— Gabriel Malor Happy Thursday.
Actor Don Cheadle slammed NBC yesterday on Twitter for its deceptive Zimmerman coverage. Twitchy has the story.
If you haven't watched the RNC's video that Lauraw posted yesterday, go watch it now. Lauraw had some notable things to say about. For my part, I was struck by just how poor Obama's delivery of this speech was both times he gave it. Stop. Stutter. Restart. Stacking the speeches up like that should put to rest the liberal fantasy that Obama is a great orator. (Yes, I know it likely won't.)
Google has gone public with its augmented reality glasses. The project is not-so-cleverly named "Project Glass."

When they go to court they do not have a leg to stand on and will lose. Of course in some cases they have screwed up the damn primaries and may even delay some of the elections.
Perhaps the Republicans should sue them for blocking elections with frivolous cases.

What I find interesting about the whole speculator thing is that it is not a given that speculating on higher (or lower) prices is a sure thing with no risk. It is a "bet" (more properly a carefully reasoned estimate of a future market that can be impacted by many many imponderables (war, weather, earthquakes, etc.).
Of course with Barky, Bernanke, and Chu working "for" us, it IS a sure bet that oil prices will go up for a long time!

Only Republicans would do this:
Withstanding criticism, Pa. lawmakers vote to reduce the size of the legislature
A bill to reduce the size of the Pennsylvania legislature withstood a battery of criticism to easily clear the state House on Wednesday, the first such vote by lawmakers to trim their own ranks in 45 years.
The bill, which passed 140-49, would reduce the House from 203 seats to 153 and the Senate from 50 senators to 38 - thus relieving the state of the dubious distinction of having America's second-biggest state legislature.
...
House Majority Leader Mike Turzai (R., Allegheny) praised the bill as an example of the Republican-led effort to "rightsize" government. "We stand for smaller government," Turzai said, "including a smaller legislature."

BTW -- the article says: "Dissenters in both parties, rural and urban, spent two hours on the floor Wednesday arguing against the bill." but only quotes two Democrat opponents.

GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (Reuters) - Half a decade into the deepest U.S. housing crisis since the 1930s, many Americans are hoping the crisis is finally nearing its end. House sales are picking up across most of the country, the plunge in prices is slowing and attempts by lenders to claim back properties from struggling borrowers dropped by more than a third in 2011, hitting a four-year low.
But a painful part two of the slump looks set to unfold: Many more U.S. homeowners face the prospect of losing their homes this year as banks pick up the pace of foreclosures.
"We are right back where we were two years ago. I would put money on 2012 being a bigger year for foreclosures than 2010," said Mark Seifert, executive director of Empowering & Strengthening Ohio's People (ESOP), a counseling group with 10 offices in Ohio.
Reuters starts out with all of the pie in the sky propaganda that everything is improving but in the 3rd paragraph well lookie here. Things have gotten worse

Yes. Until recently, the joke was that Mac wasn't even supported by the hackers. Now that they have growing market share, they'll be getting just as many viruses as Windows does- and windows has several companies (besides themselves) working simultaneously to block and clean viruses. Mac has no such system in place yet, to my knowledge.
So it'll be a rocky year or so for mac users (as a conservative guess), but then they'll get used to it like those of us in the World of Windows have- you learn how to avoid them all together pretty quickly, actually.
In VA you could get the precinct subtotals by report, essentially hourly.

White House officials held talks with representatives of the Muslim Brotherhood in Washington this week, as the Islamist group threw itself into the fray in Egypt's presidential election.
The meeting on Tuesday with low-level National Security Council staff was part of a series of US efforts to broaden engagement with new and emerging political parties following Egypt's revolution last year, a US official said.
"We believe that it is in the interest of the United States to engage with all parties that are committed to democratic principles, especially nonviolence," said National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor.

I totally agree but from a slightly different perspective. Where I live the career ladder goes like this: assistant DA --> DA --> Judge (usually for life). The DA only makes his bones to become a judge after securing a death sentence. I think that incentive has corrupted our system.

