— andy New RNC ad below the fold ... just in time for July 4th.
Or, as John Roberts calls it, April 15th.
Four years ago today at a campaign event, Candidate Obama said that adding $4 trillion to the debt was "irresponsible" and "unpatriotic." During his three years in office the "undisputed debt king" has added over $5 trillion to the national debt and has racked up the largest deficits in U.S. history.

Meh. This is nice and all, but we've been fear-mongered about the debt since the 80's and before. I doubt it has the same impact it once did on Joe Sixpack. This isn't going to win the election. Especially since no one believes the Republicans will do jack to fix anything. Regardless, once a number gets over a certain level, the human mind can't handle it. It just becomes a "big number." 1 trillion, 5 trillion, 100 trillion - it's all the same in psychological terms.
I'd be a lot happier to see ads about things people are concerned with in day to day life. We have about a thousand ways to bash this current administration in terms of jobs, for example. And energy prices. And food prices. Bash him on that stuff! If we just pointed out the various ways this traitor hurts us in our day to day lives we'd already have his balls in a vice.

VERY good ad. My only criticism is that the giggling Chucklenuts Barry image did not comport with the serious tone of the ad. To me, it implied he's simply detached or incompetent.
I recommend they replace it with one of the many Mussolini Chin-Thrust Barry images out there. That would drive home the impression that he's purposely driving the deficits. He's PRESIDING over them.

Sure, during the first two years the Dems owned all of it and did the bidding of Obama, but the House is now Republican and has been spending away as well.
And they have NOT done what they said they would do in partial budgets and take it or leave it.
This debt shit could be a two-edged sword.

...and he's a SCOAMF so I no longer care or believe anything the liar says.
----------
I never did.
I don't think I ever did either. Honestly with 20/20 hindsite I've looked at the characture of the candidates and been batting 1000% ever since I was old enough to vote.
I spotted Dick Nixon as untrustworthy as soon as he was elected.
I had Jimmy Cahter figured out when he campaigned at my college on his intention to "put LUV back in tha guvahmint".
I loved Ronald Reagan BEFORE he was nominated.
I had GHWBush spotted as simply a continuation of the Reagan administration and not capable of much more. May be my worst opinion. He did well in Desert Storm right up until he let the liberals talk him out of completing the mission and marching into Bagdad and taking out Saddam.
Slick Willy smelled of snake oil in the party debates. I said before he was elected that if he got in he'd be the most scandle ridden administration in history.
Spotted GWBush in the primaries as the best of the field and questioned if he was up to the political aspects of consensis building. PRAYED he was elected over Gore as the only alternative but not so much thrilled about him as an individual. Since then, I like him and most of the choices he made with the exception of failing to confront the media on their lies and spin.
I spotted the SCOAMF in the democratic primary debates and new immediately that he was a media creation and a totally hollow characture but that he was also inevitable. The media had been building him up and Bashing Bush for 9 years leading up to his ascendancy. It really didn't matter who the right ran against him because they would be running against a stacked deck including virtually ALL the mainstream media.
With that record, you wouldn't like to know what I think of Romney as an individual or what his administration will be like. He's the only alternative we're being offered to death by socialism. But it's hard to get excited about the prospects being offered of "a little less death" as opposed to the utter and complete destruction of America, her assets and history.

We will get rid of Obama, the problem is how do we roll back all of this "progress" that has been given to us by FDR, LBJ, Bush, and Obama? The only thing I've seen that actually rolled things back a little has been the welfare reforms in the 90s.
I'm getting tired of being depressed. *sigh*

Nobody sees TV ads anymore either. My understanding is they're already hitting certain markets with TV and Radio ads, but we're in the era of viral marketing (meaning: send it to people if you want them to see it) and nothing but direct/personal contact is going to be guaranteed to get to anyone.

A lot of people were saying that yesterday but after reviewing all of what he said I don't think he is trying to weasel out.
He reaffirmed that he would push for repeal, he only stated that it would be a tough road and that he would use reconciliation. It will be a tough road, that is true.

