AoSHQ Podcast: Special Guest, Citizens United's Brittany Cohan
— andy

In this episode, Ace Rick and the crew are joined by special guest Brittany Cohan, Deputy Communications Director at Citizens United.

They Bring It! on a variety of topics including the RNC's response to CNN & NBC's planned Hillary Clinton biopics, the administration's "smart diplomacy" failures with Russia (and everywhere really), Bob "Fingers" Filner, and the clown show that is MSNBC (Alec Baldwin and Joe Scarborough hardest hit).

The show ends on a lighter note, with a discussion of the new Dr. Who, television, and Brittany's first interaction with Ace Rick.

For Further Review & Study: Ace here. I mentioned this Carolla rip on Piers Morgan in the podcast. I've linked it before, but I like it a lot.

"Game on" as far as narcissism in America.

Look at what's in the White House. As we've all learned, Obama can give quite a good speech.

And also, he can do your jobs better than you can.

52 PGiS, to reply to your fashion inquiry on the prior thread, I think that jeans and a sparkly purple tank would be perfectly fine.   It's at a pub, they said casual on the invitation and nice jeans can look "dressier" than a pair of dress pants at times.   If you go dress pants, black is fine.

98 97 >> The slight southern twang guy?  Slight? I'd say that was me, but it ain't slight.  And ... yes ... we talked about this via email beforehand and you see what a good job we did identifying everyone.  Morons. What can I say?

Thanks Andy! Now I know who three of the speakrs are. And yeah, seemed like a pretty slight southern accent to me. I've lived in Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, and southeastern Texas... I've heard much stronger accents. "Ass" is at least two syllables some place down there. Has the same Y in it that "Damn" has, I believe.

99 87 ---"He hates manly men (that would include Putin) because he is a wimp." Posted by: Miss Marple at August 09, 2013 06:29 PM (GoIUi) ----------------------- There can be no doubt that Putin really hits a nerve with Obama, rather, a whole lot of nerves. Is it the spoiled brat who throws a tantrum when he finally runs into someone who won't give him his candy? Partly, I guess, but your take probably explains this as well as anything.

100 this probably isn't in the tape, but in the beginning I told Britany to not worry about listening because none of us listen, we just wait to talk.

So anyway gabe set her up with a tailor-made question about Citizens United and Hillary, and I TRIED TO TALK OVER HER, because I really wasn't listening, I was just waiting to talk.

Five seconds later I remembered what I hadn't heard the first time and thought, "Oh yeah, she should probably be permitted to field this one."

105 Ha, ace, I might have cut that bit of rudeness out as I was Bringing It!

Posted by: Andy at August 09, 2013 02:44 PM (4yFKY)

106 Into the podcast about half an hour now. Brittany's voice has lost most of that fry I was hearing earlier. It's almost like I type it here and thnx to Ace's nonexistent time machine, she is made aware of my comment.

Posted by: jwpaine @PirateBallerina at August 09, 2013 02:44 PM (/lWM8)

107 yeah, it plays but no sound.

Hmm,  try right-clicking the link and saving it to disk somewhere.  Then right-click the file and select open with, and try whatever players you have in that list.

You can hear sound on other things right?  Like watching a YouTube video, you can hear sound there?

108 OT German homeschooling family closer to deportation. When he's not setting up websites to "get" George Zimmerman or involved with F&F, etc. Holder spends some of his time trying to deport a homeschooling family, http://legalinsurrection.com/2013/08/german-homeschooling-family-closer-to-deportation/ If this case is won by the DOJ the Obama administration will go after homeschoolers next under the guise of "equal and fair" education and that homeschooling is not a right

111 Andy: who's the guy who talks real fast? The one who made the comment about Aaron Sorkin?

Posted by: jwpaine @PirateBallerina at August 09, 2013 02:49 PM (/lWM8)

112 anybody who listened to Zero's press conf knows how long winded he is

til he got a Q about Benghazi

his response to that Q was all of 106 words.

Well, I also said that weÂ’d get bin Laden, and I didnÂ’t get him in 11 months. So we have informed, I think, the public that thereÂ’s a sealed indictment. ItÂ’s sealed for a reason. But we are intent on capturing those who carried out this attack, and weÂ’re going to stay on it until we get them.

I will leave it at that. But this remains a top priority for us. Anybody who attacks Americans, anybody who kills, tragically, four Americans who were serving us in a very dangerous place, weÂ’re going to do everything we can to get those who carried out those attacks.

Then he changed the subject

113 And the glottal guy? I'm guessing that's "Rick" because he sounds like somebody who humps garbagecans. Just sayin'

Posted by: jwpaine @PirateBallerina at August 09, 2013 02:50 PM (/lWM8)

114 >> Andy: who's the guy who talks real fast? The one who made the comment about Aaron Sorkin? Drew, most likely. I don't remember the Sorkin reference.

No, Ace is the guy who sounds like Kevin Smith.  Fast Talker is Drew.

118 69 One more thing, personal to Ace (everyone else can skip it): Dude, you're astonishingly brilliant, but you speak in a monotone.

See how you talk after a 3 day Red Bull/Natural Ice bender sometime.

119 The line about shaving Chuck Todd's goatee made it all worth it.

Posted by: Splunge at August 09, 2013 03:13 PM (bKA83)

120 OK, I got which one's "Rick" now (by clever inferrence, connecting his posting of a link to Carolla to his mention of Carolla in the podcast). So, who's glottal guy?

So, I got, so far:
Slight southern drawl: Andy
Vocal Shock: Brittany
Fast talking no accent guy: Drew
normal (to me, hence, probably midwestern) guy: Gabe
flat, monotone guy (serious guy!): "Rick"

By process of elimination, then, Glottal guy must be John E.

121 Oh Em Gee! Five guys on the podcast, waiting with bated breath for the lone chick to respond to the question: "Do you watch Dr. Who?"!!!!!!

I spotted.
