No need to imagine
With President Bush pushing forward with his economic policy that has helped create a massive unemployment crisis, a closer analysis of the employment data shows that this crisis has now spread to almost every corner of the nation. Specifically, using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, it is possible to see how many jobs have been lost by city and state since Bush took office. Here are some highlights from those findings
So what was this massive unemployment?
4%
The horror the unemployment rate was 4% in 2000 and by 2005 it had exploded to 5%!

Plus, I think CNN picked him because he looks like what liberals imagine all conservatives look like: pasty faced and overweight.
I also think they chose Dana Loesch because she comes across as bitchy on TV.
Thus endeth my media analysis of the day.

The Dems going after Ann Romney was yet another media squirrel.
Anything to take the public's eyes off of the awful depression economy we have now. Even the liberal rag BI above reporting that 41% of jobs lost have been "recovered". No mention that only 38% of working age people are working and that half of those are in government jobs.

Since I didn't know who Eric Erickson was either I just googled him and read his sand in his crack article at his blog. By the time I was through the first paragraph I already hated him. What a self-important pissant. I'm no huge fan of McConnell (although I think a lot of morons pile on him when he's sometimes doing a good job in a minority position with one of the most loathsome piles of obstructionist shit running the clown car) but why the fuck should he care about somebody whom I didn't even know the first thing about. And if he kept his pansy yap shut when Rosen was blasting Ann Romney, then the fat tub of goo fully deserves his anonymity.
Posted by: Captain Hate at April 26, 2012 03:46 AM (4atNB)
This is important as it keeps them from getting any traction on this crap. And Romney can say, "Why does he want to talk about dogs rather then jobs, of which there are none?"
The pressure has to be put on them constantly, over every stupid trick and statement. We shouldn't let up for an instant.

Then promptly deserted him with much stupid hand-wringing when Perry flubbed in the debates.
He's a useless wannabee who fancies himself a player.
I can't stand him. I read his column about why he didn't say anything to defend Ann and basically it was "I am so smart I was thinking about a rebuttal for something else and didn't hear her."
Lame excuse and a pretty nervy one since he expects everyone in Congress to know every policy detail that he is interested in. And yet he "missed the significance" of what Rosen said.
Pffft. I get better analysis here from the morons, by a long shot.

It's been a busy week for TSA. They molested three children, a ten year old with a diabetes pump, a four year old who hugged her grandma and a seven year old with cerebral palsy. They also sexually assaulted a Congressman and four TSA screeners were arrested for smuggling drugs through LAX.
Mitt could hit a home run by making the elimination of the evil TSA a serious goal of his campaign. These assholes are truly hated by a large majority of Americans. Hated.

Ya know, as a big Palin fan I was very underwhelmed with how Willard first appeared in the primaries. I thought he appeared very nervous and unnatural and was thinking "He's had four fucking years to get ready for this and is now looking like Zippy the Pinhead in public". Plus he had worthless fucks like John Sununu carrying his water that made me think this was that pile of shit Poppy Bush v2.0. But all that is in the past because for some reason, and I think it started with that dumbass Rosen's comments on Ann, he appears much more natural and a real person.
But a lot of that has to do with having a first rate team in place and is a good indication of Romney's executive capacity to form it. The contrast with the turds that McRino had is truly telling (and is it any surprise that catamite Steve Schmidt was on Scarblowhard's shit show yesterday urging a Frum-esque campaign). If Palin had an apparent weakness (assuming she really wanted to run this time, which isn't necessarily true because she may have figured she'd been too damaged by the 2008 quislings for this year to be practicable) it was in setting up a comparable organization. She still might be playing a long game but Romney's operation should serve as a template for future candidates.

The MSM will start with the feigned waking up between now and next January (note that it has already started). They'll start noting that "oh, you know, we really haven't been as diligent as we should have been with the current President" and start commenting on how they are going to address it. This awakening will kick into high gear come November 7th - where even the new President-elect's sister's husband's brother-in-law's second cousin's previous boyfriend's past girlfriend is rumored to have once let a dog lick her face and slept on her bed about 10 years ago -- and how we should all be outraged that a man elected to be President allowed this to happen and is associating with alleged beastialityist.
In about 4 years they'll start with a feigned, "oh, we may have been too probing, we'll take it easier on the next President - 'we swears'". Then if a R is re-elected, "well, the people spoke, we need to remain that dilligent"...
Repeat ad naseum....

