— Gabriel Malor Happy Thursday.
Newt Gingrich unloaded on Fox News yesterday, saying the most-watched cable news channel was biased in favor of Romney. Says Gingrich, “there’s no question that Fox had a lot to do with stopping my campaign because such a high percentage of our base watches FOX.” He also had not-very-nice things to say about George Will.
Charles Manson was denied parole for the 12th time, to the surprise of nobody. In the past three years, he was caught in possession of a weapon and contraband cell phones. Also, there's that whole continued threats of bodily harm thing.
Democrats just thoroughly shot themselves in the foot by criticizing Ann Romney for being a stay-at-home mother. Also, welcome to Twitter, Mrs. Romney.

Been in hibernation for the past four years, Vic?
The stuttering clusterfuck of a miserable traitor and Komrade Klinton have been fluffing terrorists and violating U.S. law almost non-stop since January, 2009.
It seems stupid to say "If Bush (or the other Bush,or Reagan, or you-name-it) was president, he'd get his ass handed to him," but the power of President Historic First's© get-out-of-jail-free card has given him a stunning amount of dictatorial power to accomplish his agenda, and there's not one Republican with the nads to stand up to him. Not one.
But you know all this. I wish the 52% would wake up before they're herded into the slaughter pen with the rest of us.

I also blame the implementation and renewal of the VRA as being direct contributors to the racial politics which continue to curse this country even today. Never give power to lawyers!

Ann Romney "never worked a day in her life."
Hilary Rosen, do you manage your own expenses within budget, clean your own house, cook your own meals, do your own grocery shopping and laundry, raise your own children without hired help? Ms. Rosen, name the charity organizations to which you regularly devote your own time and effort pro bono and without tax benefit.
Feminazi Spokesperson Hilary overstated her criticism, and missed the target entirely by just that much, hence discrediting the more accurate (final swipe) criticism of Mitt being perceived as old fashioned by "working" women. (Clue: he is.)
And on "old fashioned" as entirely outmoded so without value these days, as disgusting as a patriarchal overlord is regarding equal standing in a partnership, Hilary Rosen just told every stay at home mom, regardless of economic status, including the very indigent or financially challenged mothers (old fashion term for women who've born children) whom Hilary presumes herself the Spokesperson to STFU because the Democrats want you to stay barefoot (pregnant) in the kitchen. Ironic, huh. Democrats deny working women the very benefits Democrats promise.
Hm, broken promises = bad marriage.
Republicans could make a good ad from the "fair shake" angle if there's a record to promote.
Thank you, Rosen, for blowing your "war of words" from the onset. Womens Liberation movt. was always about promoting the elitist few communist females careers at the expense of the entire gender, dismissed without grounds as nonentities only good for a vote. Remember '08 Michelle Obama telling her audience of "working" black women to remember their place and forget about improving their lot in life through higher education.

The drug using "generation gap" of the 1960-70s was NADA compared to the hold now that prescriptions and violent media "gaming" programming have on the entire body of America's population, despite the "old fashioned" bitter clingers to Liberty who eschew most television programming, don't play war games, and who don't inhale/swallow or volunteer as a pin cushion while WILLINGLY ignorant of negative side effects.

The arrest of GZ is a blatant attempt at a distraction by this administration to deflect away from the horrible economy. It's also a great excuse to start a race war, as evidenced by the language coming from the NBPP, which no one in a position of responsibility wants to touch, even though they've violated a number of state and federal laws by issuing a "Dead or Alive" bounty on GZ. Does anyone else find it strange that the city of Sanford, Seminole county and the State's prosecutors' offices haven't charged GZ with anything for over a month?
Then Eric Holder rubs the nation's nose in it by praising Al Not-So-Sharpton yesterday. If I didn't know any better, I'd say we're seeing a race war created by the White House as a reason to impose that shiney, new EO that the SCOAMF signed a couple of weeks ago.
And I'm not saying I know any better. This whole situation is beginning to smell like the Chicago Way. We're being set up for a revolution.

All too true. Yet another reason for much wider application of the death penalty. And I'd go one step further - anybody who's caught fawning over murdering psychopaths should be considered an accomplice and hanged right along side him.
If it were up to me there would be less push for early parole, because the jails would have plenty of room. All the rapists (including those who rape others in prison), murderers, kidnappers, terrorists, armed robbers, gangbangers, and corrupt politicians would be dragged from their cells, one at a time, and shot. The bodies would burn in a great, kerosene-soaked pyre, a fire fed and tended by the other prisoners who would thereby receive a useful object lesson. The sound heard thereafter across the nation would be the sighs of relief from a million once-fearful citizens.