In a move unprecedented in American history, the Obama Administration quietly banned the re-importation of nearly 600,000 American made M1 Carbine rifles.
And I've just discovered Obama may be blocking as many 300,000 1911 Colts too!
That's nearly one million pieces of American history denied to the American people.
The M1 rifle, developed in the late 1930's, carried the United States through World War II seeing action in every major battle. General Patton at the time called the M1 "the greatest battle implement ever devised."
The rifle is largely credited with giving American soldiers the advantage and securing victory for the allies.
During the Korean War, nearly one million of these rifles were brought to South Korea and left with the South Korean government afterward. Now, South Korea wants to give American gun collectors the chance to get their hands on this unique piece of history.
A piece of American history that Barack Obama would like to see go down the memory hole. After World War II, the United States government sent millions of these rifles overseas to our allies and friends.
That includes 950,000 M1 Garands, 1.2 million M1 Carbines, and 300,000 1911 Pistols.
Over the past 50 years, many of the countries we lent them to returned them to America to be bought and sold by firearms collectors.
This is nothing new.
On top of banning American citizens from owning these historic firearms, Obama's State Department is arranging for the destruction of nearly one million of them -- ironically, at a time of ballooning federal deficits.
What a SCFoaMF!

You don't say, "Oh, we're unlikely to win," if you think you're going to win- it demoralizes your side and energizes the opposition.

One Scott Brown ad is repeated nearly as often. It's a dipshit ad, but then Brown is a dipshit, if marginally better than Lizzie "Ugh" Warren.

Just wait till O'Dogeater starts running ads warning all those new "clients" on food stamps that the mean old republicans will take away their free food.
Illinois is not a swing state and the ads are running non-stop to get old people to sign up for food stamps, going after the one demographic left who might have some shame at taking government cheese.
And somehow the government has arranged for farmers markets to take food stamps, and if you use food stamps at a farmers market you get "food stamp bucks" to buy twice as much stuff! The government is using our (borrowed) money to sell us all into debt slavery forever.

Yeah, I saw what he said and it was very very different from what I thought given the reactions. I read it as more "this is going to be hard so we need all the votes in the Senate we can get" than "this is going to be hard so we're going to take our ball and go home". As far as discouraging, maybe I'm being a Pollyanna but, again, I took it as more it'll be hard so we need to go out and get people elected.
That being said, there is ample, nah, overwhelming evidence that the Senate Republicans will dork us in the squeakhole sans lube.

The first casualty of any political campaign is the truth. In this one, as with all the others, we'll never hear it from teh Pubbies. And there's a lot of it to ignore: a real UE rate of around 11%, real inflation of about 5%, the deficit, gas prices are still too damned high, grocery prices through the roof, regulations keeping the economy down, teh SCOAMF bypassing Congress to do as he damn well pleases, the list is as long as your arm.
But what do we hear from teh Pubbies? Milquetoast platitudes that still try to sound nice. Vic, I got that percentage from the good folks who counted the workforce participation figures from the beginning of His Immaculation in '09, as opposed to the anemic number they use today. And the inflation rate is going by the old method that counts things we actually have to purchase like gasoline and groceries.
If we can ever regain control of our government, we should demand that they realistically calculate the numbers they use based on real-world metrics, not massage them to make themselves look good. I'm not very optimistic of that ever happening, tho'.

I love the sidebar article from JWF about Obama's latest letter of the week, from a woman purportedly named "Julia" (HAH!). My favorite part? She's going on and on about how in 2008 she couldn't find a job, and now she's in the process of getting an SBA loan to expand her coffee shop business. Then she signs off:
All the best,
Julia, California
...
*BURSTS INTO HYSTERICAL LAUGHTER*
Yeah, okay. As if the letter wasn't stupid enough, the fact that we're supposed to buy this person's small business is thriving in CALIFORNIA? Pull the other one, mate, it's got bells on.

Why?
Because this ad is made for, made by and approved by a whole bucket of fish who live in, around and on DC--they have no idea what is going on out in the real world.

