— Gabriel Malor Happy Thursday.
The RNC has added Wisconsin to a $4 million ad buy, which means we really are going to contest it.
Avik Roy over at NR tears apart the latest Bain attacks.
Speaking of stupid Democrat lines, the President apparently thinks that U.S. soldiers should use AK-47s, or something.
Longtime friend of the HQ, Elizabeth Scalia aka @theAnchoress has a must-read post on Big Gay Al and the Boy Scouts.
Meteorologists are predicting bad weather and the possibility of a derecho in the Northeast today. Suspicious, I'd say. I'd never even heard of a derecho before four weeks ago; now this is the second derecho warning this week alone.

"The President and Capitol Hill are taking these leaks very very seriously," McRaven said Wednesday night at the Aspen Security Forum. "We need to do the best we can to clamp down because sooner or later it is going to cost people their lives or it is going to cost us our national security."
That last statement tells you this forum was meaningless political kabuki. In my day military members would resign before lying their ass off to cover the political backside of a traitorous President.

100 Million Poor People In America And 39 Other Facts About Poverty That Will Blow Your Mind
Every single day more Americans fall into poverty. This should deeply alarm you no matter what political party you belong to and no matter what your personal economic philosophy is. Right now, approximately 100 million Americans are either “poor” or “near poor”.
So 100 million in a nation of 300 million. Absolute bull shit lie.

All you need to know if the "officer" is O-6 or above, they have been carefully weeded out by a selection process that includes "political" attrition to ensure that they are lapdogs for political correctness. The selection process is ever more rigorous as you progress beyond O-6.
The libs have been salting the mines of the judiciary, legislatures, legal practice, military, and academia for decades now, to ensure that the nomenklatura have the proper perspective and context with which to rule the proletariat.

This is why some key critical things with regard to police should be reformed:
1. Totally eliminate no knock raids
2. Hold officers and supervisors personally responsible for reckless errors and not the taxpayers.
After all, the supposed purpose of suing people for error torts is to make people think twice before doing something stupid. These civil suits against "the city" don't do that. The tax payers did not commit the error.

OK - too pissed off and hungover for a long Hollywood story. I should have worked on this last night, but. . .
I'll find the details, but as an adjunct to yesterday's story about Grace "Slut" Kelly, there's also a rumor that Mae West had an illegitimate son whom she kept in contact with while he was raised by other family members. He was told, however, that Mae was his aunt and not his mother. After turning 21 (again, I'm pulling the details from a drink-sodden brain, so bear with me) he decided to visit Aunt Mae. She was pleased to find what a handsome, strong boy he'd become; he was pleased to find his "aunt" a very sexy woman, and -
- well, you can fill in the rest. I'll dig around for the details at home.
Hope all you morons have a wonderful day.

The "best" example I have seen of this was a manual published jointly by the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Water Environment Federation (and no doubt funded by the US EPA) around 18 years ago. It used the phrase "maintenance hole" in place of the (SEXIST!!1!!!11) word "manhole".

The Robbins Report: Michelle Obama: “All This Just For a Flag”
The internet was buzzing this week with video of First Lady Michelle Obama apparently showing extreme disrespect to the American flag at a ceremony in honor of the victims of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. As police and firefighters fold the flag to the sound of marching bagpipers, a skeptical looking Mrs. Obama leans to her husband and appears to say, “all this just for a flag.” She then purses her lips and shakes her head slightly as Mr. Obama nods.

Totally eliminate no knock raids
Well sometimes you gotta get Bugsy and the you'll never take me alive gang. They've overdone it to the point they're already getting officers and innocents killed on a fairly regular basis. I think requiring "If it's worth sending officers in full SWAT thru the door, It's worth sending some in Tyvek into the sewers" would cut down on some of the overages, esp. wrong addresses.

Taking the "you'll never take me alive gang" is not a no-knock raid. if they went to the wrong house on one of those and yelled for them to come out and announced they needed to surrender to police, the innocent people would come out.

