Welcome to the future thanks to Obama Care. Full time is now 30 hours/week, so... If you are not worth $6,000 /year for health insurance, you will only find part time jobs of 28 hours / week. Everyone will follow the Darden restaurants model.
And everyone just starting out will have 2 or 3 part time jobs, and STILL have NO Health Insurance.

I think subconsciously the liberals see a parallel between Sandusky and Obama. They would like to argue that the nation would be better off if we just forgot about all those times he raped the constitution.

I worked my way through college waitering. I worked about 36-40 hours a week. I barely made enough to survive, and that was when college tuition was 25% of what it is today. There is no way I could make it today if I could only work 28 hours at a job. Or have to juggle 2 or 3 jobs to make tuition and rent.
I half way expect my next engineering job will be part-time.

Stacey Dash is dealing with more KKKesque racist crap than any human being should have to deal with. Like Goodell getting grotesque death threats for stupid officiating in pro football, people suck I guess. Is that the takeaway?
It does seem the last acceptable refuge for overt old-school racism is what is directed at black conservatives, moderates, or anyone not fully on board with the racial grievance industry.

The writer, a member of the Administration writes about Obama replacing the bust of Winston Churchill with one of Jimmy Carter in his first days in the White House. Apparently Rahm had a fit. He describes this scene:
-------------------
“Seriously, though, the Carter tribute is not smart,” he said. “Axe will back me up on this, and so will the oppo guy.”
I nodded. Axelrod shrugged.
“It’s just an unnecessary complication,” Axelrod said. “It will just weird people out, you know?”
Obama and Jarrett made and held eye contact for a good five seconds. Both their faces were blank.
“Fine, we’ll lose the bust,” Obama said. “Oh, and also, we’re going to keep the prison at Gitmo open. Cool?”
Those words, delivered so casually, were my first real indication that the president might turn out to be slightly less than the person we had advertised during the campaign. But it would be much later before I figured out that the president actually had his reasons for making America look bad in the eyes of the world and disappointing his followers, and that keeping Gitmo open was just one small part of that master plan.

Vast numbers of companies are converting full-time employees to part-time employees because of Obamacare. By switching them to part-time you don't have to provide them with any insurance coverage.
Since they are not required to provide insurance does this also mean that they are off the hook for the Obamacare "no insurance" taxes? Imagine that, a new tax gets implemented and business figure out a way to get around it that eventually punishes those whom the law was supposedly written to help. And BTW, these actions only further the actual goal of Obamacare, which always was to destroy private insurance and make the government the sole provider. It was never about the however many million uninsured.

The notion that he's "switched to our side" is an interesting one, in that ANY Reasonoid would truly be on "our side" with regard to national security, terrorism, law enforcement, and other misc. issues. But from what I've seen, Welch appears to be a pretty typical Reason (which, let's face it, should actually rename itself "Snark" magazine) Libertarian, dutifully engaged with issues of anti-Statism, personal freedom (including the attendant drug permissibility), and civil liberties.

I would like to see a copy of that letter, but couldn't find a link in the article. I am assuming that when it says "Lutheran" churches, it is referring to the ELCA which is the commie wing of the Lutheran Church. Not to be confused with the Missouri Synod or Wisconsin Synod.

First time in Rome that a Pope would bless all those who speak Aramaic in the language that the Messiah Jesus/Joshua spoke. Pope John Paul II was constantly reaching out to the ecumenical Christian body of faithful, unlike previous popes, recognizing the legitimacy within their own existence of the Eastern Christian churches. Perhaps he didn't address them from St. Peter's Square with an Aramaic blessing. But he certainly included the Middle Eastern indigenous Christians in his many books and interviews.
When this Pope Benedict began his tenure, he attempted a Muslim outreach. Muslims, for all their "stuck in the past" modality have successfully revised their own history to fit within their 20th Century Marxist model of intolerance. They couldn't accept an olive branch if it was the only thing to grasp from over the cliff's edge.
"Unprecedented"? Given the 2012 ashes of the "Arab" Spring (Egyptians, Persians, Syrians et al. are not Arabs), their rebellions are not at all unprecedented, merely revisited with a vengeance. Democracy? pfft. Exchange one authoritarian system with the next conducting torture and mutilations, such as the crucifixions outside the Egyptian Presidential Palace last month. /Great job, US MFM Amanpour. Look what you've done throwing Egypt from the frying pan into the fire. You think Laura Logan had it bad? They roughed her up hard because she dared to pretend she was invulnerable against a mob who hated American interventionism in their country. They did not rape her, nor did they kill her though they put the fear of mutilation and death in her. How are the female (and male) investigative journalists in Egypt faring today without Mubarak, given Morsi? Where are the Sierra Club and US EPA protesting the Egyptian President Morsi's abuse of trees used for literally nailing political opponents to hang until dead and rotten?
The world certainly does need a blessing in Aramaic to be understood where mercy is not exercised, but exorcized.

