— Gabriel Malor Happy Friday.
Libyan forces have arrested four people in connection with the Benghazi attack, although "those arrested were not directly tied to the attacks that resulted in the deaths."
The Obama Administration has issued a non-denial denial of the report that it had 48 hours warning of the threat in Libya and Egypt.
There were NBC/WSJ polls out yesterday for Ohio and Virginia. The samples were D+10 in Ohio and D+5 in Virginia, so we can safely ignore them.

Officials received credible warning of the embassy attack in Libya 48 hours before the attack!
Some of the missing papers from the consulate are said to list names of Libyans who are working with Americans, putting them potentially at risk from extremist groups, while some of the other documents are said to relate to oil contracts.
According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and "lockdown", under which movement is severely restricted.
Note how all this info is in a foreign paper. Hillary needs to go. She will be gone in 6 months anyway and her presence is a negative.

“I thought that thing last night with the president saying he had ‘a tough day’ and comparing the dead Americans in Libya to campaign supporters, which he did — I thought was one of the most disgraceful, inept and embarrassing performances by a head of state or government that I have ever seen,” Steyn said. “Every American should be ashamed of their president.”

Headline/Link: European governments hope taxing the Vatican can be their saving grace
I wondered how in the hell they expected to do that since the Vatican is an independent country. If you read the actual article only one country is mentioned, Spain, and it is only for non-church related properties.
Still I can see this taking over all over Europe. They will tax everything but Mosques.

President Obama’s campaign has left off its public list of “bundlers” at least 25 names its own finance team considers to be among their most valuable funders, including seven who live in foreign countries, a review of records by The Washington Times found.
So Dems are taking money from foreigners for campaigns again. This is illegal. Should I hold my breath until Holder prosecutes?

What is billed as a “rare spider” has stopped a major highway construction project in TX. The word I am hearing is this spider is not at all rare. Like the equally stupid ADA law this is a much abused law that needs to be either radically modified or repealed.
I can't believe liberals claim to believe in Darwinism and survival of the fittest and then scream "Ah, we must save this endagered spider!" Adapt or become extinct for pete's sake.

These rigged polls still feck up the Real Clear average and Rove and Trippi's weekly updates and they are treated almost everywhere as meaningful. Like the gentle nudge some banks gave the LIBOR.
Some like Bill O think that the RC averaging removes the bias, that wuld be assuming someone is on the Republican side doing the same thing. The closest there is is Rasmussen who still have African Americans turning out at 13 % od total not the normal 11%. Brings up the question, "Why isn't someone on the Republican side doing it?". Same reason 98 % of voter fraud is by the dems also. (I'm being kind to the dems with that estimate I think.)
Also, there are other ways to skew it. Drop out a few "bad data points" (you know dems or inds who are supporting Romney, etc.. Even without a biased weighting (D/R/I) you still get your bias on.

I'm a firm believer in censorship: if I disapprove of a movie, I won't go see it, thus depriving the producers of my money. When enough people do that, the thing disappears.
Of course I'm one of those people who is increasingly angered by weak-kneed eunuchs like John Boner, who are not in the House today putting up -- and passing -- a bill of impeachment against the traitor/felon in the White House. I also support censoring Osama Obama by depriving him of the throne from which he speaks.
Yeah, I support a long prison sentence for Choom Boy, too. But I'm a humanitarian: I'd let his pal Holder have an adjacent cell.

All well and good to know. But responding over there without responding over here is a halfwit's errand. Why is the Libyan Embassy Ambassador in the USA not ordered by our POTUS to go home? That's the traditional first response.
THE POINT remains that Obama failed to protect the USA. Purposely, Obama evaded his intelligence briefings for weeks. He had and has NO EXCUSE. That this attack lasted an entire afternoon and night and into the morning with NO US RESPONSE is unforgivable.