On February 26, George Zimmerman shot and killed unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin in what Zimmerman says was self-defense. The furor that ensued has consumed the country and prompted a re-examination of guns, race and self-defense laws enacted in nearly half the United States.
During the time Zimmerman was in hiding, his detractors defined him as a vigilante who had decided Martin was suspicious merely because he was black. After Zimmerman was finally arrested on a charge of second-degree murder more than six weeks after the shooting, prosecutors portrayed him as a violent and angry man who disregarded authority by pursuing the 17-year-old.
But a more nuanced portrait of Zimmerman has emerged from a Reuters investigation into Zimmerman's past and a series of incidents in the community in the months preceding the Martin shooting.
His detractors. You mean like the MFM and the president
The 28-year-old insurance-fraud investigator comes from a deeply Catholic background and was taught in his early years to do right by those less fortunate. He was raised in a racially integrated household and himself has black roots through an Afro-Peruvian great-grandfather - the father of the maternal grandmother who helped raise him.
Does this make him a black Hispanic? Should the Justice for Trayvon crowd start beating up black people? If anything happens to Zimmerman it's the fault of the MFM the race baiters and Barry

They Media was never in this "for Trayvon." He was a useful piece in the ratings game. That they were also able to poke a stick in the eye of Second Amendment proponents was just an added bonus.
Well, now everyone thinks they know what happened. But, aha!, they don't. Because the MFM concealed it. So now, there will be a dramatic build up. We'll have articles talking about how good a guy Zimmerman was, how upstanding, how that arrest in his past was just a misunderstanding, and he had to be a pretty clean guy to get his CCW in the first place... Then, just before the trial (if they have their way), there will be a "bombshell" piece that points out exactly how thin the prosecution's evidence is. America will wait with baited breath: will the jury convict, or won't they? They won't know who to root for. It'll be like every bad courtroom drama you've ever seen on TV, except with real consequences.

The trouble with an unjust prosecution, both in the real world and in MFM world, is there will always be people of extremely low IQs that will think Zimmerman is guilty of something; and the dimmest of bulbs might act on it. Here's the dirty little secret (well, actually, another in a long list of things that the MFM keeps leaving out of their coverage of Trayvon) that Stacey McCain found this morning.
Though civil rights demonstrators have argued Zimmerman should not have prejudged Martin, one black neighbor of the Zimmermans said recent history should be taken into account.
“Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. I’m black, OK?” the woman said, declining to be identified because she anticipated backlash due to her race. She leaned in to look a reporter directly in the eyes. “There were black boys robbing houses in this neighborhood,” she said. “That’s why George was suspicious of Trayvon Martin.”

At Patterico's:
Justices across the ideological spectrum appeared inclined on Wednesday to uphold a controversial part of ArizonaÂ’s aggressive 2010 immigration law, based on their questions at a Supreme Court argument.
“You can see it’s not selling very well,” Justice Sonia Sotomayor, a member of the court’s liberal wing and its first Hispanic justice, told Solicitor General Donald B. Verrilli Jr., referring to a central part of his argument against the measure.

So they lied by 3,000 last week. Does anyone remember how many it was the week before that? I want to say it was roughly the same amount. So if we figure that in, the real number is probably much closer to 391,000 claims, not 388,000.

Or am I being too cynical about the DemocRAT's/MFM's motives?
Hardly. Cynicism, like curmudgeonlinessism, is a trait that's good to have these days, especially when it comes to this despicable excuse of an administration. Imagine your worst fears about what a government could do and multiply that by a factor of 10. That's what we have now.
There's no doubt in my mind that the SCOAMF wants a race war so he can implement his shiny new EO that allows him to take over the entire country. And I have a sinking feeling he will be coordinating it, using any minor skirmish, whether it be started by race or the OWS'ers, to do it.
I think maybe someone in the White House figured out that a race war would not be a wise thing to try. Maybe somebody up there did the math and reviewed the soaring gun sales nationwide. It would not end well at all.

Back on the 24th I compared MD to IL because MD was going for a huge tax increase on the "wealthy" (meaning anyone > 75K). MD has been bleeding businesses and white residents for a long time to VA due to higher taxes. Their population has remained stable due to huge influxes of blacks and Hispanics.
I compared them to IL because this is exactly what has happened in IL. The tax payers are leaving at the same time the moochers are flooding in.

>>But this very same town doesn't 'get it' and was one of the very few locally that still continued to raise taxes by over 5.5% last year.
Well, we did better (not that I even knew there was an election):
>>Bossier Parish voters said no this weekend to two bond measures which would have raised property taxes about $120 for the average homeowner...to pay for a 5 percent increase in teacher salaries and another $3 million for new technology in local schools.
Jackie Lansdale, president of Red River United, said the decision was disappointing, but thanked the school board for bringing it to a vote. "I thought it was a bold proposal in behalf of the teachers and school employees by the Bossier Parish School Board and their administration. We knew it would be tough," she said.
Both measures failed to pass by a 50 percent margin. A third item, which didn't raise taxes, would appropriate about $210 to build new schools in Bossier Parish. That measure passed by 51 percent.

