1 Good Morning Morons.  Today is Thursday, April 19, 2012.  On this day in 1775 the America revolution started at Concord, MA when the MA militia fired on British regulars.  On this day in 1993 The Branch Dividian compound was burned to the ground.

2 Hillary gives Egypt $1.3B that we do not have despite congressional ban on aid to Egypt.  These people are truly lawless assholes and it isn't just Obama unless he forced this.   A Republican would have been impeached long ago. Remember how RR wanted to aid the anti-communist rebels in Central America and congress wanted to impeach him over it.   When are the Republicans going to grow some balls.

3 Stealth bill working its way through congress to install black box data recorders in all autos starting in 2015.  This has already passed the Senate and is expected to easily pass the House.   WTF people.  Do we even have an opposition Party anymore?   And WTF does the congress get the authority to require spy devices in automobiles?

10 Light beer in a Margarita?

I was in Chili's the other day and they have ads all over the table for new drinks and one of them has a tiny bottle of Corona light clipped to the side of the Margarita glass.  And I'm thinking, WTF?  It seems like the attention span of most Americans these days is about 12 minutes and they must be given something new and shiny and different just to get their attention.  Me?  Gimme a shot and a beer please.  Make it a double.

I blame video games, personally.

32 My father turned 89 today, wish Him a happy birthday.

Oh, and our kitchen sink (literally) blew out Tuesday evening. Got a plumber friend of a friend to fix it yesterday. Only took 3 1/2 hours, $90 and come booze. Also only had to tear out the plaster wall under the sink and cut the back out of one cabinet.

There were already telltale leaks from what must have been pinholes, but the plumbing got clogged and we plunged it from the kitchen sink. That did it. We split the bottom of the drain pipe for about 20". Looked like the side of the fucking Titanic.

Lesson for all of you morons -- always let the water run for at least two minutes after turning off the garbage disposal, especially if you have copper pipes. Otherwise, gunk collects along the bottom of the pipe. If the pipe is copper, the gunk will corrode it. If it's plastic it will slowly cause a clog.

36 So Philadelphia is in an extra-special tizzy over Dick Clark, since Bandstand started (and went national) from here. Anybody in  their 50s remembers when Philadelphia was Hip City USA, and kids all over the nation were looking to Sout' Philly and Nicetown for the most furious dances. (Nicetown, by the way, no longer as nice as it was in 1965.)

Me, I'd hate a guy who took my town's claim to cool out to L.A., especially since rock 'n' roll apparently turned to shit shortly thereafter. But all the local shows are rounding up the aging Bandstand dancers for a wallow in nostalgia.

Even Chris Matthews found the Philly angle in his closing comment yesterday. Too bad he's ignoring the Philly angle in Obama's looming doom. It's gonna kill Ol' Chris if Pennsylvania goes for Romney. ("How can they vote for a candidate they're not excited about?")

Yes, Slick originally put some other skeezer into office before she got busted for hiring illegals and not paying FICA iirc; and the white trash POS was determined to put a vag in that non-missionary position so we got Shakes Reno.  Anyway she made her bones, in part, as being part and parcel of the sham "recovered memory" bullshit to arrive at phony sex abuse claims.  Iirc she jammed up some Florida cop with garbage charges that were eventually dismissed when somebody looked at the absurd claims and knew their was no fucking way.  By that time she was on to incinerating people and sending kids back to Castro because she's a man-hating bitch.  It was hilarious when the lurching androgyne ran for governor of Florida and didn't even make it out of the primary.

Reno (and others like GSA and FnF criminals) should not just be shown the door, they should be prosecuted and jailed if found guilty.  (The downside of this is that with a Holder DoJ and a legacy of liberal activist judges being appointed to the bench at every level, I don't expect the courts to be impartial.)

I only use it occasionally to drop off a greeting card because I drive by it a lot. I expect it will be closed, and nobody will notice. There is another one in a strip shopping center that is less than a mile from my township's main post office. I never use that one unless I am shipping something or I have other things to do in that shopping center. Then there is the main township PO, which has its own building, and the "big" one in the town where my address is. Makes no sense whatsoever.

