Just who I am. Just like Obama’s is. Obama provides hope. Whether he does anything, the hope that he provides for a nation, and outside of America is enough.”

Exactly, the sneeze wine!

By they way, my pediatric dentist growing up was quite often drunk. Nice man, but seriously, 8am is a little early to be drinking. At least he smelled better than my parent's dentist, who was Greek and insisted on eating as much garlic as he could before 8am. By noon it was coming out every pore. You always wanted the morning appointments because at least the garlic was still fresh...

110 >>97 Is Malbac (sp?) a dry or sweet type wine? This one was somewhat "jammy." Pretty deep fruit (not sweet though) compared to the pinot noirs I've had. It went very well with my (pretty rich) tomato sauce.

111 Is Malbac (sp?) a dry or sweet type wine? I am looking to expand my wine repertoire. I like Pinot Grigio and the one that sounds like a sneeze. Two of my favorite wines are blends though, Conundrum and Lucky Evolution. I am also really enjoying the Middle Sister series of wines. Their labels and catch phrases are what drew me to them--plus they are cheap at Target. Posted by: ParanoidGirlInSeattle at July 29, 2013 09:09 PM (RZ8pf) It's a red. Tends to have both fruit and a bit of spice. It's definitely not sweet. I've paired it with everything from peanut butter cups (and Buckeyes!) to steak. You can get whites from Argentina, but they're harder to find. If you want to try another red, you may want to give Grenache a shot. The SO's dad is a Pinot Grigio drinker but I let him try Grenache and he loved it.

@97 Do you like sweet or dry. If the latter, stay away from German whites, especially anything with a variant of the word "lese," i.e. Spaetlese, Auslese, etc. Too sweet for me. French Cabernets, Medocs and Pinot Noirs from Bordeaux really kick tail for dry reds and you can find them for less than 20 bucks a bottle usually, at least here in Flyover Country.

It's closer to Merlot of Cab than anything else, it's sometimes used in blends.

...so among everything else, I have awesome taste buds.

I went to a winery in Door County last week, since Fruend had noticed we go to a lot of wine-producing areas but never actually drink wine.  After tasting all the ones made with grapes trucked in from other states, we settled on a bottle of the local cherry wine, which tasted like juice.  And then we never managed to pour it into plastic glasses and take it down to the hot tub (where I was extremely unconcerned about how I looked in my bathing suit, lol) because while we had three church keys between the two of us, neither of us had a corkscrew.  Usually the wine in my fridge doesn't need one.
