Another Hoax: Woman Pens Harrowing Account of Her Life in Abject Poverty; Gets $10,000 from Donors via GoFundMe; Turns Out To Be Middle Class and Educated in a Private School

The story went viral on the left, of course. Touré made the story the centerpiece of a broader call for helping the poor (i.e., redistribution of wealth).

Tirado’s republished confessional in The Huffington Post received more than 4 million views and was featured by MSNBC host Touré. He was clearly moved by the plight of this woman.

“Poverty is sticky,” the MSNBC host opined. “It clings to you, leaves physical markers on the body.” He singled out a portion of Tirado’s essay that was particularly sympathetic.

I have missing teeth and skin that looks like it will when you live on b12 and coffee, and nicotine, and no sleep. Beauty is a thing you get when you can afford it and thatÂ’s how you get the job you need in order to be beautiful.

But an investigation into TiradoÂ’s background by the Houston PressÂ’ Angelica Leicht revealed that the blog postÂ’s author is a private-school-educated Democratic activist who wildly exaggerated her circumstances. She owns a home as the result of her parentÂ’s generosity. She has worked in politics since 2004 and has called herself a private political consultant since 2010.

SheÂ’s married to a Marine, has met President [Barack] Obama while interning for a politician (who obviously wasnÂ’t disgusted by those rotten teeth), and has plenty of time to visit Las Vegas on vacation. And blog about her privileged life on WordPress.
She speaks both German and Dutch, and has a well-rounded political blog that ended in 2011. ItÂ’s also a blog where she quite plainly references being paid to win [political] races.

What's her defense? Well, the left has three go-to defenses when they're caught saying things which are either untrue or disgraceful.

1. "I was being satirical."

2. "I was just trying to 'start a dialogue.'"

3. "You misunderstood."

4. "I've been taken out of context."

She goes for 4 with a side of 3:

Corrected: I wrote that she'd gotten $10,000 in donations. That was way wrong.

She got $100,000.

And yet I still consider myself "middle class" (for now, I am oft reminded that if things don't get better I'm one bad outcome away from losing that title.) And I haven't taken much from my parents either (Obviously birthday gifts and the like, and the occasional dinner out with them.) So I'm poorer than this chick!

True story, my first job out of kollij they rented me out to a company that Obama visited in 2011 to fawn over their "green" shit...but 15 years prior they had me working in an office above a factory.  The carpet hadn't been cleaned since the Nixon administration, and in the 24/hr artificial light environment the cockroaches had evolved to where they just walked around wherever the fuck they pleased.

Cow-orker used to pick up the dead ones and leave them on the desk of our boss back at base.  After awhile, we started making little roach dioramas.  I made a cute set of cubicles out of file folders.


...but we went every fucking day, because it was a fucking job, and it was better than sitting around whining that other people weren't giving us free shit.

Andrea Brazier and Anthony Phillips, parents of former eighth-grade Lunenburg High School football player Isaac Phillips, reported finding a racial slur spray-painted on their house Nov. 15. Phillips is biracial, and the message said "Knights don't need n******."


A few days after the graffiti was reported, Superintendent of Schools Loxi Jo Calmes said Lunenburg High would forfeit all remaining football games for the season, including their Thanksgiving Eve game.


On Monday   (12/2), police announced that the Lunenburg High School football team had been cleared in the graffiti incident and that the investigation was still under way...



But they still got the rest of their season cancelled, didn't they?   Including their Thanksgiving game.      Because    guilty until proven innocent.    Very nice.

This man has run the same small business for the last 40 years. Every day, 6am to the office. Did I mention every day, yes even Sunday because he got the most work fine then because the phone didn't ring. Did I mention that he hadn't made any money in the business for the last ten years? Too much regulation and his business saw every level, the covenants from the developer, up thorough all the federal crap that business has to deal with. Why did he keep it going?? Because he had families depending on their insurance and paycheck. Every one of his workers had been there at least 16 years. I didn't think he owed them 100 hours a week in the office when he could have been in the golf course, but he did that for other people. And this bitch lives.

Lets see.  People are upset at being jacked for a lot of money from a person who lied to get what they wanted, and when people found out the person lied to get what they wanted, the liar basically excused the lie by stating, "you misunderstood me...that wasnt what I meant at all".  It all sounds so familiar somehow.
