And when the latest round of Pigford money runs out that will be it.  The CBC had to ram it through in the 2008 lame duck session.  That will not happen again.

Lots of encouraging info in that Ohio poll ... I like this quote ...

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus just held an impromptu press gaggle and said, “We’re going to outspend the DNC 10-to-1 for the next six weeks.” Asked about polls showing Romney-Ryan trailing in Ohio, Priebus said “we’re within a field goal and we’re going to crush [the Democrats] on the ground.”

Crush them ... now that's some Honey Badger stuff right there ...

82 The ski-ramp was developed by the British for the Harriers.  STO with ski-ramp = greater payload for combat.  And Harriers need all the help they can when it comes to payload.

For fledgling carrier navies like Russia and the PRC, it allows them to deploy naval aviation without learning about steam powered catapults and the fine art of what pressure to launch an Su-27 without ripping the landing gear out.

85 The speech Romney just gave was an intelligent (even if you don't like everything he said) speech and sounded like a president should. None of that up/down preacher style TFG uses. None of the the "I am the black Jesus (I think he doesn't really like the Jesus competition .. just sayin) and Romney is someone I could listen to on television instead of just hitting the mute button when TFG come on. I know not many people probably watched the speech but in comparison it was so much more adult and there is no doubt in my mind he knows business. TFG is qualified to be the produce seller on the street corner Romney mentioned in the speech and that is all TFG is qualified to do business-wise. GOTV!!!!

88 Reposted: 154 Morning' morons. I am angry and disappointed this morning! Yesterday was a special election in my town for one of five selectmen. The republican candidate is well liked and worked very hard to secure the seat, and many of us put a lot of work in on his behalf. Despite being a special election and falling on a Monday, turnout here in town was a little more than double the state and federal primary two weeks ago- over 11%. We had our GOTV efforts in place for the day. In my opinion, our operation was superior to either of the others, and coupled with our party ID advantage we were confident. Indeed, watching the voter count from the various precincts in town, we were pretty sure we were ahead all day long. As it turns out, we lost it 51-49. Less than 40 votes separated the two candidates over 1300 votes. The democrat, despite being known as a pain in the ass at town meetings, had some under the radar municipal union support. They pulled it out and beat our man. And I'm angry about it. So, fuck you, union machine. I guarandamntee that at every election going forward from dog catcher on up, I'll be utilizing every GOTV trick I know, including having a dedicated voter counter at every precinct and a phone room set up to make the calls to every goddamned voter on election day. I will personally drive the bus to the polls if I have to. What we did wrong: 1) the campaign had us doing stand outs on election day. Visibility was not a problem. There were more yard signs for our guy than for any candidate at any level, our opponent, and Romney and Obama included. 2) we made one phone call to every good voter; we didn't do follow-ups and we didn't reach out to light-voting Rs or R-leaning unenrolleds. 3) we depended on machine counts for ballots rather than identifying individual voters who did and did not show up. 4) we had not GOTV mobilization on elections day- counters, runners, callers and drivers. It was a shitty little town election, and because the campaign decided to go with regular republican shitty tactics, we have a shitty union hack as selectman instead of a responsible, well-liked and experienced conservative. These were not my calls to make. But you can be damn sure that if they were, we wouldn't be rubbing our asses after a close that should never have happened.

105 It is my understanding that during the first debate between “Barack Obama” and Senator McCain, the Obama campaign was successful in implementing a planned question and answer segment within the debate format. By that I mean to say they cheated. This rumor first came to my attention approximately three days prior to the debate. There were communications, plural not singular, between an operative from the Obama campaign and an associate or associates for that first televised presidential debate in 2008. The Obama campaign wanted to make certain of a very particular question and answer segment in relation to the economic conditions of that time and the still ongoing attempts by the Bush campaign to deal with those challenges. This segment would then finalize the view of McCain’s incompetence and “Barack Obama’s” own brilliance. There was to be a line used by the man calling himself Obama, “orgy of deficits” that would pin Senator McCain to the Bush administration, which of course was at that time reviled by most of the electorate. The timing of this line’s use was to be signaled by the moderator himself to candidate Obama. I did not watch that first debate in 2008. I have not verified this well sourced rumor. I simply recall now what was told to me then with the growing concern a similar attempt will be made by the Obama administration yet again during this first debate to inflict harm to Mitt Romney as they did so to John McCain.

