"We Can't Drill Our Way Out"
— Dave in Texas

Well, cept we can actually.

If we had an administration that would stop gettin in the way of it. Except we don't have one of those, we have an inept "under my plan, energy prices would necessarily skyrocket" administration.

Under his plan.

comparative-energy-concentrations.jpg

His plan. Make you pay more and shove bureaucrats in front of everything that could ease prices. Pay. You pay.

We all pay.

via Humpy girl chicka

also fuck coal. Be cold. And poorer. President Ladies Tee requires this of us all.

28 SOCIAL JUSTICE dictates that we stop producing power and get in touch with mother nature by living simply by not washing our hair or driving evil cars and eating organic arugala and stuff like that. Any electrical power we get should only be available at community power recharging stations for iPads and stuff. We must take all the power we are using now and give it to the victims of neo-colonial oppression in the 3rd world along with all of daddy's money because he is an anglo-normative oppressor, especially when he won't buy me the latest iPad and I have to do with the previous model! 63 The DUmmies are waiting 24 business hours for another indictment. While they await the Karl Rove Indictment promised by WILLIAM RIVERS PITT, they are also waiting 24 business hours for Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to be indicted as well. Both indictments were practically guaranteed by fired MSNBC host, David Shuster. The timing of Shuster's second indictment guarantee was notable...Just days before the June recall election. Of course, once the election was over, not a peep on this subject from Shuster nor anybody else...except for the DUmmies who continue to believe that their Great Pumpkin will finally, FINALLY arrive in just 24 business hours.

79 AGW is a theory which may or not be true and cause some discomfort for coastal human populations. The only FACT about co2 in the atmosphere is that it increases plant growth rates and decreases moisture requirements, just ask anyone with a greenhouse or an indoor pot growing operation. Any "green" interested in actual greenness of the planet would be pushing for more fossil fuel usage to return the co2 sequestered by millions of years of plants and animals and get us back to the biosphere optimum of 1400 ppm which has historically resulted in a lush and teeming biosphere. Obama is a complete SCOAMF of a green.

But if you were an average American who had a decent life four years ago, why would you want to vote for "fundamental change?"  Life in America is pretty sweet compared to anywhere else, anytime in history, period.

So "fundamental change" was going to be a change for the worse, and it has been.  So why are people blindly supporting him??????

Those ecotards are unable to mentally process the fact that poley bears have been up there for quite a long time, maybe several ice age cycles.  They'll be fine.  It gets my dander up when they mope and whine about species extinction, not quite aware that 99 percent of the species that ever existed are gone.  Their sentimentality, their hostility to change, their obstinate idiocy will kill us off long before pollution will.

88 If this is a vermin thread, I had a near mouse experience a couple nights back.

It's been hot here so I've been sleeping downstairs. The way this house works is that there is some sort of tunnel / shaft outside so that the portapotty cesspool, I mean basement can get some fresh air and light.

Anyway last Friday PM I was settling in for some Z's when I heard scrabbling outside. It was going on for awhile; eventually I turned on the light. Yep - there was a MOUSE at the base of the shaft, running around, trying to get into MY HOUSE through the basement window. I guess he'd jumped down here to get away from the rain we just had.

I checked outside yesterday to see if Mr Squeaky was still there; no trace. I assume he got into the walls, ate something inedible and died.

(I am sleeping UPstairs now.)

Watch the clip with Kirk Sorenson, he has been spearheading the Thorium movement.

I've been following this for a couple years, this is not pie in the sky or unobtanium energy tech.  This is the real deal to giving us true energy independence.  Cools stuff!

Zakaria asked Peña Nieto for his reaction on “punitive laws that allow the police to check whether or not people are from Mexico or whether they are U.S. citizens, the general atmosphere, the rhetoric you hear coming out of some parts of the Republican Party.” “Clearly, it seems to me that these are discriminatory laws that don’t recognize the contribution and the value of millions of immigrants, particularly from my country, who make enormous contributions to the United States’ economic development,” Peña Nieto said. “It’s clear to me that Mexico must facilitate conditions for greater economic development through structural reforms, energy reforms, treasury reform, labor reform, in order to generate jobs and greater opportunities in my country, so that immigration is a decision and not a necessity for Mexicans.”

155 @158 There is no energy crisis - it is a "political" crisis.  So much energy out there to be used, but it is being blocked.

I personally prefer Nukes over carbon based fuels - but nukes, even super safe and cost effective liquid salt reactors - are SCARY.  Thus no political will to move forward on developing this American technology.
