— CAC Democratic no more.
16-16-1 now, thanks to Senator Jim Cullen bailing out of the Democratic party.
Democrat John Lehman just barely defeated Republican Van Wanggaard in the June Mega-Recall, with results certified earlier this month and flipping control of the state senate to the Democrats.
After months of screaming, millions blown on recalls up and down the state, and boasting and yelling by every fist-icon-sporting lefty out there, the Democratic victory that was recalling Walker barely flipping the senate (when it isn't in session again until after the November elections which are likely to restore at least two seats to the Republicans) hit an iceberg today.
When the party regained control, Cullen, who had fled with the rest of the Democrats but was willing to work with Walker on reforms after returning to the state, was denied chairman status on any committee. He felt insulted, has walked, and the three-week-long Democratic majority is over.
Three weeks of non-control after tens of millions burned.

I'm sure the taxpayers noticed that. Next time some asshat is circulating petitions, they won't be so cavalier about signing them...and might be more inclined to run said asshat out of town on a rail.

I get your point, but I think the main reason more don't is because they can stick around and be DIABLOs and get fawning media attention and other payouts for attacking conservatives.
We don't run out the people who wish to work with the opposition to find solutions...which can be a problem when "work with" means "bend over and take it from."

So long as Mr. Cullen remains a Democrat – even if he does not caucus with Democrats – it appears that the Democrats will formally hold onto control of the Senate.
ThereÂ’s another factor, too, that appears to assure Democratic control: Another senator, Rich Zipperer, a Republican, is expected to resign the senate in August to work in the administration of Gov. Scott Walker, meaning that Democrats would widen their margin to 17-15. (A special election will be called to fill his seat.)

Things have changed. Used to be when a bunch of union goons showed up and started hey-heying and ho-hoing, politicians would cower. Now? Not so much.
Here in Philly, the locals have this 15 ft. tall blow-up rat that they inflate to protest "scabs" at the convention center. Result? Convention-goers feel intimidated. Result? Cancelled bookings. Result? Loss of union jobs. These boys are shrewwwwwwwwd.

Western states that have land suitable for solar projects.
1. California
2. Nevada
3. Utah
4. Wyoming
5. New Mexico
6. Arizona
7. Colorado
8. Texas
Of those states which ones do you think will actually get a solar project?
1. California (Try and improve unemployment)
2. Nevada (For the votes)
3. New Mexico (The only other D state with a bunch of desert)
And California will shut it down for some threatened desert beetle. Nevada will get the desert beetle protestors from California but will likely proceed after 2 or so years of court cases. New Mexico won't be able to find anyone to invest.
Please Wyoming, let me in when I leave California, I'm cool, honest.

One thing I appreciated about Shiner is that it tasted clean. It is still the only beer I ever tasted where I could taste the mineral water behind all the beer, and where I didn't mind being reminded that there was water in there, because it was good water.
In places like Texas in the summer, that's not to be mocked at.

Update: Cullen told TPM that he is still a Democrat — for now.
“I’m a Democrat — I’m not a member of the caucus*,” said Cullen. He said he will speak to people over the coming weeks to decide whether to become an independent.
Cullen said he still supports President Obama for re-election, and Rep. Tammy Baldwin for U.S. Senate.

So, Does this mean the WI State Senate office shuffle is now cancelled?
I cannot find the story, but they were going to be spending big money ($100K+) shifting the majority and minority offices around since the Democrats had a majority. Even though they will need to shift them back in November when the Republicans win a majority.
Your typical government spending at work.

Ok... I'll bite... that's a D+11 poll, D+12 without leaners.
I'll wager that we don't even see a D+10 split in the exit polls... I'll bet anything you'd care to that D+9 is the highest it could possibly go; you get D+10 and anything greater; including the D+12 poll you have here if they come to be even vaguely accurate.
Since this poll is terribly meaningful and useful you'll take that, right? Because the Democrats will have a wave twice the size of 2008 (D+7) and will overwhelm the 2010 results (D+0).
Since 2010 the Democrats have gained a TWELVE point advantage in the electorate... and you'll be willing to wager that this is correct, right?
Otherwise with a 2008/2010 split of say D+4 you've got 8 points tacked on, and a 6 point lead... which doesn't really look persuasive for your side winning by a large margin.