Regardless, don't allow this event to dissolve "stand your ground".
While protecting/defending rule of law, don't allow the dissolution of a germane state law protecting our Bill of Rights.
Ex: The business of allowing the dismissal of the Constitutional Requirement of every POTUS candidate to be a natural born citizen, because people feared whatever in defense of that premise of eligibility, did not simply abandon that premise, but provided precedence to never regard loyalty to America and the US Constitution again when promoting any presidential candidate. Consider the outcome: the dissolution of all Constitutional Governance resulting from that refusal to hold firm to the integrity of POTUS constitutional eligibility. A hill NOT worth fighting to defend? /Sure, morons pile on the "birther" shit in futile self defense posture as if we're not all drowning because of THAT permissive PC flood destroying rule of law and every American's Constitutional Liberties. Watch the authoritarians take MORE charge of "the fix".

Indeed. Though for me, the cost (while abhorent) is a bit secondary. The core principle of justice has got to be a balancing of the scales. While we are not to carry out eye-for-an-eye justice as private citizens, it is the only reasonable form the justice system, administered by the state, can take. The only way to pay for a life wrongly taken is with a life. And intent has to matter as well - if you TRY to take life, but fail, your incompetence or bad luck should not excuse you from the penalty your success would have earned.
I should be able to go about my life without dealing out private justice, because the apparatus of the state should do that for me. But now that doesn't happen like it is supposed to. Now it's all about excusing crime, or trying to justify it, or saying "Oh that poor disadvantaged person!" And no matter what the libtards claim, that is not true compassion. Once "mercy" is the norm, it is no longer mercy.

I'll bet that usually works, unfortunately. "I've reformed!" they say. Of course, the stats bear out that hardly anyone is reformed by prison after they've crossed a certain line.
Personally, I think long term imprisonment is folly anyway. It's crime college. If it were me, every serious crime would get one of the following: Death (by hanging or firing squad), public corporal punishment (the lash, the stocks, etc), or a fine of triple the $ stolen/defrauded (or if destitute, indentured servitude). Sometimes there might be a combo. What more do we really need?

Agreed. My only hope is that this bullshit star-chamber kangaroo court turns out to be a useful venue to get the REAL facts out. I know the media will do their best to twist the events of the trial to suit the narrative, perhaps some sunlight will shine through.
Anybody who looks at the actual facts available so far, without an emotional bias in favor of the would-be home invader/murderer, sees that the punk that got shot brought it on himself. Let's hope more of America gets to see that in the trial.

What? We're NOT seeing them right now and I am seeing it first hand from the wrong side to. Try being 57 with usable IT skills and not being able to find a job... I have a better chance of finding a job than George Zimmerman does of getting a fair trial.
Posted by: Gmac at April 12, 2012 04:31 AM (CMLdk)
Then I got a job, and, instead, I knew that they were not "honestly pursuing" their vision- but doing so dishonestly. I still believed that they (as a rule, with some exceptions for those at the tippy-top) were at least honest as regarded their goal.
Now I understand better. They're evil. They've been taking the same tactic as the Serpent in the Garden. They promise "freedom" and "fairness" and "enlightenment," but all you get (if you believe them) are ignorance, and patronage, and slavery. Whatever they believe their goal is does not matter, for they choose evil means to realize it. No matter how noble their goal may once have been (I don't believe it was ever very noble), it is now sullied and tarnished by the evil of their actions.
The attack on Anne Romney is just one more example. I can tell you, as a direct observer, my wife works at least twice as hard as a stay-at-home mom as she ever did at "a real job." And, with all due respect to the working moms out there, working moms don't rear their children- the schools or day-care centers do. I know that, also, from direct observation- and from the most heart-breaking moment I ever had one morning taking my kids to day-care (before my wife could stay at home) when I realized that my daughter thought of her day-care as "home," and our house was just where she slept.

