Blue State, Red Wine and various and sundry gibberish [Journolist]
— Open Blogger

As a smart military blog, why wouldn't we tell you about a great tasting wine? It's a tasty red vinted in a hasty blue state. A blue state of blonde haired brunettes, $7 soy lattes and vespa riding metro-sexuals. Oh yeah, California is in a state of bewonderment where 420 is legal but smoking isn't. The moral of the story is get stoned but don't blow smoke because it's bad for the environment. And if you want proof, just ask the the guy barking for Green Peace in front of any Trader Joes grocery store in the Golden State. He'll vouchsafe it...along with the undeniable fact that those fellers in the show, Whale Wars, are top notch.

OK...so I have ADD and I digress. So the great tasting wine you should try? Well, it's below the fold as they say. The wine is vinted in Paso Robles, CA by the Opolo Winery (which is just inland from California's Central Coast). The winery is truly awesome and those that run it are even awesomer, to borrow a word from our local weather girl.

I recommend the 2010 Mountain Zinfandel which is moderately priced. It is fantastic and goes well with Camel Lights. Try it and you will like it with or without the grits.

So there you have it.

Now carry on and if you want more information on this, call Purp.

Have a nice day.

51 A friend told me Cali Zins go well with pot. For matching wine with beer, you pretty much have to say which beer, as there are now so many styles. An alternate strategy is to pick a food (e.g., potato chips) and match a beer and a wine to it. A hard-won truth is that if your food is full of umami, you may want to stick with beer. Be careful.
