10 Dear John McCain, Please take your air strikes against Syria and stick them up your ass ... you know, that place where your head is currently situated. We, the people forced to vote for your dumb ass last cycle, want no part of Syria's troubles. We don't really care how many of those people kill each other, since they all hate us anyway and will stab us in the back at the first opportunity. Go back to Arizona and play golf and just stay out of everything else. Thank you.

12 Cali voted for a failure rerun with Brown in 2010. Staying there as a productive citizen is just propping up a failing system. OTOH thank you for putting off their collapse while Barry O would shift payments to the rest of us. Perhaps a future Pres and congress will allow the bitter medicine to be given to save the country.

32 21: Friday thread before ONT. I think it was an AB thread. Basically because of being hit by loss of AB, SoS went up to Che shirt in lunch area and requested he not wear the shirt to work anymore because SoS found it offensive since Che was a murderous thug. Che shirt ran to HR, SoS was brought in and did not back down but made the company own their PC policies. Then 2nd shift supervisor emailed group which includes SoS because he sometimes rotates shifts and said SoS had gone to HR about the matter and SoS emailed the group back with the facts and gave a non work email if anyone wanted to discuss the matter farther. Its like a mini OKeeefe and Andrew ploy (turn Alinsky on the leftards and make THEM live up to their own rules) but SoS only started out to speak his mind but is seeing it through.

Um... isn't that kind of what being a "lesbian" means?   Otherwise wouldn't the woman in question be considered "bisexual?"

I'm pretty sure what's her name -- the     tall skinny one from Sex in the City      who doesn't have a horse face      and always reminds me of Olive Oyl      ---   recently got in trouble for saying essentially this exact same thing.   Cuz, you see, being gay isn't a CHOICE.  It's GENETIC.  Therefore implying that there is any kind of CHOICE involved in     who you fancy from a sexual perspective means that you are undermining the LGBTQRSBBQ message, and must be publically shamed.

Where they failed badly is in ignoring the political persuasion and connections of the managements of these companies, which is what this is really all about. But as a baby step toward the light of doom - not bad.

The book reviews on "The Rent is Too High" at the sidebar are absolutely side-splitting.  Wrote my own.  Which Moron/Ette wrote this review?

"I'll admit, I'm usually a fan of a Yglesias product - the smooth sensual sounds of Julio's ballads and Enrique's latin dance beats are both highly prominent in my ipod rotation. But this book is just - awful. So what is this guy, like the porcine Cooper Manning of the Yglesias family? Is the rent really "too damn high?" I asked a bunch of different people after reading this book, and all their rent payments were different. I think this guy needs to do some research before writing a book about rent."

The sad thing is, it's not even possible to say whether air strikes are a good idea or not.  I mean, with this administration there is no way for the rest of us to be assured there would be a purpose to them.  Could they be the right call at this time?  Maybe, but probably not.

And it certainly doesn't help to have the senile old coot from Arizona wake up from his nap and declare "Air Strikes!" as if he's thought it through and decided this was the best course of action.

59 >>I mean, I know it's "Queer", but what specific behavior does it map to?

Queer, roughly, is "not straight."  (Does it include polyamory? Which is a stupid word, Greek prefix and Latin suffix. Not sure.)

It can also be "questioning"--like same-sex pr0n but not ready to touch one in meatspace, that sort of thing.

I still think it's sad they refuse to celebrate the diversity and include F and V.

(I read "The Ethical Slut" once--the guy who lent it to me ended up in a monogamous marriage to a woman shortly thereafter, lol--and it seems that demanding Paul pay for your condoms so you can fluke Peter, while Paul never gets any, is unethical.  Don't know why it's different when Paul is "total strangers" or "Jesuit school" instead of "stupid doormat guy you met at school."  But anyway.)

Posted by: HeatherRadish at March 06, 2012 07:18 AM (ZKzrr)

60 #55 The Q in LGBTQ is NOT "queer," it's "questioning," meaning you're a kid who is getting bombarded with gay stuff and and hit on by homos so you wonder if you might be, so they claim you as a victim. Also if they can add "questioning" they can count more people in their minority category so they can mau-mau the rest of us into giving them more stuff.

65 Well, the Doom chronicles were informative but I always thought they were counter-productive in that they reinforced our already high apprehension of how bad the economy could still get.

Granted if it's going to get bad then not talking about it won't make it better but there was NEVER any positive news and NEVER any comments or essays on what could be done to mitigate the situation. Nor any feeling of sympathy to those caught up in the effects of a situation beyond their control.

Since they were so relentlessly depressing, I avoided reading them.

I already knew/know how bad the economy is as I've been under/un employed for 4 years.

Monty also held certain opinions about who, what and how the economic problems derived from and that anyone who was caught up by the downturn was somehow responsible for their plight.
I always got the impression that Monty thought everyone should've seen this coming or been prepared regardless. Said like a guy who's never made a mistake or misjudged the signs.

Blaming the victim never does anyone any good and it certainly aroused some strong feelings here which was not productive.

The posts were well organized but as I said they left off the "and here's the answer" or "here's what YOU can do to help yourself" or "here's what other people are doing".

I think Monty had never yet met a crisis that was beyond his control and his lack of understanding was apparent. This too grated on my nerves.

Contrary to popular belief; hard work and perseverance do not guarantee one success or survival.

Luck and circumstance play more of a role than most "self-made men/women" want to admit.

I would welcome the Doom Chronicles back if done on a once a month or bi weekly basis. Every week and sometimes more is too much when it's only one sided.
