— LauraW Hold on to your pants- this may come as a bit of a shock.
It turns out, unexpectedly, that the Obama administration is a bunch of mean, reporter bullying d-bags. That whole flareup with Bob Woodward last week was a catharsis that made it easier for President Obama's battered girlfriends in the press to pipe up about it.
“I had a young reporter asking tough, important questions of an Obama Cabinet secretary,” says one DC veteran. “She was doing her job, and they were trying to bully her. In an e-mail, they called her the vilest names — bitch, c--t, a--hole.” He complained and was told the matter would be investigated: “They were hemming and hawing, saying, ‘We’ll look into it.’ Nothing happened.”.
"War on Women!" notes Slublog in my email.
This column contains many guffaw-inducing lines, too many to excerpt. It was difficult to read because I was shaking my head the whole time. The hand wringing about their own loss of credibility as an industry -and the concern that Obama's administration has created a "state-run media" on social media- is especially precious.
Once again, like Woodward and Fournier, no one brings any blame to the man himself. Although in any other organization we note that the fish rots from the head, in Obama's blameless presidency, his aides and officials conduct their horrors without his consent or supervision.
If a guy who walls himself up in his house has a brace of vicious dogs guarding his property, do you also assume he doesn't know his dogs bite? Or is it more likely he does know, and that he likes them that way? See where I'm going with this, brave paperboys?
Okay, so here is the cry for help:
None of the White House correspondents who spoke to The Post are hopeful that things will improve. “What’s our recourse?” says one. “How do you force them?”“The reporters I’ve spoken to who have covered multiple administrations have said this is tighter, more restricted than other administrations,” Munro says. “They don’t like it. They don’t have the power to change it.”
But you do have the power. INVESTIGATE THEM. When they lie to you, or to people on the social media sites, make a public stink about it. Dog them, and they will fear you, and will be nicer to you. It is, after all, your damn job.
It works.
Ask any Republican.
A functioning, healthy press dedicated to finding the truth is so fearsome that it helps prevent as much corruption as it finds. You're afraid of Obama's dogs? Investigate them.
But then, you really can't do that, can you? There's too much of a risk that you'll find Obama culpable for something.

Bullies hate people who fight back. You may get your ass kicked once or twice, but eventually it's no longer worth the cost for them to continue to bully you.
These reporters aren't upset that the administration acts this way. They're upset that it's doing so towards them.

They see the polls and the newsies ain't too respected these days. So they'll trot out the "we was abused" scenario. Then they'll claim to be going after him but slowly and without much affect.
Lo and behold they will suddenly realize that they are the investigators of the people and by god they have to do their duty regardless of their personal like for the President but they have to be the loyal opposition.
Just in time for a Republican presidency of course. They'll figure everyone who cares will just ignore that they share a responsibility for where we are now and the state of the economy.
Let's not let them get away with this. Let's try and elect at least someone who's not in love with their public persona and believes that the press are just doing their job.
They're doing a job alright; a hit job. Any Republican who doesn't understand this doesn't deserve to be elected. or Re-elected for that matter.

I think there are two things at work here.
1. The 'press' generally agrees with Obumble and his clown-car administration, and accept the gentle reprimands from them with the grace, and poise that only a truly convinced useful idiot is capable of.
2. There's one Woodward, and tens of thousands of nameless nobodies out there, that are easily cowed by their employers. I'm pretty sure getting your TV station, Paper, or other news organization disinvited from Obama's Self Love Demonstrations is not exactly 'career enhancing'. The word from on high comes down to the lowly pleeb...."Shut the fuck up", and they meekly shut the fuck up.

The question, here, is who doesn't have the power. See, I suspect the people interviewed for the story really don't. I suspect they'd find themselves out of jobs if they did what would be useful for stopping this crap. I bet their bosses are just fine and dandy with the current arrangement.
Of course, Lauraw is correct that the media has the power in general, but I suspect these specific reporters don't really.
OTOH, it's not impossible for a reporter to make a living free-lance. So there's that option, too.

They knew about the bullying tactics...they aided and abetted them, even participated in them, against conservatives.
They just didn't think that the bullying would be directed towards them.
It's like when a schoolyard bully has his/her group of followers.
They are all too eager to assist in the bullying of others.
But are surprised, when they become the target of it.

They don't treat him as special needs in mho.
He has been treated from the Get Go as their savior and messiach , That he will bring to them their desires.
They themselves encouraged this message.
I have no sympathy, They have made the country dangerous, they have helped make the citizen shrink in meaning. THEY have, not we.

Which is probably why the party/company bosses are preventing their reporters from doing any serious investigation/reporting.
With due respect to Sharyl Atkinson, no one (who anyone recognizes) is holding the Administration accountable for anything. CBS has the scoop of a generation- The Admin literally left those men to die- and basically the only publicity she can get for it is her own twitter account.
Do you think CBS would do anything less than wall-to-wall coverage if TFG were a Republican?

But you do have the power. INVESTIGATE THEM. When they lie to you, or to people on the social media sites, make a public stink about it. Dog them, and they will fear you, and will be nicer to you. It is, after all, your damn job.
Modern "journalists" think "investigative reporting" means, "Harass business people, some of whom are legitimately shady, and get them shut down." Harass government? Pfft! That's just silly!

As for the Press -- sucks to be you, doesn't it? To quote Angel, "I just can't seem to care."
You fuckers got him elected and re-elected. You fuckers covered for him for every racist, incompetent, or Marxist thing he did. You fuckers let him do to others (and you did it yourselves) what he's now doing to you.
You fuckers OWN this. Aside from Sharyl Atkinson, the rest of you on the national level can sleep in this ever-so-uncomfortable bed you made. And when you think you have the balls to criticize a Republican President (if we ever have free elections again), I and hopefully many, many others will be there to remind you how fucking unprofessional you were for eight years -- every damn time you step out of line and editorialize.
Report. The. Facts.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Oh, boo to the hoo.
White House: No 'set price" to meet with Obama
Story's at Politico, so they get no link from me. It's linked over a Drudge if you must click.
..."But, again, any notion that there's a price for meeting with the president is simply wrong," [Carney] added.
Carney's comments followed critical weekend editorials from The New York Times and The Washington Post. Major donors will get spots on an advisory board that will have regular meetings with the president, "behavior that has become all too common in this town and carries more than a whiff of influence-peddling," the Post editorial board said.
The Times was more blunt, writing that a spot on the advisory board "is nothing more than a fancy way of setting a price for access to Mr. Obama."...
Cry me a fucking river. Goons.

<blockquote>Barack Obama and Me
Comments (0) By Todd Spivak Wednesday, Feb 27 2008
It's not quite eight in the morning and Barack Obama is on the phone screaming at me. He liked the story I wrote about him a couple weeks ago, but not this garbage.
During his seven-year tenure in the Illinois Legislature, Obama wrote an occasional column for the Lakefront Outlook community newspaper where I worked. In 2004, during his U.S. Senate bid, I profiled Obama for the Illinois Times.
Months earlier, a reporter friend told me she overheard Obama call me an asshole at a political fund-raiser. Now here he is blasting me from hundreds of miles away for a story that just went online but hasn't yet hit local newsstands.
It's the first time I ever heard him yell, and I'm trembling as I set down the phone. I sit frozen at my desk for several minutes, stunned.