Hey, everyone.
I know today was supposed to be part 3 of my Roscoe Arbukcle story, but, frankly, with the Libyan killing, QE3 and the outright "fuck you - what are you going to do about it?" attitude of the entire Democrat party, up to and including the creature in the Oval Office (hell, even Boss Tweed had some shame), I really have no energy to talk movies. I'm pissed and despondent, torn between wanting Romney to do a 57-state sweep or that chocolate crackhead to win again so all the Peggy Josephs of this country get the barbed cock of Satan good and hard.
So please forgive me. Here's a quick story about Jack Warner, the temperamental, gaffe-prone head of Warner Brothers:
Shortly after the US entered WW2, Madame Chiang Kai-shek came to America to raise money to aid China. When she got to Hollywood, all of the major studios, headed up by Warner, threw a banquet in her honor. After dinner, Madame Chiang thanked the studios for their hospitality and praised all of the stars on hand for their contribution to the war effort.
There was much applause as she finished, which quickly died away as Warner got to his feet. He thanked Madame Chiang for her generous words. Then he paused. Old studio hands looked nervously at each other, wondering what would come next.
Looking straight into Madame Chiang's eyes, Warner blurted out, "Holy cow, that reminds me - I forgot to pick up my laundry!"
Apologies again, 'rons and 'ronettes. Try to have a great weekend. See you all on Monday.

No doubt you are correct, Vic- but the thing that infuriates me is the brain dead insistence that all the unrest is because of a youtube clip that has been up since July. The link you provided has Fox even doing it- "Violence spreads...over anti-islam film".
Wrong. Violence is spreading because people that follow islam in the middle east/north africa are feral curs with the morality of jackals, living in a civilization of raw sewage. In the west, they ape the customs and mores of human beings until a critical mass of the scum overtake the hosts- and then it's back to the 7th century.
And my prediction still holds- the Iraqi embassy will be attacked before the month is out. At this point, I'll say the over/under is 22nd of September.

Clawed one electoral vote back. Probably gonna need it....
An Iowa Republican appointed to the Electoral College, Melinda Wadsley, decided Thursday she couldn't in good conscience vote for Romney. She had backed Ron Paul! during the GOP primary, and resigned to allow the Iowa GOP to choose someone else for that duty.
Iowa GOP Chairman A.J. Spiker said in a statement Thursday that the state party's central committee would begin the process of selecting a replacement, essentially allowing the party to confirm a die-hard Romney supporter.
A mother of three in Ames, Wadsley was one of three electors featured in an AP story published early Thursday that noted some GOP electors were unsure they would vote for Romney if he won their states on Nov. 6.

Oh, and I agree with those who say that the "film" is not the reason for this. It's just a prop, the way the Mohammed cartoons were.
If I were a betting man I would be betting that this whole thing is being ginned up by the Russians as payback for 25 years ago in Afghanistan. They'll use the Muz against us the same way we used them against them.

Hang out with some Air Force officers or Army enlisted sometime. Both will tell you about Jesus being their personal Lord and Savior at the drop of a hat. It was especially bad at the USAF Academy a while back IIRC.

That may be true but I wonder if R2 is being too strategic. I saw an article that R2 is targetting certain sections of swing states wtih advertising - that may be why others in the state aren't seeing anything. The problem with this approach is it doesn't expande the map and put O on the defensive. It also doesn't help combat the R2 is goign to lose meme the DSM is pushing

"We came. We saw. We killed. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!" --Killery Clinton
Hell. She didn't even finish with "conquer" -- as if killing of itself accomplished Obama's Policy. Kill. And SHE is the one who compared the USA to the Roman Empire.
Yet Caesar didn't fight a war except to attain victorious conquest. Romans were no Socialists, and Caesar proved himself neither a democrat nor a republican.
Obama admitted at his administration's onset the he is not interested in Victory. Though Obama dreams of having Caesar's power and self vested authority to convert himself into a god worshiped by all, a god that vanquishes the Roman Republic, yet in comparison, Caesar did not conquer a new country and people in order to send from Rome financial funding for that foreign population to spend as they like, to establish their own form of governance to suit themselves in defiance of Rome, and also fail to retrieve heavy taxation and natural resources from the vanquished due to the overlords.
Hypocritical Obama, Neo-Colonialist.
"What I hate most about all this sh*t is its predictability."
And while the bloody instability through perpetual upheavals erupt anew, how's the Dollar doing in Europe and Asia? Wars require finance. Maintenance of conquests require finance. Germany and France downgraded the Dollar. Bernanke cranks out more to burn. Obama blames his puppets for not keeping the peace that Obama himself has no interest in either creating or maintaining. One campaign speech before his 2008 election, and Obama Inc. think Barry earned his Nobel Peace Prize.
How is the Central Bank of Egypt these days? Libya's Central Bank was seized with gold reserves confiscated when Killery/Obama ordered Gaddafi's mutilation. How is Libya's financial system these days?

