— Gabriel Malor Happy Frozen Monday. It's darn cold out today.
Just one item from me this morning: the Obama Admin is vowing to continue a Medicare "bonus" program that the GAO is saying is just a costly pay-off, with no real benefit.
Remember how Republicans were hitting Obama for cutting Medicare as part of the overall Obamacare package? He didn't like that (the truth hurts); so he claimed that he had the authority to simply give $8 billion in "bonus" payments to certain Medicare providers. It wasn't political, he claimed; just a means of incentivising plans to cut costs.
You read that right. Giving bonuses to nearly all plans somehow causes them to cut costs. Like magic.
The administration is defending the program, saying that without the bonuses many plans wouldn't have an incentive to improve quality.
Does. Not. Compute. Liberals really are the dumbest people on the Earth.

Most people around here know better, but there are some who started planting a week or two ago.
My raspberries had already put out all their leaves about 3 weeks ago, due to the warm weather. The last week of normal temperatures is causing them some stress. The damn things are like weeds though, so I'm not too worried that they'll die, I just might not get as many berries as I'd hoped.

They are just now in full bloom and I have planted nothing. Frost-free date here is May 10 and last day for a freeze is in late April, I believe.
Then why do the nurseries put out all of those plants so early? So that you will end up purchasing twice, after you lose the first batch to cold weather.
Also, it's been my experience that planting a lot of things when it's still cool (like tomatoes) will not get you a head start. They just sit there 8until the eather warms up, if they don't get killed.

A man doesnÂ’t need to have his penis removed to legally become a woman, according to new order from the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal.
In a 95-page decision issued April 11, Sheri Price, a vice-chair with the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, gave the Ontario government 180 days to “revise the criteria for changing sex designation on a birth registration.”
The Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services was ordered to draw up a new sex-reassignment framework by autumn, but Ms. Price declined to set out any guidelines other than suggesting that third-party “guarantors” could be enlisted to decide when a person has officially switched sex.

We have a nursery near us that starts tomatoes quite early in hot houses. By Mother's day (mid-May) they are 2-3 feet tall with buds and in some cases tomatoes started.

“We had been attempting to highlight the inability of Congress to do anything,” recalled William M. Daley, who was the White House chief of staff at the time. “The president expressed frustration, saying we have got to scour everything and push the envelope in finding things we can do on our own.”
For Mr. Obama, that meeting was a turning point. As a senator and presidential candidate, he had criticized George W. Bush for flouting the role of Congress. And during his first two years in the White House, when Democrats controlled Congress, Mr. Obama largely worked through the legislative process to achieve his domestic policy goals.
But increasingly in recent months, the administration has been seeking ways to act without Congress. Branding its unilateral efforts “We Can’t Wait,” a slogan that aides said Mr. Obama coined at that strategy meeting, the White House has rolled out dozens of new policies — on creating jobs for veterans, preventing drug shortages, raising fuel economy standards, curbing domestic violence and more.

Still not out of the woods but he's not in a persistent vegetative state. They've narrowed down his sepsis to a gram negative rod bacilli. They should have it further narrowed down today.
I'm worried about the fluid in his lungs. After he complained about breathing difficulties around 4:00 AM they gave him a nebulizer which helped him a lot. Blood gasses are good -- no CO2 buildup, but they took him off the saline drip and gave him a diuretic. It seemed to have a rapid effect. Trouble is, hydration is important for a person with sepsis. At least when I left him at 7:00 this morning his breathing was less labored and he was comfortable enough to doze off. Only time will tell.

More funny- George Bush never governed by fiat- certainly not to the extent of Barry- and had two years of Democrat Controlled Congress, but somehow still managed to get his way. Barack Obama- also with two years of Democrat Controlled Congress, has precisely one (or is it two?) legislative victory(ies).
George Bush was a dumb hick, who somehow managed to bamboozle or out maneuver all of those Democrats, but Barack Obama is cosmopolitan and the smartest president ever, but can't even get his own party to vote for his budget.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The college class of 2012 is in for a rude welcome to the world of work.
A weak labor market already has left half of young college graduates either jobless or underemployed in positions that don't fully use their skills and knowledge.
Young adults with bachelor's degrees are increasingly scraping by in lower-wage jobs — waiter or waitress, bartender, retail clerk or receptionist, for example — and that's confounding their hopes a degree would pay off despite higher tuition and mounting student loans.