2010 elections I sat up and watched the returns in some prince william precincts ALL NIGHT. I was interested that Fimian win (boring and uninspiring but not) against the liberal lying piece of shit Connolley. Things were very neck and neck until the very wee hours around 4 when a couple of the heavily black precincts came in after everyone else with just enough votes to win. Holder has "released" Prince William Co. because he had his mechanism in place for future Derrick Bell theory compliant voter fraud. "I know the media will do their best to twist the events of the trial to suit the narrative, perhaps some sunlight will shine through."
The MFM has distorted this story with abandon since day one, beginning with the publication of an old pic of TM as an innocent child, not the thug he looked like at age 17. The very next thing they did was mistakenly portray GZ as white when he's clearly Hispanic.
Since this is happening right up the road from me, I'll share one little tidbit that the media continues to ignore. The son of the Sanford police chief assaulted a black man one night a few months ago, right in front of the little bar where I once regularly played. Just walked right up to the guy and coldcocked him for no reason: there was no confrontation, no words exchanged or anything. This was captured on video by a friend of mine who was at the bar when it happened.
This was an outrage, albeit a small one that didn't receive much attention. Most of the folk I know wanted the PC's son behind bars, regardless of their color. A couple of rallies were held and many in the Sanford area denounced the attack, among them was GZ. He also has mentored many disadvantaged children of color in the area for years.
But did you notice the Idiot Bloomberg mention any of this in his presser? Nope. All we heard was that GZ was a "violent man with a criminal history."
This shit is being concocted just as surely as the sun rose this morning. On purpose.

Right on. When I ran a daycare in my home, the children who were with me 8-10 hours a day/five days a week, would cry when they left MY house. That was such a sad thing, for everyone. Eventually, I provided only part-time(20 hrs or less/week) care, as little ones handled it much better.

I was driving my father home from an eye doctor appointment on Saturday and there was a news blip on the radio about Charlie Manson's parole hearing. "If he got paroled, how the hell would he support himself?" my dad asked. "Who in God's name would give him a job?"

If the Special Prosecutor decided not to charge him, all the evidence would not come out, and the professional Racial Grievance Lobby would scream "RAAAAACISM!" and "CONSPIRACY!" forever. Now, on the presumption that a fair trial can actually be had, at least, all the evidence will come out. Based on what information is currently available, it looks like he should be acquitted of everything beyond littering, and go free.
Then, while it won't stop them from trying, the RGL won't actually have anything to scream about.
Of course, that presumes a fair trial is possible, which is certainly an open question.

I'd love to agree with you, AllenG, but unfortunately I don't think that's the case.
If GZ is found guilty, the race baiters will take it as vindication and proof that "white folk be murderin' black folk for the crime of being born black" all over this country.
If GZ is found not guilty, the race baiters will take it as proof that the legal system is biased against black victims of crime and that the white patriarchal establishment set up the case to ensure that GZ wouldn't have to pay for his crimes.
It's Critical Race Theory writ large.

They're going to have to move it as far away from Sanford as possible. Maybe up in the Panhandle he'll be able to get a fair trial, but even that's suspect. After the hatchet job the MFM has done on him (with the documentation to prove it) it almost doesn't matter where, in FL, he has his trial, his attorney should have good grounds to appeal on "unbiased jury" standards if he does get convicted.

Wow. Yet another bit of anecdotal evidence supporting my theory that women are their own worst enemies. Working when it makes almost no financial difference is beyond absurd. It's self destructive madness. And when are women going to learn that other women are simply emotional predators? They feed on the denigration of other women. It's the only way some of them have to feel good. Thus, they try to lord their feminist-conformant choices over others. Sickening.

(CNBC) - New U.S. claims for unemployment
benefits rose last week to their highest level since January, a development that
could raise fears the labor market recovery was stalling after job creation
slowed in March.
Initial claims for state unemployment benefits increased 13,000 to a seasonally adjusted 380,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday. The prior week's figure was revised up to 367,000 from the previously reported 357,000.
Economists polled by Reuters had forecast claims falling to 355,000 last week.
The four-week moving average for
new claims, considered a better measure of labor market trends, rose 4,250 to
368,500.
Oh no comrades, our glorious and most wonderous recovery seems to have hit some bumps in the road or is it headwinds?

