it was only 'urban legend'.  They weren't happy.  Now FEMA offices closed in NY/NJ due to weather.  Hit this.  Hit it hard. While they are hurting.  Make it personal.

Posted by: MikeinAmman at November 08, 2012 07:17 AM (NYEIy)

Your colleague sounds just like Ann Barnhardt.  She insisted Obama had the election already fixed - either the machine had perfected the fraud, or Romney had agreed to throw the election in return for a favor to be given later.

Yesterday I went down to city hall to officially drop my R registration.  Fuck them.  We know Democrats cheat.  We've seen them do it.  We canprove it.  And the only one who fights back is Allen West?  I no longer belong to the GOP.  I want a conservative party that punches Democrats in the mouth every day and twice on Sundays.  And there's no way in hell that Crying Game Boehner is going to punch anything more than his nose into the JEF's ass.

I don't think so. My impression of the results -- beyond massive, never-to-be-investigated fraud, which Our Conservative Betters will never, ever talk about -- is that the country's White Guilt has not been, and likely never will be, weakened. Not one bit.

As I see it, too many people went into the voting booth thinking "how can we turn out this black man? He needs another chance after all the harm 'we' did to his people." "What will it say about us that we abandoned a person of color?"

Two factors carried the election: 1) Free Shit; and 2) Osama Obama's skin.

Yes, the MFM's blind eye turned toward Obama's many felonies and treasonous acts helped, and so did Jay-Z, Beyonce and all the other "stars" who pimped relentlessly for their brutha (that applies to Factor 2 above). That fat fuck Christie helped too, with perfect timing.

102 WaPo has the story of the day. Black turnout was actually UP in Cleveland and other cites from 2008. Team Obama did an excellent job of portraying GOP efforts to enact Voter ID laws as suppressing the black vote. The early voting skirmishes in Ohio added to the outrage in the black community. They got some email from a retarded GOP Committee official saying they needed to shut down the early voting to keep the black folks from voting. We completely shot ourselves in both feet with this. And this is the killer: "Only 9 percent of black voters said their family’s financial situation is worse than it was four years ago — despite government data showing African Americans have been among those hit hardest by the recession — compared with 32 percent of voters overall." Black President = things are just A-OK in America. No way we were going to overcome that. Totally cost us this election.

Well, of course those 2 things had something to do with it, but you can't hope to counteract those - and all the other factors involved - without a strong candidate. Also would who would confront those things head on instead of running from them and pretty much anything else controversial toward the end there. I know that was the game plan so as not to "scare off" independents, but the independents just didn't much care either way and showed it on election day. You have to offer a real choice to get people to switch from the status quo. We didn't, not really, not enough of one.

I think the notion that the apocalypse is at hand is self-defeating.

Yes, things will continue to get "worse", from the perspective of a conservative political viewpoint.  At some point, we really will hit the wall. My guess is that at some point in the future, a lot of countries will start using the Yuan - Reminbi (chinese currency) as the world's reserve currency.  The dollar will be more and more suspect.

When that day comes, then things really will go in the shitter.  It may not come until after Obama leaves office, but the day will come.

Will Obama be blamed?  Who knows, because of the ballwashers in the Media who think he walks on water?

I would like to think that there is still time to fix what is broken fiscally and monetarily, but that is not going to happen, realistically.  And that will be the absolute hardest part, watching the slow disintegration of our economic present and future under the watchful eyes of the incompetents now in office.  The economic disintegration will be accompanied by the disintegration of any pretense of Constitutional law and social order.

It will be like living in a neighborhood that is going bad, and unable to get out or change anything.  Except it will be the whole country. Somehow we will have to endure.

The Obama dream is to turn the whole country into Detroit or Chicago.

I frankly have no more faith in elections, although I will continue to vote, because despair is a sin.  But I mourn for the future that my children will have, or the future they won't have, frankly.

118 #97 I really don't think so, but I also don't think we should be sanguine about that. We have three straight elections now where Democrats have done a staggering job of turning out blacks in the cities and in the southern Black Belt towns. John Kerry almost won in 2004 because of it. And we have to anticipate that Dems will have either another minority or a woman on their national ticket, probably from now on. If we don't, we will lose. I hate the identity politics as much as anyone, but it works. At this point we have to look at what works, not what we wish would work.

The following actions from Weeping Boner and the rest of the shrinking violets in Congress would inspire some confidence in me:

1. Allow the Bush tax cuts to expire. All of them. The Democrats have blamed everything bad that has happened over the last ten years on the Bush tax cuts. OK, you wanted them gone, they're gone.