thunder,
Barry not only said it, he published it for profits. And people bought it.
For his own profit made at the expense of nations losing Rule of Law, "Barry built this" convolution, repackaged as if "hope" the promotion of the illegal, imprudent, insolent and foolish behaviors. Hillary clarified the US Policy: Kill for killing's sake. "We came. We saw. We killed. BWahahahahahaha!" So far from funny, I vomit.
Audacity:
1. Fearless daring; intrepidity.2. Bold or insolent heedlessness of restraints, as of those imposed by prudence, propriety, or convention.3. An act or instance of intrepidity or insolent heedlessness: warned the students than any audacities committed during the graduation ceremony would be punished.

In order for me to feel good ignoring a poll because it is D+10 or D+5 or R+30 or whatever, I'd need to know what the real percentage of registered voters is in that state. I can't say if the poll is over or under weighted without that, but that information is almost never included with the "so you can ignore / take heart" message.
I'm also interested in the degree to which the sampling method is biased because people who will take polls may not match the likely voter population. And because today if the polls rely on land line phones, they will miss the cell phone only population, which is growing. I don't have a land line, for instance. Do they now call cell numbers? Only of people who list their numbers when they register?

>>According to Crain’s Chicago Business, after the latest round of negotiations, merit pay is now “off the table” and the city has given in on the formula for evaluating teacher performance. Chicago Public Schools had wanted 40% of a teacher’s evaluation to be based on “student growth,” but now has put forth a plan that cuts this to 35%, with another 20% based on students’test scores.

Carla Brenner said his life became a living hell once the other prisoners realized he was a man. The 52-year-old drag queen said he was assaulted and abused by the other prisoners when they realized he had still had male anatomy.
Brenner's problems began when he was convicted of felony theft in 2011 and jailed for three months in Nashville, Tennessee.

I want Romney to address the MSM Copperheads by saying - I dont care, no one is listening to them. We will wake up Matt Drudge and call in the British papers whenever we are going to have a presser. NBC, CBS, et all can look in thru the fence from Layfette Park, with all of the other hippies and bums.

Schrödinger's cat,
Were the grain planted today in Egypt, the harvest would either be destroyed by warring factions, or stolen by warring factions. More likely than not, the farmers themselves are being obliterated, killed in their own fields, killed while attempting to farm the grain.
Irony burns deep. I'm reminded of the parable taught from the Egypt/Joseph story. Since Egypt had stored grain, when the years of drought progressed, peoples from the surrounding regions came to buy grain. When funds were depleted to buy grain, upon return for more from the Pharaoh, people previously independent of Egyptian rule sold their lands, their tools and means to rebuild and farm when the drought would finally end.
Generations prior to the Joseph/Egypt migration, Esau when starving after hunting unsuccessfully (during a drought) to find his father's family food for everyone including Jacob, being required by his brother to sell his birthright for a bowl of porridge when Jacob refused his own brother some food that was understood to be shared in common. As if Esau would have refused his brother Jacob a share of the meat had his hunt found prey. But then, Abraham's many tribes of progeny were not Egyptian. Interestingly when Moses led the Hebrews out of Egypt, God ordered the descendants of Jacob to leave the descendents and lands of Lot's relatives and Esau's people alone, reminding them that God himself permanently gifted those lands to those relatives/descendants of Abraham, referenced in scripture (English transl) as "cousins", all being Semitic, btw.

We're all obsessive personalities?
Actually, I've thought about this, and I can't answer for you, but I'll answer for me.
Really, there are 3 things.
1- An obsessive personality (really). I'm going to be fixated on or addicted to something, so it might as well be something significant.
2- An understanding of what is really at stake. I never remember going through the Liberal phase most kids go through. I never recall ever thinking, "Well, if we just did this the world would be better and everyone would love everyone else, and it would be perfect!" Maybe that's because, reared as a member of the Church of Christ, I always understood the fallen state of man and that human perfectibility is impossible.
So, when I look at what people like Mike Bloomberg or TFG, the SCOAMT, are doing, I understand that they're demanding a price (my Liberty) for which I will get no benefit in return- the benefit they're promising is impossible. I don't particularly like getting bilked out of things, especially my Liberty, so I watch it like a hawk.
3- Empowerment. With the rise of the Blogosphere, my voice can finally be heard. Between comments here (which generate results on Google and Bing), and my own Blog (yes, I have one), people are finally hearing what I have to say. They're finally hearing my viewpoint.
Because of Twitter, Facebook (no, I don't have an account, but it's still out there), and Blogs, we finally have weapons that normal people can use that give us a chance in the Media/Culture war.

