— andy Wait. What?
The NRA has a wine club?
After discovering that the NRA was selling four of its wines on the club’s international list, winemaker Yalumba is seeking to detach itself from the NRA, Fox News reports.“Philosophically, I’m not disposed towards the NRA, which runs counter to my family’s, and I would think all my employees’, positions on gun laws,” Yalumba founder Robert Hill Smith said. “We will act to withdraw our stock or at least not service the account any longer.”
As one who is partial to the grape (but just the red ones), I will be joining the NRA Wine Club today. And I encourage you to as well.
Tomorrow's Guns & Hunting Thread will include a list of companies like Buffalo Wild Wings, Intuit and Yalumba winery (whose wine, I'm sure, sucks) that you should consider steering your dollars away from.

And as always, in any discussions of boycotts, remember that with a few tiny exceptions, pretty much the entire American entertainment industry should be on your boycott list.
If every conservative subscriber in America called up and cancelled their TV subscription on Monday morning, and said, "Why should I pay for left-wing propaganda when I can get that for free?", you can bet that there would be some abrupt shit hemorrhages occurring in Hollyweird.
Beast. Starvation. Some assembly required.

Son, once you sell your shit to a distributor you have NO rights to it. You DON'T own it. Understand asshole?
I wouldn't worry about the NRA selling it, no member will be buying your shit after your remarks. Guess what, 5 million folks will be bad mouthing your wine too. How's that going to help your sales, idiot.

Squeeze the makers by restricing access to capital (probably illegally), make the NRA organization non-grata. Expose and pressure the members.
Freeze the target, personalize it, and polarize it. Cut it off from support.
That process seems oddly familiar. The 21st century reich is coming for all of us. it's just a matter of time before Washington's lidless eye sees each and every one of the willful non-compliant clinging to our God and guns.

Meanwhile however, while I think BWW is being stupid, I wonder if we have to respect the private property rights of people who don't want guns on their property?
I made the same argument when it came to smoking, if a resturant wants to ban guns/cigarettes it should be their choice and the market place will do it thing accordingly.

100 Hmmm, one of my friends has a 130 acre tract and a 40 acre tract. Be pretty easy to find a place to put in a hundred feet of grapes for personal use.
Growing grapes is sorta labor intensive, teej.
You need to irrigate the vines, in the dry months...fertilize them, prune them, construct supports to train the vines on, and be constantly tying them up.
It's doable.
But you should be mindful of the labor that is involved.

US dollar fell against the Australian dollar, so their wines have been sort of priced out of their niche market. (This is true because it was 7.99 a couple of years ago and is now 12.99)

Up in Canada two gambling addicts who joined the government gambling addicts program that barred them from entering casinos are suing the government. Why? They claim, after sneaking back in and losing tens of thousands more dollars, they are entitled to the few thousand they won but the casinos refused to award them. They say the law does not prevent them from claiming their prizes.

Is that wrong? If I knew that kind of thing was frowned upon.
Well, yes on several fronts
First, why would he want to marry her?
Second, the pizza was getting cold.
Third, was his drunk priest there too?

My uncle is a cop and he says a lot of guys only shoot their weapon twice a year. Once to practice a few days before they have to qualify, and then to qualify. According to him at least one guy every year ends up shooting the floor when they're practicing drawing and firing. "Highly trained" indeed.

@HeatherRadish,
In fairness, I'm not saying we are forcing them, I'm just not entirely sure it's worth saying "BWW doesn't allow guns, never give them your money now."
Now if they start advocating specifically for an expansion of that using government force, we're got an entirely different barrel of bees as it was.
Sometimes business choices (not alowing smoking for example) don't always mesh up with your personal thoughts on an issue. In this particular case I suppose they figured being vocal about the no guns would draw in more customers than those who wouldn't come in without their guns. Same thing when resturants started not allowing smoking of their own accord (for some places, like nice sitdown joints it made sense not to allow smoking, for others like bars it was remarkably stupid, that's why they didn't tend to do it on their own.)
The Wine and Intuit things are stupid because it's not even remotely close to the same thing. Intuit offering credit card services to an FFL dealer has no bearing on their ability to offer the same service to the vegan coffee shop (or whatever hippie did the bitching.) Ditto for the wine.

All persons and entities listed here (Intuit, Yolumba, Time etc.) have demonstrated a preference for a centrally planned, state dominated systematic crushing of individual rights, freedoms, and choices guaranteed by The Constitution.
Know their identities and totalitarian aims while considering your future interaction.
Or something to that effect.
I'm sure plenty of people here could come up with something better.
It could be called The Red List.