2. Announce that you are opposed to the creation of any new taxes and you will not approve any new taxes in the next Congress.

3. The President and Democrats have agreed that the tax code needs to be revised. Declare that you are going to go through the tax code and eliminate all special interest tax credits, deductions, and kickbacks. Someone here mentioned the Big Hollywood tax credits, make that your signature piece. Get rid of the electric car/renewable energy stuff. The only credits and deductions that will remain are those that apply to individuals and businesses in general. This will be passed by the House and sent to the Senate for action.

4. State the amount that the above measures are expected to generate, then state the remaining shortfall in the deficit. For example, the above measures would be expected to generate $150 billion in new revenue, remind everyone that this still leaves a shortfall of $850 billion in spending cuts to be resolved.

5. There will be no negotiation on the debt ceiling. None. Zero, zip, nada.

6. Allow sequestration to kick in.

7. The House will not act on any new legislation until a budget with at least $400 billion in immediate and real spending cuts is approved and signed by the President. This means actual cuts, not mythical cuts that only exist on paper. This also means immediate cuts, not ones that are calculated over 10 years.

It generally doesn't. Pure economics isn't enough. Specific, targeted appeals are more effective, even if they are based on lies like "the war on women".

And every election cycle, as long as the GOP doesn't overturn the demographic Kevorkian machine that is genociding White America, this is going to be a point or two harder.

132 We lost because Obama sufficiently scared the voting population into thinking Romney was a warmonger and wanted to overthrow Roe v. Wade... and that Romney didn't respect women's issues.

We also lost because Obama has brown people in his back pocket... and Hispanics, especially, breed like rabbits and introduced 22% more eligible voters than in 2008.  And that population increase will not subside anytime soon.  This was our last chance to take back the country, folks.  As J. J. Sefton mentioned above, the kids are coming out brainwashed out of our schools.  Add that to the demographics I mentioned above, and it is all over.

136 You have to offer a real choice to get people to switch from the status quo. We didn't, not really, not enough of one.
Posted by: davidinvirginia at November 08, 2012 07:41 AM

We could discuss this all day, but I'm nearing the upper limit for thinking about politics today and (again) losing my temper, though obviously not at you.

My belief is that we offered a "real choice" but, guided by those Wise in the Ways of Politics, watered it down to keep the squishes happy. I would have preferred that we tell the millions of flatliners out there the truth: that that the credit card is maxed out and the bill is due, that our current White House occupant has turned the nation into a pitiful Third World shithole and has put us all in serious danger on a number of fronts.

That's not what Romney said, of course, and I suppose he really couldn't. Not to the spoon-fed entitlement babies, and not to the Poppin' Freshes on "our" side.

In four years, reality may be all too apparent. Of course it might be too late by then to adopt reality as a national policy.

142 Someone had a great blog post last night, might have been Ben Domenech, I'm not sure. Talked about how the GOP simply HAS to expand the map in the next election and play in more states. What Obama did this year was basically campaign in two counties each in 9 states and drive the shit out of turnout in those handful of places. This is inexpensive and allowed the campaign to use most of its money on TV and radio. He knew Romney was not going to seriously challenge him anywhere else. He went to Cuyahoga and Hamilton Counties in Ohio; Fairfax and Henrico in Virginia, Miami-Dade in Florida, Milwaukee, and a couple of places in Iowa. And he did it over. And over. And over. And over. Also, Obama hit almost nothing but college campuses after the first of October. I was among those pooh-poohing this as a lame attempt to gin up the crowds for TV. But it was actually very smart. College kids respond to personal appeals and big movements. A 19-year-old is impressionable, and if the President comes to her campus not once, but two or three times, she is going to feel flattered and almost obligated to vote for him. This is how Obama won. He drove turnout in a handful of counties in 9 states, and drove the college vote.

146 I gotta say this just to have a chance to type it out. I am from NJ, and when christy was elected, there was another repub candidate that was a real conservative. The other guy lost and for that i fucking hated christy. i thought he was just another striving prosecutor that thinks he is god's gift and would weasel his way into power any way he could.

I really hate prosecutor-politicians, and think that there is something about the job that makes them abandon their morals and principals and makes them think they can bullshit anyone since everyone else is a two bit felon found drunk with a baggie of powder in their shorts and happy to take a plea and too stupid to know the system. These guys live to work the system.

Anyway, christy started governing and i liked it when he talked tough to the teachers union, and i liked his NJ attitude, but you could see he was more full of himself than he was smart, and he didn't really carry the conservative torch all that high. it was just another lever he could use to work the system.