During the bruising Republican primaries, there was one candidate whose coverage was more relentlessly negative than the rest. In fact, he did not enjoy a single week where positive treatment by the media outweighed the negative.
His name is Barack Obama.
That is among the findings of a study by the Project for the Excellence In Journalism a Washington nonprofit that examined 52 key newspaper, television, radio, and Web outlets.
“Day in and day out, he was criticized by the entire Republican field on a variety of policies,” Mark Jurkowitz, the group’s associate director, says of Obama. “And he was inextricably linked to events that generated negative coverage”—including rising gas prices, the ailing economy, and the renewed debated over the healthcare law.
Poor Barry the MFM has been so mean and unfair to him. Good thing a non biased study has found this out and reported it. The MFM must do penance for picking on its god in such a mean way

All I know is my sis had it in like 4th grade and they ran her out of school like she had Ebola. Miraculously, nobody else in the family caught it and it cleared up in three or four days.
17 yr old cat used to get it often, probably from other cat swatting him in the face with litterbox claws. It cost a small fortune for the vet to treat it -- with antibiotics. So I started using triple antibiotic ointment around his eye's mucous membranes as soon as they looked pink and puffy and haven't had to have the vet treat him for it for years.

One thing I find interesting about the Twitter lynch mob against Zimmerman, besides the astounding lack of a basic understanding of the legal process, is how many of the threats involve the proclaimant calling Zimmerman variations of the N-word. I admit I'm a white bread New Englander, but I just always assumed that the N-word was something that black individuals used when describing one another, be it in derogatory or teasing fashion. I've never heard it used in relation to so-called "white hispanics." Did I miss another fricking progressive memo on racist terminology?

Obama's administration pledged to financially bail-out the EU.
Repeatedly, the USA has already been there and done that. And look what they've made of themselves, after all our sacrifices. Damn Europe to the Europeans. Remember, they created their EU in order to compete AGAINST the USA, certainly not on behalf of American citizens.
Phyllis Schlafly tore down Obama's pledge of US tax funds to bail-out Europe. Who else heard her cut him to pieces on the radio Saturday? Eagle Forum Live. Jesus, if she had voice in the Republican Party today, the GOP would show backbone. (Yes, I saw her endorsements.)
Bob Chapman, The International Forecaster, isn't in the minority opinion of what's going on in the global piracy finance industry. It isn't as if the corrupt monopolist authoritarians don't know what they're doing, or how to accomplish the Road to Serfdom. Even the antithesis of Austrian Economics, FDR New Deal advocate Wesley Tarpley, identifies what the global bankers are doing to destroy national sovereignty around the world.
John Stossel ... get the voters to know prior to ballot.
Anyone but Obama must be the one prepared to serve a single term, the worst economic period the world has known, restoring sovereign liberty through the US Constitutional Republic. No wonder "usurp the tea party" Jeb Bush said not this time.
Haven't heard squat from Bachmann. If she were ever serious about balancing the budget, then is she preparing the House Tea Party Caucus in concert with Senator Paul (and Ryan) a 10% flat tax to sweep away all the impenetrable US Tax Code off the books? Lowered taxes would require pruning federal/government bureaucracies from the public largesse. As with deleting ObamaCare from the books, Congress must terminate what Congress created. Hell, Congress won't even bail-out Congress: WHERE'S THE BUDGET! Democrats refuse to budget: "Not until after 2012" as if that means in 2013, NO. Not until Republicans et al. vote out the old and vote in the new Tea Party FISCAL CONSERVATIVES for Constitutional Governance.
Begs to question, were Romney POTUS, would he refuse bail-outs? Would Romney "moderately" veto such a new tax code, plus cuts terminating corrupt and abusive federal bureaus? "Promise them anything; just get their votes" + "Miss Me Yet?" Bush endorses biggest gov too big to fail, unprecedented fiscal corruption and unconstitutional Cabinet autonomy of the Treasury Secretary Office, "gifted" to Obama's "inheritance". Beyond (debate) promising more authoritarian federal power added to further strengthen the Patriot Act, what else will Romney advance and sign into law is anyone's guess. Unwilling or incapable of defending his interpretation of the Constitution in debate without first consulting his lawyers (deferring to Rep.Paul as "the constitutional candidate"), unwilling or incapable of amassing Congressional votes to strike out unconstitutional laws, or to enforce constitutional law (were the Republican Leadership serious, it would be done, and Obama would be impeached), I'm betting he's like McCain, ready to drown us with "comprehensive reform packages" too big to read, too big to fail. Given Bush's 1000 points of light, NAFTA and amnesty for illegals, anticipate "Bright Horizons" for the children, for our own good, and of course sincerely with the best intentions.

"As the trio were only granted short term visas for the premiere, they are all expected to return to Cuba in the next few days. While Dariel has insisted he will be returning to his country, it doesn't look as promising that Anailin and Javier will join him. Here's hoping they do. Being in a movie like this makes them extra recognizable and they are doing more harm than good to themselves by running. Think better of this plan, you two. And be safe! "

"If I Wanted America To Fail..."
I'd sink billions of dollars into bombers that couldn't jam radar (B-1) or sit out in the rain (B-2).
And I'd spend even more billions of dollars on bogus wars that only produced opium addicted soldiers.