If we lived in a sane and reasonable society, people like that would be taken out to the back parking lot and get their asses vigorously kicked for about 20 minutes when they tried to pull that kind of crap. Norway had such laws in place which did nothing to prevent Anders Behring Breivik's mass murder of 77 Norwegian youth at summer camp.
Unrepentant Breivik "enjoys" his very own psychiatric ward in prison.
The best we can do is live by common sense. Adding more laws and regulations leave that many more not being enforced, or enforced capriciously. Rather than force surviving tax payers to provide such as Breivik an entire psychiatric ward for life, give such a convict his choice of immediate execution or life in an isolation cell. It's the ENFORCEMENT of punishment to mass murderers that does more to cause a criminal to reconsider the consequences he will suffer which does more to prevent willful abandon to mayhem than banning the purchase of "bad" guns keeps such a madman at bay. Awarding the criminally incurable with their own hospital ward is a fool's errand.

Only the full auto version of the AK is banned. Semi-auto clones are abundant. And all full auto versions of everything are banned unless you have a special license, so Obie is simply displaying his stupidity.
In any case, full auto is a grossly over-rated tool for a lone person. Your ammo is gone almost immediately, the spray is difficult to control. Burst or semi is ultimately more effective. You're probably better off if your enemy likes to go full auto.

What's funny about all this fretting over full auto weapons is that in real life they are almost NEVER used in crimes. My belief is that "machine guns" are only banned because if used for actual military engagements by competent teams they can be effective against the actual army. That is - having them in public hands would give the public the power to organize and have a chance to carry off a successful rebellion.
Uncle Sam doesn't give a shit if you shoot your neighbor once or 50 times. He doesn't much care about any crime that does not threaten his authority. He does care about keeping his thumb on you, the law-abiding citizen who is concerned about his own freedom.

Okay, this is twice in a week that I've just flatly agreed with Reactionary. The world is getting scarier.
On a completely different note- Anyone familiar with the Cobra Freedom(?) Series .380acp? My wife wants a purple hand gun, and that's the only one I can find, but I don't want to get it for her if it's junk.

Firefox gives you a choice to open a new window or a new tab.
Firefox is increasingly a memory hog and crashes regularly on my old computer, and a new one just isn't in the budget. Maybe I'll give Chrome a try, much as I loathe Google.

A new bit of red meat for the MFM even if it hasn't been confirmed.
Romney expressed ignorance about when a horse owned by his wife, Ann Romney, would be participating in the Olympic sport called dressage.
And they won't let the horses go, will they. It doesn't matter to the MFM what Barry says or does but this is all important to them

Frankly, I prefer Chrome to FF, but Chrome doesn't work with my client's internet security software- it just refuses to go to any website. Thus I'm stuck with the memory leak that goes by the name "Firefox."

Dressage? Will the chick-filacation of sports never end? Now we get fashion shows in the olympics?

Tributes have been paid to "truly beautiful" Doctor Who actress Mary Tamm, who died today at the age of 62.
The star was best known for playing the first incarnation of the Doctor's companion Romana, alongside Tom Baker, but recently starred in TV series Wire In The Blood, Paradise Heights and Jonathan Creek. Her last role was in EastEnders, playing Orlenda in 2009.

Yeah, I do that, too, but it gets irritating to do it three or four times a day.
Right now Firefox and pugin-container are using 256K and 90K memory respectively.

I don't think he even knows his base. A program for more schooling? You mean, like WORK? Who in the black "community" he's aiming for is going to be inspired by that? Now, a program to hand out free lottery tickets, that's more like it!

These days avid ( ass opposed to casual ) hunters are a small minority of gun owners. Most gun owners are shooters, and they like AR-15s and AKs.

If the come up with"need" then we should start telling them what kind of journalism they are limited to because of "need".
we will tell them they are limited to "news" shows of Conservative commentators only because they do not "need" network "news".
And newspapers are hear after banned unless you have a class III license to own one, but must pay a $1,000 transfer tax annually to have one.
