— Ace You don't say.
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke acknowledged that Obamacare regulations have caused employers to hire part-time workers, rather than full-time employees, but refused to say if Congress should delay the law’s mandates.“[O]ne thing that we hear, you know, in the commentary we get at the FOMC is that some employers are hiring part-time in order to avoid the mandate there,” Bernanke told Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-Ind., during a House hearing. “So we have heard that.”
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney adopted the opposite position during the press briefing Tuesday. “I would say broadly that if you look at the economic data, the suggestion that the [Affordable Care Act] is reducing full-time employment is belied by the facts,” Carney said.
Yes, I'm sure Jay Carney is looking through all the economic data.

The big question is: So what?
Do people even care about unemployment and jobs? The answer is yes if you're unemployed and looking for a job. But that's not enough people to make politicians and media give a shit.

Amazing the way carrots and sticks direct behavior, isn't it? If you penalize something, say hiring full time employees, you get less of them.
Just absolutely stunning the way this has turned out.

We get shit-tons of 'em here, too. But they are not as bad as the endless Toyota "sale! Sale! SALE!!!" ads, from "Winter Sales Fest" to "Summer Savings Jamboree," with one or two "Toyota-thons" thrown in for good measure.
You would think the Top. Men. of advertising would realize that putting all your eggs in the "Sale!!!!!11!!!" basket would leave people wondering why you don't talk about the product, if it's so damn good.
I could go on at length about other ads on teevee which, if possible, top the car ads for suckage, but why bother?

A dried-out batch of asparagus has touched off a debate about racial discrimination, grocery stores and the role of citizen-led commissions.
It started in May when resident David Olander was perusing the produce section of the University City Schnucks. He noticed the asparagus werenÂ’t resting in a tray of water.
“It was just sitting there dried out,” said Olander, a member of the city’s human relations commission.
Olander summoned an assistant manager, and then he asked the question: Did the quality of the asparagus have any relationship to the storeÂ’s location in a black neighborhood?
“‘I certainly hope not,’” Olander recalled the manager saying.