I'm not in NJ anymore, but when i was there was a lot of press about him acting like another spoiled politician and not a lot about him defending intelligent, small government principals. More and more he seemed like he was just another prosecutor acting tough in court like it's a big show and we are the rubes.

I never got the pundits that thought he would be a good presidential candidate. (someone at NRO i think, maybe some of the fox crowd.) the guy talks like an asshole, and as a jersyite i know that that does not travel well.

NJ is a corrupt cesspool, and  christy is better than we could hope for, but personally, i hope the guy trips walking down the state house steps and just keeps rolling until he hits the Delaware. maybe in a couple years he will be found covered in seagull shit in the mid atlantic, cursing at the birds and explaining how lucky they are to have him to lecture them on his principals of navigation.

158 Romney ran a good campaign, and given our criminal and treasonous president, it should've been enough to toss that skinny bastard out.  But I guess there's no disputing how ignorant the masses are.  Romney was a nice guy and ran a good campaign, but he was always pretty "thin" on articulating conservatism.  And that is, after all, the crux of us vs. them.  The majority of Americans are completely brainwashed.  There is simply no way to really overcome this anymore.  The leftists are too entrenched in all the places that matter.  We cannot teach conservatism to Americans through sound bites and 30 second YouTube ads.  There's really no avenue anymore where people can honestly and objectively learn the differences.  It won't be taught in our schools.  It won't be articulated by our candidates of today like Reagan's "A Time for Choosing."  There really is nowhere the collective of the American electorate can honestly learn about conservatism.  So, it will remain being trashed, mocked, ridiculed and ostracized as a form of government.  Until that changes, we're going down.  I'm sure we'll skid along the ocean floor for a while, but our great experiment is pretty much over.

I've adopted the "f*ck it" attitude now.  Let it burn.  I now wish for succession.

I hate the identity politics as much as anyone, but it works. At this point we have to look at what works, not what we wish would work."

It works for the Democratic Party because the Democratic Party is the non-White Party and the Anti-White Party.

If it was working for the Republican Party, which like it or not is the White Party, Mia Love and Alan West would have won.

I agree identity politics is what wins, but it's got to be your own identity. Otherwise it doesn't have the same effect.

189 #162 You know, I wonder what could have happened if Mitt Romney had not just gone home to wherever after the 2008 election to lick his wounds, and instead had gone on a Reagan-style speaking tour to educate the public about conservative principles. I don't think that was in him, but I think that may be the only thing that can happen that will change the electorate. We need someone who is out of office who is willing and able to spend two or three years on the rubber-chicken circuit, maybe get a big corporation to sponsor him like GE did with Reagan. It's time to think outside the box. I heard a snip yesterday of Norm Ornstein on NPR screaming about the Koch Brothers out there trying to "Buy off" the states. According to him, they have bought the legislature and the Supreme Court in Kansas, and are targeting Arkansas next. Maybe this is the way to go.

192 A lot of you people are evil. Like actually evil. Will no one stand up for basic decency and goodness? Mocking me because I told a true story about a friend who was raped and hung herself (in a conversation about suicide that I didn't begin) recently is not cool. She's very much dead, and that you all tell me to fuck off, and don't have a word for him, is just ... not surprising anymore. I look for goodness in the world (and my friend probably did too), but where is it to be found? You don't think erring on the side of caution is in order and maybe just not doubling on something that tragic is a good policy? I don't know if you've realized this, but we do live in a world where people get raped and then kill themselves. But apparently enlightened good Christians feel this is an attacking point.

217 Ace, you said this: Sam, I don't know you, but personally, I think it's a godawful idea to commit suicide. Unless you are already looking at a painful incurable disease with a sure end, it's crazy. Whether you believe in god or not, the universe around you is awesome and you commit a horrible mistake by not seeing as much of it and experiencing as much of it as you can. If you don't believe in god, which I assume you don't (otherwise you wouldn't be talking about suicide as merely an ethical question), then at death you will simply cease to exist. You will experience nothing more. In the entire eternity of the universe, you have already missed out almost all of it. You didn't exist for 14 billion years. You will not exist for the trillion years to come after. This is it. These precious few years which clever proteins have managed to gift you. This is all, then comes the Nothingness. Forever. This is it. I am not a doctor but your emotional level is almost certainly pitched too low. Your brain chemistry runs to the deeply depressed. It is sad that depression not only saps a life of color and joy but also precludes the person suffering it from seeking the simple cure for it. Depression can be cured. Before you go committing suicide, why don't you at least see if a simple biochemical adjustment will help you? Posted by: ace at November 08, 2012 12:15 AM And it was a decent, wonderful thing to say. There are a lot of freakin' terrible people in this world and a lot of them are on your blog. I forget where I read it...it was way before the election though...that Mitt had a chance for a great moment to break the MSM stereotype of what the GOP is about if he'd come out for breaking up the Too Big To Succeed banks...make them go back to being real banks, so they wouldn't threaten the entire system if one went down and wouldn't have to be bailed out again with taxpayer money. Sort of his Nixon goes to China or Clinton's Sista Souljah moment. Hell, he might have even gotten some OWS slugs out to vote for him if he'd done that. But this campaign was never really about big and bold ideas or strategies...I had hopes that was changing right after the Ryan pick for VP, but it surely didn't last. I also heard that Romney lost Asians badly. But the sterotype of Asians is hardworking and self-made success. This seems a natural fit for being conservative. Plus asian chicks are HOT.

