"11 Million Undocumented Democrats"
— Ace

Like many things, it took a joke to put this into play.

People feel more comfortable discussing tricky subject areas with jokes.

So, apparently Leno mentioned the amnesty bill for "11 million documented Democrats," and now it's being used as a laugh-line among Republicans, and finally people are talking about it for real.

I'll tell you one thing: The Democrats would never be talking about giving voting rights to 11 million undocumented Tea Partiers.

Incidentally, in dinner table debate with a bunch of libs, I said that all this is is a scam to create 15 million new Democrat voters and surprisingly, no one objected to that assessment. 35 People, I gotta tell you that pretty much everyone one of the illegals that was going to vote already does.  When I lived in Conneticut you could see them being driven in vans to the voting places.  I used to work with some of those guys and they voted without regard to immigration status and nobody ever questioned them.  All you needed in CT to vote was a state issued ID card.  Bridgeport, New Haven, Stamford, etc. have been giving out ID cards for years no questions asked.  They claim it was to bring the undocumented people out of the shadows and to allow them to cash paychecks or get emergency care at the Hospital without fear of being deported.  If it was going on in Connecticut, it was happening in Spades in California and other Southwestern states.

44 Philosophical question: why is it that most illegal aliens support democrats?

There's the immediate answer that Democrats are the ones supporting illegal activity by refusing to prosecute that sort of illegal activity.

There's the cultural answer that the majority of illegal immigrants in the US are from South and Central America, and come from a culture that is much more leftist than the US culture.

46 "I'll tell you one thing: The Democrats would never be talking about giving voting rights to 11 million undocumented Tea Partiers."

Republicans should have this tattooed on the inside of their eyelids in fluorescent ink: "IF CHUCK SCHUMER IS AVID TO PASS IT, THERE IS NO WAY A BILL IS GOOD FOR THE GOP."

You would think the tattoo would not be necessary. Yet apparently it is.

Of course, if you look at the Republicans on the Gang of 8, even if they had that regular reminder, they would still be pushing this crap for their own reasons.

Rube-io's reason? He intends to pull a Charlie Crist party jump eventually, so inflicting horrible damage to the GOP is actually a net positive for his long term plans.

McQueeg? He's narcissistically in love with his self-identification as a "maverick", and the media are regularly feeding back to him how amazingly super mavericky it is to betray his own party base.

Miss Lindsey? Everyone has known quietly for years that Sen. Graham has a taste for sleeping with men. It's becoming more clear that the Democrats must have caught him in bed at some point with not a man, but a boy.

This is democrat's hero Bill Clinton:

Russian immigrants to Israel are one of the main obstacles to reaching a peace agreement with the Palestinians, former US President Bill Clinton said Tuesday to reporters in New York, according to Foreign Policy magazine.

Clinton expressed his fear that the large numbers of Russian immigrants and settlers serving in the IDF will make it hard for the army to confront the settlers if this should be required. An increasing number of IDF soldiers are children of Russians and settlers, who are those most strongly opposed to dividing the land, the former president said. He noted this was a serious problem, and that Israel had changed – some 16% of Israelis now speak Russian.

I don't think it's quite that high- you'd have to believe that about 10% of the entire US population are illegal aliens.

However the 11 million figure is probably low balling it-  they've been using the same numbers for the better part of a decade.  I know a few people in ICE, they all say it's higher than 11M- probably closer to 20M.

81 Taking the documentation from eleven million Tea Partiers and making sure their right-wing racism no longer infects American politics is an excellent idea. The only problem with Red States is they are full of Red Staters. Once your taxes have been properly adjusted to better bring about social and economic justice, including the environmental crimes of your ancestors, you won't be able to afford children. And the ones you do have will be educated by correctly-thinking persons in government schools. Then immigration will make an America that looks more like the rest of the world. It will be lovely.

The 30% we are getting now has been steadily dropping even after the last amnesty bill. That 30% is dropping because it is mainly older Cubanos who ran from Castro and know what communism does.  The percentage of Mexicans and other Central Americans from socialist countries is increasing even as the 30% goes down.

And who want to spend 12 or more hours in a hot mid-CA farm field picking watermelons for Mr. Majestick for less than minimum wage when they can lay on their ass and collect welfare?

86 They will import Third World-style politics, and we'll get Third World-style government. The difference is that, unlike in Mexico where nothing works right and the government is too poor to create an effective police state, our new Mexicrat officials will have a First World-legacy apparatus at their disposal, including the NSA, ATF, etc. So our future: the tribalism and thuggery of the Third World, combined with the First World's ability to inflict it effectively.

141 "Philosophical question: why is it that most illegal aliens support democrats?"

I've posted this thought before but it retains its relevance:

Let's posit an alternate reality where I'm a white illegal alien having snuck into a majority Hispanic country. I'm looking for whatever I can find that will make my life better than it was where I came from. If that's an under the table job, great. If it is government benefits, even better. If it is citizenship and lavish government benefits, that's the grand prize.

