— Ace MSNBC has apparently fired Alec Baldwin over his gay-baiting insults of a papparazzi.
Still on the payroll, as @benshapiro and others point out: Martin Bashir, who recently suggested truly vile things be done to Sarah Palin.
But Sarah Palin isn't a core demographic for MSNBC, so Game On.
Alec Baldwin is a horrible, horrible person. You knew that, I'm sure. But you probably wouldn't have guessed it would come to this:
“The decision has been made. He’s gone,” an insider at the cable channel told me. “The [parent company] Comcast guys have decided. Word is spreading through the building.”Baldwin’s dismissal was decided on partly because of his diva-like behavior toward co-workers, a source said.
Besides demanding a humidifier because he claimed the air at 30 Rock was too dry, Baldwin alienated staffers when he demanded a separate makeup room being used by a woman with cancer who is sensitive to hairspray.
When Baldwin was told he couldn’t have his way, he allegedly bellowed at the top of his lungs, “I don’t give a f - - k if she has cancer or not, I want that f - - king makeup room.”
Baldwin's career has been over for a while -- yes, he was okay on 30 Rock, but few watched that -- but this should be the final nail in the coffin.
I imagine Sylvester Stallone will try to get him for The Expendables 4 (if the third one makes money).
But Alec Baldwin was never really an action movie star. And it's going to be kind of hard to play a Tough Guy Action Hero when your two most famous quotes involve, first, calling your young daughter a "thoughtless little pig" because she didn't call you when you were expecting, and two, screaming things like this:
“I don’t give a f - - k if she has cancer or not, I want that f - - king makeup room.”
Yeah, it's hard to really project the Action Hero persona when you're screaming about a make-up room and not caring about whether the woman using it has cancer or not.
You can't even credibly play a Tough Guy Action Villain, either. The guy who played Hans Gruber was never widely quoted as saying, "Get me some f---ing mascara STAT because I want my g--damn eyes to f---ing POP!!!"
Meanwhile, Obama also doesn't care if that woman has cancer or not.
[Debra] Fishericks is (a) fighting kidney cancer, (b) loves her soon-to-be-canceled employer-based coverage, (c) can't find an affordable policy on Obamacare's exchange that allows her to keep her doctors, and (d) tearfully frets that the new regime will be so punitive and expensive that she won't have enough money to visit her beloved grandchild. A genuine parade of horribles. Fishericks' experience shreds four core promises of Obamacare: She can't keep her plan, she can't keep her doctor, she can't afford the new options, and she falls beyond the administration's "five percent" deception. She's one of the millions who will lose their group coverage status over the next few years.

Maybe this is just me, but it would never dawn on me to demand a humidifier from my employer if I actually needed one. I'd be buying one online and having it shipped to my office.

Alec Baldwin calling someone a fag means his career is over. Roman Polanski drugging and raping an underage girl is still super awesome. So is Woody Allen for fucking his adopted daughter.

I never watched 30 Rock but Baldwin has always been good on screen: Glengarry, The Departed, Hunt for Red October. Heck, he's even good in the credit card commercials.
Who cares if he's a miserable shit as a human being? He's an entertainer.

I hate how I live in a world where Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey *in real life* cancel out my vote, but damn if I don't miss 30 Rock.
Unlike liberals, I don't care what a person's private political views are unless they are a, you know, *actual politician*. Alec Baldwin could be Karl Marx reincarnated for all I care as long he makes me laugh.

At least, that's what North Carolina Democrat Senator Kay Hagan is doing. She, like most of her colleagues, promised time and again that you'd be able to keep your plan if you liked it. A reporter from ABC 11 in Raleigh asked her about this, and her answer is pretty amazing.
"You know," Hagan said" You look back at the insurance companies. For three years [they] sold these policies without telling the consumer that they would have to be cancelled."
Basically, what Hagan is saying is "Don't blame me. Insurance companies never told you I was lying, so my lies were allowed to be presented as fact. Therefore, all of this is the insurers fault. They deceived people by letting them believe Democrat lies."

