— Gabriel Malor Oh, man, it can't be December yet. I have things due in December.
I never understood why the states that just voted to decriminalize marijuana said they would seek federal guidance for what to do now. Before the vote, the feds said marijuana use and sale were still going to be illegal under federal law and that they'd still prosecute. What other guidance could there be? Anyway, Washington state isn't waiting for the feds anymore. Marijuana will officially be decriminalized under state law tomorrow.
Alanis Morissette visited Tel Aviv for a concert today. It provoked the type of measured response from Islamist and leftist scum that you've come to expect.

Blood Safari
This first-class thriller features rich descriptions of South Africa and reflections of that country's painful history, from apartheid to the environment. These details supercharge the white-knuckled pace of a cross-country escape hard-boiled bodyguard Martin Lemmer and his beautiful client, Emma le Roux, are making from a group of paramilitary killers.
And thatÂ’s it for this slow Monday.

What they need to do is sue the Feds to get rid of the Federal law which is unconstitutional as hell. A fact that I told a federal judge when undergoing voir dire for a drug and gun trial.

NBC broadcaster Bob Costas used his halftime segment on ''Sunday Night Football'' to advocate for gun control following this weekend's murder-suicide involving Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, causing an immediate debate on social media.
In a segment about 90 seconds long, Costas paraphrased and quoted extensively from a piece by Fox Sports columnist Jason Whitlock.
After praising the column, Costas said: ''In the coming days, Jovan Belcher's actions and their possible connection to football will be analyzed. Who knows? But here, wrote Jason Whitlock, is what I believe. If Jovan Belcher didn't possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today.''
Because there's no possible way a 300 pound muscular man could kill a woman with as little as his bare hands....

Oh goody, we're going to try this again:
Former GOP Rep. J.C. Watts says he is being “encouraged” by supporters to run for chairman of the Republican National Committee, a move he says could broaden the party’s appeal to minorities.
Watts complained that Republican efforts to reach out to minority groups have not been sustained or consistent during his 20-plus years as a politician ...and if the GOP doesnÂ’t dramatically improve its image with black and Hispanic voters, it will not be able to win back the White House.
Watts would not identify who is lobbying him to challenge Priebus, and reiterated that he has not made a decision to definitely jump into the race.

I don't see the auto mechanic being at fault for that. I see the guy collecting and his doctor being to blame.
My father in law had severe heart disease and it took him a long time to get SSDI and three court trips despite testimony from cardiologists saying he could not work. He died shortly after being OK'd for it.
Now all you have to do is go down and apply.

If you are working a job, it goes against the very purpose of the program.
Either you can or you cannot work, you can't collect SSDI and work.

Dozens of Chinese mothers are giving birth to their babies in a house atop a hill in a wealthy neighborhood of Chino Hills, California - and they're paying thousands of dollars for the privilege.
Neighbors say the home is a 'maternity mansion,' a hotel where Chinese women stay for the last few months of their pregnancy so their children are born on American soil - and are therefore American citizens.
Experts say the practice is widespread and that authorities are nearly powerless to stop it. The 14th Amendment guarantees that any person born in the United States is an American citizen and is afforded all the rights granted by the Constitution.

Several years ago, I suffered kidney failure due to a genetic kidney disease. Once I went on dialysis, I was informed that I was eligible for Medicare to supplement my insurance. I signed up for it. During the process, Medicare informed me that I was also eligible for disability. I declined since there was nothing preventing me from working. They were very insistent that I consider signing up. I kept refusing. Finally, they told me that, if I ever changed my mind, I could just call them and they would get it started immediately. I never have.

This is nothing new in CA. Anyone who ever went through the large Asian areas in Los Angeles, or spent any time at the "International" terminal at LAX would be well aware that the illegal Asians are second only to the illegal Mexicans in total numbers, and have been for decades.
Of course there are a shitload of Canadians there illegally as well. I knew quite a few back in the days when I was married to -- and went through hoops getting a Green Card for -- a Canadian.
I would have thought that CA would have tipped over into the sea by now....

You're right, I just looked it up. It used to be a very nominal amount, until 1990 it was $300 a month. For most of the 90's it was $500. It has been steadily rising since then, and in 2013, for no-blind people it's over a $1000, and for blind people it's $1740.
In other words, more than a lot of people earn who are not at all disabled.
What a crock.

What a seriously retarded comment. I don't give a flying fuck whether someone professes to be conservative, liberal, moron, or left-wing fucktard.
It's what they do that matters. If you have a legitimate reason to be on disability, fine. If not, you're a parasitic loser who should be billed the full amount paid (plus interest), fined, and jailed for fraud.