Read for a while, and see what they say. You don't HAVE to comment, but if you can think of a good question or comment, you can reply to that person directly. I have found Rick Klein of ABC and Mark Knoller of CBS to be willing to answer questions or entertain comments from the right (of course you need to do this civilly). Some people are more thin-skinned and do not take disagreement well, in which case you will be blocked. I have been blocked by both Jake Tapper and Dana Loesch, proving that thin-skinnedness knows no political leaning.
If you get on Twitter and comment, you will pick up followers. If you follow me and remind me, I will give people your name to follow. Once you have followers, when you re-tweet something you read (there is a button for that) you will make sure all of your followers read it too.
For example, I do not follow Axelrod or Messina, but several pundits do and re-tweeted their comments last night, which is how I knew that they were attempting damage control.
There is a more extensive list of twitter commands which I am not that good at, but you can use them if you get really involved.
It takes staying with it and reading and following. It is an excellent snapshot of what people are talking about in politics. I usually am on it in the morning and then in the evening. CAUTION: Some people get addicted and are on it all day. Don't fall into that trap! LOL!

With an R president who insisted on federal charges in the Rodney King case, the "obviously racist" cops who beat him were convicted to appease the masses.
The Sgt. in charge at the scene was such a Klansmen that he had been disciplined for violating department policy in order to give mouth to mouth to a black tranny known to have the aids virus. Said tranny collapsed in the police station in front of him and the Sgt. refused to wait until a dental dam was found before initiating life saving mouth to mouth.

I'm not so sure. If the trial drags on for months, or something... well, you can only keep the pot simmering for just so long, really. I think it will calm down before that.
We talk about the Rodney King, thing, but that really couldn't happen (at least, not to the same extent) today. Look at NBC having to backtrack (pretty quickly, too) with their deceptive 9-1-1 edit. Or ABC and their "enhanced video."
If the trial is over quickly and they acquit, I agree with you- we'll have riots. If it takes a long time, I don't think so. There may be some protests, and I'm sure Jessie and Al will try to gin up some riots, but I just don't see it.

Yes, but you can rise above a basic emotional "stimulus-response" level of cognizance. Sadly, the majority of people can't (or don't).
His statement wasn't that anyone who votes against Obama is necessarily pro-Zimmerman, but, rather, that they will be portrayed as RAAAAACIST! bigots who would just as soon shoot a person-of-color as look at them.

I've thought that myself for quite some time. Then I quickly foresee how that would pan out. You do know that immigration from Latin America, both legal and illegal is practically zero. The economies are booming down there, so they have no need to come. The fastest rising group of illegals are Asians and I don't hear Republicans saying crap about it.
I don't support illegal immigration nor am I for amnesty. I don't like the Republican Party's attacks on the Latino community as a whole. I am Italian-Brazilian and the and have Mexican and Puerto Rican relatives. My wife is Argentinian Jewish, so this is personal for me.

I've been in car accidents where the other driver is at fault, a hispanic (white or otherwise) with no drivers license, no visa, no english and the police will not check immigration status. We are being overrun with illegals. Now go to your gloryhole and make some money.

The worsening violence comes as the Emanuel administration touts its efforts to combat gang crime and add officers and resources to some of the city's most dangerous neighborhoods.
Chicago police blame street gangs for much of the violence. Another contributing factor for the rise in homicides was the unseasonably warm weather this past winter, according to criminologists, but Chicago police Superintendent Garry McCarthy scoffed at that explanation earlier this year.
"In better weather, people are outside more, interacting more with neighbors, acquaintances, even strangers, and there's greater opportunity for conflict than when it's cold and windy," said James Alan Fox, a professor of criminology, law and public policy at Northeastern University in Boston.
Global Warming causes murders in Chicago!!!!!

Curious,
You'll never be able to speak from experience on motherhood because no man will ever love you. Fat, stupid and frigid is not a winning combination for catching a man.
Add your pathological lying to the mix and it's easy to see why you will spend the rest of your life pretending your cats love you. Because they can't speak.
But they hate you, too.

"I would ask him, did he know that that was a minor, that that was a teenager
What the fuck does that matter if you think your life is in danger? If I had a twelve year old beating my head into the pavement, I wouldn't stop to think, "Hey, this is just a kid who's trying to clobber my melon into the concrete. I shouldn't overreact."
and that he did not have a weapon."
The sidewalk was a weapon. If he went for GZ's gun, THAT would be a weapon. The presence of a physical object classified in daily parlance as "a weapon" is not necessary for a person to appropriately exercise self-defense.
The fact of the matter is, we still don't know what happened.

