— Gabriel Malor Happy Thursday.
Feck. "Protestors" have stormed our embassy in Yemen and burned our flag. There are additional protests-cum-riots in Afghanistan, Iran, Egypt, and Tunisia. I'm sure the D.C. press will be along any minute to explain how this is Romney's fault.
I had more to say at the Rumble yesterday on Obama's Libya policy. A taste:
The truth of the matter is that Obama tried his hand at humanitarian intervention on the cheap. He didn't do it because he thought it was right and hard. He did it because he thought it was right and easy. And you don't get top credit for doing what is easy. Obama thought he could be seen as a humanitarian savior by arming revolutionaries, providing them air and tactical support, and then letting them do the killing part. Perhaps he was trying to live up to that Nobel Peace Prize. Whatever the case, the President had no idea what the Libyan fighters would do after the killing part and no infrastructure in place to channel the violence that he had enabled back into some form of civil society.
Obama wanted to run on foreign policy? Alright, champ, let's talk about foreign policy.

ItÂ’s unclear what punishment Sebelius will face, as Obama has to decide. But according to law firm Tully Rinckey PLLC, when federal employees violate the Hatch Act, the standard punishment is termination.
There is no indication that that is going to happen.

The Goddess of Fried Okra
In Jean Brashear's novel of life in the American South, ex-cocktail waitress and "convenience store professional" Eudora O'Brien lives low on cash and all alone, but as the novel progresses, her poignant journey comprises a tale filled with grief, hope, love, sword fights, and--of course--the crisp glory of fried okra.
And thatÂ’s it for today. Mostly Libya and Egypt.

Morning Gabe and Vic...
Gabe: It's Romney's fault because he criticized the administration's stance that they were willing to be subservient to Islam. Once the administration was forced to retract their apology related to fundamental American rights, the "protesters" saw through the "ruse" that the administration first put out and started "protesting" yet again. -- See if Romney hadn't criticized them, they wouldn't have needed to retract their noted willingness to be subservient and the protesters would have all gone home happy and none the wiser (until their next faux outrage - known as Friday in most locations).
--
It really is a sad day knowing that Americans were killed - intentionally - and our administration is trying to do their best to pretend that it was all just an accident or really the fault of the film maker / preacher. It will not surprise me one bit if the DoJ does attempt to file charges against the film maker or the preacher over the death of the four people who were murdered. (Remember there were 4 - not just the ambassador.)
--
On a semi-related note, and I know it's occured over my lifetime, but I still can't pinpoint when... When did we start negotiating with terrorists? When I was little, the standard line was "we don't negotiate" - and the perp had the general options to give themself up and come out alive - or take the chance they'll be carried out dead. Now, we go out of the way to appease the perps in hoping that they really did just accidently get caught up in something and it's not really their fault, but just a bad circumstance and if we are really nice they'll see the error of their ways and walk out and everyone will be happy - there's even TV shows that glorify this approach.
[I'll stop there before I say things I might not ought to at the moment - try to have a good day.]

Also, Salamander and Cricket halt Texas Highway completions North of Austin, TX, though the critters aren't endangered as the EPA claims.
I find the "cave cricket" in my yard. They live well prolifically in road/park drainage pipes. If they're endangered, it is by the birds who relish such crunchy bites in the light of day. And droughts would threaten the survival of wildlife, whether cave crickets or salamanders, rather than completed thoroughfares. The EPA would ban and tax the sun spots and flares for endangering earth life?

