AoSHQ Podcast: Special Guest, Noah Rothman
— andy

On today's episode, Andy, Drew M., John E. and Rick Tempest are joined by Noah Rothman, Editor at Mediaite. We discuss the latest on Syria, NBC's Harlequin romance novel-worthy analysis of Obama's body language, Crazy Uncle Ron Paul, the Democrats' core philosophy of Don't-you-dare-call-it-socialism! (but, yeah, it is) ... and how people are becoming conditioned to it, the kickoff of the 2013 football season, and Noah's piece on Maria Rodale's ridiculous open letter to Obama comparing chemical weapons to pesticides, which prompted an hilarious dramatic reading of this Salon piece - No, thanks: Stop saying “support the troops”.

12 Maria Rodale One lost soul with no scientific basis. If we didn't have genetically modified food we would be eating ears of corn the size of our finger. No insecticides? People would be dying of malaria. Oops. Got that one wrong. No insecticides? Less corn to burn in our cars. No fungicides? Ever heard of Ireland/potatoes? Many "pesticides" used today are less dangerous than aspirin. Look up LD50 and LC50 and compare.

29 WARSAW, Sept 4 (Reuters) - Poland said on Wednesday it will transfer to the state many of the assets held by private pension funds, slashing public debt but putting in doubt the future of the multi-billion-euro funds, many of them foreign-owned.

The changes went deeper than many in the market expected and could fuel investor concerns that the government is ditching some business-friendly policies to try to improve its flagging popularity with voters.

The Polish pension funds' organisation said the changes may be unconstitutional because the government is taking private assets away from them without offering any compensation.

... first they came for the Polish retirement funds, and I said nothing ....

31 Amen. I will continue to  support them in my prayers, whether or not those prayers go round and round in my head, or reach a higher power, but support them I shall.  I don't buy the cookies or candy bars at the Walgreens. No, thank you not today, is my typical reply. I never feel guilty. If there is any justice, then my thoughts of them are making their aim straighter, their senses keener, their eyes sharper, their hearts harder, and if not, then all is in vain anyway and this is all really just a dream after all.  I choose to believe that my prayers are way better than a candy bar or a cookie. God bless them all, wherever they may find themselves on this day.

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia — President Barack Obama, facing hardened international opposition to a strike against Syria and returning home to a skeptical American public, will address the country Tuesday to make his case.

Obama made the announcement Friday at a press conference before leaving a summit of the Group of 20 world powers in Russia. He said that Syria’s use of chemical weapons “isn’t just a Syrian tragedy. It’s a threat to global peace and security.”

You ARE pretty darn sharp to notice that  "the Democrats' core philosophy of Don't-you-dare-call-it-socialism! (but, yeah, it is) ... and how people are becoming conditioned to it..." but I always fail to see a follow up post about how you undo that.

Their socialism is all about giving to those that don't have and that IS a winning argument every time.  There are even plenty of people that can be influenced to believe there is something wrong with a system that allows a billionaire to exist (they're working to fix that) while hungry roam the streets.

If you would spend a little time on SOCIALISM and realize that it is supposed to fix it for Everybody maybe ....maybe...we could start winning these arguments.

A wage slave (ie. worker) has to take a W2 reporting their income and an independent contractor/investor has to take their 1099-MISC reporting income they earned.  WHERE IS THE 1099-GOV to report all the myriad 'income, redistributed' that government bestoes?

IF  a 4-person family deserves $1200/month in food assistance, shouldn't their 1099-GOV be matched by IRS deductions of the same amount for the WORKING person?

If that were the case, every additional entitlement would be for ALL the people and every increase mandated by Congress would conincidentally reduce the income (ie the real kind) subjected to their IRS depredations.

1099-GOV 1099-GOV 1099-GOV

Every single public entity in this country issues W2's and 1099-MISC.  The software is already running.  All we have to do is re-title the report and port the 'income, redistributed' into the system like all the other real income.

It could happen in two weeks.  Why are you resisting?