This makes me think that the generic smear Conservatives=racists is at work. This slander needs to be defeated at all costs. I fear that the black vote is lost for a generation. This Hispanic vote cannot be allowed to slip away and the asian vote should be ours. That's where we must make our inroads.

If we can do well with those groups, that can help to dispell the party-or-white-people label and open the door to blacks as well.

232 Despite what conservatives keep chanting, the left's race card is not maxed out, and the left's race card will never be maxed out.

One reason is, leftist keep importing non-White multitudes who have a vested interest in the race card.

The other reason is, misguided conservatives keep validating the "racism!" card themselves, and claiming to be the real "anti-racists".

That's hopeless because "racism" and "anti-racist" are the left's terms. The left can make those terms mean anything it wants, and in practice "racist" means White and not in the liberal camp, and "anti-racist" means anti-White and proud of it.

Every time the left chants "racist" the right flinches or retreats. Or it pleads not guilty; and politically pleading not guilty becomes pleading, and pleading is losing.

Since the left's race card will never be maxed out, it has to be cut up.

Everybody on the right should stop validating the "racist" label. Instead, when the left chants "racist!" Whites should say "you are anti-White".

Because it's true! If you look at what Barack Obama's pastor and sundry friends say about Whites, there is enough evidence to convict them of being anti-White forty times over.

I don't know if Whites would have done better in elections by taking a defiant attitude, but I'm pretty sure they would have done better in policy terms if they weren't going into a fetal cringe all the time. And electoral politics is supposed to pay off in policy.

"Asian" now also includes Pakistani and Indonesian Muslims, and there are a shit-ton of them coming to the US. "Asian" also includes a lot of Chinese immigrants, and they are all atheists who were raised under Communism.

A person on a blog who's been commenting there for weeks or months (or longer), and who may be unpopular -- in part because of his personality and persistence, and in part because he's said things, like election predictions, that were not appreciated despite being closer to reality than the consensus -- relaying a personal story of someone he knows who killed herself, which is not uncommon at all, and was raped, also not uncommon, and is not asking for any money from you .. does not equal that. They aren't the same thing at all. It wouldn't cost a penny to show humanity or to at least refrain from evil viciousness. But apparently, among this company, I ask too much from too many. And no one has a measured word of restraint for him? Jesus would weep. I don't believe Jesus was a god, but either way he would weep (or at least be displeased) and it would not be at me. An internet forum lying story. Years ago I belonged to book forum, mostly women. However it wasn't just on-line. Members got together regularly in the "real" world. This one members slowly developed this elaborate story of being a successful executive and social advocate. She was so concerned about minorities she fostered two 2 black children who she was in the process of adopting. She was a hard core leftist. The details that provided about her life was amazing. She went into the whole adoption process. Ups and downs. Stories about the kids crack mother. Doctor appointments. The whole thing. Her life as an executive including all sorts of minor/major tidbits ... meetings, report writing ... the whole thing. Well women being women when she the adoption was nearly final. We threw her a shower. Virtual and in real life. Well that was when the whole thing unraveled. No one was allowed to the kids among other things. Not a 100% sure how she was finally exposed but I believe a forum member cop check out her story. The whole thing 100% false. No kids, No Grand job.Nada. Nothing. The consensus she created this entire fictional world  to booster her political arguments and was a drunk too who had mental issues.

271 We do not understand minorities, for that, read illegal Hispanics or Hispanics with illegal loved ones and Blacks, for the simple reason that we do not think like criminals.  That is not harsh or racist, it is fact.  The very first thing about an illegal is the fact that their life in America is based on at least one felony and then they just keep right on stacking them up by illegally accessing goods and services.  By and large,Blacks rightly or wrongly view themselves as being outside of White culture's laws--even when one of them is murdered or raped or robbed, they usually do not cooperate with law enforcement because that's is somehow selling out to the MAN and causes them to lose their place in their part of society.  So here we are the party of truth, justice, the American Way, law and order, and the minorities say we want no part of that because that does not resonate with us!