Lebanese newspaper reporting that the ambassador was raped before he was murdered.
And the classless piece of trash infesting the White House can't even be bothered to give him proper respect. It's "Chris" this and "Chris" that. Not "Ambassador." Not even "Mister." But hey, Peggy Joseph's getting her Obama stash, so what does she care? This racist country owes her, anyway.
Well, since - to add to the bad news - we have Hanoi Jane portraying Nancy Reagan, here's a story about her dad Henry:
When Fonda first came to Hollywood, he learned that movie scripts were different from stage scripts. On stage, a script has a character's name in capital letters with the dialogue underneath; in movies, the character's name and dialogue are on the left and camera moves on the right.
Fonda's first movie, in 1935, was an adaptation of his Broadway success, Father Takes a Wife. He looked over the script, then went to find director Victor Fleming. "I don't understand this script," he said.
"What's wrong with it?" Fleming asked.
"Nothing," Fonda answered. "I like it a lot. But I don't understand why you added this new girl."
Fleming was puzzled. "What new girl?"
"Dolly," said Fonda, pointing to a page where his character is in a hotel lobby talking to a woman named Molly. They had a few lines of dialogue before they were supposed to go into the dining room. As they go in, the script read, "DOLLY with them." And when they left, the script read, "DOLLY with them."
"Who's Dolly?" Fonda asked. She's always there, but she never says anything."
Fleming laughed, then explained what a dolly was; it's also known as a "tracking shot." The camera, mounted on a platform called a 'dolly,' is pushed on rails while it follows moving people.
And so Henry Fonda learned his first lesson as a movie star.
Try to have a good day, everyone.

The MSM is going to hammer Romney on this, so the only thing he can do is make it clear what he would do if he was president in a way most Americans would agree with.
First, he needs to say that it is the responsibility of the host country to protect and defend embassies and diplomats. He should say that if he were president, he would cut off all aid to any country that failed to do that.
Next, he should say that he would immediately seize enough funds from Libyan accounts to pay the families of the dead diplomats 50 million each, plus an additional 5 million for property damage.
Last, he should say that he would every other country that hosts an embassy that any attack on a U.S. embassy will be viewed as an attack on the U.S. and any harm to a U.S. diplomat will be viewed as if it was carried out on the president personally.
By taking a position like this, it wouldn't matter how the MSM spins it, most people would say "America, Fuck Yeah".

The proper solution, AtC. Assuming, that is, that we had actual Americans calling the moves.
I am convinced, as I have been since late 2008, that Osama Obama is rooting for the Muzzies and doesn't give a flying crap about the citizens of the country -- including those in government service -- he has sworn to defend.
It's a strange dichotomy: Choom Boy is off paaaah-taaaaay-ing in Vegas, playing to the usual adoring crowds, while others continue to die on his behalf. You might think those in the media would show at least a small amount of concern for the country while they polish his trailer hitch; after all, they hounded Dubya relentlessly each time an American was imperiled.
But no. They are addicted to fellating the Anointed One. Worse, there is a sizable percentage of the American public for whom none of this shit registers. I've seen them: they watch Brian Williams and think everything is juuuuuust fine because he, Todd, Mitchell and the rest of the Obama-Love Club say it is.

Now traditionally, lefties hate the military. And lefties should really go into high dungeon when the head of the JCS attempts to muzzle a citizen.
However, in this case, nothing but crickets from the left.
And as an aside, in my opinion, if this action was the Generals own idea, he needs to resign for failure to protect the Constitution of the United States, an oath in which to do so, he freely took with no reservations.
And if there was an order to do so from above the food chain, he should have left his stars on the table, did an about face, and left.

What a wonderful world it would be if you were right.
An accurate, realistic poll taken of the vast central mass of voters would probably give the "destruction" of the media and their little tin god Osama Obama a resounding "meh." They don't see the process; they see the result, which tells them that the treasonous fuckwad in the White House is acquitting himself well against that Rich Weirdo Mormon Guy.
If Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, Ellen DeGeneris or Dr Phil turned on Choom Boy, he'd be toast. Until then, he's golden.

So now the Yemeni Embassy is being stormed as well. Whatever happened to the "new respect around the world" we were going to garner by electing the Chicagoan naif? Of course it never developed. Obama laid the groundwork for our current Mideast reversals back at the start of his term. First by having SoS Clinton declare that Tibetan Human Rights would no longer factor in our relations with China, but mainly by Obama's reversal of 50 years of struggle and strategy by withdrawing support for ex-Soviet bloc states Poland and Czech. He simply has no understanding of history or our place in it. He has admittted as much in his books, but now we're actually seeing the failure and bloodshed that such ignorance brings with it.