So Friday is usually the best day for Romney, then weekend Obama will creep up and usually by up 1 on Monday (in Rasmussen). We will see if there is fallout from this Libya debacle over the weekend. The foreign papers reporting things that US papers refuse to report is usually a good sign that Obama stepped in it.
If Romney is up 1 on Monday, then Libya was a big problem for Obama.
It isn't likely that this issue will stay front and center for more than a few days though. In two weeks we are likely to be talking about gas prices as QE3 starts pushing inflation up.

But as they talked of orange groves all I could think of was a recent case in the LA area. This was before all the property went underwater. There was this prime piece of land just needing development, except it was an orange grove and owner refused to sell. Mysteriously the whole grove got poisoned. So the trees died. But the grove owner was able to prove in court the real estate speculators had done it and won against them. Then 2008 happened.

Not really. The only real difference between the 06 then and now is the primer. Keep in mind that the 03-A3 was used right up through WWII.
As I said, I shot both max loads and accuracy loads in mine with zero issues. And the barrel isn't the issue, the receiver chamber is where the pressures are developed.

BOTH of his cited inspirations were full bore communists. One of them later in life recanted, but they were communists who called themselves "anarchists". .

Remember, all elections are ultimately about keeping our kids from being killed overseas and keeping ourselves fed and under a non-leaking roof. Everything else is just details.
Fortunately for our side, Obama has blown donkey cock at both of the above agenda items. Unfortunately for our side, more people are sucking up that "free cheese" than ever before and the media are his Praetorians.
We will still overcome, though. Amazing how just when O seems to be showing some life something external happens to return focus to his failures. Almost like God watches out for children, drunks, and Americans or something.

I bought a ton of surplus 30-06 to fire in my M1, and many of those cartridges showed a slightly extruded primer after firing. Modern stuff didn't so I assumed it was the ammo producing higher pressure, inconsistent manufacture, or both.
Either way, I'm not worried about the chamber bursting!
Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at September 14, 2012 05:23 AM (2b4yb)
Right. Keep believing that. The only poll that uses the same sample (both size and weighting) repeatedly shows definite motion in one direction. But it's the one that's wrong. While everyone else can barely get Obama up by single digits (usually between 3 & 5) by using a 2008 turn-out model.

I wouldn't want to be in Bernake's shoes trying to keep unemployment down without blowing more inflation in. I cannot judge how good a job he is doing, because, though I've seen inflation and unemployment, but I don't know what prices or employment would be had the Fed taken a different course.
It would be a lot simpler to have the Fed just responsible for a stable currency, but I think that is not likely to happen, since the public knows that monetary policy has a big impact on the real economy. They want the Fed to ride to the rescue.
Does this help Obama? Yes. Is the Fed taking these actions because they want to help Obama, on purpose? I cannot say - does anyone have evidence of that motive?

Do you remember the date on the ammo? In any case I wouldn't worry so much about a slightly extruded primer as swelling at the base of the casing.
Another indicator which is much more dangerous is split casings and actual powdered casings. That is a sign of overloaded ammo or imminent failure of the chamber or both.

I also find it interesting that we only polled Palm Beach County in FL last week. The most D part of the state. And the urban areas of Iowa. And NE Ohio. And New Mexico. And the most D part of AZ, specifically on the congressional race in an urban Hispanic part of Phoenix. And a D CD in NC. And MT, specifically on Tester. And NoVA. And eastern PA.
Getting the picture? Public polls are useless. Watch where campaigns spend their money and where they send the candidates and surrogates. Words are shit in a campaign. Words are all spin.
Actions tell you what is really going on.

But the Great State of Texas offers free-to-applicant official photo ID cards for the indigent, funded by tax dollars, as well as public assistance for bus tickets for the indigent.
There is no financial hardship imposed on the poor to apply for State photo ID cards.
Contrast: OBAMACARE indeed imposes MANDATED FINANCIAL HARDSHIP and resulting BANKRUPTCY of citizens, medical institutions, States and the federal government.