273 Until election results ARE the ballots as cast, all the rest is mongering.

The corruption that matters is within our own US Government. Redress that to regain constitutional equilibrium. Our votes tally according to the dictatorship's design, not as cast. Oppositional votes were disappeared.

The POTUS candidate who campaigned strictly on constitutional grounds and attacking corruption was denied due process within the Republican Party. And the voices who condemned his platform have also ridiculed the legitimate protestation against breaking from rule of law. But now that their own corrupt methodology plays against them, they cry foul. Authoritarianism is great according to Republicans who gestated the Patriot Act and DHS, each term extending unconstitutional dictatorship powers of corrupt imbalance, plotting THEIR TURN to rule.

The United States Constitutional Republic deserves better.

Destroy Unions? Expose the brutality of Union LEADERS. Punish Media? Certainly, Expose Lies and Boycott Malmedia.

In the end, people coalesce. The US Constitution is our nation's Standard. But since both parties function without constitutional regard, that is THE point: No Standard Bearer. So people coalesce into special interest to get what they "deserve" more than what others "deserve".

So long as governance is corrupt, we the people are divided, and special interests ally with vitriol, whether in victory or defeat. Mote meet Beam. Destroy Unions? What, annihilate the workers' standard of living because their leadership is rotten to the core? Rather, clean our own government first, beginning with our own political party. Since Republicans believe in Reagan's "trickle down economy" then apply that top down principle to Rule of Law. No candidate and no PAC "deserves" the right of corruption.

And blog personalities who intoned in 2008 "That's not a hill worth the fight" can blame themselves for endorsing Obama's illegitimacy with their own apologist selfish rationales, mudslinging in order to appear "smart". Unwittingly, perhaps. But not for having been ignorant. Live and learn better sooner than later.

Impeach: Contract Law Nullified, Fiscal Insolvency, Fast and Furious, Illegal Libyan War, Gross Dereliction of Duty.

The Republican Party is every bit as corrupt as the Unions. Packaging differs with 'better manners' cloaking the dagger enforcing authoritarian rule. Neither party will seek to rescind corruption because THEY LOVE IT'S BENEFITS.

Voters who allied within the party despite differences with the corrupt Republican Leadership were again disenfranchised by the Republican Party at their own Convention. But now since the Republican POTUS candidate met defeat, we're told to punish the media and attack union workers in order to feel better and "improve" our situation.

Meanwhile, Bush's Doctrine is Obama's: Interventionist Nation Building Wars Win Hearts and Minds through US TAX FUNDED Bribes while forcing our troops to accept suicidal Rules of Engagement. Those Rules haven't changed, still stacked against our troops who AGAIN were denied their votes so conveniently "lost".  OUR taxes enhance the genocide of all minorities and the most barbaric abuses against humanity. OUR troops are perpetually re-deployed in these never ending wars awaiting their turn with the worst in combat without borders permeating the region and encompassing the globe in economic wars, ordered to train the very men whom our forces fight.

Bush's suicidal Rules of Engagement aren't limited in scope to our military personnel in the Middle East. They apply in political practice here at home. By forcing such abroad, there was no way to prevent it from applying at home as well. THAT Republican Leadership does not deserve any vote of confidence. That "Republican" success requires authoritarian FORCE we presently witness being exercised in the Democrat Leadership agenda. Sickening shared political values taking turns as King of the Mountain.

And we should fixate on the corruption of Unions and the Media? Best through our own Union and Media. But tit for tat is bullshit. And I'm not falling for any agenda EXCEPT FOR MY CONSTITUTION.

Mormons claim to be Christian, despite having a belief system markedly different from us (trinitarian monotheism is kind of important to Christianity), and non-Christians usually accept their claims at face value and treat anyone who says otherwise as some sort of bigot. Mormons may be nice folks and I would be happy to have them as neighbors, but until they admit that they are a separate religion they are exactly the sort of false teachers who preach a different Christ that Paul warned us against and naturally there is going to be a special kind of friction between the two religions. Crying "bigot" just adds insult to injury - I am still sore over how some of the blogosphere acted back in the 2008 primary.

Having said all that, I don't know Christians who have told me that they wouldn't vote for Romney because of his religion, though I suspect a couple I know didn't vote for him for other reasons.

