I keep hearing about the     Louisville player with the "gruesome" injury, and I'm getting a little sick of hearing it described as "gruesome."    Yes, it was awful.   A compound fracture is, by any measure, not     something that anyone    can look at without feeling a LITTLE squeamish.   But    good Lord,    in    every   report I've been hearing about it    the    sportscasters    have been acting like  "NO ONE IN    THE     HISTORY OF THE WORLD  has EVER had a compound fracture before!"

Folks, it's a compound fracture.  The bone sticks out    through the skin.    It's    never NICE, but    it happens.    Can we stop acting like it's the most terrible thing to hit the    sports world since Christopher Reeve fell off    his horse please?

I hope the kid makes a fast and full recovery and is back and better than ever next year.

I think the depositors with more 100k Euros got 36.5% of their savings flipped into stock of the failing bank to prop it up.  And once they examine the bank's books, a further 23.5% of those accounts might get flipped into ailing bank stock to keep the bank from failing.

This is precisely what's worrying though.  Set aside for a moment the basic wrongness of this, and realize that even after a supposed "plan" either a) they have no idea how deep the whole is or b) they're being so opaque the media can't figure out what they're doing.

Either one of those is bad (on top of bad, for a double scoop of bad!)

Ok, on the Reason Article Re: Obama Care.

I have other legitimate concerns here.  As much as I just want to take a chainsaw to that law, I'm thinking repealing it is an all or nothing proposition though.

Getting rid of the individual mandate just plays into to crazed populism of the people.

"Awww this mandate hurts!"

"Fine we'll get rid of it, and you can keep all the goodies that you like."

No.  The American people voted for this SCOAMF, they get what comes with that.  Either repeal the whole damned thing (goodies and all) or keep it.

Plus, repealing the mandate is exactly what the progs seem to really want, since it'd hasten the collapse of insurance by opening the door to the free rider problem.  I want this whole f'ing law gone, not just the most unpopular parts.

But I also remember Pres. Clinton managed to funnel $40 billion to Mexico to bailout the Wall Street investor friends of Robert Reich.

Right now a Tijuana Savings and Loan is probably better run than that Cypriot bank that the EU, IMF, and other alphabets are throwing other peoples money into that bank's financial sinkhole in the hope of filling it.

So the woman    who    got beaten up on   that Chicago train    moved there four years ago from Nashville.   What on earth would possess a person to move TO Chicago?  I hope whatever it was, it pays well.

I love this part from the story:

It was the first warm night in a while and police believe that could have played a role in why so many teens gathered on Michigan Avenue. A mob-style environment developed and police were forced to shut down streets near Chicago and Wabash.

If this is how the animals in Chicago act on the first mildly warm evening of the year, just IMAGINE how much fun it'll be when it starts getting HOT.

And from what I've heard in other outlets, this wasn't just a random mob that materialized out of thin air.  Like so many of the flash robs from last year, this was aided by the use of social media.

Stay safe, Chicago-area 'rons.

106 (CBS) — The warmest day of the year so far brought hundreds of mischievous teens to Michigan Avenue on Saturday. Police were calling it “mob action.”

Assaulting people on the street. Such mischief.

Many innocent shoppers and tourists became caught in the middle of a very chaotic situation. Hundreds of teens littered Michigan Avenue and State Street near Chicago.

“You had a group of teens, close to maybe 500. They assaulted a Chicago police officer that was mounted on a horse and all of a sudden they assaulted a citizen walking the streets, just a normal citizen shopping and enjoying the weather,” said Holmes.

If Barry had 500 kids they'd look like that mob.

Charges range from battery and strong-armed robbery to reckless conduct.

Yep battery and strong armed robbery is just so much mischief

Turkish Muslims have declared victory after toy makers Lego agreed to withdraw a Star Wars product which allegedly depicted a mosque.

Critics claimed that the Jabba's Palace model, part of Lego's Star Wars range, was offensive to Muslims as it resembled the Hagia Sophia mosque in Istanbul - one of the world's most renowned mosques.

Lego's Katharina Sasse said:'We regret that the product has caused the members of the Turkish cultural community to come to a wrong interpretation, but point out that when designing the product only the fictional content of the Star Wars saga were referred to.'

But following a meeting between Turkish community leaders and Lego executives it was agreed that production of the toy would end from 2014 onwards.

Even though 100% of the perps were black.

And of course, they treat it as if it happened out of the blue, one time only.

Except that Kevin DuJan has been reporting about the black thugs that ride the public transport from the ghetto and take over the youth centers as a base of operations for their mugging, burglary and other crimes for some 4 or 5 years now.

Prepare your anus, people.

Good advice in any context.

167 The Bible actually doesn't say anything about jugging someone to be an idiot if they have nude photos on their cell phone. ;^) God loves Kate Upton. I am not requited to refrain from thinking that some actions would be idiotic regardless

I'm a lover not a fighter, but I'm also a fighter so watch it.

My comment on the previous thread was that there   is so much     compound stupid    tied up in that tweet that the power of it actually knocked a satellite out of orbit.

A squared-away cornhole is like money in the bank.

Well, unless you're in Cyprus, of course.

174 #115  I happened to read that CBS story yesterday.  Reporter was of same race as the perps.  Hence, "mischievous."

And of course, it wasn't some random group of surfer dudes or FFA members.

175 This Duncan Shiek moron -- a rich kid with one non descrip hit (lord knows why) almost 17 years ago. He's 43 years old with no career. But, he still has his parent's money I suppose. His next project is American Psycho - the musical. Sheesh!

177 I love Chicago. It was my adopted Big City even before I met my Chicago-native wife. Her family are deep Chicago. Irish-Catholic West Siders (until the red zoning). We moved there in 1980. All our kids were born there. We moved out nineteen years ago... yesterday. Had to make some hard changes to do so, and our new life was never as comfortable or balanced as our life in the windy city; I regret much in life, but not that move. I weep for Chicago, as Jesus wept for doomed Jerusalem. Yes, its corrupt kings and dependent class chose to burn, but I would not wish it for all the good people who live there.

All of us down at the Brattleboro WomanÂ’s Reproductive and Pregnancy Decision Center were so happy and proud of hoe thw annual easter Egg hunt turned out.  We made Easter Eggs out of biodegradable produts filled with coupons to the Brattleboro Hellth Food store. I think the children wanted candy, but we did not give chocolate or high sugary type of products so that thre can grow up and bu happy and hellthy tax payers for Vermint. One lucky child found the prize winning egg and received a immitatation autographed picture of Presdent Obama. I think the child was dissappointed because they wanted something bad for their hellth like a chocolate rabbit or something. Everybody had fun in celebration of Presdent Obama, his Hellthcare law which gives us free hellth care on that Easter Day holiday.

Why does the RNC need to waste money on entertainers, anyway?  No one tunes into the convention to watch them, and they aren't even advertised.

On second thought, maybe they should advertise the entertainers to get low-info types to tune in.
