Okay, I'm going to raise a modest defense here, not for Baldwin, but for his behavior. In the case of his daughter, he said things that a father ought to say, he just used the wrong words. He was also realizing that he was 16 years too late, and that he was responsible for the arrogant spoiled brat's behavior.

So far as his wife goes, if the paper made impugning remarks that were not true , then Baldwin was justified in reacting...., again, he did it wrongly. The guy is an asshole, but his calling calling out bad behavior is justified.

If Monica Lewinski's father, and Chandra Levi's father had called out Clinton and Condit in the same manner, they would have earned my respect.

There are two facets to the problem. One is that there are, indeed, those like her out there. Completely unable to process anything intellectual. Then there are those that can, but aren't told by the MFM what is happening. The latter is the only group I can hope for.

But what I noticed (again): most plane crashes, pilots were trying to avoid top-speed impacts with full fuel tanks; that day, the MURDING PSYCHOTIC SCUM were giving us the opposite, resulting (most unfortunately) in interesting, unusual studies in airplane physics. In any case, that thing must've nose-dived at top speed, utter disintegration. Quite humbling, really.

178 CarolT : That caller thing didn't surprise me. I worked for a catalog call center back in 2000 and they had a caller id thing on their computer that gave (in most cases) name, address,customer number (if they had ordered before) and whether they had a credit card from the company.

It would not be hard to rig up a computer system which indexed phone numbers to addresses and to all people who live in the home. A couple of the things in that call were a little squirrely, but I always operate under the assumption that my phone calls to any business or government agency are not anonymous.

I realize it's approved authoritarian argle-bargle ("Obama's corrupt because IRS, and IRS is corrupt because Benghazzi", like that's logical), but if the GOOP was ever SERIOUS about this Scandal Summer Surge, they shoulda put someone competent and himself not definitively crooked as a dog's wang in charge of Oversight.
