Aaron Hernandez Finishes Spring Camp With 43 Catches, 1 Murder
— Ace

Police plan to go back to the home of New England Patriot's tight end Aaron Hernandez today with another warrant based on evidence that "he destroyed his home security system,'' an investigator close to the case told ABC News.
The investigator, and other law enforcement sources, confirmed that the security system - which included video surveillance - was smashed intentionally.
And a cell phone used by Hernandez was handed over to investigators "in pieces'' by his attorneys, the sources said.

There's a perfectly logical explanation for this: He murdered someone.

I have often wondered how someone could be both a devout Christian and liberal- it makes no sense to me. Middle brother is a school administrator whose stated plan is to scam the Texas Teacher retirement benefits for as much money as he can. So, my theory: People cannot actually be both devout Christians (or, at least, conservative Christians, which is the same thing in my book) and politically Liberal. They really are Liberals first and foremost. Does that jibe with anyone else's personal experiences? One of the parts of this series deals with how over budget they were and running out of time as they were competing with other liners. So naturally, the owners began ordering the workers to start cutting corners with steel quality, etc. Didn't work out so well.

325 AllenG: Yes. Two friends that I grew up with and eventually just gave up on because of the rabid BDS were "devout Christians" and Liberals. Both could afford to be. They're Big Dream (!!!!) was to live in a Blue State. They were supported by their parents, whose professions they looked down on. Long story short: you hit the nail on the head.

329 314 I think it's something to do with Social Justice being preached in more liberal churches but preached with a twist. Any Christian will tell you we ought to care for the less fortunate (there's actually a debate going on as to whether it means those of the faith or all the less fortunate but that is a digression). Any Christian understands the importance of community to the faith. The twist comes when rather than the community of faith doing the caring, the community decides society as a whole must do it and therefore the government is the obvious choice. Once you drink from the fount of Society should care for everybody, it becomes easy to transition to Society should take care of me. As a point of interest, the Jerusalem church is central to the first few chapters of Acts. Once they decide to set up committees to care for the less fortunate (and non-ethnically Jewish), they move to the side of Luke's story and quickly disappear. It's a subtle commentary on the importance of the whole community.

And Paul not-so-subtly points out how stupid the Jerusalem Christians were being several times in his letters. The phrase, "He who won't work shouldn't eat" is a direct condemnation of a practice common in the Jerusalem Church at the time. All that communism they (voluntarily) practiced early on came back to bite them- hard.

332 My experience has been that christian liberals convince themselves that government can somehow function as an agent of good. Like a great big charity! I grew up in a christian school, and would definitely have back and forth on it with any of these libs, because I just don't get it either. For some obvious reasons when you talk about things like abortion in particular. But some people just accept this R's are for the rich and D's are for the poor pablum as hard fact, and can't move on past that to anything real. I gather this is one of those things where people get more conservative once they get past that which sounds great in theory ,and start to get a little more cynical about how things work in practice once they live their own life. You watch government in action, and this idea that we can outsource charity to them cannot pass the sniff test for long. Not if you bother to pay any attention.