It should be simple enough for you to go back and find the use of that line by Obama from 2008. From there, I would urge you to ask our mutual friend about it. Ask them who among the Obama operatives of 2008 would be responsible for prepping the media for future appearances by the then-Democratic candidate? Did such a thing occur – outright collusion between the Obama campaign and the architects of that first presidential debate in 2008? And how heavy the hearts of those responsible for orchestrating such a thing if they now look back upon Obama’s victory as such a dangerous mistake for America.

109 Here’s what Obama said to John McCain during the first presidential debate in 2008: “This orgy of spending and enormous deficits you voted for almost all of his [Bush’s] budgets. So to stand here and after eight years and say that you're going to lead on controlling spending and, you know, balancing our tax cuts so that they help middle class families when over the last eight years that hasn't happened I think just is, you know, kind of hard to swallow.” Obama conveniently left out the Democrat impact on the budget after the Party took Congress in 2006.

You should look at the voter registration roles in places like Iowa and Florida where again Republicans are way up and Dems are way down. But you don't. You keep saying the same dumb shit over and over and over because you ARE a dumb shit. Kiss my hairy brown starfish.

Romney:  The economy is in shambles real unemployment is at 20%.

Moderator: Mr Romney how can a Mormon be President?

Romney:  Obama has ruled like an Egyptian Pharaoh.  So let be written so let it be done. The law is meaningless to him.

191 Regarding that Ohio poll it's not only that they obviously and grossly oversampled Democrats. That's merely the most egregious slant to the poll. They also did the following: (1) they oversampled the 18-29 age demographic at least by 1-2 points, (2) they undersampled the age 40-49 demographic at least by 2 points; (3) they undersampled the overall white demographic by around 3 points (although they might also have slightly undersampled the black demographic too); (4) they conducted the poll to a large extent on a Friday evening and then finished the sampling on a Saturday. Later on in the data they suggest Gary Johnson in a three-way contest with over 10% support, which obviously is absurd (he'd struggle mightily to clear 1% in real life). But that jibes with their sampling methodology, which included significant canvassing over a weekend and oversampling of younger people. Yet despite all that they only could come up with a headline figure of Obama + 1. Had they done even D+5 and simply played it straight with respect to age groups Romney would have been reported to be ahead by in excess of the MOE, despite the weekend component of the poll. But of course we can't have that. Doesn't fit the narrative. Doesn't advance the agenda of encouraging Dems to vote and suppressing conservative turnout.

He is skipping the private meetings with key allies that a U.S. president typically schedules when the whole international community comes to New York. The president will spend only 24 hours in New York in total this time, and he spent some of it Monday to appear on "The View," giving a talk show interview intended to sell his election pitch to a big TV audience.

Love it....Ohio with Plus 10 Dem Sample....up 1 and the dates are now outside of the Boca Fund Raiser....Plus 10 in OHIO....BS and will never happen...after reading the story of Pollsters teaming with Dems to suppress GOP all bets are off...Using 1960 numbers for GOP Turnout is insulting!

Jim Geraghty had the registration numbers for Florida, NC, Colorado, Nevada and Penn...all have Dems down from 2008 and GOP up since 2008...and those numbers were as of last week.  Check out over at NRO...Campaign Spot.

Pollsters crying because they are being called out and right fully so.  Check the swing state registrations YOURSELVES...the DEMS are down in each of the swing states....GOP is up!!  Pollsters know what they are doing and how they are doing it....Give Obama the IMAGE of Winning...as the story unfolds we are seeing through Hard Numbers that is BS....