Take heart.  I think there's a lot of fretting over how we turn this around within the context of 'present-day' conditions.  I think it's a misjudgement of how change actually happens.  What will force REAL change back to conservative principles - if such is to be had - is pain.  Lots of it.  Look at Russia versus her client states in the old Soviet Union.  First note that even amongst people who'd never experienced liberty the desire for liberty grew despite all attempts to keep it contained.  Eventually it broke out.  In Russia - where the quality of life was ALWAYS significantly better than in the various client states, there has been some backsliding toward statist solutions.  I'd hazard a guess that it's because the pain of the change was greater than the pain of communism in Russia.  In many of the client states however - East Germany, Yugoslavia, Slovakia, Poland, Latvia, etc - there hasn't been much back-sliding, because the pain of change is FAR LESS than the remembered pain and scarcity of communism.

All of this is to say that the American electorate will wake up only when they're finally forced to.  In this case, the faster it happens, the better off we really are - a speedy death to the old way of life being far preferred to a slow, multi-generation lingering death.  Those who say 'let it burn' I believe are on the right track.  Withhold your money from all causes, and keep your production in check.  Let the spiral accelerate and let the powers that be seek ever more intrusive ways to keep their con going.  Soon, even the uneducated, the illiterate, and the illegal minority will understand the need for conservative principles, because they will be the first to feel the lash, and the first to die of the consequences.  Conservatism works because it most closely mirrors reality as it relates to the responsibility of the individual in liberty-promoting society.  That is, always has been, and will remain the one weapon we have that can not be taken a way - the ultimate backstop on the disappearance of individual liberty.  Get a long stick and buy some marshmallows.  Be ready to share with the newly awakened and hungry.  They'll be here soon enough.

In the meantime, let's stop looking for conservative hero's to save the day.  'The day' is not yet ready to be saved, and you'll just get aggravated wondering why the spineless generation in power isn't doing 'something.'  A pox on all their houses.  They've had the chance for 20 years and they've failed miserably.

289 I dont know what happened but my guess at this point is that the message of "you can have your cake and eat it too" beat that of "no you cant" Otherwise it makes no sense to re elect a president when the economy is in th crapper. What the results DO mean is that the US must experience for itself what socialism is and what living in Spain, Greece, Italy is economically, England politically, possibly as far as Venezuela. Most people cannot learn by others' example and we will all suffer greatly before there is a backlash. I hope that backlash comes in the way of the vote but it really depends on what Barky and his gang do the next four years. My lib friends on Facebook were really quiet in the weeks before the election. They were not confident because at no time in the past would a president like this get re elected. They are crowing now... There is very dangerous optimism on their part. There will be no compromise, just running roughshod over everything they can.

AOSHQ is entirely complicit in this development. When you foster a meeting place where it's okay to refer to Obama as "ogabe the sun king", you've jumped into bed with racism. Good luck with that.

291 Y'all, these past two elections have been largely about one thing: Black people want white people to pay for all the bad things done in history to people of color. What's been done for them, in their minds is NOT ENOUGH. More must be done. They don't mind a man, especially a blackish man, becoming president and totally wrecking our nation because they think we deserve it. They don't exactly love America, and ironically in opposition to the Jesus most of them say they believe in, they can't forgive and move on. They believe God has ordained them to make somebody pay. Anybody know exactly what these minority think will finally pay the bill we owe them? Will a destroyed nation and ruined future for most if not all the world make them happy? I guess if one is going to hell anyway, might as well go for the gold, I guess. . . and take everybody with you as you go down. As for whites voting for Obama. . . there are many more things going on there. White Obama supporters are the most petty, emotional, and intellectually ignorant people. If they are academics, rich or middle class white Obama supporters, they assume other whites in America to be as privileged and wealthy as they are. They are not typically empathetic to whites, and in this assumption that other middle class whites are as well off as they are, they see whites as "above" blacks. . . they are actually racists. I can't think of a better way to explain it, but they see whites as they are in culture as being more evolved and believe minorities need whites to stoop down and give them a hand up so that we can truly be equal. Does that make sense? They are typically useful tools who get distracted by petty social issues (like gay marriage, birth control pills, rights of Islamic terrorists, etc.) The racist/elitest whites are the ones who have always driven the democrat party. They make themselves feel acceptable to Christ and their own made-up self-important societies by doing such good things for the less fortunate and lower class. They are typically snobs. Their "status in society and academia" deludes them into thinking they are above doing wrong because they got their sh*t together compared to the lowers of society (you know, blue collareds, military, minorities, rednecks, uneducated-backwards Southerners, people who live in trailers, went to community colleges or didn't go to college at all, etc.). Take UNC Chapel Hill for example. . . that liberal education bastion is an absolute factory for liberal, uppities who think they can get away with corrupt sports programs while their colleagues at other universities cannot. . . Deluded white, racist snobs (trying so hard to convince themselves they are innately good and pure) voted for Obama. Or else, Obama-supporting whites are whites who want free stuff. (Did you know there are double the number of whites in poverty than blacks? Also, there are more hispanics in poverty than blacks?)

