— Ace Watch the video below.
@pspoole, who's liveblogging the demonstrations at PJM.
4:37p Tom Blumer at Newsbusters notes that the US establishment media is ignoring for the most part the anti-Obama, anti-American sentiment of the Tamarod protests.
...3:09p NBC is reporting that “tens of thousands” are out protesting against Morsi. Are they delusional or just outright lying?
2:58p Media reports are coming in with estimates of the crowd sizes across Egypt. Al-Masry Al-Youm cites experts that more than 17 million are in the streets today.
If they were looking to make a big appeal to the military to side with the majority, I think they accomplished that.
If they were hoping to get Obama's Palace Guards at NBC to notice a huge revolt against Obama's pro-Muslim Brotherhood foreign policy, then of course they failed.

Well, seeing as the American media reported the Tea Party rallies as "hundreds", I'm not surprised.

I mean, I get that the Jug-Eared Emperor has no clothes, no brains, and no morals, but has the Media given a single solitary thought to what happens when and if the overall mood changes? Say, when O-Care REALLY makes its presence known, or something?
How are they going to avoid the massive blowback of fellating this useless POS for years? It's not like NO ONE will notice the Egypt protests ...
Or am I both stupid and naive?

Well, they still got him reelected in 2012. The MFM can lie every day and by the time the next election comes up the idiot assholes will still believe then because they want their Free Shit and they forget how much the MFM lied to them the last time.

Morsi and his supporters are blaming the remnants of the Mubarak regime for sabotaging their efforts in the past year. Why is it do tyrannical regimes always blame someone else? Oh wait rhetorical question.

The tourist city of Luxor is a ghost town. Only five of 320 cruise ships that ply the Nile are still active. The Morsi appointed governor was chased out by protestors because he belongs to the group that attacked Luxor in 1997 killing 58 foreign tourists and 4 Egyptians.

The transparent partisanship of the American media is physically sickening to me. Tens of thousands of people marching through Egypt's streets, putting themselves and their families in danger to protest their unwanted gubmint, and where's the Amerian MFM? They were happy to send their people into the thick of the fray when the protesters tore down Mubarak; so why the hesitancy now? Could it be because their blessed Mocha Messiah helped install Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood in positions of power? Could it be because the Cappucino Caliph made a "famous" speech in Cairo that was supposed to heal the wounds between the West and the muslim worlds, which appears to have failed miserably? Could it be because the American MFM have their mouths so securely fastened to the Java Jefe's ass that they can only speak through his asshole?
I'll take all of the above.

Sort of. The effort lead by his son to reform the economy only seemed to benefit those close to him, but the reforms were in general working. Add in a disaffected educated class and the unpleasantness of military rule-and here we are. If Obama wants to prop up the regime they'd be gassing up C17s full of food.

I really hope that MEU and other American military assets are not used in Egypt.
Morsi won't ask for that help because then he is just a lapdog for the Great Satan. Which means he would need the military to prop him up as his radical supporters desert him.
Would the military support him though? Yes he has followed the Turkish playbook by locking up commanders but he has only been doing it for a year. So there would be a good chance the military would say no to Morsi and resist American intervention if the President still pushed it forward. This would catapult the Egyptian military back into the role of protecting the people and they do have an grudge to settle with Morsi because of those arrests.
Now look at the international repercussions. Even if dressed up as a humanitarian evacuation that Egypt refuses to grant permission to. If the US rams it forward, what image of the US does that present on the global stage? The US is a bully. So every radical Muslim will lap it up like fresh milk. Talk about bad optics for Mr. Peace Prize. But I bet him and his handlers will be stupid enough to push forward something worse than Desert One.

No, she has been the Amb to Egypt since 2011. She was in charge when the Embassy in Cairo apologised for the YouTube video BEFORE the protest even started (and, the video was pure subterfuge. I had read about it a day earlier and the reason for it. The protest had been planned for some time to demand the release of the Blind Sheikh. On the Saturday before the protest, a snippet of the video was played on an insanely extremist nut job's popular television show, but there was no protest on Saturday, Sunday or Monday. So much for the video inflaming the Egyptians).

I don't know anyone who's degree is at all relevant to the jobs they eventually took, beyond having one.
It's all a scam. They 'help' you by providing loans for the widely overpriced tuition (which continues to become even more overpriced because everyone has to pay whatever price the banks set by their willingness to lend) and then claim a cut of your earnings for 10-20 years. More if possible.
Peaches, I'm sorry you don't want to hear it, but the truth is, when your parents insist you go to college, and your counselors say you should do it, and all your friends are going, and obviously the student debt peddlers are full of promises, there aren't that many people at age 18 that are going to have the sense to say "No, this is stupid and I having no part of it."
The foolishness of youth that makes them targets for political predators makes them just as appealing to financial predators.

I'm surprised that they are covering it at all.
I remember when Nick Robinson was in Tahrir Square during the Arab Spring protests asking the people things like 'What do you have to say to President Obama?' 'Do you want to say thank you to President Obama?' 'Wouldn't you agree that, without President Obama's Cairo speech in 2009, the fall of Mubarak would never have happened? 'Don't you owe President Obama a depth of gratitude?'
The protestors looked at him like he was nuts and said 'President Obama didn't have anything to do with this. This has happened because of the Egyptian people.'
So, because the MSM is so far up Obama's ass and continuously claimed that the Egyptian Spring was the result of his efforts, I'm surprised that they would air anything considering it makes both them and Obama look like complete and utter incompetent fools.

True, but I think that they will give as little attention as is possible or circumstances require press.
It just doesn't look good for Obama or, to be fair, idiots like Billy Kristol, who went all-in for this Arab Spring clusterfuck.

the recessional hymn at Mass today was America the Beautiful...i began to cry as i sang it thinking of what our nation is becoming...God, please save our country.....
You have company. That always chokes me up so bad I can't even sing.
Going on a road trip this week. Dug up my CD of John Phillips Souza to take with. Always makes my heart swell.

Doesn't today's demonstration support Kristol's point?

'...Having said that, I think basically for the last three or four weeks the skeptics have been proven to be too skeptical. The naysayers who said it could never happen, it's going to be violent, his departure would mean the Muslim Brotherhood taking over or total chaos in the streets of Egypt, they have been proven wrong. And the notion that the Egyptian people have managed to pull off this democratic, peaceful removal of a dictator, and now have a seemingly a pretty stable situation in the streets of Cairo and the other big cities, with the guarantee or at least a promise of a transition to free and fair elections and no real sense that those elections are -- yet that the elections are going to go in some terrible direction for the U.S. or for Egypt itself.
I think this may be a case where the normal worldly pessimism is too pessimistic and the normal cynicism is too cynical, and one has a right to actually be hopeful about these developments in Egypt.'

Stalin was wrong. The important position is the one who picks the slate of candidates - they don't care who counts the votes, or how.

Lolz. I've had it on my blog for a long time with Bill Kristol in a klown suit (http://tinyurl.com/kmmmwga). I remember watching him say it knowing that those words were going to bitter for him to swallow in the future.

The whole show was bad -- not a conservative in sight. Worst -- McCain on Egypt -- quick dismiss and on to Syria. With hardly a nod to the millions of dollars and propaganda supporting Morsi and the MB.
Millions in the streets in Egypt -- barely a peep from MSM, libs or WH. Delusional and dangerous.
