Zogby: Romney Cracks 41% Support With Young Voters
— Ace

41% obviously isn't great, but we're going to lose this demographic (probably...), so it's a matter of how bad we lose it.

41% isn't so bad. Considering that only 49% support Obama -- not 59% -- there is room for Romney-Ryan to grow.

Zogby has been especially interested in the youth vote this election. In 2008, 66 percent chose Obama over Sen. John McCain, the highest percentage for a Democrat in three decades. But their desire for hope and change has turned to disillusionment and unemployment. Zogby calls them "CENGAs" for "college-educated, not going anywhere."

In his latest poll, Obama receives just 49 percent of the youth vote when pitted against Romney, who received 41 percent.

I'm omitting the part about putting Gary Johnson into the mix. Long story short, Gary Johnson keeps Obama at just 50%. Romney's numbers go down, too, but Obama doesn't get more than 50% among the young.

Zogby speculates that Romney's selection of 42-year-old Rep. Paul Ryan helped turn more younger voters to him. "It could be his youthfulness," said Zogby of Ryan. Plus, he said, more younger voters are becoming libertarian, distrustful of current elected officials and worried that they are going to get stuck with the nation's looming fiscal bill.

"They want change," said Zogby.

Yes, change. Math and Change.

It's people my age wondered what the hell happened after they elected their perceived Messiah. This has been building for about 18 months. I'm willing to bet a lot of the younger voters who say they prefer Romney to Obama won't vote for Romney; they'll sit the election out.

More succinctly, younger voters are realizing that they've just been lied to all along.

79 Basically, if Romney can use a strategy of denying Obama three demographics, the young vote, the black vote, and the liberal professional vote (academics, etc.), he will have the election sewed up. These were the three demographics that were all in for Obama in 2008. Already we see that black voters are less enthralled with Obama (Homosexuals), the young voters are bailing (unemployment) while the liberal professionals are doubling down for Obama. Lower numbers in two out of three will cripple Obama. This is probably what the internals for the Democrats are already showing. Their only hope is that enthusiasm for this election will be so low that no one will want to vote. But we already know that is not going to happen. The undeniable truth of this election is that too many people want to throw Obama out.

Is it really good news? They voted for because he was "cool", and they still think he is. Maybe he can be exposed, finally, as the big, fat, liar that he is, and then as the big, fat, card-carrying socialist that he is, but I'm not holding my breath.

Everybody talks about how Obama can't get re-elected because of the economy, but the people who are being hurt the most will vote for him anyway! Besides the youth, saying he's "cool", you have the blacks - who spend their lives complaining about being judged by the color of their skin - literally supporting Obama because of the color of his skin.

They supported him with a higher percent than Saddam Hussein used to get, even though not voting for Saddam could bring bad guys to your house to beat you up, rape your female family members, and maybe take you away to never be seen again. Obama did not grow up in a black neighborhood, is half white, his African ancestry is from an entirely different part of Africa than virtually all American blacks, and he has no slave heritage. In short, all he has in common with American blacks is having a some darker complexion than white folks in other words, "the color of his skin". They've spent their whole lives being programmed with the idea that their misfortunes are because "whitey" doesn't give them a fair chance.
