Simplicity is elegance, and he does the same simple 4-5 gestures over and over (shhh, circle, Hook em Horns, etc.). Unless it's like Chinese, and I just don't get the nuances.

Heh- he could have translated the entire speech using symbols from the Big 12 Conference- Gig 'em, Hook'em Horns, six guns, whatever that TCU horned frog sign is. That would have been cool.

Loved the movie but it wasn't a Gladiator ref. (He's not my enemy, though he called me his.) It's going to happen, and when he meets all those newborn babies he voted four times to shove into closets to die, the Day will not be pleasant for the tinpot Messiah.

I'll bet the Horde could come up with some useful sign language gestures.
I'm thinking the hand in the armpit, 'fake fart' gesture could cover most of Biden's statements.

What's left are probably old docs that got a life membership waaaay back when they did that.
I'll bet the new membership is just a few % and med libraries that want the Journal.

Yes, looks cool.
I was worried about the announcement of the title last year because it made it sound like another piece of leftie eco fiction.
Doesn't look like that at all. (he wrote, not prepared for the eventual fishslap to the face that awaited ... )
I dig Nolan. He's not perfect but he does interesting work. The Dark Knight was the ballsiest flick in years. I realize that many think Inception was too self-involved but I think it worked quite well once you got over it's clever-to-be-clever aspect.

Tubular steel stock, or possibly hardwood. Leaf spring from small car. Wire-rope bowstring. Powered cocking windlass made from weed-whacker engine driving planetary gearset from Harbor Freight ATV winch. Windlass gear operate a parallel pair of roller chains flanking the stock, equipped with hooks to pick up the bowstring, draw it back to the "nut", and release it there. Bolts in a hopper above the stock, mechanism driven by the windlass gears drops one bolt onto top of stack as bowstring is latched onto the nut. Pulling trigger releases catch on nut, allowing it to rotate to release bolt, same as on traditional crossbows. Holding trigger down opens throttle on engine, centrifugal clutch takes up, and bowstring is re-drawn. You would release trigger in order to re-cock it. Like a revolver works. Full-auto would take a little more doing, but ought to be possible. I figure the semi-auto as described ought to be good for at least 20 rounds per minute.

There was a show a few years ago on, I think, the History Channel where Mike Loades would have this guy make modern versions of Medieval weapons, one of which was an automatic crossbow that they mounted on a truck and tried to shoot at targets as they drove by. The guy making the stuff was kind of a jerk and a lot of his thought process and the stuff he made was just plain stupid but I did watch the show.