Pelosi ranked the chances as better than 50-50.
"I've always felt good about it," she said Wednesday in San Francisco, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "But now I feel better."
The war between President Obama and Mitt Romney over female voters intensified this week, with Romney asserting that 92 percent of the jobs lost under Obama were women's jobs, and Obama and the Democratic National Committee firing back that Romney's campaign couldn't even answer whether he supported a major piece of equal-pay legislation.
"I would have said, two months ago, we had a 50-50 chance of winning the House," Pelosi said.
"You've already seen me in action so you know what kind of spend-thrift bitch I already am," Pelosi said.

Essentially "hispanic" means that you've got some kind of ancestry from South or Central America. A Spaniard, for example, would not label themselves as hispanic.
And depending on which PC group is using the term, hispanic may also mean, "ancestry from South or Central America and brown skin." Tons of people from South America and quite a few from Central America would not qualify under this definition, and that's the point.

I attempted to explain to her (she is particularly dense though) that using an obscenity is a venial sin and does not require a confession, especially in this forum. 1) 5th amendment angle, go after that "infamous" line and the lack of a Grand Jury
2) Attack the prosecutor as biased, using her "pray with the family" line against her
3) Attack the prosecution as racially motivated, using the NBP bounty as an example
4) Attack the prosecutor for selective prosecution, since no one has arrested anyone in the NBP
5) Attack the weakness of the case, 2nd degree murder implies intent, best you could have gotten a conviction on is Manslaughter
6) Let the facts speak for themselves, this doesn't rise above reasonable doubt
I think this prosecution is really just a sham. She knows she can't win, but it opens the door for a civil wrongful death suit once she loses. Just like OJ.

i understand the jealousy and angst some might have that they cannot stay home because finances are very harsh in their particular situation, and some of us stay home to try to keep our children on track.
i understand some women not having a feeling of self worth by staying home with the tykes. it can be a thankless job, haha
i had to work at times throughout the childrens growing years at times i felt i let them down by not being their to kiss them when they hurt. and being exhausted all the time i didn't give my best.
whichever situation chosen or out of necessity being a mom or wife is hard work, it belittles mothers to assume either way is the ONLY correct way.

A Jesuit, A Franciscan and a Benedictine were arguing over whether God loved them all equally. So they asked their rabbi friend to leave a note in the Wailing wall, asking God who he loves best. A few days later the rabbi retrieves the note and hands it to the three men. They open it and read:
I love all of you you equally.
Regards,
God, SJ

SAN FRANCISCO —
San Francisco Police were looking for a woman Wednesday who sent a man to the emergency room after hitting him in the head with a stiletto heel early Sunday morning.
According to GrubStreet.com, Matt Meidinger, the general manager at Jasper's Corner Tap & Kitchen, was leaving the Balboa Café Saturday night after drinking with some friends when he witnessed a fight breaking out between two men.
While attempting to intervene, a woman associated with one of the fighters hit him in the head with one of her high-heeled shoes.
“Blood immediately started pouring down the left side of my face so I pulled out my phone and called the police,” Meidinger wrote in an email to GrubStreet.com.
Police said that Meidinger was cut pretty badly and taken to the hospital. Later, he posted a picture someone had taken of his alleged attacker to Twitter, offering $500 for information.
MeidingerÂ’s story found traction online and within days, officers had identified the woman. If and when police take her into custody, she could be charged with aggravated assault, as police consider high-heeled stiletto shoes to be weapons.

Which culture did they "start"?
The Mexican culture, or the Peruvian culture, the Cuban culture, or the Puerto Rican...
Hispanics in the US were just polled as to how they would like to be designated. They answered that they wanted to be identified by their country of origin, not by the generic term Hispanic.
And if you embrace that term you are celebrating the oppression of the European conquistadores. Why don't you call yourself the designation of your indigenous ancestors? Stop being a slave to The Man.

Indeed interesting dicussions. My Jewish Knowledge is very sparse, I know a tad bit of Conservatism and a smattering of Orthodox from studying my cross religion work. I wouldn't stake anything on it, at best it's trivia.
Organ transplantation is really interesting. Especially looking over the religious history of it. I forget when exactly the Catholic church began to shift from it's concern over living organ donation violating the body to the duty to rescue. There's an old article called "From Agape to Organ donation" that traces this (as well as eastern religion views towards the body.)
I'm supposed to be working with a regional transplant center to launch a blog about organ transplantation (secular focus.) I was to draw on my long history in the interwebs (I've moderated at least 1 largish forum, and obviouslly hang around the Wild Wild West.), sadly I had been hanging out hear to much and was a little over worried about trolls so when I tried to stress the importance of good moderators I oversold and they locked it down so tight it basically went belly up week 2.

