— CAC So overnight, more polling came out in favor of Governor Walker: a seventh straight poll showing him ahead.
Well, there's more potential bad news for Tom Barrett to kick things off for Thursday. Looks like an awful lot of people are are now interested in what is really happening in his city, crime wise. Oopsie!
Elizabeth "Fauxcahontas" Warren's recent bout of silliness hasn't cost her in the polls, at least according to Suffolk University, which finds her trailing incumbent Scott Brown by just 47%-48%.
Finally, NBC finds President Obama leading in three swing states (shocker) but by far, far smaller margins than their last round of polls with Marist: Ohio (48-42), Florida (48-44, contradicting Quinnipiac), and Virginia (48-44).

It was the State Departments and Immigrations responsibility to know she was lying. This will be an interesting case to watch. The big question in my mind is "will Holder's DOJ actually defend the case"? Why do I ask that? Look at the picture in the article. The DOJ is known for either dismissing criminal cases or not defending civil cses in these instances.

Incredible, Vomiting Puke lets forth even more outrageous lies. They just keep getting bigger and bigger and he and the MFM see nothing wrong.
At a fundraiser for his re-election campaign in Denver tonight, President Obama set out to upend conventional Republican wisdom that his administration has been defined by excessive government spending.
Then it gets worse
"I just point out it always goes up least under Democratic presidents. This other side, I don't know how they've been bamboozling folks into thinking that they are the responsible, fiscally-disciplined party. They run up these wild debts and then when we take over, we've got to clean it up.

Note: Unlike Obama, no taxpayer funds are being spent on this trip. Walker's political committee is paying for the trip.

The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), created in 1970 and based in Madrid, identifies itself as the "United Nations agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism." It announced last year that Zambia and Zimbabwe jointly "won the bid" to host the 20th session of the UNWTO General Assembly in 2013. Zimbabwe's president, Robert Mugabe, has been appointed a "United Nations international tourism ambassador" in recognition of the promotion and development of tourism.

I read an article a few weeks ago about Obama trying to take credit for the work that Kasich has done there. The same is happening in Florida with Rick Scott.
They are trying to pit Republican governors against Romney by saying that the claims the governors make about an improved economy/lower unemployment disprove Romney's claims against Obama.

The most egregious "mis-coding" incident of 2011 would be the racially-motivated mob assaults in Riverwest on July 3 (precursor to State Fair mob assualts), where they coded 20 victims, assaulted by more than a dozen perps, as one crime. Because that's what they do. The police here have gotten away with far worse than this. Between this board and the police union, it is almost impossible for a Denver cop to receive more than a slap on the wrist let alone be fired. Honestly, since moving to an inner city neighborhood, I've felt my life is more threatened by cops than robbers.
I blame the former Democrat governor, Bill Ritter, who as Denver DA could never find enough evidence to prosecute the police for outrageous, even murderous, conduct.

There is no doubt in my mind that the FBI reporting was being gamed in order to reduce the Violent Crime Index. To have hundreds of reports miscategorized from violent felonies to non-violent misdemeanors requires a willful disregard for the elements of the crime -- these elements are clearly defined by state statute.
The city where I was did something a little similar. I did a lot of statistical analysis before I retired and I brought to the administration's attention that our Violent Crime Index was over 3 times the state average. Since the actual reporting of data to the FBI is voluntary, the city dealt with the problem by not reporting to the FBI the following year. Problem Solved: No data, No Violent Crime Index.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - New claims for unemployment benefits fell slightly last week, government data on Thursday showed, suggesting the labor market continues to expand at a moderate pace.
Initial claims for state unemployment benefits slipped 2,000 to a seasonally adjusted 370,000, the Labor Department said. The prior week's figure was revised up to 372,000 from the previously reported 370,000.
Claims have barely budged in the past four weeks indicating a marginal improvement in the pace of job creation after April's disappointing 115,000 gain in nonfarm payrolls.
Nothing has changed but it's marginal improvement comrades

I think it reflects the need for those folks in what is effectively corporate headquarters for the nation. Look at any business. You don't find high school dropouts in the boardroom.
I'm not saying there isn't waste and there aren't slackers, but in the higher reaches, you are either a high performer, a protected class, or a politically connected type. I know too many people in stroke jobs who could triple their salaries outside the government.
There are too many here who constantly rail against high-paid government employees, without acknowledging that while the less skilled employees are overpaid, the high-skill ones are underpaid. Look it up. The recent study conducted by, IIRC Heritage, noted this phenomenon.

I hate this discussion because the ignorance is palpable. People who don't know the difference between a GS-9 clerk typist and an SES rant about being on the government teat. The upper echelon make far far less than the going rate during boom times but trade that in for a little security for the bust times. You also top out in your 40s, if you do excel, and can never effectively get a raise.
I also don't think Virginia is going to go Obama again, hell, I don't even think it's going to elect Kaine. The enthusiasm isn't there, the black turnout will not be as high, many people who were on the fence and went ahead with Obama last time won't this time, and McDonnell has done a fantastic job. However, the municipalities are corrupt as hell in the vote counting and I hope Cuchinelli has a finger on this.

