— Gabriel Malor Happy Monday. First, some things to put on your calendar:
Today, the Supreme Court is expected to issue one or more opinions in cases heard this term. It's a little early for either the Obamacare decision or the U.S. v. Arizona decision, but anything's possible.
Tomorrow, Wisconsin voters will vote in tomorrow's rather important recall election.
In the news . . .
DOOOOOOM. Japan stocks are at a 28-year low.
Obama is running through his campaign playbook at record speed. Apparently, having decided that the Bain attack flopped (or worse, actually hurt the President), the campaign is now focusing on Romney's record as governor of Massachusetts. From an ad the President's team plans to run in nine states:
The ad includes a clip from 2002 of then-gubernatorial candidate Romney saying, "I speak the language of business. I know how jobs are created."The narrator in the ad then says that as governor, Romney had "one of the worst economic records in the country."
Dear Obama Team, please engage us on the economy. Make this easy.

Mark Steyn has been screaming about the demographic disaster [and its necessary economic consequences] in Japan for about as long as I can remember.
In this day and age, any "investor" who isn't obsessed with demographics is a fool about to be parted from his money.

I am beginning to think that any of us peons with a little bit of money (IRA, 401k, small business, savings) are fools for think we will be able to use it to maintain a decent future for our families. Demographics, illegal immigration, universal entitlement, government corruption and theft, and laws written for the few all are combining to create the perfect storm both here and abroad.
On the bright side, the Japanese are well ahead of everyone else in perfecting robotic "partners" IYKWIMAITYD, so they've got a considerable market edge.

"We're sending this mailing to you and your neighbors to publicize who does and does not vote."
Incredibly creepy mail today from the Greater Wisconsin Political Fund:
I obscured names and addresses, but be assured, this was a list of real names and addresses of people who live near me, with the information about whether they voted in the last 2 elections. This is an effort to shame and pressure people about voting, and it is truly despicable. Your vote is private, you have a right not to vote, and anyone who tries to shame and an harass you about it is violating your privacy, and the assumption that I will become active in shaming and pressuring my neighbors is repugnant.

Obama was the anti-Walesa. [From Obama's book, regarding Reagan's 1980 election] "Reagan was on his way in," Obama sniffed, "morning in America." Obama perceived an America that needed a "change in the mood of the country." Ronald Reagan's "morning in America" needed change. To what, one might ask? Well, we're finally getting that answer, thanks to the millions of [the same] oblivious Americans who blithely voted for Obama's "change" in November 1980. But, hey, these are Americans. And they do not vote rationally. Obama's Walesa moment is yet another defining moment. So is the election of November 2012. -- Paul Kengor, The American Spectator, 6-4-12
--
Obama resents "happiness". Obama eschews virtue. It isn't that he's pro-union carte blanche. He's pro-corruption, pro-authoritarian. In a word, Obama is Misery. He opposed and opposes the liberating aims of Poland's Solidarity. Under Obama-minions, there is no hope for the purging of corrupt LEADERSHIP from American/international unions. Unions have no better chance under Obama to realign with economic realities to benefit workers with EMPLOYMENT and US Constitutional integrity than any official bureaucracy or branch of the US Government has the chance to conform to rule of law. It remains the obligation of every entity to cleanse itself.
The Obama Obligation?
Misery Loves Co.
Why invest in fraud that's not only worthless but costs ALL?
/Remember the irony of this century's propaganda. Compare "The Great War to End All Wars" as war against war with "The War on Terror". -- Screwtape.

You have to be in office one year before official recall efforts can commence, namely petition drives. However the groundwork can be laid. Most folks don't realize that the Scott Walker recall effort actually started the day after he was elected - NOT when the governor began work on reforming the collective bargaining agreements. The domain name "recallscottwalker" was taken November 2, 2010 - same day as he was elected.

Although the government in such programs typically guarantees loans made to a company by a commercial bank, this was not the case for Solyndra. It borrowed the money from the Federal Financing Bank, part of the Treasury Department, so in effect, the government was lending the money to the company directly. The Energy Department gave Solyndra a conditional guarantee for $535 million, in multiple stages, contingent on reaching a variety of milestones, and it received $528 million before going under.

I saw about a minute of lying sacks of shit on the CBS morning show on Sunday before my mother turned the channel because she thought I was going to wake up other hotel guests with my shouting.
Sat by a retired Illinois public school teacher at the wedding breakfast Sunday. If she gave them four years' notice of her intent to retire, she got an automatic salary increase of 6% per year (26% raise, if my exponents are right) over those four years, to boost what her pension is based on.
Money quote: "Any teacher who stays after their pension is vested is just working for free."

Good morning, 'rons and 'ronettes. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Today in 1927 was the premiere of the Lon Chaney / Joan Crawford film "The Unknown," with Chaney playing Alonzo the Armless, a circus freak who uses his feet to toss knives and shoot a rifle. However, he really does have arms, but because of a duble thumb on his right hand - a quirk that can tie him to a number of crimes - he binds his arms close to his sides.
He is in love with Crawford (her birthday was Saturday), who has a phobia about being touched. To win her love, Chaney has his arms cut off, only to find the Crawford has fallen in love with the circus strongman, who has helped her to banish her phobia. Chaney tries to kill the two in his fury, but ends up getting stomped to death by a horse.
It was directed by Tod Browning, the legendary director of "Freaks."
Thanks for the morning news roundup, Gabe and Vic.