#584 Yes, I just witnessed that for the first time. I was checking in to Twitter for a completely unrelated issue and saw all these tweets from conservatives that I follow. Within minutes the whole place was a madhouse. It's really amazing to watch a controversy like this explode in real time, late at night after all the TV news shows are done and most people are going to bed. I was really pleased to see the conservatives opening a can on Rosen and all the liberals, and the Ann Romney herself shows up and BAM! Anyone who thinks the Republicans are bringing a knife to a gunfight in this election are wrong.
I think it must be a bitch for political operatives though. They must have some flunkies that do nothing but watch Twitter 24/7 so they can respond when shit happens. They can't take a night off or ever think "my day is over, I am having a drink and going to bed."

One should set aside the Torah to preserve life. The highest Jewish law according to some. Mitzvahs and all that I suppose. One of my other professors (Orthodox Catholic, which is wildly different from Roman Catholic) likes to comment that the RC notion of sin is far to "Juridical" (legalish). I usually snap back that we get that from our Jewish roots, meaning we hold closer to the Judeo part of the Judeo-Chrisitan heritage. Fascinating cultural histories and all that. (Is this a blog where I have to point out I'm not being a bigot/racist/other in fact this is a mere observation? Or is this a blog where I'm taken at my word and not beat up? I forget.)

Not to be cruel but:
Then he wasn't actually brain dead. "Brain death" is a horribly misused term. Misused by people in the profession too! To be "Brain Dead" legally (and for the purposes of organ donation) you have to have no activity in your brain including the brain stem. The brain stem controls breathing, so if it's gone, there's no resperation (there may be some residual heart beating for a few minutes because that sucker can keep going even after you take it out of the body.)
To many people use it to refer to "Higher Brain death" which is everything but the brain stem (so you'll still breath but your basically gone.) That's not dead, and they can't take organs.

Well to be clear that's the passage found all over the Conservative sect book I was working on at the time. I think "the torah" was a catchy way of saying "the laws." Or at least that's the implication the author gave. Orthodox is a bit more strict in that from my understanding, but still the duty to preserve life is very very high.

A little more than 24 hours after Gawker published a post purportedly written by a current, anonymous Fox News employee, the cable channel caught the "mole."
"They nailed me," Joe Muto, an associate producer on Bill O'Reilly's "The Factor" wrote on Gawker late Wednesday. "Two hours ago I was called into a meeting with Dianne Brandi, the Fox News Executive Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs, and suspended indefinitely ... with pay, oddly enough."
Gawker had promised that Muto, who joined Fox News in 2004, would provide "regular dispatches from inside the organization." It appears he will continue to write for Gawker about his career at Fox--just not from the inside.
He'll be working full time at MSNBC by next week

Underlying ObamaÂ’s entire thesis is the work of two economists, Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez. According to them, median American incomes rose just 3.2% from 1979 through 2007. (All figures are inflation adjusted.)
So what happened to the rest of the dough? The top 10%, 1% and 0.1% grabbed all the money. Or pretty much most of it. Time to crank up taxes on the rich and spend more on the middle class. ItÂ’s not overstating things to say that the findings of Piketty and Saez form the very heart of Obamanomics, giving a powerful economic rationale for Obama policies such as ending the upper-end Bush tax cuts to Obamacare to the Buffett Rule.
But it’s just not true, according to a new study in National Tax Journal from researchers at Cornell University. (Here’s an earlier, working-paper version.) The academics, led by economist Richard Burkhauser, don’t say the findings of Piketty and Saez are wrong — just incredibly, massively incomplete. According to the Cornell study, median household income – properly measured – rose 36.7%, not 3.2% like Piketty and Saez argue. That’s a big miss.
And all income levels got richer. Yes, the very rich did exceptionally well, mostly due to technology and globalization. Incomes rose 63% for the top 5%, 56% for the top 10% and 52.6% for the top 20%. But everyone else made out pretty well, too. Incomes rose 40.4% for households between the 60th and 80th percentiles, 36.9% for the next quintile, 25.0% for the next, and 26.4% for the bottom 20%. There’s the “shared prosperity” Obama says he wants, right in front of his eyes. (Indeed, the study finds, income inequality has actually been shrinking since 1989, with the Gini index falling to 0.362 from 0.372.)Posted by: T. How long ago was this? The so called Harvard Criteria have been working very very well since the late 60s/early 70s, I'm floored. (especially since part of the Harvard Criteria has a ventilator removal test.)
Now days they tend to do blood flow testing, if no blood in the brain, you're brain dead. Seems fairly reasonable. This just sounds like someone wasn't watching the tests close enough. . In any case, that's a bit crazy because once they removed the vent that should have superceded the diagnosis meaning he wasn't actually legally dead. I'm sorry you had to go through that
The #1 problem in medicine is a failure to communicate, #2 is failure to consider the emotions of the patient and family.

