What About Your Lies? Part II
— DrewM

I'm not big on quoting the Washington Post's "fact checker" Glenn Kessler regardless of how his "rulings" come down because he's simply an opinion columnist masquerading as a "fact checker". Sometimes though, it's too delicious to pass up.

Here is a report on his Four Pinocchio ruling on Obama's claim that George Bush is responsible for 90% of the current debt.

Obama, in a telephone interview with The Des Moines Register yesterday, said: “When you look at why the debt exploded under my watch, it’s because somebody else ran the tab before I got into office. Essentially 90 percent of the increase in debt is two wars on a credit card, two tax cuts that weren’t paid for, a prescription drug plan that was not paid for and a massive recession that required extraordinary measures, brought much less revenue in and required a lot more revenue going out in the form of things like unemployment insurance.”

The Washington PostÂ’s Fact Check gave the 90 percent claim, which Obama has stated repeatedly, four Pinocchios for its lack of truth.

In a report published today, Fact CheckÂ’s Glenn Kessler broke down the disappearance of the surplus and the rise of deficits.

About 27 percent of the problem can be tied to Obama policies in 2009, about 35 percent in 2010 and 44 percent in 2011, Kessler found.

“We are not trying to make excuses for the fiscal excesses of the Bush administration — and Congress — in the last decade. But at some point, a president has to take ownership of his own actions,” the report says.

Obama take responsibility for his actions? That's flat out racism.

16 Yeah Obama has a pathological aversion to Truth.  If he was a vampire, it would be his garlic.

Meanwhile with Lizzy Warren, another lawyer takes a crack at finding the Truth behind her practicing law in the State of Kennedy.  From Powerline's John Hinderaker -

End paragraph: "Maybe someone eventually will come up with a plausible theory on which Elizabeth Warren has not been practicing law illegally in Massachusetts for some years, but so far no one has advanced any such theory. Criminal penalties apply, I believe, to the unauthorized practice of law in Massachusetts, as in other states. Meanwhile, Massachusetts Democrats may be looking back longingly on the days when Marsha Coakley was their Senate candidate."

141 More momentum re ace's suggestion to boycott the MFM:

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell, along with more than 20 conservative leaders and media personalities, informed the heads of ABC News, CBS News, CNN and NBC News in a letter  that they are urging the members of their respective organizations to switch off the liberal media for their deliberate and calculated attempts to rig the 2012 presidential election in favor of Barack Obama. Co-signers include Ed Meese, Rush Limbaugh, Jenny Beth Martin, Matt Kibbe, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Lars Larson, and Tony Perkins.

“We have never witnessed a more brazen and complete attempt by the media to decide the outcome of a presidential election.  For 25 years, the Media Research Center has been documenting liberal media bias daily.  During that time, we have covered seven presidential elections including this one.  We have never seen it this bad.  The media have decided to re-elect Barack Obama and have employed countless distortions, misrepresentations and outright lies as their means to that end,” Bozell said.

160 None of the excuses make any sense — ‘he’s too busy campaigning,’ ‘he can talk to them on the phone anytime,’ ‘he can’t meet with everyone, so he’s meeting with no one.’

Everyone is missing the point. In an election year, if the president meets with world leaders, his opponent has the right to ask for meetings, too. And no world leader, who might be facing a President Romney in just a few weeks time, dares to refuse that request. They will all hedge their bets. After all, when the president travels abroad, he often meets with the opposition leader of a country, especially in the middle of an election season.” And President Bill Clinton, hardly one to promote a Republican candidate, gave equal time to both Romney and Obama speeches at the Clinton Global Initiative Conference this week.

And that is exactly what President Obama wants to avoid — doing anything that lets Romney look presidential. Obama and his surrogates have been quick to criticize Romney as lacking foreign policy experience. It’s hard to make that point if there is photo after photo of Romney grinning and shaking hands with one world leader after another.

188 Facing new government regulations and a lackluster economy, the financial industry is forcing customers to pay more just to park their money at the bank. Free checking is an endangered species.

New government regulations and a struggling economy have eaten into bank profits. President Obama's 2010 overhaul of the financial system, which is meant to protect consumers from bad banking practices, curbed the ability of banks to charge customers overdraft fees. Major banks have tried to offset the losses in numerous ways, most prominently by trying to charge customers for using their debit cards, which was met with a severe public backlash.

And a hearty F U to Frank, Dodd and Obama.

It's true that I would really have to work at it to care less.

192 191 Will look at your link but the day after the attack I heard that a military team of eight was scrambled to Benbhazi after the attack started. I have been trying to find out where they were originally assigned and/or scrambled from--it seemed like they came out of Tripoli. At first I thought the 2 ex SEALs were actually active duty Marines from that team that were killed because it was not clarified that the two dead were ex SEAL till a time after. Off to go look at your link--thanks.

194 from the link: Miscommunication that understated the number of American survivors awaiting rescue — there were 37, nearly four times as many as the Libyan commander expected — also meant survivors and rescuers found themselves short of transport to escape this second battle, delaying an eventual dawn break for the airport. _______________ Great. ( New NFL thread.)

195 But at some point, a president has to take ownership of his own actions,” the report says.

Presidents, yes.  Dictators and gods?  No.

196 CHARLOTTE,North Carolina (9/11/12) When the DNC came to Charlotte, area churches, 100 of them, offered hospitality, not knowing how much the Dems hate God and would actually boo God at the convention. They had no idea how that hatred would be directed at them and their churches.