The Muslim Brotherhood is committed to democratic principals and nonviolence. Do they even believe the horseshit they spew?

A "path to legal status" is a path to citizenship- unless citizenship is specifically forbidden when you take this "path to legal status." And then good luck getting it passed- Conservatives will still hate it (or at least not be happy with it) because we happen to believe the laws as they exist are a little to lenient, and Liberals will still hate it because it "prevents them from ever achieving the American Dream" or some such clap-trap.

Saw the RNC video. It was enlightening, but I'm not a huge fan of taking clips and splicing like that. Too much opportunity for mischief (see: Zimmerman audio about Trayvon's race). Not exactly news that pols spout the same lines over and over again.
I do think it's valid to take clips where they lie and later contradict themselves, or where they inadvertantly reveal what they really think.
Anyway, I agree that there is a widespread myth about Obama being a great orator. Libs eat this stuff up. But it seems there is always a theme in the media that whoever the lib candidate is, he or she is a great intellectual and an articulate speaker; and that the R candidate is a stumbling moron who barely made it through school. I mean Al Gore was a horrible, obnoxious speaker and far from the brightest bulb, but he was portrayed as a knowledgable, accomplished guy who was ahead of the curve on AGW.

Wasserman Schultz, who also chairs the Democratic National Committee, took issue with this claim, calling it “nonsense” and pledging that the issue of religion would be off-limits in the 2012 presidential campaign. She also characterized Hatch’s claims that the Democrats will exploit Mormonism for political gain “just preposterous.”"

The post is there because the comment was made by Orin Hatch. since folks like you seem to think that saying it can't be discussed on here as it is "Mormon hate" will simply make it all go away, maybe orin decided to speak out about it after the person at the town hall began reading from the Book of Mormon to Romney. Anchorage gun shops are being visited by BATFE agents that are requesting the shops 4473 forms as far back as 2007.
They claim they want to make copies of the “book”. This is defacto registration, against the law, and BATFE knows it.
Please inform everyone you know about this and notify any gun dealers you know that they donÂ’t have to comply. Contact your congressman and senators and demand a full investigation.

On the Rubio "dream act"; anytime you here a politician offer citizenship for military service you know he is lying. They already have a program for that. It sounds like his program is very much like the Democrats program. So yes, he has gone off the reservation. I don't see him as a conservative anymore since he is now adopting Democrat pandering to illegals. And no, the TX "dream act" didn't do any of that shit.
And finally on the shitty judges and cops in MA and CT, I don't see that as a problem with the death penalty. I see that as a problem with the politicians and the people who continue to vote the corrupt Democrat SOBs into office.

"Mitt's circle" accused Perry of being a bigot? Since when is Herman Cain part of Mitt's circle? Next you'll accuse "Mitt's circle" of bringing up Gardasil. Or having a fit over the "heartless" remark. People like Michelle Malkin made the biggest deal of both Gardisil and "heartless": was Malkin a Mittbot?
And "Mitt's circle" "smeared" Santorum for expressing Catholic doctrine? When and where? There was strong criticism of some of Santorum's over-the-top statements (over and beyond his Catholicism), and IIRC the strongest of those articles came as much from Newt supporters (e.g. Dorothy Rabinowitz) as any Romney supporters.
The "smearing"-- if you're talking about something other than merely quoting Santorum's own words, e.g. calling him a "theocrat"-- came from the liberal MSM.
Sorry to quibble, but IMO this meme of Romney "smearing" all the other candidates (and absolving all the other candidates-- Bachmann, Cain, Perry, Newt, and Santorum-- of any "smearing") isn't very accurate.

You've no right to speak for Catholics. Catholics aren't like you. They aren't paid by Romney to go onto conservative websites and bash Santorum. I've noticed you doing this quite a lot.
Oh and if there were a picture of Santorum leaving mass you would snidely criticize it as a "photo op" and loudly doubt his Catholicism.
Most Catholics are a pretty easy going group, we are pretty accepting and loving and turn the other cheaky....we aren't as grouchy and judgmental as you romneybots.