Ras today with Swing State....Take Out Penn and Michigan and Romney and Obama are tied totally....I also see that Ras Swing State Polling is a 7day average not a 3 day like Presidential Tracking Daily.  So look at the 7 day and the 17th, 18th and 19th, which were bad for Mitt because of the MSM narrative over the 47 percent comment are half of the Swing State Polling Days...Take the 17th and 18th out by Thursday and the Swing State Polling with Ras will be tied...I will guarantee it...Go look how he does the 1,300 Voters over 7 days and do the dates.  And then Take out MI and PA in Ras and Bam....Obama is not at 47 percent in Swing State.  And Pittsburg Tribune has New Poll out in PA with 47/45 Obama up only 2 in PA!!!!!!

Mason/Dixon....48/47 Florida...Obama with Over Plus 4 Dem sample....not 2010 (Even) and 2008 Dems Plus 3...and according to registrations DEMS are down in Florida and GOP is up as of this week!!  Very interesting indeed!

Check out Instapundit on that New Ohio Poll and listen to Reince from GOP Chairman....RNC will outspend the DNC 10 to 1 over the next 6 weeks!!  And they have massive GOTV (GROUND GAME!!)  I knew Ralph Reed was bought in for a reason!!  He is the man for the GOTV!!

240 I was thinking that the MFM saying that Romney is a failed candidate when it is tied is actually a stunning admission. The presumption is that things are so bad, this President should be 15 points down. Which is interesting that they realize that.

241 Afghan security forces, our supposed allies, are slaughtering American troops. Thirty-three soldiers have been killed by “green on blue” attacks this year alone. The situation is so bad that the training of Afghan forces has been temporarily suspended. How has the Pentagon responded? By blaming our troops. Top officials believe culturally offensive behavior is the motivation behind the killings, so it’s stepped up Islamic sensitivity training for our troops. It's a fine line between having your doubts about a candidate and providing better talking points to the Democrats than they already have or sounding like you're a concern troll.  Far better for the MSM to simply quote a Peggy Noonan than to come up with something.

I was wrong.  Obama's defense of free speech was less half assed than I thought it would be.  Now let's see how State handles all the OIC efforts to criminalize blasphemy, defamation of religions, or what is it now?, denigration of religions.  It's one thing to say "freedom" in the speech, another to actually stop moving in the direction of sharia blasphemy laws.

Really?  We accept that other countries can imprison people who speak against their leaders?  How is that a defense of free speech?

I missed it because of Obama's usual droning tone of lecturing everyone on how THEY should behave,  but the good old Stache caught it,  and said it was a badthing.

Also said the speech was loaded with false equivalencies.

Well first I would mock their spelling.  In the kind condescending way.  "Deary its spelled Hiroshima, bless your heart."

Then there is the history lecture approach.  Like the Muslims working at the WTC who were among the dead.  Or that Japan attacked first.  Japanese fanaticism, kamikazes and expecting children armed with pointy sticks to attack Americans, caused the bombs to be dropped.  And if your jihadi friends keep wishing for death, more bottled sunshine can be delivered so they better learn from history.  Medina delenda est would only be the start.

THIS.  This is why   I have no problem calling Islam a cult rather than a religion.  There is NOTHING in Islam that encourages self-reflection    or empathy.   It is a set of strict rules that you must adhere to, and there is no leniency.   People are viewed as static objects, not rational, thoughtful individuals.   Men cannot possibly control their urges, and women are all     designed to tempt men to sin, so since that behavior can't be changed, then it must be road-blocked    or given allowance where necessary (like the men having sex with their dead wives).   It's disgusting.

Name    another     contemporary    religion    that views its adherents as    wooden figures    with no personal agency;    no ability to choose between a moral right and a moral wrong.         I can't think of a single one.

This,  IMHO, is the basis for all the stuff in islam that's wrong. It appeals to the intellectually weak: you literally "submit" to a stronger intimidating power. Notice how many otherwise normally-appearing people convert? And when  they do, they insult their families   by adopting some made-up Al-Name? Dave, it came back after being spectacularly wrong in 2010. It came back after being spectacularly wrong about the Walker recall. It's here now doing the same exact lame schtick. And I'm sure it will be back on November 8th telling us how he called the Romney win all the way.