A pond, a pump and some irrigation tubing (one of his businesses so that would come cheap) would handle the water needs for the first few years while the roots are going deep.

When you get ready to do it, teej...it'd be a good idea to get your rootstock from a midwestern vineyard.
That way your vines would be more 'climatized' to the area.

Afterward, anonymously tear the prof a new asshole on ratemyprofessor and any other review vehicle you can find. "Pontificates about everything except the subject matter for the class," just as you said, would be a perfect starting point.

24 oz Welch's frozen concentrated grape juice, thawed 3 cups sugar water to make up one gallon ¼ tsp dry yeast 1 1-gallon glass jug. Mix all ingredients together well with water filling jug to about an inch below the shoulders. Cover with a clean rag secured with rubber band. Keep in a dark place about 70 degrees. About 2 weeks later replace rag with a good thick piece of plastic wrap. After 30 days from starting date, siphon wine off from sediment in bottom and drink. For a good old "Mad Dog 20/20" type wine, add a pint of cheap blackberry brandy to the mix before drinking.

Guy I've been here 10 years I am not some raging lunatic nutjob conspiracy kook no matter how rabid I've been this year but something is up or in the air.
It frightens me that I keep coming back to the UN trying to play disarm games, Barry's people laughing about spigot cities, this push to try to nibble at the 2d Amendment and declare long arms capable of parity with govt eqpt verboten, the GOP suddenly deciding "hell yeah AMNESTY it worked great for us in 2006!"
I don't want democrats in camps I want the able to shut the fuck up and accept lower pay to do work....I don't want a dirty environment but I want prosperity and growth factored the fuck in to the EPA's fantasy life......
The Democrats are about one or maybe two cycles from trying to destroy my way of life as open policy and the GOP is at best trying to make it two or three.
I am so lost about when in the fuck the idea of the hyperegulatory vulture state became baseline operating procedure for the Republic....
Dear God we are 17+ trill in the fucking hole...I remember the bragging going on when we broke 1 trillion in revenue the first time.
Dear Jesus he doubled the debt and this nation is demonstrably not better off than 15 years ago in infrastructure or defense posture....
YOU CANNOT TAX YOUR WAY TO HAPPINESS NOR DEFICIT SPEND TO IT!

We are closer to 100 trillion in debt. Social Security and Medicaid promises make up the bulk of unfunded obligations. This is why i'm expecting very bad things.
The only way to "fix" these problems is to hyperinflate the money, or kill off the people to whom the money is owed.

The LOST treaty, the arms treaty, and how much more shit is aimed right at our nation's head....
I was not saying the UN is there to help us I am saying something BIG is going on.'
Barry is gonna try to sign and comply with UN treaties without their passing I am betting.

A company that does not respect the US Constitution & Bill of Rights should not do business in this country. My great x4 grandfather Col. William Prescott gave the order to the Americans to "not fire until you see the whites of their eyes" in their battle against the British at Bunker (Breed's) Hill during the American Revolution, in which we won our independence, setting an example for the rest of the world -- including your country -- in favor of LIBERTY against tyranny. If you "don't agree" with our gun laws, you don't agree with the 2nd Amendment and you don't agree that all men are entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In other words, you agree with tyranny. I will not be buying any more of your wine and I will be sure to inform everyone I know that you "don't agree" with Liberty.