Here in Wisconsin that unions are paying out of state workers to come in and agitate for the Walker recall.  From Pennsylvania and Ohio, they are paying two months salary  plus benefits including health and dental, for people to come in and work the neighborhoods against Walker.   A local doctor had a patient last week who came in with a complaint and revealed that he was from Ohio, there were hundreds and hundreds more like him, and that the money was good.  Good enough to leave his wife and family for two months.  They are put up in hotels and given expense accounts for their meals as well.

You confuse Republican and conservative. It should be obvious that the two are not the same.  And you are still mi8ssing the point.

The object is not the process, the real object was to cut spending and defund some departments.  With the Dems in charge of the Senate and having the President the only way to do that is via split funding bills with take it or leave it.

You said they could not do that when, in fact, they can.  IF THEY have balls and truly want to do it.

178 Morning morons! So, I'm in the truck driving home from dropping the boy off at school and listening to my local AM talk station. The news comes on and they play a snippet of some doofus that's involved with the big "Stand Your Ground" protest in Tampa and this maroon actually says that people shouldn't be allowed to use a gun to defend their lives if they are in a fist fight. Because no one's ever been beaten to death, I guess. Or maybe you're just supposed to lay back and let someone beat your brains in. At your funeral your family can take comfort in the fact that you didn't resort to using one of those nasty, icky guns. Between this idiot and the geniuses that stood in line to give out their SSNs in exchange for a bogus "Obama Stimulus" debit card I don't know if I can take this amount of stupid anymore.

****

It is a sign of a complete lack of respect for, well, obviously, themselves and their families, but of their country as well.

They are quite well aware that they represent the U.S.. They are quite well aware of the risks created by their behavior, yet they not only fell into a honey-trap, they planned the fall in advance.

This is a blatant display of disrespect for the man in charge.

Back during Clinton's reign, my friend, an FHP officer, rode along with an SS agent during Clinton's trip to Tampa. He was surprised by how open he was in his disdain for Clinton. He said that while, normally, guarding the big guy was considered an elite position, the agents he knew wanted absolutely nothing to do with it because they never knew what they might have to help cover up.

When you assign men to protect another man, one who himself has bragged about drug use, has spent a lifetime of indoctrination into a radical camp of America haters, has done his very best to bow to our enemies, and has created a more dangerous world for the citizens of his own country, it must be damned difficult to commit to the job of protecting him.

It by no means excuses their behavior, but it might explain why the very best of the best don't want the job.

Hah!   I don't know if anyone else has seen or posted about this, but apparently the EPA (*hack, vomit!*)     is soliciting "six-word essays" (aka "flash fiction," but true) in celebration of Mother Earth in honor of Earth Day.

-------

Today at EPA, we are launching the Six Words for the Planet project in partnership with SMITH Magazine. To start off I wanted to share a few six-word essays written by my coworkers and me here at EPA.

Here are my Six Words for the Planet:

Many nations. One planet. Our home.

Here are six-word essays about the environment written by my fellow EPA employees:

Healthier families, cleaner communities, stronger America.

Lisa P Jackson, EPA Administrator

Breathe; A moment in nature. Breathe!

Danny

Our only. Our one. Home planet.

Jeanethe

Now itÂ’s your turn. What are your Six Words for the Planet? Write your six-word essay and share it at http://www.smithmag.net/planet. Throughout the project, weÂ’ll feature your Six Words for the Planet on the EPA.gov homepage and EPA social media channels.

--------

Just copy/pasting that drivel has made me smell of patchouli and pot.  Yick.

Anyway, I think this would be an excellent opportunity for the 'rons and 'ronettes to put their feelings for the EPA and the secular theology of climate change alarmism into short, sharp, pointed, hilarious six-word essays.   They won't make it to EPA.gov, and maybe not even to Smith Mag's page, but darn it, we'll always have Twitter, Facebook, and the HQ!

Here's my first try:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The number of Americans claiming unemployment benefits for the first time fell only slightly last week, dampening hopes of a pick-up in job creation in April after March's slowdown.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits slipped 2,000 to a seasonally adjusted 386,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday. The prior week's data was revised to show 8,000 more applications received than previously reported.

"The number suggests that improvement is slowing down," said Subodh Kumar, chief investment strategist at Subodh Kumar & Associates in Toronto.

You wouldn't say that if you knew the piss poor stats.  Nature Medicine reported a while back that 4/5 PSA tests were false positives (double checked by the standard finger test IIRC) and of the 1/5 that were "cancer" something like 60% resulted in biopsys (which have some nasty side effects) that showed "slow growing unlikely to kill" cancer.