Party R in that country says, "Immigrants like you are welcome here but you have to go through the formal process. No queue jumping. Once you're a citizen, we expect you to work. Handouts will be few and far between and limited to the genuinely needy. And we intend to treat you just like any other citizen. No special favors."

Party D in that country says, "We offer you citizenship right away! Hell, we support your right to vote in our elections even BEFORE you get citizenship. We don't even care if you have a criminal history. Serial drunk driver? No problem! Once you're here, even before you are a citizen, we'll give any kids you have automatic citizenship and then you start to get the BENNIES from your connection to them. Free food! Housing subsidies! Free medical care! Power bill subsidies! We even give you free mobile phones! As many of them you want! Then once you're a citizen you can have old age pension benefits, even if you never paid into the system for those! But all that's not the best part. Here's the best part. Under our model, nothing you do wrong is ever your fault. Instead, you get to blame it on imperialist exploitation of your race by others! And as payback for that, you get a leg up in every area of your life. School admissions slots! Promotions at work! Government jobs and private sector jobs will all have guaranteed quotas for your race!"

I don't know about you, but I would pull the lever for Party D until my arm fell off.

People in general want Free Shit. Poor people want Free Shit even more.

If I'm a poor immigrant, a party offering not only Free Shit, but more Free Shit than anyone else, plus a cut to the head of the Free Shit line, plus quotas that benefit my race, plus built-in excuses for my ineptitude and/or misbehavior? That is pure gravy, baby.

I'm an avid reader of this site but very rarely post comments.  But I must say publicly that if a "comprehensive immigration" reform passes, I will leave the Republican party permanently and do my best for the Libertarian Party.  Its no idle threat.  This whole act is silly.  There are only two reasons to even consider a "comprehensive immigration" reform 1) to fix the current system that is totally lacking in enforcing existing laws including enforcing border security.  What's the point of more laws if the previous laws were not enforced?  That leads to the second point, to create a permanent Democratic majority on the national level which will eventually lead to permanent Democratic majorities in most states.

That's the game: dangle a read need to fix "the system" (actually the system isn't really broken, our elected officials and their appointees CHOOSE not to enforce sufficient current laws that, if they had been enforced, we wouldn't have this problem) and combine it with the "compassion" of legalizing a permanent Democratic majority.

I now see why my very cynical friends think all hope for the future is lost, we on the slow slide to Gomorrah.  Political Correctness doesn't even allow us to address the real reason behind this, its allow about votes.  Not compassion, not "fixing the system", not about assimilation, paying taxes, learning English; that's all distraction.

Just about votes and Republicans are too stupid, too scared and too neutered to tell it like it is.

I guess I'll join the cynical group and then join the Libertarian Party.  I'm not on board with all of their points, but at least they have some guiding principles.  I can't say that for the "Republican Leadership".

PS  I' no radical.  My wife is third generation Hispanic and sees the amnesty as I do, plus she is strongly opposed to the downward pressure on wages and the upward pressure on unemployment the reform plan will cause.

Reality check time.

Suppose I'm a poor Mexican peasant. My country's government is corrupt and ineffectual and is stifling any hope I will ever have of making a go in life.

I can sack up and join La Revolucion against the Mexican government. A revolucion that has basically not a hoot in hell's chance of succeeding. In which I would be very likely to get hurt or killed in the fighting for no good end. And if my side wins, our grand prize is... Mexico. Arriba! Well, not so much arriba. Mexico will still suck donkey balls no matter who runs it, because, Mexicans. Something about themselves that Mexicans realize quite clearly.

Whereas I can instead go to El Norte and be handed a huge prize cart full of Free Shit without having to run any risks or get in any fights.

Yeah, I would have to think long and hard about that choice.

Of course, what the Mexicans don't realize is that Mexicanizing the USA will mean an end to the Free Shit eventually, as America turns as ineffectual and corrupt and broke as Mexico is now.

Or they realize it and don't care. They just want to get what they can before the USA falls over for good. As I said previously, maggots are avid for corpses.

Ironically, I think Obama caused the shale boom.

Typically oil prices must be over $75 - 80 per barrel for a shale well to be economically viable. If you'll recall, after the collapse in 08, oil was trading somewhere in the $30 range.

Oil historically has only been above $80 when economic output was fairly high, which, it is not now. Why is oil so high now then?

My guess is fear of hyperinflation leads investors to speculation, and since oil is a commodity, when the dollar is weak, oil is high. I don't think the current price reflects consumption only.

Obama's hostility I think isn't a more grand conspiracy as it is a nod to his enviroweenie base.

231 "actually, can we import Tea Partiers from somewhere? do they exist in large numbers in some other country?"

It's impossible to tell what you will get over the long run.

In the 19th century, the Scots were chaste, abstemious, studious, serious, religiously upright people who basically created the Industrial Revolution. *

Whereas now?

In the 21st century, the Scots have become dissolute irreligious promiscuous socialist wastrels.