Do you have a valid criticism in there somewhere or are you still stuck in the 13-year old boy macho posturing stage of development?

Wait. I already know the answer. Never mind.

409 Anna, I had an idea for a story. Imagine ghosts are not only real, but some handwavium tech allows us to speak to them...and the first thing they demand is political represention. The Constitution doesn't say anything about having to be alive. Imagine the intel implications of ghosts  being the fly on the wall anywhere.

"If anything is being celebrated it's the music," she said. "It is what it is. I understand people look at something and choose how to interpret that and I'm just very sorry that it wasn't looked at as just a history lesson."

Besides, she explained, "in 2008 we did an entire show on freedom."

I chuckled at her reasoning. But it really shows what happens when the horrors of communism are not taught in schools. This woman is most likely not a leftist, just ignorant.

OK, so there's that.   Almost an admission there might be something important going on in Syria.   So do China and Russia, to name two.  As well as some of our allies in Iraq, Lebanese militias, and minority restive Shia populations everywhere.

Speaking of France, it's the laboratory of our future.

They just banned "husband" and "wife" from legal  considerations  in order  to better  accomodate  gay  adoption  and  so  on.

Meanwhile,  their  Muslim  population  approaches  20%.

So where will the Islamic right to execute gays and  end and the gay right to adopt their children begin?   It's  going  to  be  an  interesting  legal  debate.

419 That Pigford story should be big news.  It's a blatantly corrupt attempt to buy hispanic and female votes with more government hand-outs/bribes, wrapped up in a shiny "new era of civil rights" package.

425 I'm so confused. Which thread is the real one and which one is the cheap imitation knockoff? Romney in the debates: They've got to know the arena is rigged. Could it be any worse than the NAACP, though? He mostly got applause there. He's willing to meet this stuff head-on, it seems. Into the lion's den, with the Lord beside you! 60 Minutes! The View! Anything but Letterman! By golly, I think I'm actually starting to warm up to Romney a bit. OTOH, If Romney skipped the debates, and TFSCoaMF was forced to debate Romney's empty chair, my money would be on the empty chair for teh winz.

Here's a point - have you read any of the responses on this blog, YPLOCHC, and seen the level of discourse OTHER THAN macho 13-year old posturning, as you call it?

Second point:  Obama is smarter, more competent, better able, infinitely more articulate than his 8-year predecessor.  Hell, half the crowd on this blog, YPLOCHC, is more articulate than Dubya, and might even be more well read.  I repeat:  The Bible.  The motherfucking Bible, of all things.

If this communal load of horse cum was any more disingenuous, it would implode.  I guess there's time for that -- after November, when the gurgling of the throats from this blog will rise in unison and take one mighty "Gulp!"

now, please, go and fuck yourselves.

427 dump:

Ann Coulter on Laura Ingraham this morning just said that "We DO still owe black Americans of slavery descent something in America."

White guilt in the GOP?

It doesn't apply unless it does, perhaps on individual case basis, and were the country club set to represent reconstructionist carpetbaggers, sharing the wealth. But by Coolidge's administration, there was certainly no white guilt in the small government Republican Party.

The Republican Party of Martin Luther King, Jr. did not preach white guilt. Rather, equal opportunity based upon the quality of a person's character. Why should white guilt be a plank in the 2012 POTUS GOP campaign platform now, 50 years later? Unless the GOP today ain't what it was 50 years ago...

Dubya is smarter?  Right?  That's your official position?  George W. Bush possesses MORE intelligence, articulation and compentency -- Why?  cuz he let Cheney and the Libertardians and Republicunt Fringe run the show?  That's smarter, in your opinion?  Really?  Smarter?

Dubya couldn't find Obama -- couldn't find his ass with both hands and a map.

432 Hey, Obama, you lazy bitch, the future belongs to people who sign the fucking continuing appropriations bill the Senate passed on Saturday. I want to be employed Monday, and since GMAC fucked me on that mortgage fix you made such a big deal about, my bills ain't getting any smaller. So since I'm helping pay for your fucking house, sign a piece of paper and try to pretend you're still working your day job. Fuck you.
