— Gabriel Malor Happy Friday.
Today is officially the last day of summer. Make it good.
Many liberals (and even some conservatives) are pimping the idea that Romney is having the worst month ever and that he might as well quit now. That is, objectively, the stupidest, least supportable conclusion one could draw from the events of the past month. The status quo prevails.
Coincidentally, U.S. distrust in media hits 60 percent, a new high.

Former Wisconsin governor and current U.S. Senate candidate Tommy Thompson says his declining poll numbers in recent days are due partly to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's lack of momentum on the presidential campaign trail.
No Mr. Thompson here is why the poll numbers are down:
A CBS/New York Times/Quinnipiac University poll released this week showed the race as tied at 47 percent. A Marquette poll last month showed Mr. Thompson with a 9-point lead.
The proper response would have been “I don’t believe these poll numbers, they are skewed news polls”.

Multiyear farm bills usually are among the most bipartisan legislative matters on Capitol Hill, as lawmakers from agricultural states and districts — despite party — come together to ensure their success. But with the bill stuck in the House due largely to intraparty bickering by Republicans, the current five-year farm bill will expire at the end of the month without a replacement.
No asshole, it is not intra-Party bickering. This is NOT a damn farm bill. The last I saw 85% of it was food stamps and socialism. It is time to kill all this farm BS anyway. Most of the real money goes to fat cat corporate farms anyway.

Considering Gallup and Ras are about where they were a month ago, Obama's in a shit lot of trouble if Romney has "had the worst month ever".....
Don't know why the Left insist in pushing this line. It just reflects badly on O (why isn't he 20 points up then??)....and when the polls FINALLY start to reflect reality, the perception of huge momentum in Romney's favour will be generated.

We already had a law with work requirements. Obama illegally just said no we will not require any work because I said so, so let it be written so let it be done. A bill of impeachment would be a better statement even if it would not go anywhere either.

Valeria's Last Stand
Valeria has long been the grumpy and respected touchstone of her Hungarian community, but when the village potter captures her fancy, her social standing starts unraveling. Joyful and wise, this small-town satire takes an honest look at later-in-life romance and the notion that it's never too late to start anew.

I know a lot of the Morons on here seem to be worried about these bull shit polls. If it was left up to me there would be no posts about polls until about two weeks before the election. They are all "Jimmy Carter" polls that showed him tied or ahead write up to the end when he lost by 47 States.
You can NEVER believe anything political that the MFM says people so turn them off in your head.

Pleased to see independents are just as untrusting of the media as Republicans.......
Also interesting to see in some recent polls, only something like 20% of people think Romney's comments on Libya were appropriate, but he still gets 46-47% of the vote. Suggests people may be brainwashed into thinking it was a "gaffe", but that it makes no difference to their vote.

The Obama tax funded apology ad actually serves only to fan the flames.
http://tinyurl.com/bu44xc8
"Hillary Clinton In Deep Denial - Or Lying Through Her Teeth"
Sept. 20, 2012 - How out of touch with reality is the Obama Administration? Despite reliable sources saying that recently-slain U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens believed he was marked for death by al-Qaeda, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says she has no reason to believe that such was the case. ... "The damage from the attack on the Benghazi consulate involves more than the tragic deaths of personnel there. Sensitive documents, notes The Independent UK, were taken from the compound,
"and the supposedly secret location of the 'safe house' in the city, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar attack. Other such refuges across the country are no longer deemed 'safe'." Those sensitive documents probably contained names of Libyans friendly the U.S., which means that they are now in danger."
update: To add insult to injury, nobody in the Obama Administration has issued any kind of formal apology for leaving Ambassador Stevens and his staff wide open to deadly attack. Yet today we learn that the U.S. government is paying for televised ads in Pakistan that essentially apologize for the anti-Islam video "Innocence of Muslims." Taxpayer dollars are paying for that ad. Fox News reports today that the ads show Obama and Hillary Clinton condemning the video (with Urdu language subtitles). The Fox headline, by the way, was "Obama and Hillary Apologize for Free Speech on Pakistani TV." How true. How sad. -- rogersparkbench

"So let’s get this straight: The State Department spent seventy grand of taxpayer money to have the Secretary of State and the President of the United States apologize for a film they “allegedly” had nothing to do with. Well it’s nice to know our money is being spent so wisely by Hussein and his administration as they continue to apologize for someone simply exercising their First Amendment rights, instead of reprimanding those who blew up the consulate and killed Americans." -- Tim Brown

Morning, 'rons and 'ronettes. Overslept this morning, so only time for a quick Ronaldus Magnus story:
During the filming of King's Row - Reagan's favorite of all his movies - he talked politics between takes so much that co-star Bob Cummings finally told him "Ronnie, you ought to run for President."
"President of what?" Reagan asked.
"Of the United States."
Reagan looked at Cummings for a moment, then gave him the famous Gipper smile. "Bob, don't you like my acting either?"
Sorry to be so brief. If I don't get a chance to check back in, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Molly @ 58:
Good grief, just had a little chat with my daughter. Stuck her head out to let me know she needs lunch money which led to a conversation about lunch at school. It seems there are new lunch rules this year. No more pizza EVER, chips and fries have dissapeared and in their place is carrots or beans. No 2 of anything is allowed. If she arrives at the cashier without veggies on her plate she is sent back and not allowed out until she scoops the proper amount of carrots onto her tray. This is beyond stupid....we aren't talking about grade school here either. This is high school. I'll have to do some research but I can probably guess who is behind this.
My daughter stopped buying school lunches for that reason. She gets up early, and makes her own these days.....and she's not alone. A lot of her friends are doing the same thing. Moochelle is behind the new federal 'rules' on what kids are allowed to eat. Just another step toward the totalitarian dreams of the left...get the kids used to the Feds dictating things as mundane as 'lunch', and they'll be that much easier to convince that subsequent federal over reach into their private lives is just fine.