There are several examples of (well: references to) ancient Jews' bodies being preserved for re-burial later (Jacob, for instance. Also Joseph, I'm pretty sure). Also, with the ones who were buried permanently the first time, references to anointing the body with spices and oils, and wrapping the body (pretty sure that's mentioned for both King Saul and King David, but I'd have to double check that).
So my question was is the prohibition (if so strong a term can be used) ignore that kind of "temporary" embalming, and, if not, how does it address those examples?

Update: Democrats were quick to insist that Rosen has no role at the White House, but Jim Gerahty reports that the rebuttal seems to be more of an issue of semantics:
White house visitor logs indicate that “Hilary Rosen” visited the White House thirty-five times.
Patraeus only visited 9 times. He's less important than Ms. Rosen

Which would have been fine had they not interpreted her living will request of not having extraordinary means of prolonging her life as meaning she didn't want a feeding tube, even though she was still frigging conscious and talking and completely aware of what was going on.
When the BFF was dying I let her know that I would not remove nutrition or water from her. I would not demand that a feeding tube be inserted either, but, if it was, then I wouldn't remove it. Fortunately (for certain definitions of fortune), she pretty much went from reasonably coherent to passing away within about 72 hours and it was only the last 10 hours or so that she was unable to swallow on her own so it never became an issue.
I made sure that my parents were very clear in their living wills as to what they want re: nutrition. That's a good reminder for the Horde, be very sure you understand how your state/province/whatever interprets what you have listed.

If that's not the case, he was killed in vain, and we're just waiting for it to happen to our children. He'll have gotten away with impunity. It's a disgrace that man hasn't been dragged out of his house and tied to a car and taken away. That's the only kind of retribution that people like that understand. It's a disgrace that man hasn't been shot yet. Forget about him being arrested--the fact that he hasn't been shot yet is a disgrace. That's how I feel personally about it."

“As part of a settlement for alleged excessive diesel idling in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Durham School Services will commit to reduce idling from its school bus fleet of 13,900 buses operating in 30 states,” read an EPA press release on Tuesday.
The EPA says an agency inspector two years ago spotted buses of the Durham School Services, the second largest school bus transportation contractor in the country, “idling for extended periods of time” in school lots in New England.
“The inspector observed some buses idling for close to two hours before departing the bus lot to pick up school children,” it said. State rules limit idling to three minutes in Connecticut and five minutes in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, where the infractions occurred.

The Interior Department says it will not turnover all of the requested documents and accused the House Resources Committee conducting oversight of the incident of violating the administrationÂ’s good faith effort to work with the panel.

I'll have to double-check but I'm pretty sure that's only if you're not paying. IIRC, the point of that law was that the State Taxpayers should not be on the hook for permanent medical care for you. As long as you (or your insurance) is paying, they can't just kick you out.

Let's at least give the Texas law it's fair due. There must be a "futility" judgement by 2 doctors, an ethics board convinened and then you have 10 days to find another facility that will take the patient. I've got friends whove worked under that law, it's very very rarely used. Docs don't want to invoke it. Many hospitals are building in such policies because there's no other way to handle the fact that sometimes medical treatment is actually contraindicated but in our litigious society you may be compelled to give it. (There are cases on record of demanding blood transfusions for patients with large wounds that can't be surgically repaired. Blood goes in and imediately right back out again.)
Again though sufficient communication could fix most of these problems.

Old Cleveland Stadium. You couldn't use the bathrooms after about the fourth inning of Indians games without facing Adventures In Plumbing, there was a better than even chance that you would be carried off by a swarm of gnats bigger than your head and it had a certain eau de stadium to it. On the other hand, you pretty much had your own personal beer vendor for the entire game.