295 "After we win this election, itÂ’s our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us and they better be ready because we donÂ’t forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded, the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay. Congress wonÂ’t be a problem for us this time. No election to worry about after this is over and we have two judges ready to go."

296 Some parallels to ponder while surveying this moonscape in which we find ourselves: --Obama is the first President since FDR to be reelected with such a high unemployment rate. We reelected FDR during a no-kidding Depression. --Obama got a boost from Sandy; FDR got one from the Dust Bowl. --We have the Eurozone crisis in our time making matters worse; Americans of FDR's time had the bank failures that began with the bankruptcy of Creditanstalt. --Obama governs with a pen and a flick of the wrist; FDR tried to pack the courts. So, two sets of questions: 1. If a majority of us Americans are at heart a by-the-bootstraps, entreprenurial, salt-of-the-earth, nose-to-the-grindstone, too-proud-to-accept-a-handout types, then why did we ever elect FDR back in the day when we were more independent-minded, able to raise our own food (and/or hunt for it), make our own stuff, etc.? Is there something selective or misguided about the analysis by 21st century conservatives of our national character and history? Is there something we're not understanding about what Americans need and want to hear during a crisis? Are we saying it in the wrong way? I don't know; these questions are just comeing to me and I wish I could answer them. They may not even be the right ones. It's a start. I think. 2. Is there any guarantee we can recover from four more years of Hopeychangey Totalitarianism? There ain't no guarantee for nuthin' except death. We have done it before. But remember: Reagan was elected 48 years after FDR's first win. That's two generations. I hope it won't take that long; I'd like to live to see it. It's going to be a long, hard slog.

For some reason Ace won't or can't ban it again.

Interestingly enough this person has been annoying everyone that reads anything they write since yesterday, through the night and is still on today.

It's either more than one person (Ace you should be proud you've attracted the attention of someone who wants to sabotage this blog.) or they're really juiced up on bennies and coffee.

It's link goes to one of it's tl;dr screeds that seems harmless until you examine it more closely.

So far it's managed to piss off and earn massive amounts of counter argument and outright hate by just about everyone that reads any thread they're in. (and they managed to make themselves annoying in almost every thread.

Help us Obi Ace Kenobi, you're our only hope; ban this thing Samwise Gamgee the 3rd before it poisons the whole blog.

157 1. Allow the Bush tax cuts to expire. All of them. The Democrats have
blamed everything bad that has happened over the last ten years on the
Bush tax cuts. OK, you wanted them gone, they're gone.

They're gone and the economy tanks. 'Disposable' income evaporates for 75% of the middle class. Housing market collapses. Even 'official' unemployment rises to 12.5%. Consumer spending disappears.

Be careful what you ask for.

Uh, Shroedinger? The people get the kind of Government they deserve. They voted for this guy. Even the people who voted for McCain/Palin in 2008 and "stayed home" this time.

Especially the clowns who voted for Gary Johnson.

306 1. We can still shut down the MFM and the Hollywood sellouts.

2. Stop watching the news or cut your cable entirely.

3. Let the advertisers know why.

4. If you absolutely can't then patronize a conservative outlet.

5. Stop going to movies, renting movies or buying movies (exceptions, see line 4.)

6. make sure any and all advertisers in your (presumably liberal) paper know that you will not patronize them unless they stop advertising with that paper OR that you are canceling you subscription OR will never purchase the rag against because of it's lies and coverups and that you hold them responsible for it's existence.

7. It's time that some protests began being aimed at the Media.
Notice they never get a lot of flack over any thing they say no matter what. No one holds them accountable.

Doing all the above won't make the next 2-4 years better but may make it more palatable to you and may eventually do some good if we can make at least one of these lying douchebags pay for their propaganda.

It's good that you have tokens among your officials. But your voter rolls don't reflect that. Those officials are trotted out as proof of diversity, but diverse communities see through that as pandering, which it is. Look, you can keep your head in the racist sand if you want. In fact, please do. But don't throw those folks out there as some kind of proof that you're not racist. I see that's bullshit, and so do minority voters.

310 "Something wicked this way comes"

McCain lost, Romney lost because they aren't really conservatives and were weak candidates, although Romney was much superior to McCain.