Recalling the movie Chinatown, back then, you had to show your identification to State Border Patrol when leaving one State and entering another within the USA. And if you were private citizens in your own cars, you also had to forfeit any fruit or vegetation at the border, by law, to prevent the incursion of agricultural pests from one State to another.

As it is, the focus is on a question by one of the Republican justices about procedure. The Dem justices (thecourt is split 3-3, the 7th justice (guess teh party) is currently suspended pending an ethics investigation) predictably asked the usual stupid questions. "why the rush?" (the law was passed 8 months ago), "isn't that political?", blah blah blah.
I'm out of the court prediction business, Roberts ruined that. In a sane world, of course, there wouldn't even be a hearing.

We're about to find out that it was something Romney said which sparked the mass mustard aneurysm. Something like this, from 2007:
"This is about Shia and Sunni. This is about Hezbollah and Hamas and Al Qaida and the Muslim Brotherhood. This is a worldwide jihadist effort to try and cause the collapse of all moderate Islamic governments and replace them with a caliphate.
They ultimately want to bring down the United States of America.
This is a global effort weÂ’re going to have to lead to overcome this jihadist effort. ItÂ’s more than Osama bin Laden.
But he is going to pay, and he will die.”

Incidentally, they say that TFG is a master of nuance but it appears to me that his problem is not enough nuance. I mean, take his policy that the mission of NASA is Muslim outreach. If he had just nuanced it to Muslim outreach is the mission of the intercontinental ballistic missile program he would have had something.

The Kim Strassel piece in the WSJ this morning was spot on. Romney's underperforming because he's isn't defining his positions forcefully enough. This has created a vacuum that Obama and Co. have been able to fill in with all of their bullshit, and they really force it when they do (which is how it should be done). Therefore, Obama's spin is basically the definitive word on what Romney wants to do, it is overwhelmingly what reaches independent voters and paints their impressions.
I think this talk that Romney's campaign is done is nonsense, but we can't dilude ourselves into thinking that all these polls are bullshit an we're killing it and things are just going to work out for us because the economy sucks and the world's falling apart. Yeah, the polls are skewed some and it's definitely closer than they reflect, but the fact that it's even close should put the Romney team on notice, because the fact of the matter is he should be destroying Obama right now, and he's not. They have got to start being more forceful and defining Romney and his plans and not allowing Obama to do that for him.

Geraldo this morning on F&F said some amazingly stupid things. The Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda disagree on one overarching area of violence: versus other Muslims. Al Qaeda, being a Salfist Sunni group believe Shia to be "rafidite dogs" and murder them in droves. Al Qaeda, mostly, considers Muslims killed in terror attacks to be acceptable losses. The Muslim Brotherhood, being more pragmatic and political, tries to paper over the sectarian feud to focus on the jihad against the Dar al-Harb and makes statements against terror attacks which kill a lot of Muslims.
There is NO space between them when it comes to killing non-Muslims like American military or diplomatic corps. It's the struggle in the cause of Allah to make Islam the only religion on the face of the earth and to make sure God's Law (sharia) is the only law followed on earth. Absolutely no disagreement on that.

I thought that was what they were talking about. But there is one sure way to check if you still have some of the ammo. Take a commercial round and measure the length form bottom of the case to tip of the bullet and compare it to the surplus. Use calipers if you have them.
But with all of these things we are getting outside of my level of expertise. What I do know for a fact is that I have shot many different types of old and new ammo, including hand loads, in an 03-A3 with zero indication of problems anywhere.

The point? Obama is offering the mobs US flesh and blood as if no skin off his nose.
Obama has taken the Christian world back to pre-Christian era of blood sacrifice, and to prove that US citizens are less than beasts of burden. Obama not only allows human sacrifice, but the anal rape and mutilation prior to the Ambassador's placement on his altar.
Regardless of religious creed, this is Shock and Awe up close and personal in your face. Of course, Obama does not rebuke the Libyan Ambassador. Rather, Obama's minions promote a crappy film as if an acceptable scapegoat for Obama's guilt. "America is a downright mean country." And the first lady Michelle Obama went on to explain, "For the first time in my (adult) life, I'm proud to be an American."
Irony burns. Obama stipulated from his political onset his exact agenda, published in books and broadcast through the internet his own campaign platform list. That Americans chose to ignore is the greatest disappointment, that Americans chose to STAY stuck on stupid.