The Sunday before the DNC, over 9000 people had come together to pray for the convention. Then, wanting to extend hospitality to the visitors to their city, 56 of the churches set out to “Adopt-a-Delegation.”

They put together gift baskets featuring Carolina Pralines and a letter welcoming them to the city and offering assistance in transportation, childcare or spiritual matters.

According to writer, Todd Starnes, The DNC banned the churches from distributing the gift baskets to delegates because, DNC said, the congregations hold values that are contrary to the party platform.

197 Regarding the debates: "Team Obama is laying it on heavy that the president may be the less-prepared candidate because of the demands of his office." WTF? TFG and his minions are really damn ridiculous if they think that will fly. Oh wait, there are voters that think Paul Ryan is a black Muslim. Shit.

198 If Romney does not use the debates platform to call him out as a liar, and he must us that word LIAR, he will lose this. Obama is lying about everything. Everything. And Romney must say so. What is in it for Romney to soft-pedal this? The debates are the only way to get this squarely in front of the lo-info stooges.

More so.... after almost 4 years.... the same amount of time we took to WIN WWII... Obama cannot blame Afganistan and Iraq on Bush.

If he wanted those wars over, we would have either done what was needed to really win, or pulled out.... he did neither, just voted Present.

I'd like to see a troll ratings system. Like golf, Zero's favorite pastime, the lower the score the better. Rate the trolls on their obtuseness, general idiocy, and/or level of concern. Oh, and historical correctness of predictions.

203 Ok, here's the deal. If you are stupid enough to believe Obama is qualified to be president, then you have easily passed the idjit test with flying colors and you will, therefore, believe whatever crap spews out of Obama's pie hole. So what if it's a lie? You are too stupid to know and too clueless to care.

Yeah, pretty much THIS.  The Howard Stern interviewees.  Dumbest shits imaginable.  I'm ready for a poll tax.  One that doesn't involve money, but mandates a voter at least be aware of the names of the candidates, FFS.

205 Could 2012 be America 's Last Presidential Election? By Michael Savage I've asked this question to a number of people and most of them respond as if I were crazy. They tell me that this is America , land of the free, and that there will always be elections. I tell them that we are no longer the land of the free and that if Obama gets Re-elected in 2012 that this just may be America 's last election. In the past three years, the Obama administration has been very carefully crafting the nation for a political take over by his Marxist regime and this isn't just my opinion. Popular radio talk show host (of the Savage Nation on the Talk Radio Network),Michael Savage, is the son of Russian immigrants and is very familiar with Soviet and European history. Savage warned his listeners this week saying, "I have to tell you that if this man, God forbid, is the next president of the United States , we're going to be living in something along the lines of - people say - Europe . I don't believe it's going to be like Europe - I think it will be closer to Chavez's South American dictatorship. "This is the most corrupt, incompetent, dangerous tyrannical administration in American history. It's not politics as usual. It's not just Democrats versus Republicans. Obama has a long history of being at odds with American values and with America itself and the core principles of this country. They don't want government-sponsored opinions. They only want government-sponsored 'Pravda.' That's exactly what the government-media complex tells you on a daily basis - nothing but the government-media complex party line. Pay attention! Your freedom may be at stake! Former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum told a small group of people in an Iowa coffee house that "Barack Obama is not incompetent, ladies and gentleman. He knows exactly what he's doing and why he's doing it. He sees America differently than you see America ." [Obama] has gone out of his way to divide this country in a way I haven't seen since the Great Depression when Franklin Roosevelt went around to divide his country. That's his hero. What makes America great [in Obama's mind] is that the government takes money from somebody and gives it to somebody else. No, that's what makes America, France . "With his control over the Executive and Judicial branches of the government, the stage is set for a complete takeover of the government. Think about it! Since taking office, instead of helping the economy, Obama has purposely escalated the economic crisis by plunging the country into unprecedented debt. He has a number of programs that are designed to go into effect in January 2013, just in time for his second term of office. The economic burden and increased taxes on everyone will be enough to cause the final economic collapse of the country. As soon as that happens, Obama declares Martial Law and assumes dictatorial control of the nation. The Department of Justice has already been subverting federal laws to strip us of a number of freedoms. The Supreme Court and many of the other federal courts have been seeded with socialistic liberal judges that will rule in Obama's favor on virtually anything, thus ending constitutional rule and law. He's already changing the face of America 's military. Allowing homosexuals to openly serve along with changing the retirement program is causing many conservative military leaders to resign commissions and leave the military. Some Pentagon officials are also noting that an increase in the enlistment of radical Muslims into the US military where they get all the training they need on weapons and defense systems. We have no idea how many of them there are in the armed forces or in what positions they may hold. Obama has been wielding executive powers this past year as if he were already a dictator. When Congress is not doing his bidding, he simply bypasses them and uses an executive order to accomplish it anyway. This has set the stage for his disbandment of Congress. He would not be the first world leader to take control of a nation and disband the legislative branch of government. He has been effectively using the media to anesthetize the public to the dangers he poses. Like a patient being prepped for surgery, people are numb to the changes and won't have a clue what took place until they wake up in recovery and realize that free America has been removed and replaced with a regime that may parallel those of Stalin, Lenin, Mussolini, Hitler, Chavez and Castro. For the sake of our children and grandchildren, I earnestly pray that we are spared from what seems a certain future and that Obama is overwhelmingly defeated in 2012. Otherwise, heaven help us.