If you're an attractive female, you can't "just say no" to a mob and expect them to respect you. You AVOID the mob. You don't dare the mob.
She wouldn't say. Playing the biggest victim card was to her career's advantage.
Regardless, the abuse was both inexcusable and totally predictable. AND she thought she was a super hero with either an invisible cloak or super strength to remain aloof against/within the mob that she knew would target her. Even her crew wouldn't stay with her, but withdrew from the mob. This wasn't merely a mob of angry Americans rioting, bad enough during the '60's urban America. No, these people HATE American intervention and HATE everything that America exports into their countries, including sweet young thing journalists.
And so far as the war on women goes, it's real in Islam. She knew that beforehand. She did not make wise decisions all things considered. And again, for the morons, the abuse was inexcusable but also predictable.

At some point the networks have to stop sending female reporters into many Muslim countries due to reality. Not the world as it should be, but reality. It's not safe for Egyptian women to walk the streets of Cairo. Even hijabed or niquabed women are harassed constantly. That's reality.
It goes beyond an Islamic issue to an Egyptian male problem which has recently gotten worse to epidemic.

I agree that Western women who determine to go to Muslim countries need to face up to what doom awaits there because of the violent turbulence against American interventionism so strongly overpowering any logic or appeal to reason from indigenous tribes of the region. No thanks to US foreign policy, the most modernized nations that tolerated ideological moderation have been destroyed, financed by US tax payers and destruction achieved by US Military aka NATO. Consider, though the EU members have failed to financially pay their portion in military participation, failing to purchase the strategic missiles and aircraft required and demanded from the US Military at the last moment, depleting NATO supplies entirely, and transferring what US Congress appropriated for the US war ongoing efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan (Oct.2012 The Air Force Magazine).
Think again. Omar Sharif ring a bell? Not all Egyptian men are Muslim. Though some convert that way, it doesn't make them beasts. I wouldn't blame "Egyptian males" so much as ultra-primitive males regardless of tribe or creed. And if picking the worst of the worst, look hard at the Saudis and Wahhabi Islam, aka The Muslim Brotherhood. And think again about US foreign aid and US Military aid benefiting the most cruel of all regimes, Saudi Arabia, and their exported terrorism permeating governments throughout the Middle East via the Muslim Bros.

The world certainly does need a blessing in Aramaic to be understood where mercy is not exercised, but exorcized.

pznshrn,
Egypt, and Cairo in particular, has a sexual harassment in the street problem going back a few years. Worse than the region-religion as a whole. I'm not saying WHY that is, but that it IS. The blogger who goes by Egyptian Sandmonkey has been documenting this garbage for some time. Egyptian men, it's always men, have been harassing women -- even covered women -- in droves.
So it appears to go beyond even 'normal' harassment of uncovered women. And we sure as hell never invaded Egypt -- all the Abrams tanks arrived in crates by ship.

"a mob who hated American interventionism in their
country"
So what you're saying is that peace between Egypt and Israel is a bad thing? The only 'intervention' in Egypt is Camp David and billions of taxpayer dollars.

"Egyptians are not all evil people. "
Fuck 'em. They assaulted an innocent American citizen and attacked our embassy.

They've been banging on this shit for a long time so it's nothing surprising. It would be the final nail in the coffin if this goes through and I'd be out of here so fucking fast there's be a sonic boom.
