War On Women: Obama White House Pays Women 16% Less Than Men

But they're doing different work. The men are doing the "thinking work," and the women are doing the, you know, "helping the men do the thinking work."

So it's all good, bro.

I just read this piece noting, as we know, that Hilary Rosen's firm represents Sandra Fluke. She's a managing partner there, along with former White House communications director Anita Dunn. (I inaccurately called Dunn a "top adviser" earlier.)

That article reminded me that Anita Dunn herself had accused Obama's White House of being a "hostile workplace" for women.

I forgot about the story, as the media, of course, ignored it after a smattering of mentions.

But here's an actual War on Women, as charged by one of Obama's own top-level female staffers.

And not just Dunn-- Christina Roemer also sounded a similar complaint, as did an unnamed female source.

Â“This place would be in court for a hostile workplace,Â” former White House communications director Anita Dunn is quoted as saying. Â“Because it actually fit all of the classic legal requirements for a genuinely hostile workplace to women.Â”

Â“I felt like a piece of meat,Â” Christina Romer, former head of the Council of Economic Advisers, said of one meeting in which Suskind writes she was Â“boxed outÂ” by Summers.
Dunn told Suskind that the problems began during the 2008 campaign. At one point she was viewing a television ad with other campaign officials and was shocked to see no women in the spot.
Â“There isnÂ’t a single woman in this ad,Â” Dunn said. Â“I was dumbfounded. It wasnÂ’t like they were being deliberately sexist. ItÂ’s just there was no one offering a female perspective.Â”
The ad was later reshot, with women included.
Â“The president has a real woman problem,Â” an unnamed high-ranking female official told Suskind. Â“ The idea of the boysÂ’ club being just Larry and Rahm isnÂ’t really fair. He [Obama] was just as responsible himself.Â”

This is coming from his own people.

I certainly am not trying to defend Obama and company but the Republicans need to stake out a positive position with evidence regarding why/how putting them in charge would be better for women. The whole "GOP War on Women" meme was itself a product of some serious damage control after the Administration miscalculated the level of opposition to the mandatory free contraceptives policy. They didn't even care if it "worked" as far as poll numbers with women, they just needed to change the subject ASAP and stop the pounding about the War on Religion.

This entire year has been a series of fuck-ups by the Obama Administration and campaign. They are showing every day how stupid and incompetent they are and how little they deserve another four years.

Though I have long thought Obama has "issues" about white women because of his relationship (and lack thereof) with his mother and his inner racial conflict (it was totally obvious in the way he talked about Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin in 200 , I don't think that is the reason for his policies. He is simply a Democratic hack who understands that feminists are a reliable Democratic voting bloc and Planned Parenthood is a ready source of money for Democrat campaigns.
