— Ace New ad, pretty good.
The media never stops chattering about Obama's ads. I think that's due to rooting-interest bias -- they want Obama to win, so they focus on those things that make an Obama win more likely.
But this ad seems pretty effective. And "offshoring" is included here, too.
But they never mention Romney's ads.
Semi-related, Kathryn Jean Lopez thinks Romney is becoming more natural, and less programmed by risk-adverse advisers, when stumping.
I have long thought he has been ill-served by certain advisers... trying to protect the candidate from himself rather than let him be himself, completely. (He is actually a competent guy, who represents some fundamental values we used to protect and promote and even try to live, who has demonstrated forward-looking leadership more than a time or two.) And so you have had some random snapshots, without a complete vision. I think it is safe to say Romney has had enough of that. Witness... his pushback after he was booed at the NAACP last week (and the vision thing presented in most of the speech) and yesterday in Pennsylvania. Jim Geraghty provides a good synopsis of the latter in his Morning Jolt this morning. This portion, where he talks about the current administration, hits, I think, at an authentic tone going into the general election that may just be a winning one:
This is very different by the way than the Democratic party of Bill Clinton, that said that the era of big government was over. That reformed welfare — you heard that story by the way — he is trying to take work out of welfare requirement. It is changing the nature of America, changing the nature of what Democrats have fought for and Republicans have fought for.
He folds everything neatly into one of his several big themes-- this one, the "He's transforming America into something unrecognizable" theme. Which is as sound as it is racist.

Sure, it was a combination between that and money shoveled at Democrat-controlled states to allow them to keep their budgets and not cut pensions or union benefits for another year. It was a bailout for leftist policies and public employee unions.

The funny thing is, if you're trying to hit the "undecideds" with a clue bat, this is pretty good. My impression though, if you're going to ask the question "where did all the money go," and then talk about $500 million, you haven't begun to answer the question. That still leaves about $800 bilion unaccounted for. So you leave yourself open to the response being "why are we quibbling over less than 1/10 of 1% of the money?"
Squandering the stimulus money is about more than just Solyndra.

Different dynamic, though. First off, there were fewer voters. Second, the news cycle was such that just a couple of weeks were enough to "shift the narrative." I don't think that holds anymore.

While Americans might enjoy throwing politically-charged barbs at their neighbors to the north, Canadians now have at least one reason to be smug.
For the first time in recent history, the average Canadian is richer than the average American, according to a report cited in Toronto's Globe and Mail.
And not just by a little. Currently, the average Canadian household is more than $40,000 richer than the average American household. The net worth of the average Canadian household in 2011 was $363,202, compared to around $320,000 for Americans.

And, if I were in charge over at BofA, I would sue the Democrats.
And I know that works, because it's what Arlington and the Cowboys had to do for the NFL and national media to finally start referring to the city the new Cowboys stadium is in as "Arlington" instead of "Dallas."
Well, Arlington only had to threaten to sue, they didn't actually have to sue, but you get the point.

It's called contract law. The contract does NOT give them the right remove or change and BoA signage.

I caught O'Reilly yesterday, and it was very weird.
All they did was harp and harp and harp about Obama's latest stunts, and how they reflect his ideology. They even had a former Obama economic advisor on, asking about how Obama looks at the economy - and he only said he did not want the US economic system "to be the same as the last several years" (he gave a number of years, but I forget if it was just the 3.)
Everything they said ALL pointed to "the President is a socialist, or even a communist", but they would never, ever, spit it right out and SAY IT. I found myself screaming things at the TV, like "And what ideology is someone FOLLOWING, when you believe THAT, Bill?!!"
There was just a HUGE elephant in the room.

The fact is, Obama was in charge, and he can't even claim he delegated that mess (or those messes) so he could place his focus on creating a success out of some other mess.
Romney may have left Bain in the hands of others, but he went off to pulse someone's ass out of the fire and turn a pending failure into an unqualified success. (Apart from the made-in_Burma uniforms!)

I was actually disappointed in the ad. Any politician could cherry-pick those kinds of claims, and thery didn't come close to adding up to even 1% of the total amount.
The way I see what really happened is orders of magnitudes worse, and I would love to see him called on it. When I once saw what the breakdown of the spending was planned to be - beforehand - I noticed that only 5% of it would provide even a temporary boost to the economy. It was all just throwing money into the coffers of non-productive liberal allies, except that 5% which was destined to be hung up wfrom bureacracy.
A LOT went to college programs, for example. Are more students being college-educated now, and if so, is it helping? Probably what happened is that the liberal re-education camps just upped the price, and charged more to get the federal money.
To summarize, it was the largest heist - by far - in human history. $0.8T is an UNIMAGINABLE amount of money. Solyndra was outrageous, and a part of this, but it was just the snowflake on the tip of the iceberg.