82 Kelley, it's marketing. Truth has nothing to do with American's perception of Reality. Rather, swallow whatever you want to believe. Even while your lying eyes witness the fabrication of the ever changing "official" story. Americans have come to believe that we "deserve" whatever we want, which includes whatever it is that we want to believe. No?
Recall Obama's reporting how "it" went down that kept changing the SEALs invasion of the Pakistani compound. "It" kept changing, even still under Obama cohorts' pressure. As if Obama's malleable story wasn't revolting enough, that Americans at large swallowed his sumptuous meal of lies one version at a time, fixating on their favorite bite as "the truth" blew the lid off for me.
The amazing fact about propaganda is that the more audaciously outrageous the lie, the more readily people accept it as truth. (WWII findings by NAZI propaganda minister, and by the spy "Garbo" from Spain who fabricated his reports and fake intelligence network for payment from the British Intelligence.) So much for the rational, logical scientific record or modern mindset. Whatever is most convenient and comfortable sells well as people readily take what they want regardless or because of deceit, the "willing suspension of disbelief."
/Interesting to remember that Bush was so occupied with "hearts and minds".

2. The MSG is responsible for interior security, classified OPSEC, any intelligence security, etc.
3. They have very strict rules of engagement, as they are. As far as repelling intruders, they are last case, the walls are breached, final protective fire scenario.
4. This has been the case forever.

A real president would say, "In light of recent events, I have issued orders to the Marines guarding US embassies that any incursions onto embassy grounds are to be treated as invasions of United States soil. As such, they have been instructed to shoot to kill. Have a nice day."
Seriously, we know what countries this is going to happen in. If we are seriously worried about the Marines being overrun if they shoot, that's just an indicator that you don't have enough Marines. Helicopter more in. Bring more ammo while you're at it and maybe some claymores to put along the fence about 3 meters inside the perimeter.
The shit in Libya happened because they had no security and no fence. The facilities in Yemen clearly have fences and Marines. Use them.

It should not have been possible for those Yemeni savages to lay a foot on sacred US soil, let alone tear down the gates and deface the walls. The moment it looked like whatever "security" the Yemen government had set to guard the external grounds was failing, super-sonic hot lead should have started making its way through that crowd.
I'm getting so angry about this. This is beyond merely "dislikes America." This is beyond merely wanting America to be "one nation among many." This is making America submissive to howling savages who can't even run their own lives, but want to run ours.

Blame the benefits from French ideological perpetrators evolved from Rousseau's Social Contract for hosting the Darkness until Khomeini's Tehran return to decimate whatever remnants of Persian glory once graced the human mind through Zarathustra.
Between Zoroastrianism and Muhammadanism, Light v. Darkness, consider that the ancient Persians met the description of the Wise Men from the East who seeing the Star of prophecy, made the great journey to worship and bless the humble Jewish child born of Light in Bethlehem's stable. And the light in the darkness did shine, and the darkness did not perceive it. John 1:5

Any conservative who considers not voting for Romney is not really a conservative; the essence of conservatism is to deal with life as it actually is, hard as that is to discern. The difficulty of discerning what actually is, is itself a principle of conservatism.
Any "conservative" who does not vote for Romney is an ideologist, the opposite of a conservative.

There is a juicy desalination plant sitting in Bengazi's inner harbor that would make a good target. Let the people of the city carry their water in buckets for a year, just to remind them of what not to do.

