But, if you're geeky, then this is just an embarrassment of riches.
I haven't seen this kind of sci-fi/fantasy/Android Cop kind of schedule since I was younger told by a much-older brother about the sci-fi/superhero craze of the late seventies which I totally know nothing about first hand being far too young to have seen it firsthand.
Eh, I don't want to encourage people to watch TV. But you don't listen to me anyway.
Is this all, ultimately because of Doctor Who? I don't watch a lot of TV (he lied) but I'm having trouble of thinking of other big-hit sci-fi/fantasy shows that would justify this newest craze.
Maybe the Hunger Games plus Twilight? Or them, plus the Marvel movies?
The reason I mention Doctor Who is just my personal memory -- when I started watching it, after years of avoiding that type of show, I thought, "Oh right, I used to like this sort of action-adventure-fantasy sort of thing, so long ago."
So long ago, when my much-older brother (seriously, there was like a 10 year gap, at least; maybe 20) relayed the plots of old episodes of the Six Million Dollar Man.

At the end of the day, zombie TV shows and movies are pretty much dumb. They are some kind of metaphor for "us versus them", and justifying killin' folks on account of their dietary choices.

I believe it's because of the dearth of any good sci-fi lately that we may see a new 'craze'. Was only a few years ago we had on a Friday night on Sci-Fi channel Stargate: SG1, BattleStar Galactica, Doctor Who on at the same night. Also on TV at the time were Stargate Atlantis, Smallville, Babylon 5 (well, that had ended after its 5 year arc, but was still being rerun), Eureka, that one show with the chick who was dead and a reaper...
There used to be a goodly number of quality sci-fi on the tube and its been all crap for the last couple years. 'Cept for Dr. Who. Smallville rocked also.
No, I don't watch a lot of TV either.

Miller's Sherlock is more likeable than Cumberpatch's, I think. BC's way makes him out to be more Asperger-ish. Miller's is a little more "approachable". Both shows have their strengths, but I would go with Elementary just for the reason that shows are being made. Moffat is taking his sweet time coming up with more eps and it sucks.
Lucy Liu as Watson, however, sucks. Horribly miscast.

Which is, heresy of heresies, a weakness with Sherlock stories. If you are using another character simply as a sounding board, you might just be a hack. At least the Downey/Law movies tried to give Watson something to do.

Then she's wasted as a character on the show. She does little more than follow Sherlock around and help with the medical side of investigations. Now that we're into the "Moriarty" territory, it'll get interesting. I think Liu gets kidnapped like Irene Adler did and Miller has to find her before she ends up the same way.
Also, Miller's Sherlock seems to be a more accurate replica of the character from lore, i.e. drug-addled, whoring, etc. Cumberpatch is clean as a whistle and has no apparent weaknesses or flaws.

I have the (2) episodes of Amerikans dvr'd. Planning on viewing tomorrow. My fave is Justified.
BOLO for Keri Russel's very nice po-po in the first episode of The Americans. The second episode has scary warnings for, well, pretty much everything they can fit on the screen, including nudididity. Close inspection revealed exactly none.

Elementary has it. Johnny Lee Miller (who used to shag Angelina Jolie before Brad Pitt) does a really good job of the fast-talking, quick deducing Holmes.

Much as I enjoy Rifftrax, they keep coming back to the same stable of jokes; Pop Reference, Internet Meme Reference, Generic Joke, Kevin sings...and it feels like Nelson is the only one doing any writing.
CT just makes me laugh more consistently; the jokes have better variety, are much better observations about the movie being watched and also include the smattering of pop references and internet memes.
Oh and one thing Rifftrax will absolutely not do is any kind of risky humor, such as racial jokes. CT has no problem with that, and their targets are everyone.

There's been an American series with that premise as well. Mann and Machine aired back in the mid-80s, but only lasted for a single season.
Of the new crop at the link... maybe some of them will be good. But I'm already feeling pretty negative about most of them. The only one that I'm hyped about right off the bat is the potential SHIELD series, which seems pretty likely to air given the information provided on it.

She is very cute, but I will never get the nausea-inducing "Felicity" out of my head.
I totally mised that. Her character in TA is interesting as she's very very patriotic and will do anything (including sex) to complete her mission. The writers are careful to let her humanity through occasionally, as with her husband/fellow KGB agent.
In fact, it was her patriotism that suprised me, even though it is for Mother Russia. Plus, the soundtrack is great, too. And it's the original performances, not bad studio wanna-be ripoffs.

Days of Our Lives: Part of the NBC Pantheon of soap operas which included not only Days, but The Doctors, Another World, and Another World Somerset.
I used to watch the entire NBC line-up every afternoon, wasting 3 1/2 hours of my life every day. Back in the 80's I gave up soaps for Lent (don't laugh) and it improved my life tremendously. Never watched them again.
However, I could still give you the characters and plot lines. Pathetic, but true.

I worked with two (younger, heterosexual) engineers who taped it daily a few years back. I could not believe they would tape that drivel, but they did. Actors on that show start young and die of natural causes in real life.

They decided a long time ago not to do them in any particular order to keep from having "Joel' and 'Mike' sets. There are also complications with the rights on a lot of the movies. 'Catalina Caper' couldn't even be shown on TV for a long time because the original owners sprang out of the woodwork and wanted a big piece of the action.
You better off just downloading one of the monster torrents for the whole series, including the Season 0 that only played in Minnesota before they got picked up by Comedy Central to take it national. The complete torrent will be about 83 GB. Just remember to buy a box set occasionally to reward the creators. Better yet, RiffTrax and Cinematic Titanic will take donations on their sites, understanding that trying to fight the torrents is a lost cause.

I usually have three to five tabs here open. Mom may have been crazy but she made me a hell of a reader. Sounds like a good meal.
I sometimes like to chip beef into a nice virgin olive oil base with some garlic, sweet basil, and onions brought to a nice simmer then after they are snap fried you grind oregano cloves onto the oil and serve as finger food.
When I get insomnia I get hyper ridiculous...I can usually stay coherent up to about 2200 posts a week....I get above 2500 I am doing the equivalent of giggling at the moving air in the room

Dark Shadows used to mess with my head. The lead actress had one of those faces that look like a different person's face from every angle. That's the only time I've ever seen that on TV. Watching it was like constantly re-failing a neuropathology test.

the people who create these shows are raging progressives who always infuse their political ideaology into their work whether it be conscious or unconscious. Progressivism is a small, petty and regressive ideaology and so shows produced by the progressive mind have those same faults, these shows are petty, unimaginative and small in scope.
the progressive mindset is unable to cope with the thematic expansiveness and freedom inherit in the genre.