But the fundamental reason is that the left has created structural advantages for themselves in schools, the press, the culture. Until the right either develops countervailing structures of equal power or destroys the lefts we will continue to lose. As an example, Scott Walker showed one way to successfully weaken unions by eliminating some bargaining rights, eliminating dues deductions by the government.

Unfortunately for seniors who would like to continue to live, ObamaCare, socialized medicine, is now in place and will be so forever and ever. No society has ever repealed socialize medicine. That was always the real issue of the campaign not jobs and it was hardly discussed.

All future elections will be fought on the left. They will basically be about how much money to spend on ObamaCare. Trying to make a limited government argument when your very life depends on the whims of government bureaucrats will be nearly impossible.

But human beings being hopeful types, the political battles will go on, with the recognition though that the progressives have won their century long battle to transform America.

Take away the Bush tax cuts and you'll be lucky to have a job in three months. Because of location I shop at Lowes -- usually spend 500 a month or so. That will 'out of necessity' (to use Obama's words) go to ZERO if the tax cuts lapse. Multiply that by the number of customers who visit your store every month.

I can do without home improvement. Everything in your store I can do without. Like, I said, careful what you ask for, you might just get it.

314 What will force REAL change back to conservative principles - if such is to be had - is pain.

**
The worst pain either makes or breaks a person. It could be argued on principle that the pains of slavery motivate the desire for liberty. But of itself, pain doesn't convert a mind to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Sharia plays the pain card. Monarchs, Emperors, Dictators and Presidents are known to inflict pain regardless of race, creed or gender.

Yes, Buddha says to recognize suffering as universal regardless of individual identity (lost in Nervana's amalgam).

Pain brings out the best and worst in people. Whether Galt-CEO or the working stiff, when self-centered people enjoying comfort can't appreciate a blessing in the mutual giving and receiving in free trade, leadership recriminates when the comfort is lost, rationalizing that their own obese ego is more special. Yet that's the criticism applied against social justice.

[Obama on my shoulder: "You didn't build that."]

In response to brutality, from Unforgiven
The Duck of Death: "I was building a house. I don't deserve this."
William Munny: "Deserve's got nothing to do with it."

Politics reflect desire. Idea determines form.

A Renaissance requires alert inquiry, the willingness to observe and exercise logic. Our Founding Fathers represented the best product of their Zeitgeist, the Classical Liberals who knew full well that any masterwork MUST have a solid foundation and symmetrical balance, epitomizing the ingenious amalgam of Classicism with Romanticism. GENIUS was recognized then to encompass the ideal of encyclopedic consciousness practically into a novel and beneficial invention.

And today, our "betters" in Washington don't even read, and refuse to allow us to read bills before they are made law, legally or not. These idiots say that the Constitution is outdated, outmoded, irrelevant. Having each sworn to uphold the Constitution in office, these idiots induce idiocy of the nation. Their corruption also refutes any legitimacy regarding their legislated laws.

US Constitution and Bill of Rights ... tried and true best pain prevention is observance.

315 Ok Morons. Not to worry. VINDICATION is maybe 6-18 months away. The DUMB masses obviously can't be told what's going to happen, so they will get to feel and experience it first hand. Of course it will be painful for ALL of us, but I'd wager that our side is more able to withstand the coming adversities than the majority of their side. And then they will know why they fear the night. Hold fast !!

318 We must start the war to win back the country, and in war unfortunately there will be collateral damage.  Time to ostercize, polarize and demoralize the enemy, any and every way possible.  If you own a business, check your employees yard for signs of who they support, if they lean to the left, find a reason to fire them and let it follow them for the rest of there work days.  Dont buy from businesses that support liberals, look at who donates(its public information) and so on.  Its not nice but if we keep playing nice we wont have anything left to play for.

319 Much may be said of all situations and seemingly have no end.  Do we know the future?  The one who knows the future must be sought .. Confrontation of violence never solves anything.. Most of the country seems to be of different mind than what the results were  settled on.  Politicians are out of touch with the people and only seem to project of what they may know and not what is necessary for the country as a whole.  More of what we are doing here should be done to keep in touch as all americans are one nation under God!  Most of the people of this loving country are out of touch with each other and ; therefore , seem to be uninformed.  We all must be open and honest with each other by not being narrow minded.  We should and I reiterate that this or some other means hopefully more open should be honestly dealt as our playng card.

321 One thing I want to say is the fact before acquiring more computer memory, consider the machine into which it would be installed. If the machine is running Windows XP, for instance, the memory threshold is 3.25GB. Putting in greater than this would purely constitute some sort of waste. Make sure that one's motherboard can handle the upgrade volume, as well. Great blog post.