I can tell you that here in the most important concentration of swing voters in the Holy Swing State of Florida, Romney's ads on foreclosures are so bad that I think they are Soros funded. "Create 700,000 new jobs" is not a "plan".
On the other hand, Obama's three month negative ad blitz was well produced and overwhelming, like nothing I've ever seen. I've never seen so many negative ads where the actual candidate "approves this message," or so many ads period. I mean every commercial break for months, a dozen or more different negative ads.
Romney's biggest problem is to overcome decades of Gramscian programming in the public schools and universities. Crappy ads and vague speeches aren't getting it done.
Also, Romney needs to stop trying to emphasize every word when speaking before big crowds. Just talk and let the sound system amplify your voice, Mitt. He sounded so much better at the one-question-seven-times press conference.

Consider that the total civilian labor force is now around 155 million. Simple math means Social Security is paying out more than $4,000 per worker annually--meaning the first $4,000 of every person's pay check ought to go to support an SS recipient.

Police had earlier fired tear gas to try to disperse some 5,000 protesters who had ringed the German embassy and nearby British mission. But a Reuters witness said policemen just stood by when the crowd forced its way into Germany's mission.

551 How is Romney supposed to "define his positions" when the media refuses to give him a platform. When I'm at the gym during the day on the treadmill in front of a bank of tv monitors it's all obama, all day, even on FOX. Romney can't rely on "ads" for all his air time. At some point there is over-saturation with ads. How does Strassel suggest he get this done logistically
You know how he took it to Obama on Medicare? That was pitch perfect, he just hammered home what Obama wants to do and what he wants to do. He totally defined that argument and it was definitely the high point of the campaign so far. But why won't he do that with his tax policy? Or healthcare? I feel like they're picking their spots and focusing on those too much, which worked for things like medicare, but leaves openings too. I've heard a lot of people talking about Romney's tax reforms on Obama's terms, for instance, and not much push back from the Romney team. He needs to have a constant assault like the one he had with medicare coming from every direction.

I explained to him that that was what set us apart: I'm not in it for my own well-being; I'm responsible for that, not the government...I voted based on what was best for the country as a whole, not what was best for my lifestyle.

You know I could never understand this detailed plan bullshit people want to see. I doesn't make any difference when it comes to governing and it never has. We could elect Ron Paul as President and it doesn't mean the end of the Fed or a flat tax or an isolationist foreign policy will ever see the light of day. That's not how governing and legislation works. People that need to see and hear some detailed policy shit to make a decision are so fucking clueless they shouldn't be voting in the first place.

Well last night I got out of the house. Went to see Chinatown on a cinema screen. Jack Nicholson, Faye Dunaway, John Houston, water, LA, orange groves, and Roman Polanski. I had never seen the movie before and wow, I was impressed. Even when I was cringing over and well just going 'EEEEWWW!!!!' over the twist. Now if I can only make my story half as good as that script.
I'm sure you will, Anna. While I was scrolling, I noticed some of you talking about the whole plot thrust of the movie. If the news gets a little better next week - and if anyone's interested - I can tell you about William Mulholland and the California Water Wars.

They call X number of questionees and then either identiify the split of the called, or draw from X number a sample to crunch numbers you need to check the methodology of the poll. With the poll of Ohio they gave the Democrats +10% over the GOP in the sample and then report the preferences as "Obama leads by Y%" the problem is reality has a way of rearing its head and in this case that means the poll showing Obama at+Y% has a built in +2% versus 2008 Democrat turnout advantage cooked in.
ie it is built of imaginarium

