— CAC For some of you, this may be a bit more challenging. The last two, Greatest Whole and Greatest Ever, were dominated by music from the late 1970s through the early 1990s. It takes time for music to stand the test of, well, time, but I find it interesting 21st century offerings were few and far between. There are hundreds of excellent albums that have been cranked out since I was in high school, so for this edition, ONLY albums released between 2001 and 2013.
To kick off, I submit to you MGMT's first big album, Oracular Spectacular, released in 2008.
With the long weekend, have at it. I'll check back later and update which got top mentions.

Alison Krauss and Union Station get better all the time. "A Hundred Miles or More" is a great album that's her solo project with all the usual players on it and "Paper Airplane" is also excellent.

Rush: Clockwork Angels (almost good enough to forgive Peart's recent hilariously uninformed forays into conservative-bashing)
Duran Duran: All You Need Is Now (lots of younger bands are making 80s-influenced stuff, but leave it to an actual 80s band to do the electro-but-not-dated-sounding thing dead-on perfect. Arguably their best album not named "Rio").
Franz Ferdinand: self-titled (A near-perfect slice of pop-rock goodness from start to finish).
Honorable mentions:
Foo Fighters: Wasting Light (some real standout moments from a band that had gotten a little paint-by-numbers, but I can't promote it to top tier because some of the tracks still *are* paint-by-numbers)
Pentatonix: PTX, Volume 1 (the winners of NBC's tragically cancelled Ben Folds-judged acapella contest have serious, serious chops. No Autotune necessary, and they're genuinely nice kids to boot)
Alex Claire: The Lateness of the Hour (maddeningly inconsistent, but the high points are really good)
Tenacious D: self-titled (the best novelty/comedy album not by Weird Al ever, but does it get old eventually)
Eminem: The Marshall Mathers LP (Not endorsing anything in particular about the man, but he's got definite talent and he's been lucky to work with good producers)

--I pretty much agree, although I think it's fair for each individual to believe that there's a "Golden Age" of at least *their* favorite type of music that may never be seen again, although it's usually a product of coming of age. For my part, I think the greatest era was indie rock/dream pop of the late '80s and early '90s, not coincidentally also my late adolescence/early adulthood.
That said, that doesn't mean you should completely ignore what's out now, even if the sum total of music is shit compared to your personal Golden Age. In any case, even the stuff I love I don't want to crank too often now that I have a babeh who could be traumatized by it.

Exactly, as a "jazz" fan (I hate using that word because of some dipshit associations it can bring) I was thrown into a murderous rage when fuckstick hobbyist Ken Burns did his horseshit sociology stories posing as history about the art form because the stupid cocksucker treated it like a fucking museum piece. Fuck that shit. Jazz didn't end in the 60s, nor should the European and now Asian inputs be ignored, which that shithead was guilty of. There's plenty of good shit to be seen in the clubs which is where the music has always thrived anyway.
The same goes for rock. There's a lot of fucking garbage out there and, as a boomer, I run the risk of making a spectacle of myself by buying into every fad of the moment that gets shoved down the consumers' throats. But I like to think I can walk that line and still seek out quality stuff that happens to be new.