Here's a fun flashback from the Liar in Chief as election day looms in WI:
When candidate Obama was campaigning in South Carolina in 2007, he said he was proud to wear the “union label” and that if workers were denied rights to organize or collectively bargain when he was elected, “I'll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself, I'll will walk on that picket line with you as president of the United States of America.”
Funny, those picket lines must be on a golf course somewhere.

I don't think the Obama crew is going to be like the Nazis were with meticulous record keeping that you can subsequently use to hang them.
An incoming Romney transition team will likely find that all manner of "computer glitches" have erased records, memos, etc, and that long term archival storage sites will have had an unfortunate run of leaky roofs causing extensive water damage to contents and records filing systems.
In fact, I think someone like Axlerod has already ordered IT sanitatization teams to begin the scrubbing. I'd not be surprised to find out that the Oval office recording system is missing weeks/months of conversations, not just a few minutes, or was flat out turned off or became somehow "broken" and was never repaired.

HA! I was with my parents the whole weekend. They introduced me to a lot of people who knew me as an infant, including the pastor who baptized me. Wholesome fun.
On the way home, I stopped by the Three Floyds Brewpub in Munster, and my bartender was wearing a "Destroy the Christian Right" T-shirt (I'm kinda thinking that's an album name, or band slogan? The graphic looked like an album cover) and snickered at the status quo thinking they're so courageous and noble taking on the small powerless minority from the safety of their hipster hangouts. Lol. Beer and food were good, though.
And I stopped by Munster's Community Veterans Memorial and got some pics (on my Flickr but not labeled yet). I gotta write about that later.

156 In case you need a reminder of just how fucking stupid/delusional David Brooks is, here's what he said about SCOAMF the other day:
"But Brooks really felt Obama's pain: "So the president is obviously going to try. He is going to have. And to some extent, you have to feel sorry for him. This is in large degree not his fault."
We're going to be hearing quite a lot of that after Election Day. It kind of makes you wonder why Liberals hate conservative Presidents so much, if nothing is ever really a President's "fault."
I will shout Hosanahs from my bedroom window on Election Night if Barry indeed gets bounced, if for no other reason than the possibility we may just possibly have missed Barry's ugly jug-eared Ferengi-like mug on the $10 bill. MAYBE.

This plays right into: 1. Americans are forgiving 2. Americans always give you a second chance
particularly if they feel sorry for you.
An emotional vote? You'd hear: "even though I can only get a part time job and can barely live on my own, I felt sorry for the prez and feel he deserves a second term to finish what he started" or you'll hear: "even though I lost my job and can't get another one and am in danger of losing my house, I don't want a republican in there again, so I'm willing to give the prez a second chance and the opportunity to finish what he started" or "I know I can't live without my welfare check, social security check, food stamps, whatever check that I get from the government and paul ryan and the republicans are going to take it away from me, so I have to vote for prez obama to make sure my check keeps coming" or my favorite, "the prez is going to forgive student loan debt so I'm going to vote for him".
I've heard all kind of variations on those themes in the last week from people who are considered normal.

The public and historians 30 years from now won't treat Obama as kindly as they did Carter. Carter is merely loathed, Obama will be reviled, ridiculed, and treated with no deference at all because his narcissism will come into full undeniable public bloom once he's out of office and unshielded by fawning WH fluffers. Everything people thought Obama was will be found out to be a charade.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Wall Street looked set to tread water on Monday after a steep drop in the previous session that erased the Dow industrials' gain for the year, and analysts said there may be more declines now that indexes have fallen below key technical support levels.
Signs of economic weakness around the globe and Europe's intensifying debt crisis are unnerving investors, who have been piling out of riskier investments like commodities and equities for the perceived safety of higher-rated government bonds.
Oh yes, the market is reacting to Europe and the rest of the world. It has nothing to do with the economic golden age we are experiencing here

Possibly news, of a sort. The one thing I don't like about the radio station I listen to is that they clearly get all their news straight from the AP or Reuters wires. So when the Zimmerman story broke nationally, they were right in there with "white guy kills black 12 year old". Of course, the fact that Z's back in jail is news, but I noticed that their word choice was *a lot* more circumspect this time around. As in, "Zimmerman is charged with the *loss* of Trayvon Martin". Loss?
Now that the news services have screwed everything up with their initial hysteria, but don't want to admit that, it looks like they're in a rhetorical bind on how to describe what's happening. They also didn't mention passports at all, so it's possible that's been decided not to matter to the story. The reason given was somenthing like "Zimmerman and his wife were not fully honest about finances" Which is also less inflammatory than in the past.

My pinko brother didn't actually come out and say that, but he did take out extra student loans to pay off some credit card debt incurred during his six-month gay marriage (no one ever listens to old maids who say, "are you really sure you want to marry a guy you've known for six weeks?") because he believes that after ten years of working for the government (in the form of skrool teechr) any remaining balance will be forgiven.
And I'd not be surprised if Obama institutes that via executive order in the waning days of his reign.