I talked to her a week ago, and she neglected to tell me she was in hospice.
Her husband told me she then went downhill quickly after that, and got to the point where she could no longer speak or respond to people.
When you get to that point, "endeavoring to persevere" is more unpleasant than the alternative, so it's with mixed emotions that I post this.
We were "estranged" -- I hadn't talked to her in 10 years for multiple personal reasons.
This would have been a classic "death panel" case, though, because it appears everything went back to intravenous drug use from 40 years ago, which nobody but me knew about (everyone else involved is already dead).
She'd been married 21 years to a guy who straightened her out.

152 It's astonishing how quick Comcast caved to leftist pressure about Baldwin. For something he said off aid, compared to what their hosts say on air that's 10x worse.
But it does show they are vulnerable to pressure.
Seemingly only gay pressure.

I think his vile screed was just a bit of cover they could use to boot his ass out the door. It's not like he's never had a very public, very vulgar, racist/misogynistic/homophobic rant before. They knew they were getting that when they hired him.
I'm fairly certain the REAL reasons he got fired were shitty ratings (because there is not a show on MSNBC that doesn't have shitty ratings) and diva behavior. When the best you can say about your lineup is, "Rachel Maddow only gets curbstomped by Megyn Kelly! She doesn't get curbstomped AND bitchslapped!" then there's no reason to hang on to an expensive blowhard who's going to cost you advertisers and get you lots of angry phone calls from militant gays.

The Yugo. The pinnacle of automotive imperfection. The gold standard of inferior craftsmanship that gave off the impression “of something assembled at gunpoint.” It’s the car that all crappy, poorly made subcompacts strive to be when they grow up. The engine had a tendency of not working, bits of the car would fall off, and the electrical system seemed to be more for show than anything else. “Yugo” was probably an ambitious statement in this case.

If you look at the evidence, Ponzi himself didn't know his scheme was a scheme until the money ran out and he could no longer pay investors. Clueless all the way. That doesn't excuse what Ponzi did but anyone who took a close look at his operation would know something was up. Same with Bernie Madoff more recently, although--unlike Ponzi--Madoff is indeed a filthy, evil bastard who loved fleecing the rubes.

Not because he is a liberal crapweasel but I always found the characters he played always to be Alec Baldwin. Meaning I see Alec Baldwin playing a character. To be fair, there are only a few actors that can escape that criticism.

They have no reason to even care how much they lose on their political programing. In the U.S. you only need to swing an election by getting your pol 1 more vote than the other pol -- and every politician knows it.
These divisions are about owning the politicians by at least creating the belief that they can sway elections. Once you own the politicians, you own the taxpayers and that where the real money is.

"Unruly" crowd attacks border patrol agents[/b[]
NBC San Diego: http://tinyurl.com/olbsunb
A crowd of more than 100 people pelted Border Patrol agents with rocks and bottles as they tried to cross into the U.S. illegally, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The incident happened Sunday in the Tijuana River channel, near the San Ysidro Port of Entry.
According to CBP, a Border Patrol agent ordered the Mexican nationals to stop, but they continued walking into the U.S.
Officials said the agent fired a PepperBall Launcher, but it did not deter the crowd.
“They had their phones out so this group was out to spark an incident. That's what they wanted to do, “ Border Patrol Union representative Gabriel Pacheco said...
I love that. "They had their phones out." But aren't they coming here for a better life? They can afford video phones, but they're coming to this country for opportunity? Fucking assholes.

Look, 30 Rock was great. Alec Baldwin is a butthead, but his acting talent is such that he was able to play a funny butthead for however many seasons it was. That show had high-level humor and no canned laffter. We need more like it.
That said, I agree with Ann Coulter. Baldwin's being punished for being politically incorrect. Period.
Hell, that fotog wasn't even a real fag.

Baldwin's firing shows MSNBC is not immune to pressure.
Obviously they've been able to resist the pressure we've brought so far.
I'm just trying to think of other, possibly more effective, ways to fuck them over. Posted by: Flatbush Joe
You really think they would ever see something wrong with a black guy fantasizing about a white lady getting pooped on? Because SLAVERY!

The approved MSNBC gay-baiting term is calling people tea-baggers.

Now I know why he was so good at those a**hole roles he played, like in Mercury Rising or Glengarry etc. Just played himself.