Even worse, they refuse to learn. Last office I worked in had a GS-11 who started in the Johnson Administration. She wouldn't "do" computers because is wasn't in her job description. And over decades, too many sackless supervisors let her get away with it. No one ever updated her performance standards. So she skated - for 20 years/ It took 3 years to push her out the door, kicking and screaming all the way. You know you're getting close to the end when a target like that exhausts all her options and she files the EEO complaint.

I was stationed there from '86 to '88 and loved it then, love it now. But the place has changed quite a bit. The open-country road connecting Manhattan to Ft. Riley back then is getting turned into a 4 lane highway, with housing developments along the way, and behind the downtown shopping mall a whole new shopping district of big name chain stores and restaurants has sprung up. The only disappointment is Aggieville - they still bill it as "the nation's oldest shopping district," but it's more like collections of bars now than the little fashion boutiques it consisted of back in the 80's.

Didn't obama recently triple the pay of government employees? I remember a speech or press release.
And, in the private sector I don't know anyone who has had a raise since this mess started. Some on WS have gotten their bonuses but initially they took huge pay cuts to ostensibly keep their jobs so the bonus brings them close to their original salary, before this mess happened. A lot of people's annual reviews go like this: "sorry, (insert name) you are a good worker but there is no raise this year, we just can't do it, but hey, at least you have a job"....
Also, I know a lot of people's sibs, who recently graduated who are working as unpaid interns. Fumy, when people hear about the unpaid part they usually say "aren't you supposed to be paid, didn't president obama say no more unpaid interns?"...

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Driving onto an Interstate highway? Crossing a bridge on the way into work? Taking a tunnel under a river or bay? Get ready to pay.
With Congress unwilling to contemplate an
increase in the federal gas tax, motorists are likely to be paying ever
more tolls as the government searches for ways to repair and expand the
nation's congested highways.
In addition to the tolls allowed on Interstates in 15 states, mostly in the Northeast and Midwest, the U.S. has agreed to pilot toll projects on Interstate 95 in Virginia and North Carolina and on Interstate 70 in Missouri.

FYI- Doggie Lovers.
There is another out-break of dead & sick dogs because of pet treats made in China. I bought my Grand-Puppy these Waggin -Tails chicken jerky treats, but saw in a report that they were on of 4 that are being looked at. They looked like all natural chicken but we failed to read where it was made. returning it today. thank God I didnd give any to my pup.

Listening to WLW (am 700). I'm SO glad they're talking about this, esp coming up on Memorial Day....
They're showcases our poor military men that are getting completely fucked over by the family courts. One guy was a Marine reservist serving time overseas while the baby's mother filed a TRO saying he couldn't phone her (never mind the fact that the only reason he was trying to contact her in the first place was to talk to his child). He of course has to pay child support to the court but the mother has now taken off and he has no friggin clue where his daughter is. Even more grotesque some scumbag judge signed this to say he couldn't go within 100 yards of ANY day care center/provider. This guy hasn't been convicted of jack shit. He's serving our country and he gets slapped this nonsense TRO. He doesn't have much money to fight this -- I know the listenership of this radio station - thankfully I have faith he'll have an attorney representing him in no time.
Sadly these cases go on every day. It's bad enough men/dads get completed hosed in family court. It's even worse when we strip away parental rights of men that are fighting for their country overseas w/no due process of law. It's sickening.
I want to punch these whore women in the face and I want to do worse to the judges who sign off on these orders.

increase in the federal gas tax, motorists are likely to be paying ever more tolls as the government searches for ways to repair and expand the nation's congested highways.
Every time I see shit like that I want to scream. If they made sure they only spent gas tax money on roads and bridges they would have plenty. But thanks to the commies during the Carter regime 20% automatically goes to urban mass transit as a fungible give to corrupt city administrations and the annual highway bill is larded up with stupid pork that wastes the money.
Why doesn't AP report that? I know, stupid redundant question.

One other bit of advice, always check job postings for multiple hiring authorities. Sometimes the hiring agency will advertise the post twice under different authorities ("inside" and "outside"). Since you get VEOA, as pointed out above, you can apply under the "inside" authority and then everyone who is a citizen gets to apply under the "outside" authority. Always do both.
Also, check your gmail.

Heh, my wife avoided the GS system in favor of the "experimental" band system.
It's working out OK. All of my friends on private industry bank about 10k-ish more than than her, but she likes what she does, and there aren't too many other places doing it. ["It" is intentionally vague.]
But yeah, even they need a good round of firings. In fact whenever we go out to dinner with her work friends every conversation basically ends with may saying "you know what would solve your problems? A good purging." or "FIRE THEM."
They actually had a guy bring blankets and slippers curl up and take a nap, still not fired. Listen, I've worked long shifts, hard hours before, in boring jobs. I know every so often you might doze off at your desk, it happens. But I've never brought blankets or slippers, even when I've had to stay half the night to babysit an expiriment. I'm in academics (only a step down from Gov't) and that still would have netted a Trump worthy "You're fired!"
It's so bad my wife refers to the process of "dumping" where they can't fire you but instead they convince you to apply to a job in a different department. Then eveyone gives you glowing reccomendations to get rid of you. (You don't need to be an organizational psychologist to see why this has pretty much poisoned the entire organizations trust factor.)

