Alec Baldwin, Known Racist and Gay-Hater, To Host MSNBC Show
— Ace

What will the show be called?

I have a suggestion. Given the fact that it is only a matter of time before Alec Baldwin calls his critics "coons," "queens," or implies they're dykes, MSNBC should just cut out the middleman and call the hour-long program what it will eventually be called anyway:

A Heartfelt Apology to Our Gay and Minority Viewers
with Alec Baldwin

Paula Deen lost everything, but Alec Baldwin has paid no price at all for his serial deployment of forbidden slurs. Know this, and Know That They Protect Their Own.

Because people who are on TV are Dumb, and Dumb is Easy, and Easy is Holy, so by the commutative property of mathematics, People On TV are Holy.

Paula Deen Was on TV Too: A commenter notes this. Yes, I was trying to make a point about Baldwin being mobbed up with the NBC tv and corporate crew -- he hosted Saturday Night Live twenty or more times and so knew all the people in the building. I imagine he got heavily drunk with suits a time or two.

Plus, being a Handsome Person from Hollywood, he was infusing their lives with a little frisson of celebrity when he would gift them with his presence, and apparently they still haven't gotten over being star-struck.

People in the media are starf***ers. That's why they're there. They want to be Among the famous, or famous themselves, and anyone who wants to be famous himself considers fame a virtue and therefore Alec Baldwin has virtue.

Or at least he had it during the 80s and 90s. Close enough.

The problem with Paula Deen is that she took all the criticism to heart.

She should have siad it was long ago, and another time, and it was wrong then and now.

And then ..no more comment..

I do not get the piling on of Paula Deen.   She is a lifelong Democrat supporter.   The only thing I could think of is some cracker, some where, was going to pay for Zimmermans acquittal and Deen was an unfortunate victim of timing.

"Anderson Cooper has a job to do," the 55-year-old "30 Rock" actor told Stern, according to Towleroad and Joe. My. God. "And that job is to try to reinforce his credibility in the gay community after the fact that you couldn't get him out of the closet for 10 years with a canister of tear gas. Referring to Stark as "a toxic little queen," Baldwin then threatened to put his foot up the writer's "a**," before he noted, "I'm sure you'd like it too much."

Baldwin quickly apologized for the controversy that ensued, saying his tweets didn't have anything to do with "issues of anyone's sexual orientation," according to the Associated Press.

Last night on ESPN, Keefus looked drug through the dirt. An emotionless, timid shell.

Cut   Keefums some  slack. He'd found his rubber  ducky drowned in the bathtub earlier that day.

114 >>>And know that the Republican Party and "conservatives" do not.

This is a virtue of ours, not a vice.  I have no interest whatsoever in protecting the racists, idiots, or political failures on my team.

How many times do I have to repeat it: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LOYALTY IN POLITICS.

You know why Democrats/liberals cover for their own?  Because they can get away with it, and they don't want to unnecessarily waste human resources.  Not because they place a higher value on 'loyalty' than conservatives.  Simply because they know that they control the levers of influence -- namely, the media -- and can 'surround' a story in many (but not all!) cases.  I guarantee you that if we lived in an alternate dimension where Republicans and conservatives controlled the mainstream media and could direct their firepower onto gaffing Democrats, the Dems would be every bit as brutal and unsentimental about cutting loose their fuckups.  And we would be the ones successfully guarding "our own."

The moral of the story is that there is NO underlying virtue to loyalty in politics.  It gains you nothing, not with anyone except the simps who would have voted for you & your party no matter what.    It's all about power differentials.  If you embarrass us, and the situation can't be recovered, you got to go.  Don't matter what you did before.  So watch your fucking mouth.  If you have a problem with that, you're playing the wrong game.

155 After attending the funeral in Manhattan, the Daily Mail ran a story by writer George Stark claiming that BaldwinÂ’s wife, Hilaria, was updating her Twitter feed throughout the ceremony. Baldwin didnÂ’t exactly take kindly to the accusation and tore into Stark on Twitter, at one point physically threatening the author.