314 I was in the AF for 10 years. Personnel in a military or quasi-military unit like the Secret Service only pull stupid s**t like that when the unit's culture leads them to believe they can get away with it. At best their superiors knowingly turn a blind eye to such behavior. At worst, the superiors themselves participated in similar behavior as well. Thats how units lose discipline. The SS stor to me reads like the the GSA convention story, bloated government workers led by corrupt and undisciplined people doing corrupt and undisciplined things. These kinds of clusterfarks are always a top down leadership failure.

I cannot listen to Hannity.      I think he's a nice, smart guy,      but     his     cadence drives me INSANE.        And he blathers too much when he's talking to callers,      so it ends up    with Hannity and the caller shouting to be heard over each other.         My annoyance with the latter      is exacerbated by the fact that I HATE      call-in     shows     in general.       I always mute the volume when Rush takes calls, and I rarely listen on Open Line Friday.   Hannity's show is virtually all call-ins, all the time.  *tears hair*

When: May 26
Where: Somewhere in DFW Metroplex (specific venue TBD)
How do I get info?: email me (dedicatedtenther[at]gmail[dot]com) to let me know you'd like to attend.  Also where you're coming from so I can scout locations.
Why do you keep spamming us with this? Because I hope that one of the cob-loggers will get tired of it and finally just post it in the sidebar.

I miss the days of listening to non-syndicated conservative talk radio on KGO from San Fransisco...and then laughing when liberal tools like Bernie Ward came on, (he's currently serving time for kiddie porn, I believe).

Morning, all.

When the EPA was originally created....it served a useful purpose. Rivers, streams and land, were dumping grounds for raw sewage, chemicals....you name it. ....It was gross.

But liberal mission creep set in, after the original goals had been accomplished.....and the EPA morphed into the job killing monster that it is today. ....Similar to what happened with the Unions.

363 I'm pretty sure I would have taken a 2 x 4 to the teachers head had she done this to my child: "A Missouri mother is seeking school policy reform after her kindergartner had an accident in class and was humiliatingly forced to sit in her own waste for an extended duration of time. The 6-year-old daughter of Lisa Skidmore from Washburn was in class where the teacher had given students an opportunity to use the restroom before a testing period during which they would not be able to leave the room. While the test was in session, the little girl said she had to go but teacher said no. Unfortunately, she couldnÂ’t hold it long enough and pooped her pants. Skidmore said when she picked up her daughter, she still was covered in diarrhea. Skidmore said the teacher didnÂ’t excused her daughter from the class nor did she clean her up. The little girl was forced to wait out the testing period and for her mother to come get her. In some act of benevolence, the teacher did provide the child with a plastic trash bag to wrap around herself." And, here's the infuriating part: "The news anchor explained the school was in the process of taking a state standardized test when the incident occurred. Although the testing did not apply to children at this level, the kindergarten teacher was holding to the strict testing guidelines to prepare the children for what they would be met with in the future." h/the blaze

Hipster Film Crew Interrupts Yoga Class to Illegally Kill Deer

A Brooklyn filmmaker whose post-apocalyptic hipster survival flick premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival this week could be on the hot seat with state authorities after his actors shot a pair of live deer without a license      (MWR - and     out of season)      as part of the movie...

-----------

That opening paragraph is hysterical on multiple levels.

A) A "hipster survival flick?"    What, is it going to be eight minutes long?   Because that's about as long as your average hipster would survive in a post-apocalyptic dystopia.    One day without their Starbucks half-caf venti latte and they'll waste away.

B) Who     in God's name gave      [hipsters[/i]      access to       firearms?     Talk about postapocalyptic scenario!

This is my favorite quote from the story, though:

"We are idiots. We didn't know how to do this [hunting] stuff."

Please refer to my point (A)    above regarding hipster survival     chances following the apocalypse.

bbl. I hope you all are still in a good mood when I return.

BREAKING: Without Warning, FBI Halts Intel Sharing Patrick Poole (hat tip JC)

On March 1, the FBI stopped sharing vital terror intel with state and local officials without explanation.

Yes....it looks like "something" to me. .....Makes me wonder what the FBI is doing, that it doesn't want  state level officials to see.

404 >>>426  dramatic deer-killing scene!