This is from Rasmussen's daily Presidential Tracking Poll for 9/14 (which shows Romney currently leading with 48%):
Finally, it is way too early to evaluate the political impact, if any, from recent events in the Middle East. TodayÂ’s tracking data shows that despite the extensive news coverage of Arab attacks on U.S. embassies, only six percent (6%) of voters consider national security issues the most important during this election cycle. ThatÂ’s little changed from five percent (5%) before the attacks began. Additionally, voters currently trust the president more than Romney on national security issues by a narrow 46% to 43% margin. That, too, is little changed following recent events
A few things.
1) The fact that only 6% feel national security issues are the most important in this election cycle doesn't really surprise me -- the economy and jobs are the most important and will continue to be the most important. But it would be silly to think that voters aren't paying attention to the violence and turmoil around the globe, especially in the Middle East, and factoring that into their vote. Which leads to...
2) The fact that the sitting President has only a 3% lead on national security issues over a former Governor who, as the Dems like to remind us, has no foreign policy experience, is the more telling of the two comparisons. It's especially telling that, after attacks on our diplomatic outposts abroad -- on the anniversary of 9/11 no less -- the President hasn't seen any boost in his national security "street cred." That could change as time passes, but at least for the moment his horribly botched handling of the newest Mid-East crisis hasn't done him any favors.
I don't have the political breakdown of respondents to be able to say how these percentages are weighted in terms of Dems, Republicans, and Independents. But I know that Rasmussen tends to be very even-handed.

Spot on. It has come to this, Morons and "Ettes....it is up to you and me and our contact list to email the truth, such as real news coming from the British press. The American press is transparently complicit in aiding and abetting Obama. They want him reelected. They want Romney, Our Evil Overlord, to be defeated at any cost.
Middle East burning to the ground? Romney's fault. Global economy taking? Romney's fault (or Bain, take your pick). US Economy tanking? Romney's fault. Social Security going bankrupt? Romney's fault.
It is up to us. While we need a leader of the conservative movement (blogs) to organize us and guide us as to who to reverse the Alinsky Rule of focusing on a target (Romney/Ryan), we have to help. We have to get word out to people, either totally ignorant, stupid and self-absorbed who are not paying attention to what is happening as American turns into North Korea; or people who get their news only from the state-controlled media of CNN or newspapers. THESE are the people you need to reach. I am talking to the choir with you guys about the blatant lies of this administration re: Libya: the security breach, the warnings ignored, the optics of The Won flitting off to Vegas instead of paying attention to the chaos that is blowing up more today. WE KNOW. We have to reach those who don't know. The only way I know of doing this is via Internet, emails, and conversations, linking the truth from the foreign press, Drudge, conservative blogs, or FOX.
This IS the most important election of our lifetime. Are you ready to fight and get this done? I am, and I am mad as hell and not going to take this anymore. We are not going to become North Korea if I can help it.

There's been a lot of anti-Jewish incidents perpetrated by Muslims in Berlin this year, including a rabbi assaulted by the usual "unidentified youths." No embassies were burned. Maybe a lesson will be learned (probably not; they still prefer to blame "right-wing extremists.")
But there was, wait for it, a Yarmulke flash mob.

Interesting caption for a gallery slideshow over at the WaPo.
U.S. ambassadors killed in the line of duty: John Christopher Stevens is the eighth American ambassador to die in the line of duty since 1950.
I like that they tack Ambassador Stevens' death onto the end like this is something that happens with relative frequency. "Look, since 1950 we've had 8 ambassadors who've died! That's, what, at least one per decade? It happens." What they choose to ignore is that the last ambassador to be MURDERED in the line of duty was in 197-fricking-9, or more than thirty years ago. One of our ambassador's died in a plane crash in 1988, but that was an accident, not an assasination.

They're just trying to fit the narrative that this isn't that big of a deal; a tragedy, but nothing earth-shattering. Because they're bastards.

I notice the price of my Storm has gone up. When I bought my Storm, when they first came out, price was about $620. Now on Beretta's site the price is over $900. Yikes. Qualitative easing effect?

"The change in tone is important but I would have liked a more stronger [sic] statement,” Krugman said. “It leaves things a bit unclear.”
When one hears such brilliance, what can one say but... Krugman.

i suppose it will be of more than just interest to watch which countries believe, ennacting New hate speech laws, or as i believe the precurser to control/sharia like for the worlds citizens. Heck think of all the speech they might add, do not insult your leaders etc..
I'm very disappointed in our fellow citizens nevermind thse currently in power suggesting it , and that free speech rights are now now out of style.
for the greater good of course.

You're forgetting the most important thing: Islam has several plans for Islamic conquest depending on Islamic numbers. It's all based on the life of Muhammed. They are in the hijra (immigration for conquest) and dawah (conversion of non-Muslims) phase of conquest in the US.
Clearly, anyone can miscalculate. And individual Muslims are notoriously unstable. But their playbook is amazingly effective. Evil gits er done.