I haven't seen that one, but I have seen some guy bragging about his Endorsements from the Dallas Morning News and Fort Worth Star Telegram. The DMN is worse than the "starle-gram," but they both tend to endorse Democrats in the general- which means they tend to endorse the more squishy Republican in the primary.

Sad thing is... he wasn't. Some blogger (whose name I've heard, but I've never read his stuff) was doing reporting which brushed up against Kimberlin, and he followed that road.
Kimberlin sued that guy for having the nerve to mention the fact he's a convicted perjurer and terrorist, and that guy (someone is going to have to help me with his name) contacted Aaron Worthing for some free (but very limited) legal advice.

I saw that. Mandarin would make a lot more sense. The Arabs all do business with the west in English or French.
Although knowing some Arabic, when they think you don't know it, could come in pretty handy. I've tossed a few Mandarin phrases out at a critical moment and suddenly the whole conversation switches over to english and you're not the rube roundeye anymore.

@Wyatt Earp:
Mitt is targeting a constituency that is being overlooked by the dems and may be ripe for GOP plucking. I nner city parents are desperate to place their children in better schools, the voucher plan always roundly defeated every time it is attempted. Romney is there to address their concerns and also voice his support for vouchers. Will it gain him votes in W. Philly? Not enough to swing Philadelphia certainly. However his appearance there directly contradicts the meme that he doesn't connect to the common man. I think he's smart to show up there. Philly public schools are more of a netherworld rather than a third world situation, God help those kids.

Sometimes that ain't enough. Economic depressions grind people up, and spit them out, and change their life arc in ways they never expected.
But, as they say - pain is weakness leaving your body. Adversity forces you to adapt and accomplish what need to get done in ways that might never have occurred to you in more prosperous times. Thrift isn't just a word in the dictionary anymore, it becomes a way of life, if treated as challenge/game of sorts, it can actually be entertaining.
Recognizing the difference between needs and wants can save a huge amount of money.

Iranian dissidents have long suspected that the country's Islamist regime has used the cover of its not-so-covert war with Israel to crack down on internal opponents, and that a leading Iranian nuclear scientist whose death was blamed on Mossad might really have been killed by his own government.
Now a prominent opposition blogger based in London says that discrepancies in the recent trial and execution of the "Israeli spy" officially charged with killing scientist Masoud Ali Mohammadi are yet more evidence that Iranian intelligence agents may have been the real assassins.

I've heard some things that aren't being put forth clearly and publicly yet, so I don't want to talk out of turn. I don't like sounding like "I know more I can't tell you", but it's such an unpleasant situation that being careful seems like a good idea.

The sickening hypocrisy is so stark that it may...just may...reach some of the numbnuts in their audience who aren't particularly rabid progressives, just ill informed wimmins.

He would be a *really* bad VP choice. Can we say that enough?

I'm going to spend Memorial Day weekend looking out my beautiful new windows, appreciating that they don't have crud in between the panes of glass.
And talking to the kids about the meaning of the day, of course.

That is def something on my bucket list. Preferably more than 30 mph but I'm not greedy -- I'll get what I can take.

I took French in high school. There's a lot of commonality among the romance languages and latin root words they use. That long forgotten HS French has allowed me to sort of understand some Spanish, Italian, and slangy Hatian creole.

Since then I have been a couple of times but the heat and noise are not something I like, plus I am not fond of crowds, so I listen on the radio like we did when I was a kid.
Most homesick I got as an Air Force wife in West Berlin was listening to the Indy 500 on Armed Forces radio.

Despite his comments that he thinks the matter should be left to the states, many gay rights advocates strongly believe that it must be dealt with nationally — and that Obama is quietly on their side. Conservative critics of the president suspect the same, citing this as one way the president might tack left if reelected.
And some Obama supporters who are uncomfortable with same-sex marriage fear that in a second term, he would come under enormous pressure to back efforts to impose the legalization of such unions at the federal level.

Probably trying to patch a leak in my roof. I thought I'd gotten it last week, but after a good downpour yesterday that seems not to be the case. I hate ladders and roof work almost as much as I hate Obama.

The Party of America's First Black President is the arbiter of Political Correctness in our country. What a joke.

Haitians around my area generally speak Creole as an everyday matter, but the schools in Haiti also teach classical textbook French and English. The differences between Hiatian Creole and French aren't all that huge. Creole has more slangy composite words that the French would never allow in their precious pure language.

This country came under the grips of a vast mysterious unexplained morality inversion field about 40 years ago. Some think it came from outer space, others blame Soviet shenanigans, and others still blame a marine life conspiracy to wipe out all land based life so they can make a fresh evolutionary start.
Whatever the cause, there's no doubt that it exists.
