— Ace I don't get much of this hassle -- but then I'm not an attractive young girl.
For some reason -- Dana Loesch seems to get this problem a lot -- the TSA is pretty sure that most terrorists are attractive young women, and they're probably hiding their bombs in their vaginas and breasts.
So, now a 17 year old girl, daughter grand-niece of a Congressman, on a trip with her Christian youth group, has her breasts publicly exposed by the TSA.
What the government and the civil libertarians are quite certain of is that we must not racially profile people actually fitting the terrorist profile -- Muslim men between 18 and 40. So we let the TSA workers pick and choose. And what ends up happening is we get racial profiling of young women, aged 16 to 35, usually white and usually a C cup or better. They are not being selected for their likelihood of terrorist intent, but rather according to how much the TSA screener wants to touch them.
This is racial profiling too -- or sexual profiling, at least, and unlike the racial kind, it has no rational link to the sort of crime being profiled. This is just about personal sexual jollies.

Big, black, friendly dogs.
The dogs wouldn't have to actually DO anything, just be there and be friendly. The screeners would just watch the reactions of the passengers to the dogs.
Select anybody who reacts negatively for closer screening.

The last time I flew to Europe, as I was putting my shoes back on, I watched a TSA goon feeling down the front of a pilot's pants.
As I tweeted (but very carefully did not say out loud), if a pilot wants to kill a whole bunch of people with an airplane, he doesn't need to carry a weapon onto his plane. EgyptAir Flight 990, for example.

Nighthawk, at JFK they used the cutest little beagle to sniff our luggage. They were looking for food contraband, which beagles are ideal for.
My kids wanted to play with the lovable pooch, but the handler told us he was a working dog and to stay back. So the beagle ran right to them and begged for bagels!
Rottweilers are what your proposal suggests, Big goofy mooshes until you respond poorly--then instant alert posture. "Sir, step over here please. Poomba here seems to think you have a problem with dogs."

Anyone else catching this "a serial killer did it" on FNC?
There is now a question whether Nicole Brown-Simpson and Ron Goldman were killed by a serial killer who targeted folks with an '8' in their address.
Mark Furman up next to discuss.

So much for the million muppet march. Turns out Romney was right about funding Big Bird, et. al. Scum and the scum they rode in on.
If Sesame Street has six years of film in a can, seems like we don't need to be funding them at all. Most kids are done with Sesame Street by then, so who cares if they are reruns? Of course, all the new shows have multi-culti crap inserted, no white people at all, and just enough lefty shit to brainwash toddlers. But other than that? Bring back the '70's.

The reason I know it would take less time to drive to Pittsburgh is we used to have some contractors working for us that lived near there. They drove home on weekends and I asked them.
So I can drive to Pittsburgh from Northern SC faster than I can drive to the closest airport and fly.

Sixteen US airports use private screeners, with better results than govt. TSA goon screens:
"San Francisco International Airport (SFO) employs a private contractor for screening passengers and luggage. ItÂ’s one of only 16 airports (out of 450 in this country) allowed to do this. Last year the House Transportation & Infrastructure committee conducted a study of how screening at Los Angeles chief airport (LAX) compared with SFOÂ’s. The astonishing finding: SFO screeners processed 65% more passengers per screener than did their counterparts at LAX. ThatÂ’s not a typo: 65%. SFO screeners receive the same wages and benefits as those hired and managed by the TSA, and SFO uses virtually identical procedures and equipment. The difference is that the private contractor in San Francisco has no sense of entitlement or feeling of permanency. Competition works. There is far less turnover of screeners at SFO, and the contractor saves money by using part-timers (all fully trained, of course) to meet peak periods rather than keeping full-timers waiting around for periodic surges."

This is what happened to our son (going back to his duty station):
Goes through nude scanner. Full-body pat-down. Hands tested for explosive residue.
At the gate they announced military could board next. We hugged and kissed him good-bye, and two TSA thugs pulled him aside for one final humiliating pat-down (he was in shorts and tee shirt) and one last check inside his Marine Corps backpack (with a change of clothes and his iPad).
I've also been singled out for the explosive residue test on my hands.
My husband never has to deal with any hassle.

They are hilarious in the winter, particularly in Anchorage. They just step over fences and wander where ever they feel like going. One stepped over a fence onto the hood of our neighbor's car, and pretty well ruined the engine block. And you sure don't want to hit one on the highway. The feet come right up and through the windshield. Nasty way to die. And the moose sometimes just walk away.

The last straw was a trip where I had on a light cardigan over a strappy camisole...the screener demanded that I remove my "coat." Me: "This is not a coat. It is a shirt that happens to have buttons down the front. A cardigan." Him: "I can't let you through unless you remove it and put it on the conveyer." Honestly, you could barely tell I had a camisole under the cardigan because I had buttoned it up nearly to the top. So when I was forced to unbutton it and take it off, it looked like I was removing everything above the waist. And the camisole was thin, so I'm sure you could see a lot of bra and my straps were visible. As someone who tries to dress modestly in public, this was aggravating and embarrassing.
I'm sure the screener loved watching me strip off my cardigan, and loved that he got to tell me to do so.
So, husband is on board with driving. Road trips together have been fun and involved getting to eat lots of different, tasty noms in various parts of the country. I don't miss the airport hassle one bit, especially men who aren't my husband demanding I remove articles of clothing.

I had a hell trip home from work about two years ago. I had an hour and a half commute, all freeway. Just outside of town, the freeway was closed due to a semi blocking the road. It had hit ice and went sideways. Sat there for two hours while they cleared it, as they put the sign up about the road being closed AFTER the last exit in town. Then got to drive home on freezing rain and snow. It turns out old cop cars are not that good in ice. I went off the road twice. Fortunately, didn't get hurt but it took about five hours to get home. I didn't go to work the next day.
The good news is, I told the owner of the company about it. And they let me work from home now, so I've only had to drive in twice this year. For your trip, I'd recommend the usual warm clothes, food, beverages, etc. Light sticks are a good addition, as well as something to charge your cell phone with. I had a down sleeping bag in my car, which did come in handy.
