Black, Hispanic Congressional Aides Paid Far, Far Less Than White Counterparts

They're being paid a little bit more than 3/5ths of a white staffer.

Â“African American staffers on Democratic federal-level campaigns are paid 70 cents on the dollar compared to their white counterparts; Hispanics are paid 68 cents on the dollar,Â” writes Ethan Roeder, executive director of NOI.
The study finds that although Republican campaign staffs hire a disproportionately high number of white men, the income disparities between racial groups are not nearly as pronounced as on Democratic campaigns.

Interestingly this is probably caused by the democrats hiring minority persons who aren't qualified for the job based solely on their race. Economics is a bitch though, and since these persons aren't up to snuff they probably pay them with this in mind (i.e. less) or pay them less so as to have more available funds to pay for an additional staffer who can do the job.

66 All snark aside, these studies are inherently bogus because they purpose are focusing on the wrong metric. It is illegal, and almost never done, to base pay on race. Instead, pay is based on experience, education, and effectiveness. The reason that minorities are paid less, either by Dem Congressmen, or out in the private sector, is simply because overall on average they have less experience, education or effectiveness. Period. The way to rectify this situation is not to force employers to may inadequate employees more, but rather for those future employees to study more, or work more, and once employed, to do a better job. The racial pay disparity does not prove that Dems are "as racist as" GOPers, but rather that the disparity is therefore self-evidently not racially based at all. But snark gets the point across more effectively.

Where, near as I can figure, disparate impact means that if the demographics at every level of your organization don't precisely mirror either the demographics of the country as a whole (if you're a large outfit) or the demographics of your local area of operations (if you're a small one) then you must _prima facie_ have engaged invidiously in discrimination to produce that result.

Okay, take them at face value on that crap. An "equal pay" metric is easy enough to define, and I'm sure a coherent "disparate impact" metric could also be defined.

Then pass a truth-in-labeling law requiring all organizations in the country, everything, public sector, private sector, big, small, you name it, to explicitly and prominently publish for the public whether or not they are equal-pay-compliant and disparate-impact-compliant.

This will, you can be sure, result in many many red faces all throughout the institutional left, because the rude reality behind the scenes is that they are nowhere even close to upholding the standards which they sanctimoniously push on all the rest of us.

Anyway, it was also determined that Maxine Waters' was giving campaign funds to her daughter's public relation firm and funneling money to her husband. I had the extreme displeasure of seeing her at the polling place on Election Day 2010. I was the ONLY individual to not acknowledge her when she walked in. She got in my face and tried to speak to me and I let her know the Democrats were in for a rude awakening. Needless to say, I wasn't popular in there.

OMG. Haven't seen Team America?

Quick Story.

Hot night in B-dad, we were able to get up on top of a building that had the elevator shaft on the roof painted white, so we could watch movies on it if the threatcon was low enough. I convinced about 6 O-5s, 6s that Team America was about the funniest thing ever, and should been seen immediately.

We got all body-armored up, scattered the white, plastic lawn chairs onto the roof, and got everyone settled in right about sunset. (foreshadowing)

We had rolled out this huge sound system/projector thing. Plugged everything in to these huge, beat up speakers that were there. Started the video, good to go.

No sound.

Crap.

Like a good pilot, I started frantically twisting knobs and pushing buttons.

The movie is still rolling along; about that time, the Muslim call to prayer starts wailing from the minarets.

So: Its a beautiful, sultry night in B-dad, the call to pray is drifting over the night air.

And I find the button.

and the volume is turned to "11".

The Team America theme song is blasted out over Iraq, stuffing the call to prayer back into the loudspeakers from whence it came.

For those of you that dont know the theme song....

AMERICA, F* YEAH! HERE WE COME TO SAVE THE MUTHA-F-ing DAY NOW!

repeat.

Plastic chairs went flying; I was frantically trying to find what the heck know I could twist to make it stop.

I eventually found it.
