Yes, just this -- except I've observed some modern parents with another reason -- they're just "too tired" to bother with teaching their kids right from wrong. I know parenting is hard, but this seems like the basics. Skip being their chauffeur for a while and save some energy for civilizing them and teaching them that the world does not revolve around them.

It's a perfectly clear shot of a man being de-faced. What's left is a head shaped like a crescent moon. It happens so quickly that he just stands there. The fatal injury has occurred before his nervous system can register it.
That footage has been made into countless moving GIF avatars that show a human being's face being blown off in crystal-clear detail, over and over and over.

Thank you. He was really torn about leaving. Loves the Corps. Only ONE of the many, many fellow Marines he knows well is re-upping.
He told us morale is as low as can be.
Anyhow, thanks to the Horde for your prayers of support for him, and for me and my husband. This place kept me laughing during times of unbelievable worry.

Four the next five years after leaving the Marines, our son will be covered under the VA (his first three months under Tri-Care). Worries the hell out of me, since he suffered major back injury in Afghanistan and has hearing and vision problems now.

Yep, which is why you want to get that VA physical done right away, so it can be documented as a service related injury.

They suck balls. Not the doctors and nurses, the administration. But the biggest thing is a service related injury means that part of your benefits are tax free. Not that they will still be around by the time he's old enough to collect them, of course.

He complained about the administration as well; said that they would get highly educated Indians (from India) to be the admins and they would treat the docs and nurses like chattel.

I know. Sadly, his "docs" on Okinawa tried to tell him his constant pain wasn't a big deal.
I grew up in the (Air Force) military and my dad's best friend was the head of the hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany in the late 50s early 60s. They actually cared about our troops.
We have best friends here in Savannah in the medical profession. One of them, Dr. Robert Johnson, is a strong conservative running for Jack Kingston's office (Jack is running for Saxby Chambliss' senate seat). "Dr. Bob" knows our son as well as his own.

That wasn't the VA, that was military docs. The entire system is behind the times and geared more towards preventative medicine rather than corrective medicine. My wife had lady problems for 11 years that the military docs couldn't figure out, when we retired and she found a doc "on the outside" he had her diagnosed and fixed up in a couple of weeks.
