— CAC Here is a map of party control state by state:

Wisconsin barely flipped it's senate last night, but that won't hold per November elections thanks to redistricting, and Walker got his reforms anyway.
This map gets uglier for the Democrat-PEU complex when you consider:
Minnesota is more controlled by its overwhelmingly Republican statehouse than it's ineffective man-child Governor.
New York's Governor Cuomo has no qualms about curbing pensions and even some public employee "rights", and has a Republican-controlled Senate to help.
New Jersey is the effectively the kingdom of Sir Fat Man of Rinodom, whose reforms have worked well enough and convinced enough folks normally apprehensive to such changes that he is likely to coast to re-election, a feat unheard of for a Republican in the Garden State in decades.
Several states are expected to shift even more Republican in the fall, including Montana, North Carolina, and New Hampshire.
Three of the largest cities in the country: San Jose, San Diego, and Chicago(!), are currently or will shortly be mayored by men ready and willing to put a boot on the neck of unions to stop the pension bombs (Rahm's fight will be the most interesting).
Listening to the usually contradictory Bill Handel yesterday morning on KFI, he called Tuesday's results a "sea change", and stated bluntly that the era of public union power is effectively over. I have heard and read this assessment numerous times since the recall (and in the days leading up to it), and think it's fairly accurate when you look at the numbers now against them. They still own and control enough state legislatures to stagger about, but the survival of Walker has yanked their teeth out, neutered them, took an arm, a foot, and half a face along with it.
The progressive mayor of San Jose described the pension bomb as a cancer. Walker's reforms are chemo. They will cause lots of nasty reactions, but they are necessary, they work, and they are popular. While there was pushback last year in Ohio and a bit in Michigan, recent developments show the trend is back in favor of the taxpayer, for the first time in years (and in some states, decades).
I've never felt better about the fiscal health on a state-by-state level of this country in years. It's almost anti-doomy, and for a few fleeting moments I forget how screwed we are on the federal level.

None other than Fast Eddie Rendell was threatened with recall when he forced concessions on the public sector unions during his first term as mayor. Rendell won.

Success is self-reinforcing. Even if the voters of particular states don't get the message, the exodus of business (and the tax base) to other saner states will ensure that they eventually face reality.

I was talking to my libtard brother after the win on the Wisonsin recall.
He was pissin and moaning about taking away workers rights, end of democracy (he did not wail and cry like that fuck tard on Youtube to his credit.)... yadyadayada.
I gave him a corollary that public sector unions are roughly 1% of the workforce, they feed off the work and productivity of the other 99%., and that Conservatives are the true new occupy movement. Raather than Occupy.the.capitol.building, we do something much more productive.
We Ocuupy.the.Voting.Booth. That and we shower.
THAT shut him up.

The Wisconsin legislature is out of session until after the Nov elections anyway so this temporary senate flip will have no effect. Meanwhile that race still has not been conceded by the Republican Van WAangard and we are currently contemplating a recount based on several reports of voting irregularities. As you know if you followed Tues results, Racine, the district in question, did not report its results till early the next morning and there are a lot of questions about what happened in that district. People were last minut registering with no more ID than supermarket flyers and water bills addressed to OCCUPANT

You know, I think much of this comes from nearly all non-union workers moving to a defined contribution retirement plan. Everyone has watched as the value in their 401(k)s has disappeared while at the same time their taxes are going up to pay for the defined benefits of the public sector union workers. After deep consideration of the implications of this, the public has decided to say fuck that shit.

It might look like a fight, but that's a charade put on for the proles to make it appear both sides are fighting hard. In Chicago the fix is always in unless the Machine is caught unprepared. For example, the Machine picked Rahm before Boss Jr. officially stepped down.
The show is scripted and the "compromise" already agreed upon before the curtain rises.

I asked him how the hell he correlated people wanting to control the cost of Government and ran away Unions with caring about the Poor? Some stretch even for a liberal
Because only the government can help people. Seriously, trying to explain that you do care and that's why you give your money money to charity voluntarily to a liberal usually results in the puzzled head tilt.

I assume thanks to your rogue judge up there that's actually legal? I can't believe it could be honestly. I mean the practicality of it alone is stupid. Hell I live in an apartment complex and I find those supermarket flyers (as well as a few water bills) just laying on the ground around here. (Note: I'm not in WI, just illustrating a point.)
:sigh: Voter ID laws are sorely needed. And thank you for reminding me to freaken BURN my voting reminder card when it comes in the mail.

To be fair, all those pasty-white, assorted "studies" majors playing grab-ass in the Chicago high-rise with $100k+ in student loan debt don't come cheap.
I mean, you have to pay them just so they don't have to admit their degree is worthless.
'Cause they really would work for free.
It's not like they have anything else going on.
You know, like, jobs, family, moving out of mom's basement.

The Iowa Senate is D controlled, GOP Gov and House.
And you'd think the Senate Majority Leader (Gronstal) was the co governor, the way he's covered in the news. I guess he kinda is, since he holds up every bill, just like Harry Reid.

Jerry Doyle's "Return to Fiscal Sanity" poll results say it all. Though Americans are fed up with all kinds of shit, regardless of party, 90% of literate Americans agree that politicians lie and the government is rotten, so there's no reason to willingly swallow any more raised/new tax shit sandwich on command. The vote results demand LESS TAX ON CITIZENS & STFU WITH MEANINGLESS PROMISES. Politicians say they want the people mandate for their campaign platform, eh.
Who is a Customs specialist to affirm/deny the word that NAFTA has cut 2/3 of US Customs income -- removing taxation from big business. And that's just the tip of the NAFTA iceberg sheering against profitable US (small business) enterprise which is said to provide most of our nation's employment.

Listening to the usually imbecilic Bill Handel. - FTFY
Handel's why I stopped listening to KFI in the morning. He's a good example of someone that's gone from right to left to be with the LA 'in' crowd. Thank God for internet radio + podcasts. Now listen to Dana, Leykis, and Imus as well as Rush.
Gary Hoffman does do a good news show Sunday AM on KFI. And their resident MILF Lisa-anne Warren on Sat/Sun is fun too.
