This makes me think of the many tradegies that, for whatever reason, a simple, logical ROE or physical apparatus could have prevented, and is now in place as a reactive decision instead of a proactive decision. Hindsight is 20/20 as they say but some of the solutions seemed logical or the absence of them seemed, derelict.

Okay to refuel in Yemen but why would you let anyone get near you when you are doing it? I would have thought having that barrier that others could not cross would be standard operating procedure when operating in hostile territory. It is now.
Same with Beruit. We were aware of the threats of a bombing but we failed to erect simple barricades to stop it. Barricades which are now standard.
These are things that should have been anticipated and the solutions to prevent were neither complicated or costly.

Problem was the Marine guards weapons were unloaded, and by the time they were able to load they were shooting at the trucks back...

You are correct regard to the ROE which also contributed but as I understood it that the lack of barricades in proximity to the barracks allowed the truck to get close enough to do the damage it did. I think the investigation cited the same and issued some reprimands. Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly.

Next cycle we're going to take out Ed Pacheco and maybe get two more Rep seats. I'm working with candidates right now who are poised to take some House districts in Bristol County and its surrounding area.
I've got a team and a plan. We need money, but we're working on that, too.
The MA-4 will be the Republican heartland in ten years, I'm certain of it.