We face a triple threat. The alliance is between the Education Overlords/Media/Lawyer profession and they are dominating and destroying the nation through Lawfare. The first step is to destroy the media's power. After the election we need to start laying the groundwork for operations against the press.
Posted by: Sven10077
Breitbart said politics is downstream from culture. We need to take back the culture. It will be a long, hard slog and take decades -- it's taken decades for the left to get the lock on the entertainment/educational/press axis, but it gives them all their power. Because they set "the narrative" we constantly play defense. We have lost a whole generation of millenials who reflexively buy into environmental and socialist nostrums because they've been indoctrinated into it from the time they were tiny. We need to start making our own movies just for entertainment (even if they start out just being posted on YouTube.) I see conservative authors using the Amazon technology to publish their own works -- the Sunday book thread here recommends fellow Moron authors. I'm going to start buying.
Right now I am giving what I can to good Senate candidates, but after the election whoever wins, I want to help take back the entertainment/educational axis. I'll give money to scholarship funds for kids to private conservative schools, buy right wings books, whatever I can do, even though it won't be much. I'd like to get involved in setting up a teacher's school to credential conservative teachers. We must start this, we already may be too late but we need to try.

238If we have to turn the embassies into Fort Apache why have them to begin with? We should not even be in Libya or Egypt right now. Or Yemen.
We can make it expensive enough for the host country to place the priority of protecting the embassy and it's personnel above just about anything else. With the right policy, if the whole city is rioting and burning, police and troops will be clustered around the embassy.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The number of Americans filing new claims for jobless benefits rose more than expected last week, with several states reporting an increase related to Tropical Storm Isaac.
Initial claims for state unemployment benefits rose 15,000 to a seasonally adjusted 382,000, the highest in two months, the Labor Department said on Thursday. The prior week's figure was revised up to show 2,000 more applications than previously reported.
Yeah, because the economy was doing just so great so it must have been because of Isaac. Were last week's numbers revised up because of Isaac too?

Two topics:
1) The Politico article Ace reported of the complete lack of policy to protect the Libyan consulate on 9/11. Four people now dead. This policy was approved by Obama and State Dept and is their responsibility.
2) The optics of Obama jetting off to fundraiser in Las Vegas yesterday, with four dead and Middle East in meltdown. Leading from behind (in this case, behind the slot machines).
Hit these two points, hit them often, hit them hard, plus anything else you can think of.

As soon as I tapped "enter" I recalled his reliance on Netanyahu, which is not to say the Israeli Intelligence Community but is limited to one political party at great odds against the previous party in office, very selective rather than comprehensive with regards to all the intelligence gathered for consideration.
Keeping his advisers under wraps? To the healthy skeptic, "You can trust Mitt" is for suckers to swallow -- rather, trust no one. Skip the disillusion to come, cut to the chase. So what Military brains are behind Mitt Romney? Cheney?
Within the US Military, what connections to date beyond possible knowledge regarding manufacturing contracts has Romney with the Brass? What research on Mitt's part has he conducted regarding the Middle East political history and current warfare (beyond commodities trade of oil, Mormon teachings of End Times, and telling Palestinians in public address that they are beneath the Jewish culture)? We are left to consider the crew behind Mitt's endorsers that includes McShame after the Bush connections. But then, unlike GWB, Mitt isn't trying to sugar coat hearts and minds of Muslims. Like you said Jerusalem consulate has marines. The fucking press can't be bothered to ask these questions.

Three hours from the Cairo breach till the Benghazi breach. Three hours, what the hell was the State Dept. doing in those three hours? Three hours was more then enough time to get our people the hell out of there. In a sane world we would be demanding answers from Hillary and Obama.

We will be decades undoing some of the foreign policy screw ups of this administration and generations for others.
Look, the whole reason we went into Iraq was to create - and demonstrate the possibility of - a seismic shift in culture in ME/Arab/Muslim countries. A new domino theory. Obama was the one to cultivate that fruit ala the Arab Spring and he (and Hillary) totally f'd it up. Pisses me off to no end.
Bush unthawed the status quo and Obama took us decades backward.

They have an unstable state on one border that has more than 10 times as many people as they do and receives almost as much military aid from us.
Consider that if Israel has to fight Iran and Egypt at the same time, it will be about 8 million people facing almost 160 million (and not everyone in that 8 million people are Jews).

As far as ally versus non-enemy, this is definately part of SCOMFs world view. A little game theory will prove this as a fallacy of logic.