Scranton's police, fire and Department of Public Works unions Monday filed a lawsuit to overturn Mayor Chris Doherty's unilateral slashing of their salaries to minimum wage.
The unions - International Association of Firefighters Local 60, the Fraternal Order of Police E.B. Jermyn Lodge 2 and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local Lodge 2305 - are seeking an injunction against the mayor to prohibit him from cutting pay to the federal minimum of $7.25 an hour.
The city has been run by Democrats since forever.

>>The Algonquin Round Table was a celebrated group of New York City writers, critics, actors and wits. Gathering initially as part of a practical joke, members of "The Vicious Circle", as they dubbed themselves, met for lunch each day at the Algonquin Hotel from 1919 until roughly 1929. At these luncheons they engaged in wisecracks, wordplay and witticisms that, through the newspaper columns of Round Table members, including Brian Dennehy, were disseminated across the country.

The best way I can explain moral authority is to use an example. Do you read comics? If so, I point to exhibit A or moral authority, Captain America.
Captain America would always do the right thing, and by doing so, he inspired his fellow heroes to follow his example. Even though a mere mortal with powers far surpassed by most other superheroes, he LED the Avengers, which included powerhouses such as Hulk and even gods in Hercules and Thor. They all believed in the goodness of Captain America.
The antithesis to Captain America would be Frank Castle, aka Punisher. He also went after bad guys, just as zealously as other heroes. But he had no moral compunctions, for him, the ends justified the means. And while he struck fear in the thugs of the world, he never shone light in the cities he staked out. Citizens feared him just as much as the criminals he fought.
So in conclusion, moral authority is what Captain America represents. It's something that President Obama is bringing back to our great nation

The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded.
Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific technological elite.
It is the task of statesmanship to mold, to balance, and to integrate these and other forces, new and old, within the principles of our democratic system -- ever aiming toward the supreme goals of our free society.Military-Industrial Complex Speech, Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1961

Bingo!
People fuss too much over their ribs.
By the way, I tried a little twist on mine a few weeks ago. My standard dry rub is a bit spicy, and we were having kids over, so I sprinkled a little bit of brown sugar on the ribs before cooking. It glazed nicely and added a sweet component that was really good, even for the adults.

The outages affected companies such as Netflix and Pinterest, not the government. But several federal agencies have moved e-mail and other services to cloud servers, which are housed at remote data centers and typically managed by technology companies such as Amazon or Google.
The House subcommittee on commerce, manufacturing and trade is studying the risks of such moves and hopes to schedule a hearing on the matter ahead of the August congressional recess.
“Last week’s powerful thunderstorms, along with the massive disruptions they caused, exposed some of the vulnerabilities of cloud computing,” said the panel’s chairman, Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R-Calif.), in a statement. “But I also believe the problems extend way beyond consumer convenience and customer service. There are some serious privacy issues which we need to look at as well.”

Last month, the economy created just 80,000 jobs. That's just not good enough, working out to fewer than a million jobs a year when we would need about that many jobs per month to get back to full employment by year end.
Counting from his first full month as president, the economy under Obama has performed poorly. Only GW Bush, with an average monthly job loss of 25,000 the same number of months into his presidency did worse than Obama's loss of 12,000.
Ever heard that retarded saying “SCOAMF” Can’t tell you what it means, look it up. I said people if they are tired of hearing this crap. Turns out they aren’t, because they never heard. One a certain group of people never head the disrespectful trope. Classy, Respectful, Intelligent People. Ob’s such a Miserable Failure he grad Harvard Law and passed his bars and practiced law and beat the “war hero,” John McCain & Simple Sarah. Got Bin Laden. The white supremacists of the GOP Base reek of envy and desperation.
Obama evil? You mean after Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, Josef Stalin, Osama Bin Laden, Kim Jong-il (along with father and son)? Or on the local front Ted Bundy, Dennis Rader (BTK killer), John Wayne Gacy, Timothy McVeigh et al? Then no, President Obama is neither evil nor wicked. He has neither killed, maimed or intentionally harmed another human being insofar as is known