I almost ran into one this morning, in my truck, on the way to work, doing 15mph.  Damn near spilled my coffee.  Bastards.

Oh, well.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

407 @441 Interesting to note the rush to ignore that the terrorists blew themselves up killing others. And the rush to vilify our own troops. And the rush to apologize.

What could go wrong?

410 435 The image of Obama on the bus tells me that he's in deep deep shit. That's pandering, but to his base, not anyone new. It's a maudlin appeal to the hopey- changers. Ochavez is in big trouble. I expect him to flip out, drastically. It'll be interesting to see if his handlers can keep it under wraps. Posted by: BlackOrchid at April 19, 2012 10:44 AM (SB0V2)

Nonsense, this is poaching plain and simple.  Hunting out of season is a big no-no.  Also, how much did the deer suffer.  A well  placed shot kills pretty quickly.  How many times did these idiots have to shoot the deer?

Finally, did they eat the meat or at least allow someone else to claim it?  Big waste of animal flesh on both sides of the gun.

I have a dinner party tomorrow night for my husbands 30something birthday. Been getting up early just to get some things done. Luckily, my husband also stayed home yesterday to help out a bit (I just had knee surgery - so it's hard going for now). Actually, my hubby stayed home because a new dungeon was opening in RIFT, hehe. But, I snagged him to help. I don't blame him though. I cannot count how many times I was "sick" when new content came out for all of those games in my past. Working hard is good for the soul. Playing hard, just as good imho. Yep. Rush and Hannity are the same. 3 hour long infomercials that are excruciatingly painful to sit through. I miss the days of listening to non-syndicated conservative talk radio on KGO from San Fransisco...and then laughing when liberal tools like Bernie Ward came on, (he's currently serving time for kiddie porn, I believe).

If you have access to Sirius/XM (and if you feel like it) you can try the Patriot channel. They have a few national shows but the noon-3 EDT slot is filled by a young guy named Andrew Wilkow. Unlike Hannity and mostly Rush, he's not polite to the libtards who call in. He doesn't scream, talk over people, and immediately hang up, either (like Levin does sometimes). He takes logic and beats the libtards' brains in. It can get old over a 3 hour period but I liek him in short bursts.

423 Even granting that to be true, shouldn't the States have been taking care of that?

I'm all for federalism but (I know, I know).  Pollution would become a race to the bottom among the States vs. now among Nations (see Chinese toxic swamps).  Isn't it Congresses job to mind what it has delegated and the Executives to do or do away with bad regs.  It's like a zillion other things in DC these days, deliberately driven Full Retard my the !@#$%^&* Left.

From Drudge headline “A thousand bucks to shake Obama’s hand.”

The man being interviewed is Lonnie Peek.

With a quick google I came up with this:
Besides serving on the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy Board of Directors, he also serves on the Board of Directors of New Detroit, Inc, Detroit Economic Growth Corporation and the Board of Visitors School of Social Work, WSU. He has served as a political analyst on Channel 7 WXYZ and Fox-2 WJBK, and writes a weekly column for the Michigan Chronicle. He has also been involved in hosting various radio programs for more than 30 years in the Detroit area.

If this were a conservative candidate this person would have surely been described as a political operative.

432 LA TIMES
“We considered this very carefully,” Maharaj said. “At the end of the day, our job is to publish information that our readers need to make informed decisions. We have a particular duty to report vigorously and impartially on all aspects of the American mission in Afghanistan. On balance, in this case, we felt that the public interest here was served by publishing a limited, but representative sample of these photos, along with a story explaining the circumstances under which they were taken.”

"Reporting vigorously and impartially on all aspects of the American mission in Afghanistan--as if a representative sample" ?!

Representative Sampler, like Forrest Gump's momma's box of chocolates...

Any-to-No LA TIMES photo journalist samples of our military personnel, accomplishing personal humanitarian efforts to meet the POTUS unrealistic demands, the SCOAMF expectations that our military personnel to be all things to all people at all times, Nation Build, despite realistic frustrations that our men and women experience from honoring the US insanely suicidal impositions named "Rules of Engagement" that Obama "inherited" from Bush.

LA Times publication of the 2010 photos isn't "hurting" Obama. Rather, it feeds DHS Janet Napolitano's memo rationale to discredit our veterans as violent radical domestic terrorists.