According to a Dec. 1 report by the Kansas City Star, friends say the fact she was out late after a Trey Songz concert Saturday night contributed to the fatal fallout.
A friend of Kasandra's claimed Jovan was mad at her for staying out with friends late. At one point in the evening he called her wanting to know when she'd be home. She arrived around 1 a.m. after drinking with friends and enjoying the concert. Seven hours after her fight with Jovan, the NFL player shot her. The two of them had a baby daughter just three months ago. The infant -- Zoey Michelle Belcher -- is now in her grandmother's custody.
Other friends of Kasandra Perkins emphasize that the 22-year-old cared about people a lot and was studying to be a schoolteacher. She was introduced to Jovan Belcher by the wife of another Chiefs player.
So the gun was the murder weapon, but the cause of the murder could have been:
A Trey Songz concert (pardon my age..WHO?)
Staying out late
Drinking with friends
Enjoying a concert
Studying to be a schoolteacher.
Maybe there is a video that inflamed him to such hatred. We need to do a full investigation and get back to you later. We don't like to point fingers at the first thing we can think (hate) of.

I'm not entirely sure of the point of your post, but the cause of the murder is fairly simple- Javon Belcher decided to kill his girlfriend. He used a gun because, presumably, it was handy. Had he decided to kill her with a knife, would Costas and Whitlock be for banning knife ownership?

And let's not forget what I consider the 800lb gorilla in the room. Namely that Belcher was a football player, which means the influence of steroids can't be ruled out. This certainly sounds like it might have been a "roid rage" incident.
I went on a whole Twitter diatribe yesterday about how stupid it is to blame the murder/suicide on the presence of a gun. Frankly, if you are in the mindset to murder the mother of your 3mos old daughter, then you're in the mindset to do it regardless of what weapon is available.

I'm hearing conflicting reports. Some say he was "self medicating" due to various head injuries (yeah, that's a good idea). About the only thing I can find consensus on was that it seems that he killed her some time (hours is the word I see most) after their argument/fight. That doesn't seem like a "heat of the moment" thing, to me.

Recently I'm thinking I must be feeling similar to how the older generation of the latter Age of Reason felt towards the up and coming Romantics with their sentiments and flummery - they must have believed the ascent of Man from Savagery had met it's ignoble End and it would all fall towards Corruption from there onwards.
And, of course, they were Right. I just hope its as much a passing fad as the Romantics were.

I guess I'm curious as to the reason why he killed her. I know what you are saying, a toaster in the bathtub and we would ban toaster ownership. But, the first thing after this type of tragedy, they want to ban guns.
The first thing after Benghazi was, they wanted to ban the video that "caused" the massacre. THEN the gov decided that a long- slow -after- the elections investigation was needed.
So do we need to ban any of the list of things that were in the news article. I guess that was my point.

Ah. Maybe I need more coffee, then.
Yes, that does tend to be a liberal's response. Liberals, since they believe in the "perfectibility of man" can't bear to think that a person might just do something evil. There has to be a "reason" (such as being white, or Christian, or Jewish) or some thing has to be to blame. Because, if people just do evil things because they just snap, or because they're (*gasp*) evil, then that whole "perfectibility of man" thing just goes away. And then you have to consider the one thing Liberals absolutely will not consider- that Government isn't the answer to our problems.

Was talking to an old timer here in SC on Saturday about the warm early December we were having. He said, you know what that means, don't you? He went on to say it's an indication that we're going to get an extra cold winter.
And as far as SSDI, by far one of the most egregious examples of misuse and fraud is the giant baby man. The one who said he'd kill himself if he got his benefits cut off and could no longer go around in his self-made playpen and onsie sleepers.

That's an incredibly stupid idea. As I've said previously, 95% of people who are homeless are homeless for a reason more extreme than simply "I got kicked out of my house and lost my job." More often than not they're suffering from some form of mental illness. It's noble to want to help family, and since Mr. Hillman is active in the church I understand the urge, but to invite that person into your home after knowing nothing about them or their situation for so long... Let's just say I'd be cautious.
If my sister or my brother-in-law were having money troubles, they know they could come stay with us here in NH, no problem. That's because we stay in touch with them; we know them. It sounds like this guy and his brother didn't talk more than once a year, so the brother can't possibly know the full extent of his homeless brother's reasons for being on the street. This quote makes me particularly wary:
So how did the brother of a college professor and a church administrator end up living on the streets of New York’s Times Square? A relative who asked to remain anonymous provides a possible answer. “He was always finding trouble,” the relative maintains, “he was a bit lost.”
Kirk Hillman and a third brother, Alfred, note that he always had difficulty holding down a job. The brothers were aware that Jeffrey declared bankruptcy in 1993 after a series of state tax liens in New Jersey. They had no idea, however, that his situation had become this dire.
Difficulty holding down a job. Always finding trouble. "A bit lost."
I wish him and the rest of the family well, but I have my doubts that much good can come from this.

Absolutely it's the man. He holds the blame, 100%. My only reason for bringing up the steroids is that, thus far, I haven't heard a single person mention it. Maybe I've missed the coverage, but seriously? A football player kills his girlfriend and himself and it's not even MENTIONED? Given that steroid use is pretty rampant in professional sports -- particularly strength-testing sports like football -- I'd say they pose a greater threat to the health and safety of players and their loved ones than does gun ownership.

That would be 2 more times than the media.
I don't need the feelers and the regulators on the left to interpret the significance of that neat little statistic for me.
That type of overkill has nothing to do with gun violence.

Seems to have been something of a shocker in both cases, bless their hearts.