(* Many of whom contributed hugely as immigrants to the growth of American business and industrialization. The name Andrew Carnegie may ring a bell. A bell perhaps made of Carnegie steel.)

255 "When McCain goes back up for re-election, I doubt Mama Grizzly will help him this time."

Palin has a problem. Her loyalty is ironclad even to people whom it should not be. For instance, she stuck like glue with Tom Van Flein as her attorney long after it was clear the guy was out of his depth in handling her affairs and that she needed higher powered counsel.

This led to stuff like the flap over Palin's "official" legal defense fund. The careless use of that word led to yet another one of those bullshit ethics board charges against her, on the grounds that she was dishonestly using her office for personal benefit. Better legal counsel would have spotted that risk and shut it down before it even became an issue.

Senators on Tuesday rejected building the 700 miles of double-tier border fencing Congress authorized just seven years ago, with a majority of the Senate saying they didnÂ’t want to delay granting illegal immigrants a legal status while the fence was being built.

The 54-39 vote to reject the fence shows the core of the immigration deal is holding.

262 Go to WAR against the drug cartels. If America has a drug problem, the best thing to do is remove the SOURCE, not hope you can change the problem.

When that asshole came up here and blamed America for Mexico's problem with the cartels, everyone in congress should've stood up and walked out. Then, passed a resolution to persuade Mexico to fix it's own ass instead of fucking us in ours.

As long as people are willing to buy the shit, criminals will find ways to sell it. Every drug dealer killed or jailed is simply less competition for those that remain at large, making larger profits.

You need a 3-strikes law for drug users. First strike, a stay in detox, and six months in jail, followed by 2 years' probation, during which they have to stay clean and employed. Second strike, a stay in detox, followed by a year in jail, followed by 10 years' probation, same condition. Third strike, sign an organ donor card, and out to the parking lot behind the courthouse to get a bullet in your head.

The Dems are all about diversity, don't ya know?  They are expanding the plantation to add Hispanic illegals to the core group of blacks, single/unwed mothers, government unions and Marxist professors,.  They have no intention of helping those groups to ever become self-sufficient,  only redistribute enough of some one else's wealth to keep them on the plantation and voting D

Canada. There are a whole bunch of us here. I know the stereotype that all Canadian are lefties but we do have a right of centre government at the moment, built mostly by not talking about social issues (which I understand the Tea Party also avoids) and focusing on fiscal conservative principles.

I don't understand why we don't just have a swap. The American left loves all the stuff we have (government run health care, gay marriage, taxpayer funded abortion). I propose a 1:1 trade. They can have all of Canada's natural resources and beauty, and the conservatives can have America's and then we'll see which is more prosperous. If america is the greatest social experiement in the world let's make the greaterist.

268 Philosophical question: why is it that most illegal aliens support democrats?

Posted by: EC at June 18, 2013 02:37 PM (GQ8sn)

Identity Politics. They identify with the criminal element of the Democratic party, which is more forgiving of criminal offenses. You know like the one these people committed by crossing the border.

Posted by: Future Illegal Immigrant at June 18, 2013 12:22 PM (9j/Zj)

269 "I'll tell you one thing: The Democrats would never be talking about giving voting rights to 11 million undocumented Tea Partiers." IF these 11 million people were likely to vote mostly Republican, not only would there be no talking about giving them voting rights, there would be LOTS of talking about border security -including that border security be addressed first and foremost with construction of a border fence, with towers every 300 yards manned with armed guards 24-7. There would also be lots and lots of talking about mass deportation. And by talking, I mean angry demands for it. No more would we hear, "we can't round up and deport 11 million people -it's impossible!" Instead, we'd be hearing, "These 11 million invaders are taking away jobs that could be filled by poor, unemployed American citizens! They MUST be removed, by any and all means necessary." The Democrats would never compromise or work toward a solution to any problem that would potentially pose an existential threat to them as a viable, competitive political party on the national stage. This is one of many key differences between Republicans and Democrats: Whenever Republicans have some power, they actually try to govern and solve problems -even if it means making compromises that can put them in a bad spot electorally down the road. The Democrats, meanwhile, are Al Davis -just win, baby! Whatever they do, they always try to maximize their fortunes as a party, governing and problem solving be damned.

273 11 million?  I wish the pundits who live in NE and such would visit a border state and say that number again with a straight face.  We've been using the 11 million number since the arguments about border security RIGHT AFTER 9/11.

I remember the gov't numbers stating that number was going up by 300,000 at the very least per year.  So that makes the number ~ 40 million undocumented left wing fanatics who will overwhelm the system.

40 MILLION.  Half of them live in California alone.. and are getting free food stamps.. and the rest of us kind of look at the ground not knowing what to say.  I, myself was told I could not get food stamps under any condition.  So we have an invasion occurring right under our noses.  The motor voter law?  It was championed by Cloward and Piven!  There is video of them attending the signing with Bill Clinton.  That motor voter law is why the Supreme court struck down our right to defend ourselves.

The constitution isn't a suicide pact? Tell that to the supreme court.  trators, all of them