1- Apparently some Texas Couple sued a bunch of commenters on some websites for libel and won at $14M award. They were accused, but then either acquitted or the charges dropped of... something (can't remember what).
2- The ACLU is suing some school board for expelling a couple of girls who posted "joking" death threats on their Facebook pages.
Now, on the first: how do you rise to the "malicious" standard of Libel in a website's comments section? Does anyone know about some of the specific things being said? 'Cause, last I checked, calling someone a "rat fink" (or even other, more insulting terms) was not libel.
On the second- what those girls did was probably illegal; I don't agree with the ACLU that what they did was harmless and "obviously just joking because... emoticons." However, unless they posted these during school hours, using school equipment or resources, or posted them while on some school function outside of normal school hours: why does the School have any jurisdiction, here?

I can't even get up to "what they said was probably illegal." They were (from what I can find) having the kind of conversation that pops up here from time to time, definitely tongue-in-cheek. Moreover, it wasn't (from what I can find) on school time, property, or using school resources in any way. The School should have no authority to expel them for what they do outside of those hours.
It's not like it's a private school (where they could make the case that you must agree to certain behaviors outside of school, too, since it's a private contract); it's the public school system.

New Gallup poll:
PRINCETON, NJ -- Americans' financial comfort is the lowest Gallup has measured to date, with 60% saying they currently have enough money to live comfortably and 39% saying they do not. Americans' peace of mind with their finances was fairly stable at a high level from the first asking of the question in 2002 through 2007, but has since faltered.
Additionally, there may be a political component to how people feel about their finances. Long-term, Republicans, who tend to have higher incomes, have been the most confident about what they make, and Democrats, who tend to have lower incomes, the least. However, the gap between Republican and Democratic comfort has narrowed since President Barack Obama took office in 2009. And, in just the past year, the percentage of Republicans saying they have enough to live comfortably fell to 64%, down from 75% in April 2011. That 11-point decline contrasts with a four-point decline among independents and a one-point decline among Democrats.
Overall, the most common response is lack of money or income, followed by healthcare costs, the costs of owning/renting a home, the high cost of living, and energy costs.
Faltered since 2008. It's all Bush's fault!!!!

It's turning out that only about 3 or 4 members of the mob of 20 were actual beaters, so the bulk are not legally culpable, though still morally despicable and the Mayor reamed them about that on TV
Hmm, that's strange. I coulda swore there was something illegal about a large group of people gathering to disturb the peace, especially while they're beating someone nearly to death on their own property.
I guess I was wrong.

Obviously the timing of releasing this report now is to scare off other large donors at a time when we've been reading the GOP is spinning up fundraising efforts.
This would be a good time for the Mitt campaign to point out that teh SCOAMF has the credit card verification turned off at his web site, thus violating federal law and allowing foreign donations.
Again.

But really, Erickson is all butthurt 'cause he and his buddies in the "evangelical" movement want Romney to kiss their ass more. Yeah, the group that cheered when Fuckabee did his floating cross and "don't Mormons believe some crazy shit?" thing last time, and made sure Fuckabee stayed in only to keep Romney from beating McCain, then pushed Santorum with the specific plan of trying to force Romney to name him his VP this time are shocked when the guy they've been doing their best to smear every which possible way for the past 6 years kinda has a cold shoulder for them.

Ordinarily we don't either but they had o float a bond issue for this one and that does require a vote. The school board used to be able to float a property tsax increase but they can't now that the State has taken over financing the schools with sales tax.
BTW, that was the result of an NAACP civil suit in one of the majority black school districts which they lost but the State said they would act anyway. That was one time they didn't get away with the disparity of impact bullshit. Lower property values meant lower taxes for the schools.

Rigamortis is WARM! A bit surprised they didn't go out 8 hours, but guess they are just being safe. Evidence of why the 6 hour period makes perfect sense.
Stiffness of a cadaver. The following are crude approximations of the time of death, based on temperature and presence/absence of rigor
warm and flaccid < 3 hours
warm and stiff 3-8 hours
cold and stiff 8-36 hours
cold and flaccid > 36 hours

If you are middle class or upper middle class it's easy to rack up that kind of debt if you go to a good university. I know people who add med school, law school or graduate school, most often an MBA onto that and graduate under a mountain of debt. At the time they went to school, the economy was chugging along.