The only possible way I see of obtaining a divorce is if our side is militarily more powerful than is theirs. I'm not sure if that is the case. Beyond that, why should they let anyone go? They want revenue from the productive, but beyond that, they want control.
I have been trying to scry the future, and the probability paths my mind keeps falling into are not pretty. I see an economic chain reaction (probably starting in Europe) wreaking economic havoc on us. The only thing keeping our money worth anything at all is the fact that so many people BELIEVE it is worth something. Destroy that belief, and dollars could collapse quickly.
Posted by: DiogenesLamp at January 26, 2013 02:59 PM (bb5+k)
That will change very quickly. I told my boss yesterday that the ruling about women in combat arms will do wonders for removing the best and brightest leaders in the military. Between the lower standards and the cries of discrimination and sexual harassment, expect to see an exodus of warriors and their replacement with political animals, not to mention the transformation of EO reps into de facto political commisars.
Posted by: Colorado Alex at January 26, 2013 03:03 PM (hpDVh)
I understand what you are saying but I don't think their rank and file will go to war if we peacefully divorce they are the lazy assholes who undermined the war on terror as "too hard."
Yeah we're already on fumes....people do not understand how much of our economic power is structural deference to military might and stability.
There is no reason for the United States to be United if we have pitiful defense, the blue states want to destroy our past and the red want to be able to use resources to put people back to work and the blue do not.
It will not be easy, but I can honestly see no other way to keep any gasp of the American experiment alive other than divorce.
I just can't.
Posted by: sven10077 at January 26, 2013 03:04 PM (LRFds)
Yup, they will use sensitivity training to weed out politically troublesome leaders...
which is the plan.
Anyway it will not be easy, BUT the Texas national Guard's armored division is probably better than half the Regular Army divisions.
I will spend the rest of my life trying to save as many as I can.
Posted by: sven10077 at January 26, 2013 03:05 PM (LRFds)
The government responds to the crises by imposing wage and price controls. Eventually it ends up with the government sending troops to either force farmers to grow food, or to seize the farms and nationalize them.
From the perspective of the Government, the comrades in the cities will be more important than the troublemakers in the countryside.
I'm borrowing a lot from the Collapse of the Roman Empire and the onset of Soviet Communism. As I think human beings seldom change in their motivation and outlook, I expect history to copy similar circumstances which have occurred before.

Look at another perspective regarding it. If the Conservative states (I will not use the Media Propaganda "Red") could successfully "Divorce" the liberal, they likely could successfully "take" the liberal states. What would be the argument for leaving them alone? Most of what is wrong with them are the stupid policies which they have democratically imposed on themselves.
Should we be willing to put up with crap from them when we could take them?
Do not doubt that their pointy little rat-like minds will not contemplate this possibility should the talk of "Divorce" ever get bandied about seriously. They would rightfully regard a large block of Conservative states as a potential threat to them, because over time it would become exactly that!
The point is, why should they countenance the emergence of what will eventually become a dire threat to them and their ideas?

Armour will make target practice for drones. If you can't knock them down before they can present as a threat, it isn't going to work. Military tactics are changing.

If they were given to long term strategic thinking they wouldn't be democrats.
I agree they would hate us, they already do. Yes we would be able to destroy them on a long enough timeline, but why would we? If anything they will need a berlin wall to keep Free Shit Army in not us out.
I will not burn a torch and scream for it, but I am sincere DL I am dedicating the rest of my life to helping every good American I can move to desnity and laying the groundwork for the red to think of themselves as Red forst American later...

They didn't have infrared and amplified light cameras in Finland and Poland. We could easily find and kill Hayha with modern technology. I would not want to match up a rifleman in the hills against a flying terminator. If riflemen join into ranks, they are an even better target.
They are getting very good practice on dealing with insurgents. Do not doubt for a moment that the same tactics and hardware (or even better hardware) will be employed against people they regard as domestic enemies.
Posted by: DiogenesLamp at January 26, 2013 03:22 PM (bb5+k)
Bullshit. Drones in a conventional fight will face air defenses, the same as any manned plane. Furthermore, drones big enough to carry that kind of ordinance are going to require extensive support facilities, which will be targeted by irregulars.
Drones are nice, but at the moment they are way overrated in a conventional fight.

Yeah ask a grunt who is just back from Durka how often they use Night Vision out in the boonies now.
It works both ways.
DL the idea that the US military is unstoppable is a fiction.
It is extremely lethal, quite formidable and unleashed could scour this continent.
The key is acceptable levels of force to the blue loyalists and the ability to protect that populace from retaliation.
They will let us go if enough want to leave or take their place beside Hitler and Stalin.
No easy path, but there never is.
I was willing to see total nuclear war if need be to stop Stalin's nieces and nephews.

We will have to work at dealing with this in whatever way we can. Getting conservative minded people to move from the Liberal states is a good idea. This is all going to come down to who has the best resources with the bigger and better population. If we could just hold off major problems for a decade or so, I think the forces which are contributing to the empowerment of these bastards will wan to the point where they no longer present a problem.
The more damage that can be done to taxpayer funded unions, Liberal Academia, Liberal News and Entertainment Industries, Liberal legal industries, and so on, the better are our chances at slowly choking off this communist crap.
Technology is hurting Academia and the Liberal News and Entertainment Industries. We need more economic warfare against liberal supporting companies, such as that Australian company mentioned in this thread.