Yeah, that'll be next. They'll start by holding 'lunch inspections', and if the student's brown bag offerings don't pass federal muster, the food will be confiscated, and the students will be fed the 'healthy' fare prepared for them by the loving hand of our federal government. Their parents will be billed for the food, and the kids will not be allowed to advance to the next grade until those bills are paid.

I can think of many, many reasons. First amongst those is: Wide avenues with low buildings on a fixed, star-shape = prime artillery hunting grounds. Barry would need ONE arty detachment and all the ranges are pre-figured anyhow. But there's more than one way to 'encircle', which is a cognate for 'isolate'

Where's the RNC that hired Eastwood's act in this voter's defense? This will be a hot potato that no one claims. Will Clint mention the hanging chad/chair? Will Ted Cruz say anything? Where will this voter's Congressman and TX-R US Senators speak a word toward defending his artistic nuance and the 1st Amendment? If he's a veteran, God help him, as DHS Napolitano has him in national security target cross-hairs as an eminent threat, to survey a potential enemy of the state.
I would not be surprised to find that it remains the libertarians who actually help the US citizen to defend the endowment of Natural Rights and his constitutional rights. /Boo, hiss, libertarian bad./

Re: School lunches. My daughter is in Kindergarten in public school here in FL. Lunches aren't terrible. Minor stupidity. A typical lunch for her, when she buys, is a PB&J, veggie (weird kid LOVES broccoli), milk/choc milk/juice and a cheese stick. She hates the cheese stick. Refuses to eat it, but they make her take it. School rules say you can't trade food with other kids and you can't take any food out of the cafeteria. So every time she gets it, it gets thrown in the trash. Stupid and wasteful. But they still have real food too. They have Sloppy Joe's some days, they have pizza on Fridays, etc.

Belgian Prostitutes Told To Wear More Clothes, Stop Miming Sex Acts
The UK Telegraph: http://tiny.cc/qilzkw
"...A new local police order will force prostitutes working day and night [in the city of Ghent] behind Amsterdam-style, neon-flashing windows, a feature of the trade across north-eastern mainland Europe, to cover up and quit sexually-charged posing before passers-by.
Mayor Daniel Termont told AFP he was not "anti-prostitutes."
"I'm not a puritan," he said. "Far from it! A city like Ghent needs prostitutes, but they have to respect certain rules."
The UK media, bringing you the stories that REALLY matter.
In case you're wondering why this new prohibition is going into effect, the prostitutes say, "Blame all the Eastern European newcomers." So we can't blame it on the dirty Scandis this time.
BTW, I love that the Mayor qualifies his "I'm not a puritan" statement with "Far from it!" It makes me wonder what kind of sexual hijinks he gets up to in his spare time.

We're talking weather, eh? I'm in New England, so we get the four seasons pretty clear cut. The winters tend to be more extreme than the summers (more likely to have a major blizzard or ice storm than an unrelenting heat wave), but the spring and autumn are both generally mild and lovely. There was a bit of an early winter chill in the air this morning, though. All it needed was that smoky, crisp smell in the air to signal snow and I would have thought it was November.
BTW, alexthechick? I agree with you. I have a terrible feeling this is going to be an awful winter. Last winter was ridiculously good here in NH -- our biggest snowstorm was in October, and that was about it till late January! Our summer wasn't bad, but we didn't get a lot of rain. I'm convinced Mother Nature's saving up all that moisture to dump on us as massive amounts of snow.

Apparently immediately before the vote dead line they were not even in the top then all of sudden within 24 hours they are walking away with the top prize. (according facebook comments). Many of the small charities are crying foul. It looks like small animal shelters push very hard/campaign to get chance for this money and as result give Chase a lot of free PR. Basically it seems to be comment war between crazy cat ladies and jihadies. Well until Chase deletes the comments.

Only partially related, but this year I've seen a lot more competition between our gray squirrels, red squirrels, and chipmunks. They're constantly chasing each other around. They do that anyway, but it's been a lot more pronounced this year. I fear they sense something we don't so they're fighting over who gets to stuff the most acorns in their dens for the winter.
I almost feel sorry for the gray squirrels. They have NO shot of keeping up with the chipmunks. Those chippies are stupid fast.

(2) She is a CBC member, no Republican has the balls to say anything about them, much less do anything.
(3) RACIST!

One reason I gave up on the iphone Att will not offer insurance on it. We have had lost/stolen 3 iphones. Not sure if this changed but last time I checked Apple doesn't even a locator service.
Also I can do more with Motorola. The iphone tends to be a little more user friendly initially but I can do so much more with my Motorola

Holy shit. Where did you go to school? We didn't even have lunch rooms, just sat in the breezeway (Arizona) or at our desks with our homemade lunches. The only thing provided by the school was milk.

I grew up in Atlanta in the 60's , and school pizza was done badly. Funny thing is, all the transplants from up north killed for the school pizza. Every Pizza day, I traded my lame, little, gloppy piece of pizza to Robbie Jacobs for his big, fat, homemade pastrami on rye sandwich, which he got about three times a week and was sick to death of. Also got lots of good homemade stuff in trade for School Rolls, which I didn't acquire a taste for until High School.

Yeah, Atlanta in the 60s may have had some pizza. Dublin in the 50s sure didn't.

Expecting your mortal enemies to publicly give an accurate assessment of your efforts to defeat them is something only an autistic savant would do.
Conservatives who say this are either not actually conservative, or are stupid enough to listen to enemy propaganda.