“I'm gonna find you, George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I'm gonna f---k ... you ... up,” Baldwin tweeted. But he didn’t stop there.

Check out the rest of BaldwinÂ’s tweets directed at Stark and the Daily Mail below.

“If put my foot up your f---king ass, George Stark, but I'm sure you'd dig it too much.”

“My wife and I attend a funeral to pay our respects to an old friend, and some toxic Brit writes this f---king trash.”

“I want all of my followers and beyond to straighten out this f*cking little bitch, George Stark.”

“George Stark, you lying little bitch. I am gonna f%#@ you up.”

“Someone wrote that my wife was tweeting at a funeral. Hey. That's not true. But I'm gonna tweet at your funeral.”

Nearing the end of his tirade, Baldwin announced that he would be leaving Twitter, maybe forever as a result of the rant.

186 Baldwin Blames Financial Crisis on Clinton, Dems and Barney Frank

GARRY SHANDLING, COMEDIAN: Is it as simple as George Bush doesn't listen to Suzy Orman who has the simplest, little basic laws like "Don't spend more than you have?" So, you go back to the war. Don't you go back to the war?

ALEC BALDWIN, ACTOR: That Suzy Orman knows her stuff, I'll tell you. She does.

SHANDLING: Alec, what did..What, what did you say?

BALDWIN: I said that Suzy Orman knows some stuff, she really does. You can't deny that. But I want to say one quick thing. I just blew his mind.

SHANDLING: Hold on...

BALDWIN: I wanted to pull the camera away, so I just threw that dirt in his face.

SHANDLING: I said you're aggressive.

BALDWIN: I put the rosin on my glove.

SHANDLING: I love it. C'mon, let's get it on.

BALDWIN: Let's get it on.

BILL MAHER, HOST: What is your...

BALDWIN: I'm gonna rape you...The, the thing we have to remember, a friend of mine who is very close to the financial community in New York pointed out that Democrats have a lot of the responsibility for this as well. I mean, it was Clinton who killed the Glass-Steagall, and it happened under a Democratic president. Barney Frank and his committee, they, they kept propping up Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac saying everything's fine, everything's fine, everything's good. And it was his job to know everything wasn't fine. And Barney Frank let you down and let us down as well. And so, but I want to say there's blame to go both ways. But I will say, I want to, I maybe keep beating this to death, but I still think anyone in this Congress who voted to add $140 billion to that bill, they should be ashamed of themselves. That is a disgrace. It's a disgrace. This Congress is a disgrace, Democrat and Republican.

We laugh about Baldwin, but say what you want about 'progressive' Left politicians and pundits: at least they believe in what they're saying and doing. They have a cause, one in which they are completely invested, and are unabashedly, passionately partisan when promoting its aims.

The GOP Establishment, on the other hand, seems to have adopted the British Tory model and attempts to sell its members as the better, more efficient and cost-conscious managers of the socialist superstate. They also promote policies guaranteed to keep them on top of the party hierarchy, such as 'immigration reform', which appeal to big money Republican donors hot for some of that sweet, cheap labor.

Don't blame you if you don't know what that is, but it's a daytime talkshow (of sorts) on ABC that really isn' tooo bad. Iron Chefs Mario Batali And Michael Simon, a hottie, etc... I didn't hear any mention of his racist mom, but it's the first I've seen or heard of any of them in public since that pathetic apology tour of hers. Also, didn't i read that she has a higher approval rating than BHO recently? Given time, i think she'll be fine. Hope so, anyway.

The dizzying strategic incompetence of the RNC and its fellows comprising the GOP Establishment makes my head hurt. The only explanation for not going after what used to be called 'Reagan Democrats' or 'Blue Dog Democrats' is that Country Club Republicans fear an expansion of the socially conservative base, where many of these former Democrats would eventually gravitate.

Think about it: it can't be fun being a Democrat opposed to abortion. We could have those people if we just extended our hand.
