Obama called Boehner this morning to tell him he wasn't negotiating.

That's actually not a new thing -- he's been calling him for two weeks to tell him "I'm not negotiating or even talking with you."

Which is such a passive-aggressive Teenage Girl move I'm completely unsurprised.

Please call your Senator and US Congressman. Someone, don't care which party, needs to correct this. While the House has attempted to pass 26 votes to zero in Senate, some people are unaware that the GOP is not responsible for the shutdown. The White House is responsible for this, the national parks, etc. The denial of death benefits is the tipping point for me.

 

Please call your representatives. Please. The US Senate office and Congressional office both said people are calling. This needs to be fixed asap. Thank you.

I was listening to the radio the other day, and they had a sound bite of Boehner saying that his goal is to "provide fairness to the American people under Obamacare".

I'm sorry, what the fuck? What does that even MEAN? I know politics and policy intimately and I can't figure that out. Can any of you? What chance do Joe Sixpack and Jane Workaday have to decipher Boehner's gnomic utterances?

There were lots of people *trying* to sign up, so that shows interest.  I'm sure they'll all be back later when they figure out how much they'll save other people on their insurance by paying just a little more (well, thousands more) on their own.
